Built tough

Kicker's 40CS674 speaker set provides low-end from a tough 6-3/4" polypropylene woofer, with a polyester foam surround that will stay strong for years to come. The 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter takes care of the vocal and instrumental details that'll really bring your music to life. These speakers sound great powered by a factory radio or an aftermarket car stereo, and they'll really rock when connected to an external amplifier. Grilles are included.

Q
i currently have a bose system in my truck will kickers give me a similar sound as far as mid range ect?
ryan  Nov 13, 2016
1 answer
A
I currently have Bose in my Altima, and had kickers in my last Altima. Midrange and highs are comparable (I didn't have my kickers amplified, but my Bose system is). Bass was decent for 6 3/4" speakers that weren't amplified, but I've heard that they really come to life with the extra power. The bass from my Bose system is significantly more powerful than the kickers, but the comparison isn't apples to apples. Mids and highs were crisp and clear even at high volumes though. I read a review where a guy put these in his vehicle and was disappointed because it was the same as the Bose system he replaced. That by itself probably answers your question pretty well.

Q
i have a 2006 nissan sentra with stock rear speakers 6ohm,,with rockford fosgate system stock from nissan,, 9 speakers all around and amp that puts out i believe 300 watt,,the rear speakers are not that good,,,they do not put out much sound,,will these kickers do for rear deck?
paraschos p  May 04, 2016
1 answer
A
Per the research we have on file for your '06 Nissan Sentra (w/ the Rockford system), the factory rear deck speakers are actually 4-ohm impedance; so the Kicker speakers would work just fine as rear deck replacements in your vehicle. For more info on fitment and compatibility with your vehicle, feel free to reach out to an Advisor using the "Contact Us" link at the top of the webpage. I hope that helps! I have a pioneer 2 channel head unit powered by a stock amp in my 2002 4runner. Are these speakers compatible with this head unit?
blake  Jan 24, 2016
1 answer
A
Sure are, I ran a Pioneer head unit in all of my vehicles and never had an issue with speaker choices. You may have to play with the head units equalizer to get the best sound but no worries about ruining anything.

Q
Can these speakers handle a 2ohm load?
jeremy  Sep 19, 2015
1 answer
A
They are rated for 4ohm but they are kickers. I have installed 4 8inch comp kicker that where rated for a 4ohm and put them in a 2 ohm load. NO PROBLEMS. they ran for years and loud. So I would say yes but I am no expert. Love Kickers. Wish I still had old school punch 45 amp.

Hello, I own a 2002 Nissan maxima and upgraded my stereo system and both these speakers. They are ok nothing to incredible about them. I would get infinity speakers or boss. Hope this helps
austin  Sep 09, 2015
A
Don't know about "best" but I really like them in my 2004 Colorado. I bought a whole set but only replaced the rears which were blown. The fronts still sound ok so did not bother to change them yet. These speakers are really clear on highs and mids, can't comment on lower frequencies since I have a sub for that. 2015+ Colorados were changed a lot though so not sure how these speakers would stack up against your stock sound system.

Mini Cooper Clubman 6 3/4" Kicker 40CS674 Im confused about requires minor alteration. What type of minor alteration would I need to do to install these speakers on the lower doors for the Mini Clubman?
miniclubmans  Jul 20, 2015
2 answers
A
Sorry, but do not know at all. BUT my experience with "minor alterations", turned out to be a simple process of using tabs a, b, or c, on an install; but that was a radio mounting. My guess possible hole needs to be drilled, or it is because of the exterior grill, instead of stock cover in car. Check a mini forum for more speaker detail information from others ?

Q
If I'm trying to replace my stock speakers with these is it a must that I buy a amp for them or will my stock stereo handle them fine?
jose  Aug 05, 2014
1 answer
A
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: These speakers are very efficient and will normally sound awesome with any factory radio but we'll need to know more info about your vehicle you'll be putting in because some factory systems use 2 ohm speakers. If your factory speakers are 2 ohm and you put the aftermarket 4 ohm you get twice the resistance or half the volume. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Replaced the front speakers of my 2012 Sonic with these, pleased so far but will be adding a second set for the rear and an amplifier to round things out.

Mine were installed in the front doors of 1998 Volvo V70 so no clue from me for Scott - but these are great speakers for the money - on mine way mounted had to retrofit factory enclosure ripping out original speaker as mounted and then remount speaker in enclosure with bolts
