Performed well as Crutchfeild rep indicated they would, these were installed in the rear pillar's of my 91 GMC sierra, was not expecting much bass, pleasantly surprised at what it did put out despite its size, in fact so much so i had to dis-assemble the ext cab rear panels to find out what was causing an annoying bass vibration from these Kickers. Turns out GM had a factory speaker wire retainer clip just laying against the truck body behind the new speaker, foam taped the clip & all is well. DIY installers do yourself a favor and stick dwn anything that might rattle no matter how minor you may think it is. The bass in these small kickers seems to be enuf to vibrate anything loose in the speaker enclosure even if its just factory wires, silicone or tape them down its worth the effort of not taking apart all those panels ..again.
Pros: Kicker should re-name these speakers "Little Giants" they're are really not intended to be big performers but they do seem to put out enuf bass to please your average system. Was not expecting much better than my 4" dashtop Kenwoods out of the Kicker 4x6's especially as a 2 way speaker but no disappointments there. If you dont want to, or can't add any size larger to your vehicle these Kickers should please you. If you need "thud" bass look at larger speakers or powered sub.
Cons: None to speak of other than the clips on the back of the speaker are on the wimpy side be careful when you install the larger plastic wire harness it bends easy & could break if forced.
Gone are the good ol days when manufacturers rivited brackets to the speaker frame & you pushed your speaker wires onto the terminals vertically, & you could hear them click solidly in place.
