6"x9" 3-way speakers
Our take on the Kicker 41DSC6934 by Crutchfield's Alexander Hrabe
Here's the Kicker
As if Kicker wasn't already stiff competition for any affordable car speaker, their DS-Series speakers once again raise the bar. In addition to providing excellent sound, these Kickers offer a thin profile that allows them to fit in more vehicles.
The 41DSC6934 6"x9" speakers will give you clarity like you've never had with your factory speakers. The 3-way design recreates a more dynamic sound by dedicating the highs to the PEI domed tweeters and the lows to the polypropylene woofer, while the 2" midrange driver delivers an extra dose of warmth and detail. The 41DSC6934's highly sensitive design conjures hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios, but these speakers will handle up to 90 watts RMS if you decide to incorporate an external amp.
Super easy installation and sound is excellent. Rich bass tones and no distortion.

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker DS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for their rigidity and light weight. Polypropylene is also resistant to moisture and high temperature extremes found in automotive applications.
Ribbed Polyester Foam Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.
1/2" PEI Balanced-dome Tweeters: The 1/2" PEI balanced-dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with quick, detailed and spatially-correct imaging. PEI is an acronym for polyetherimide. The tweeters have strong neodymium magnets for higher power handling.
2" Dome Midrange: The 2" PEI dome midrange provides a strong response in the critical midrange band where the majority of the vocals are located.

Kicker's DS car speakers help you get better sound in your car, even if space is tight in your doors. Their thin profile helps them fit where other speakers can't.

2 answers I am undecided between the 6x9 and 6.5 models of the Kicker CS and DS series speakers. They would be going into a 98 Accord LX Sedan with the factory head unit. What are some of the differences between each series besides power handling ability and which one would be a better choice for my factory radio with no plans to add an external amp? [ Dan Jul 23, 2015 ]
From a stock deck eh. I would definitely think about connecting to at least a 40x2 if you really want to get good performance some what out of them unfortunately [ RONALD May 05, 2016 ]
I have the 6X9 DS series in a 91 Blazer using just a Sony head for power 50W and they sound great. [ Matthew Jul 24, 2015 ]

These speakers KICK @$$!!! well worth the money! [ WILLIAM Mar 28, 2015 ]
The Bass is great they hit pretty hard for a 6x9 and the mid and twitter do there job also I am pushing them and kicker 6 3/4 in the front door with a 800 watt amp with the gain half way up without the speaker bottoming out I will tell you to buy them you won't be sorry! [ MICHAEL ANTHONY Mar 27, 2015 ]
Depending on what stereo you have the Kicker will deliver a lot of bass. Now on the loudness. They deliver. My ears are still ringing. [ Christian Mar 26, 2015 ]
They are entry level factory replacements. Decent for that purpose; but if you want bass you are looking at subs and separates. [ James Mar 25, 2015 ]
I mounted mine as free air but either way would most likely work fine [ DARIN Jun 12, 2014 ]
Haven't tried with baffles. If anything I was explained the baffles help to insulate the speaker from the elements. I newer vehicles this is something to worry less about. [ Cram Jun 09, 2014 ]
I use them in the rear deck of my 06 dodge stratus. it has a enclosure around the speakers. i wouldn't use a baffles that would reduce the base you got from the kickers i would think. [ MICHAEL ANTHONY Jun 08, 2014 ]
Baffles. Designed as own replacements. [ James Jun 08, 2014 ]
