Overview

Our take on the Kicker 41KSC354

KSC35

Slim fit

These KS Series speakers are some of the most installation-friendly Kicker speakers yet. These low-profile speakers feature a reduced mounting depth, making them a match for almost any car.

Pump up the volume

While the low profile is an elegant asset, you'll find the real beauty of Kicker's KS Series speakers inside. The 41KSC354's highly sensitive design conjures hefty volume even from low-powered factory radios. So, you'll be able to enjoy every bit of their performance, starting with the surprisingly full sound of the 3-1/2" polypropylene woofer and its powerful magnet. You'll also hear subtle vocal and instrumental details from the silk balanced dome tweeter, giving your music a dimension that factory speakers just can't manage.

Good quality and sound for a good price.

1980 Chevrolet Malibu
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Speaker sounds great and was not too bad to install. I put these into the front dash of my 1980 Chevy Malibu and had two small issues. 1. The overall height of the speaker is slightly more than the factory speakers. Due to the sharp angle of the windshield, this added height made it difficult to install the speakers. I had to basically assemble the speakers and grill independently inside the dash. 2. The tweeter on these speakers stick out SLIGHTLY above the speaker. This caused the speaker to interfere with the grill in the dash. These issues are mostly related to the vehicle I installed them in, but might come into play with other vehicle also.

I have never bought from Kicker before, but I'm now a fan. These speakers fit just right in my Buick Park Avenue 2004, and they sound terrific. Considering how small of speakers they are the mid-range and high-range output is perfect and it smoothed out my cars sound. Will probably be buying from 5 1/4 KS series speakers for the front doors.

I got these for a 2016 Ram 1500 Crew. It was a simple installation and these dropped right in without any problems. The highs are clean and clear, but no mid-bass or bass at all, but that's normal for 3.5 inch speakers, that's what the 6x9's and subwoofers are for. A+ for Crutchfield's website to give all the information needed to get the job done.

Pros: Good clean highs and the installation was very easy.

Cons: None so far.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are incredibly so much more crisper than the stock speakers. Really a significant change in the high end treble. Much clearer. On the down side, but not much, was the stock speakers actually had a lot more bass then these kickers. It doesn't matter anyway because I had a 10" subwoofer put in my truck. I really love how these speakers come with the adapter so I could just do a plug and turn on. It only took me 15 minutes to replace both. Overall, Great Product!

Pros: Highs are much better than the stock. Larger Magnet 4ohm vice 8ohm in stock.

Cons: Loss of bass.

Not much to say, they sounded great until one of them after about a minute at 25% volume suddenly started breaking up and lost most of it's volume. Crutchfield is currently processing a full refund and didn't charge me for return shipping...

Pros: Marked improvement over Ram stock dash speakers.

Cons: Didn't get to enjoy long before one went belly up!

Smooth and accurate.

Dropped right in the dash of 2007 Chrysler 300 with only wire modification. Using 300 HZ bass blockers lets these give you a bit of low mid presence. I found these to be very smooth and responsive. I have a Sony WX-900 BT which is quite impressive driving these.

Pros: No mod fit, Great replacement for factory.

Cons: N/A

Perfect Clarity at Economical Price

Doug from St Charles, IL on 8/15/2016

2013 Toyota RAV4
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity of these little speakers. I replaced my factory 3.5"s in my RAV 2013, and I was little discouraged because I was tempted to get components, and put in 1" tweeters. However, I'm glad I got these. The clarity and response are great. I still have my factory head unit because I don't want to lose the Toyota features, and I don't even have the high-levels turned up; the high-level on the stereo is still set at the default 0 db mark. The clarity was good coming from the factory stereo on its own, but I decided to hook these up to my Alpine MRV F300 4-channel amp. The speakers are running on a sperate channel from the front door speakers. The goal was to optimize the speration, and keep adjust the frequency cut offs with respects to the speaker specs. I have the frequency cut off around 400 hz, which is above the 300 hz minimum stated on the tech specs. I have kicker 6.5" 2-way in the front doors running on the second channel, and I have these dialed down to 120 hz. Factory signal from the deck is wired to a AudioControl LC7i. Again, the factory stereo highs and mid levels are set at 0db. With a 10" kicker truck subwoofer paired with a MRV-500 amp in the back, the sound is perfect. I highly recommend this product.

Pros: Clear highs Good power handling at 30W RMS from amp.

Cons: Takes about 1 month (or 60 hours of playtime) for the speakers to break-in.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice sounding speakers! The fit was a bit difficult in my 88 Monte Carlo SS, but that was an issue due to the design of the dash and the placement of the speakers in the vehicle itself. Once installed the sound was good, but on tracks with a lot of bass it was a bit muddy. I purchased some of these http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127BB800A2/Bass-Blockers-800-Hz-cut-off.html?tp=3216 to install and the bass issues went away. Now the mid and highs are nice and crisp.

2012 Dodge Truck 3500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just installed these into the dash on my diesel Ram. Its a night and day difference over the anemic stock speakers even running off of the stock headunit. The clarity and clear highs is immediately noticeable. I listen to a good variety of music from Pantera and Slayer to Charlie Daniels, Jason Aldean and everything in between. These keep up very well even at higher volume.

Pros: Excellent Clarity and fit

Cons: Doesn't come with any sort of low frequency bass blocker. In a custom install with a crossover and amp this isn't an issue. However running on a stock headunit it sends the full range of music to them and such a small speaker will struggle and distort with low frequencies.

Fantastic speaker

I just finished installing these speakers and I am very impressed with the sound. I also used the 300Hz Bass Blockers on the advice from a Crutchfield tech. He was dead on, I tried them with and without the Bass Blockers and I'm happy I bought them. I don't think these speakers handle bass very well, without the Bass Blockers they sounded a little fuzzy.

Pros: Great sound, easy install

Cons: Bass Blockers are needed

Opted to add dash speakers instead of replacing the speakers behind the seats in my 2008 single cab Ram. So glad I did. Still using the factory head unit I was a little concerned because when faded to rear speakers you could barely hear them. Upon tapping into the rear speaker leads and having the sound eminate basically right in your face it was just the opposite. I now have to fade them out some as not to overpower the recently installed Polk audio db651s in the front doors. Awesome soundstage and prescence.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got these to replace the stock 3 1/2" speakers in the dash location of my 2005 Dodge Magnum RT. Perfect fit. No drama installation. Crutchfield says they will not fit but that is incorrect. Because of this, you will not get any installation instructions. But just Google "LX FORUMS" to get all the wiring, panel removal and install details that you need. Read it. Comprehend?? Execute. Piece of pie! Like I said, They fit perfectly! The dimensions of the stock speakers and these Kicker's are almost exactly the same. Awesome sound!! These suckers placed the sound stage EXACTLY where it is supposed to be. The mid-range is excellent! 1/2" tweeters a little harsh as volume increases. Forget the bass! These are way too small. That is not their job! You need to install INLINE CROSSOVERS to prevent instantly nuking these things. I hooked these up to the factory amp. Man, they sounded really good! Great upgrade for a factory system or driven off your receiver. However, that 50 watts RMS might be a bit optimistic. I installed inline crossovers (High pass at 300 hertz) but they still got hit with frequencies that they cannot handle. Now they sound "scratchy" at low volume (mid to high volume will cover this up). DO NOT HOOK THESE UP TO ANY GOOD EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER!! They will get destroyed! Unless you have both active and passive crossovers to provide them maximum protection from lower notes. But if they fit your needs, I say BUY IT!!

Pros: Great sound! Easy installation (if you are willing to use the Internet to LEARN!)

Cons: NEEDS CROSSOVER PROTECTION (that should be common knowledge_not really a Con). you will need additional tweeters to round out the sound if you plan on going loco! They provide excellent mid range!! Bass is not their thing (they are only 3 1/2 inch speakers!) 1/2' silk tweeters sound really good but their size (or lack thereof) limits their performance. common sense (does not come with the speakers). Enjoy your improved sound!!

These were an awesome upgrade from the stock speakers. You can tell the difference in the mid range for sure, and the tweeter has a much cleaner sound.

Pros: Fast and easy install with the wiring harness adapters for my truck.

Cons: No cons for Kicker, but no applause for dodge for making the front bolts (Closest to the windshield) hard for fat fingers. I could not find my 1/4" ratchet to make this faster than the the 10 minutes it took to replace both speakers.

replaced my old blown monoprice 3 inch speakers with these 3.5 inches. Had to make a couple of mods to the monoprice satellite speaker boxes but it was well worth it. This little speakers pack a punch, I listen to Pandora and watch cinema blue rays. I bought 4 speakers to replace all the 4 satellite speakers on my 5.1 Monoprice premium speaker purchase that is 2 years old. By the way my 8 inch Monoprice power subwoofer was also replaced with a 10 kicker sub so its got some really deep boom..

Pros: i can turn it up my 5.1 theater system and the 3.5 speakers can handle it with no problem

Cons: i should of bought these a long time ago

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Never thought about buying Kicker products, I've been a JL Audio and Alpine guy forever, the Crutchfield team really helped me, I was not replacing the stock HU and wanted much better sound. And I got what I wanted. these sound great. When you see what is actually in the dash stock it is disturbing. All the reviews I read , and I read so many it was nauseating, never said that my truck had 2 dash speakers. It had 3. Well there were only , 2. and they are 8 ohm speakers ( all reviews I read on this subject said all the speakers in the ram 1500 are 2 ohm. Including Crutchfield techs said they were 2 ohm. Guess you have to only take reviews with a grain of salt. Also the crossover is built into the stock speaker, so when you replace them they run full range. Surprising how much clean sound is produced by these little 3.5" speakers. Hope I don't blow them out. They sound very clean and I can hear a lot of detail.. Highly recommended.

Pros: Detail, they even create a phantom center channel the imaging is so dead on. They work very hard without distortion at full range.

Cons: Afraid I may blow them.

It didn't come with the 10 speaker Bose system and therefore the back (third row) seat didn't have any speakers installed for that area. Instant upgrade. 2007 Toyota Tundra swapped out JBL system for high quality amplified front, rear, and subs a long time ago. Had stock center channel which always sounded bright. Never bothered to change it until I was researching speakers for my kids' car. Decided to try this and use the other speaker in his car. After replacing the old speaker with this one, the sound stage has totally changed (I added a bass blocker). The vocal clarity and accuracy is far superior to stock speaker. Sounds so much better. It's almost as if it draws in the tweeters from the door pillars. Easy, cheap upgrade. Instant impact using as a center channel speaker. Very pleased. I did not have to modify my speaker grill or any part of the dash. Screw hole mounts were about a mm off but I made it work without stripping the screw retainers.

Pros: Easy simple upgrade, accurate sound

After less than stellar performance from my factory speakers, it was time for a change. I've got a '13 Ram regular cab with the UConnect 5.0 stereo non Alpine system. These went in the dash with absolutely no problems. With the included harness adapters, installation was a breeze. The sound is great, no more muddy highs. I listen to a lot of different genres of music. From SLAYER to Beanie Man, Mumford & Sons to El Kommander. These speakers alone changed my sound stage for the better. After a week of playing these speakers I've upgraded my rear speakers also (KSC694).

The speakers sound great and were used to replace the small speakers in the D pillars in my 2004 Chevy Suburban. Very clear, which is amazing from such a tiny speaker. They even have a little punch with the mids. Very impressed. They sound great in my 1988 MR2, and fit in the B Pillar just fine to replace the disintegrated factory speakers. Install note for fellow AW11 MR2 owners: You will have a choice to make when installing these. Either drill a hole in your B Pillar, Mount the speakers with only one of the factory bolts, or make a custom speaker mounting dock for them. I mounted them temporarily using the top bolt on both sides until I can come up with a custom solution, and there is no rattle or abnormal noise from them, and I have a fairly stiff set of coilovers giving them every excuse to rattle around.

When choosing the speakers for the dash of my 2013 dodge I wanted to be sure and get the right ones. I spend about 3 hrs a day in my car so I wanted great sound not just volume. I was amazed at the quality of sound that came from their small size. The kicker brand is not one that I have used, therefore I was hesitant. But Ryan was able to adequately answer my questions about the speakers. I have been a Polk fan for a number of years but have added this line of kickers to my list of acceptable speakers. I have since installed the 6x9 versions in the rear doors.

Features

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker KS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for power and control. Polypropylene is also resistant to moisture and the temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Balanced Dome Tweeters: The 1/2" balanced dome silk tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with a wide dispersion pattern. The tweeters have strong neodymium magnets for higher power handling. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.

Thanks for your question. It's really up to you. Being that you are replacing the other rear deck speakers you will have to remove the rear seat and rear deck panel, so it would be a perfect time to replace the other one as well. There is only one speaker in the center. There is no wiring harness available for the rear center speaker so you'll have to splice into the vehicle wiring for that location. Hope this helps. I don't remember the measurements. I'll look further to try to help you. [ Joe  Jul 12, 2016 ]
Its been awhile since I've installed my set, but i think they might rise up just a tad. I installed these in an 86 Chevy K20. They fit fine and sound great! [ Cody  Apr 14, 2016 ]
The tweet housing does stick up slightly above the frame, but I was still able to get the speaker grille to screw down without any trouble on my 87 El Camino. I suspect your c20 dash is nearly identical to mine in that regard. [ Greg  Apr 14, 2016 ]
Tweeter did sit flush with the face of the speaker. Be aware, the magnet size is much larger than factory. I had to trim inside the speaker location for proper fit. May not apply to all installs [ Gary  Apr 14, 2016 ]
They're not flush, but it doesn't stick up very high. Less than half an inch or so. [ David  Apr 14, 2016 ]
Yes you are correct, they are only sold in pairs. [ Kenny  Mar 31, 2016 ]  Staff
