Overview

Our take on the Kicker 41KSC4104

Slim profile

The 41KSC4104 features a slimmer design, making it a perfect fit in more cars.

Slim fit

These KS Series speakers are some of the most installation-friendly Kicker speakers yet. These low-profile speakers feature a reduced mounting depth, making them a match for almost any car.

Pump up the volume

While the low profile is an elegant asset, you'll find the real beauty of Kicker's KS Series speakers inside. The 41KSC4104's highly sensitive design conjures hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios. So, you'll be able to enjoy every bit of their natural sound, starting with a full midbass and midrange experience from the 4"x10" polypropylene woofer and its powerful magnet. You'll also hear subtle vocal and instrumental details from the silk balanced dome tweeter, giving your music a dimension that factory speakers just can't manage.

Highlights:

  • 2-way car speakers (pair)
  • 4"x10" polypropylene woofer cone with rubber surround
  • 1/2" silk balanced dome tweeter
  • power range: 2-75 watts RMS (150 watts peak power)
  • frequency range: 45-20,000 Hz
  • sensitivity: 88 dB
  • top-mount depth: 2-7/16"
  • impedance: 4 ohms
  • grilles not included

Expensive, But you Get What You Pay For

Gabriel from Staunton, VA on 1/8/2017

They're a bit pricey, but this is one of those things where you get what you pay for. These sounded awesome in my 92 Chevy S-10 extended cab, and mounted right up. All wiring harnesses included in the box were fantastic. As always, great service from Crutchfield as always. Paired with a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X500 Head unit. Actually got some decent bass out of them as well. Would definintely reccomend! The only reason for the price being so high is because these are very low-demand speakers, and they aren't produced in bulk.

Pros: -Easy Install -Great Included Wiring & Hardware -Realistic and Surprisingly High Power Handling -Great Build Quality -Awesome sound for the size

Cons: -Bit pricey, given the size of the speaker -Can'y change the direction of the tweeter

Sounds pretty good considering the odd 4" x 10" size and stock radio. Had to drill the mounting holes out to 1/4" to fit on the factory mounting studs on a '95 S10 extended cab pickup. Otherwise they slipped right in.

1993 Suburban

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy install in the rear headliner of a 1993 Suburban. The factory screws are difficult to use to install the Kickers (they are hex head and you cannot get a socket or nutdriver in the speaker relief to tighten them) and the supplied screws fit too loosely in the factory holes. The supplied speed nuts are fairly worthless . I installed them in about 20 minutes but may replace all of the screws with the next size larger at some point. Be aware that GM used some black tar like substance for some purpose in the speaker grilles and headliner and it will fall out and make a mess. I had to do some cleaning after the install. The Kicker KS series are amazing speakers! I'm so impressed with the front ones but cannot really review the sound of the rear ones as they are a long way away from the drivers seat and the front ones really are amazing.

Pros: High quality

Cons: Fasteners supplied don't work well in a 1993 suburban

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These Kickers were matched up to a pair of Kicker 41 KSC44 speakers. The four of them provided some wonderful sounds that were clean and clear. I recently purchased an old SAAB and trying to bring it back to life. So the speakers were a target. The 27 year old speakers were sort of working and it was impressive that they could. But after dropping in these Kickers the improvement was fantastic. Fitment was not a problem and all material needed was there. Installation was not easy because of the location and the manner the speakers needed to go in. The installation was made less complicated as they matched up to the original locations. With all four speakers working sound superb. Life is good. Now new head unit will complete the transformation.

Pros: These speakers added a little bass to the sound but they complemented the front speakers so now the sound is almost as good as a modern vehicle

Cons: None at all

Nice upgrade from worn factory speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A really nice upgrade from the blown 25 year old speakers. I have owned several early 90s S-10s, and even new my factory speakers didn't sound this good. Easy to install. The only downfall is a lack of bass. Not really Kickers fault more a speaker design flaw. I would definitely recommend these speakers for a great upgrade. Even if your speakers are not blown.

Pros: Easy to install, clear, will take most of what my Sony stereo will throw at it.

Cons: A lack of bass

Excellent

Replaced rear original factory blown out speakers and it could not have been easier. Crutchfield's instructions and provided adapter made this an easy job. Speakers sounded great. They are an excellent replacement for factory speakers. I feel they even exceed that by a noticeable margin.

Pros: Installation could not be easier. Sound great.

Cons: None

2000 Chevrolet Tahoe
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fit my 2000 Z71 Tahoe (OBS - GMT400) well and sound great, event though Crutchfield's web site said they wouldn't for some reason. Crutchfield automatically included conversion connectors so I didn't have to splice anything. That was impressive!! While the smaller high end speaker isn't angled forward like the stock speaker, they still sound great. I had to do a little modification to the plastic around the mount holes to get a socket around the original bolt. 2 minutes with a Dremel. I could have used the included Phillips head screws, which would have been easier, but the original "bolts" were just a little heavier and shorter so I wanted to use them.

Pros: Sound great - Thanks for the connectors!!

Cons: High end speaker not angled toward front like stock. I had to modify plastic around bold holes just a little to use original bolts.

Nice little speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these for my 1987 Chevy R10 to replace the old, worn out factory speakers. Definitely a HUGE improvement! Additionally, Crutchfield provided all the necessary brackets and wire harnesses to make the install pleasantly easy. I have these paired with the Kicker 41KSC354 4x10's and a Pioneer radio. Truck has a good audio system once again. Only thing missing is a subwoofer. I would definitely recommend to those looking for speakers for their older vehicles.

1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these for my 1987 Monte Carlo SS. As in some of the other reviews, I had to mark and drill 4 holes in the package shelf support (the metal support under the package shelf). It was fairly easy to do from inside the trunk, an automatic center punch makes life easier. After installing these, the radio sounds soooooo much better! I can now pump up the volume and retain clarity. I will admit that I replaced the original 28 year old speakers but these speakers sound better than many new cars I've driven. My only problem now is I need to replace the front speakers - I have replaced them once before so its not like they're 28 years old, they just can't keep up with the Kickers.

Pros: Great sound!

Cons: Not a direct replacement since I had to drill holes but with a bigger magnet and deeper cone the factory bracket is useless. Again, it was very easy to drill the holes - use a sharp bit and a center punch and it's cake.

These speakers were just what I needed for the replacement of the factory speakers in my 99 Chevy Tahoe. Perfect for the not to loud or too quiet audience. Perfect fit, easy to install, came with easy to understand instructions. I am thinking of adding a subwoofer as well and I know where to buy it, Crutchfield.

Pros: Easy to install, Perfect fit, came with additional/if needed hardware.

Cons: Nothing that I can think of.

Why did GM choose 4 X 10s from Taneytown MD on 6/16/2015

1999 Chevrolet Suburban
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I won't blame the average sound of these speakers on the speaker itself because the narrow aspect ratio of this speaker doesn't lend itself to great performance. That's why almost no one uses the 4 X 10 size, bass is non existent, these work best for your high tones in the system, having said that these speakers are a good upgrade over stock and fit perfectly even tho the Crutchfield website insists they don't fit in the very rear headliner of a 90s Suburban, mine is a 1999, I had no problems with fitment in any way.

Pros: Hard size to find, thanks Crutchfield! Good upgrade to a speaker that would be so much better as a 6 X 9. Fit perfectly in my truck.

Cons: 4 X 10? Why o why, GM really cheaped out on the factory set up. Bass is a no show

1983 Chevrolet Malibu
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was able to modify the speakers to fit my 83 Malibu rear grills. The mounting holes were undersized for the factory plastic stud. The stock speaker was lighter and only used two spin nuts from the factory although it has 4 studs. I ran a 6mm die carefully over all 4 studs and used machine nuts on all 4 corners. Only time will tell if the factory grill can hold the weight

Pros: Could make them work.

Cons: Needed modification on my car.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Have an '86 cutlass 442 to restore and since it's needed...I bought these speakers. Olds factory came with think metal trays to hold up the speakers (which needed to be notified to accommodate for the larger magnet). After doing so, it was five minute install and of course with the included wiring via CRUTCHFIELD! Speakers sounded great (even with original GM radio)!! Thanks!

Pros: Great quality!

Cons: I have not found any. Great speaker for this car (and other g-body types out there).

Great speakers, as always.

I still had the stock GM speakers installed...minus the foam ring surrounding the cone, that had disintegrated....completely! Pros: Quality, Great Sound, Decent Pricing, Easy Installation

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker KS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for power and control. Polypropylene is also resistant to moisture and the temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Balanced Dome Tweeters: The 1/2" balanced dome silk tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with a wide dispersion pattern. The tweeters have strong neodymium magnets for higher power handling. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.
