6"x9" 3-way car speakers
Our take on the Kicker 40CS6934 by Crutchfield's John Pollard
It's time for an upgrade
Upgrading the old factory speakers in your car will give you a huge bump in sound quality, and Kicker designed CS Series speakers to get your sound system rockin' without breaking the bank. You'll enjoy your music even more when you hear all the details that your muddy-sounding factory speakers couldn't begin to reproduce.
Kicker's 40CS6934 speaker set provides low-end from a tough 6"x9" polypropylene woofer, with a polyester foam surround that will stay strong for years to come. The 1/2" PEI balanced dome tweeter and 2" polypropylene midrange take care of the vocal and instrumental details that'll really bring your music to life. These speakers sound great powered by a factory radio or an aftermarket car stereo, and they'll really rock when connected to an external amplifier. Grilles are included.
These 6x9 speakers sound great. Would buy more if had the need.

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker CS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones, resistant to moisture and temperature extremes found in automotive applications.
Ribbed Polyester Foam Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.
Tweeters: Each speaker features a 1/2" PEI (Poly-Ether-Imide) balanced-dome tweeter; PEI is a polymer film that produces a wide soundstage for superior imaging. A semi-dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone. Balanced dome tweeters are semi-dome tweeters with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome portions of the tweeter.
2" Dome Midrange: The 2" dome midranges provide a strong response in the critical midrange band where the majority of the vocals are located.

If you purchased the product from Crutchfield, feel free to contact our Tech Support team. There can be several reasons for this. Sometimes it is an issue of under-powering the new speakers, but I doubt this is the case here. More likely it is a case of the speakers needing to break in, or possibly needing a better seal. 1 answer Hey. I have a 2001 dodge ram your outfit my car tool says it takes 6x9 on the front doors. But it also says these won't fit..... How come? Could I make them fit or is it not worth it ? Like when the speaker is on loud it will hit the door panel and sound like garbage ? Trying to find some 6x9s that will fit and sound like a 10inch sub. Will be changing all speakers and hooking up to amp. (Wanting to take actual sub out ) [ Aaron Nov 28, 2014 ]

The issue appears to be the height of the speakers. I'd recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone or online chat to discuss further if there are modifications you can perform to make these work. If not, then they can also help you pick out speakers that will fit. [ Jeff Dec 16, 2013 ] Staff
This will depend on your vehicle. Please reach out to an Advisor by phone or chat to discuss how these would mount into your vehicle, and any additional accessories you may need. [ Jeff Dec 04, 2013 ] Staff
I wasn't happy with the bass. As a matter of fact, I really don't think these are good rear speakers (which is what they were advertised as). I'm thinking of replacing them with better ones. [ KIMBERLY Dec 28, 2013 ]
It surprisingly has a nice bass! I think it's quite powerful. At times, I often mistaken it for my subwoofer's bass. Hope this helps [ ASHLEIGH E Dec 05, 2013 ]
It has impressive bass for a 6x9 speaker, but if you want real powerful bass, you need a powered subwoofer. For 6x9, these have good bass, though. [ JESSE Dec 05, 2013 ]
It puts out a good amount of bass. [ JEROME Dec 04, 2013 ]
It is not a powered speaker, and my point of comparison is the original, factory speakers, which were 20 years old, but they have a nice, rounded sound with the Kicker front speakers & they had the best overall specs of the speakers available from Crutchfield at the time (full 20 - 20 kHz range, RMS & peak power-handling). I Ann using the Kickers with a JVC stereo & no additional amplifier at the moment. Also, I installed a powered Infinity subwoofer in the trunk not long afterward, which obviously provides much more punch than a set of passive speakers could. Overall, I'm very happy with these speakers - the only reason I went with the Infinity (10") sub over a Kicker (8") sub is the Infinity had much better specs & Crutchfield was offering $$$ off at the time, which put them in the same price point. [ JIM Dec 04, 2013 ]
I would say it has a very solid bass response. My son has played some music with heavy bass and they definitely kick. No subwoofer thump, but they can rattle my rear view mirror enough that I see it move.Still loving the speakers! [ DANIEL J Dec 04, 2013 ]
I am not an expert on audio by any means, but I believe that for the price, the bass response and power is very good. [ LISA J Dec 04, 2013 ]
There full range with solid bass... [ BERTRAM Dec 04, 2013 ]
Yes. I am extremely pleased with the way these speakers sound. The bass is not overwhelming, and does not drown out the music. 6×9 is a massive speaker to begin with, so you better believe you get some nice sound. I got them on sale, but would buy them again at full price if they went out for any reason. Just make sure you have an amp that can supply enough power or else you'll be missing out on the full capability of these babies. [ Derek Dec 04, 2013 ]
Yes, deep and powerful, I have them on my rear deck and even when I have my sub off it still feels like it is on just a few notches down [ ROBERT Dec 04, 2013 ]
