I had high hopes for these, even though there were very few reviews when I got them for my kids 2001 Altima (few months ago). I see now there are mostly 5star reviews, but that hasn't been my experience. They're not terrible, but I was expecting more. They don't sound near as good as the similarly priced Kenwood 6x8s in my other kids car. The Kickers are running off a decent 4x50W Alpine amp, while the Kenwoods are running off a cheap Walmart Sony 4x50w amp. Both cars have a single 10" sub, (JL 10W3v3 in the other car, Infinity Perfect 10 in this one, both on decent amps, Rockford and Alpine). But try as I might with the gains, the x-overs, the levels and x-overs in the HU (JVC with 5v outs), I can't get a really nice full sound. they get loud, but it's too thin, no bass, and little mid - mostly loud treble. I would write it off as "shoulda got more expensive gear" but I know that a very similar setup, at similar prices is sounding a lot better in another car we own. It could be the amp, but I doubt it, Alpine makes a reasonable product, and it should take much power to drive 6.75" coaxials that are High Passed at 100hz. Ive tried running them straight through, no filter, and that doesn't help either. Maybe I'll try something different one day, see if it's the speakers. First thing I ever bought from Crutchfield that I haven't been delighted by.
Pros: easy fit, reasonable price, (not that cheap though)
Cons: thin sound, no bass little mids
