Kicker technology at work

Kicker's 40CWS102 10" subwoofer features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone for hard-hitting lows without distortion, while the ribbed foam surround promotes long excursion and helps to keep the cone on target. The sub's steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and its extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

2-ohm impedance for more power

This sub handles 300 watts RMS to bring out the depth your music's been missing, and its 2-ohm impedance brings out max power from your mono amp. This versatile sub works well in sealed or ported enclosures, and it's even suitable for free-air applications.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 225 and 450 watts RMS at 2 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Big improvement over my old Alpine sub. Nothing wrong with the alpine just not a good match for the amp I had. The two ohms kicker gave me additional 150 watts. Sounds Great, never owned a kicker product before but it seems well built.

Great replacement for failed RF P300-10 driver

DadInGeorgia from Albany, GA on 8/6/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used this sub to replace a failed Rockford Fosgate P300-10 driver. I should have bought this in the first place. Much tighter bass for my Camaro and perfect complement to the factory Boston Acoustic audio system. It is far more efficient than the RF, as I'm getting cleaner sound and bass with about half of the amp gain I was using before. I'm tempted to get a second one and a good sealed box for my next audio upgrade.

Good Sub for Under $100

James S from Virginia on 1/18/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good sub for under $100. Clean bass that hits the tight bass notes and extended bass notes without any distortion. I'm only powering it with around 150w RMS since its in-cabin with me and it puts out solid bass. I'm sure with more power it would really pump. Sounds similar to my previous 10in JL which was about double the cost. My only complaint is the sub uses twin-female spade connectors for the speaker wire connections. That makes wiring it up a hassle since you have to split off the (+) and (-) wires from your amp into (Y)s and attach 2 female spade connectors to each. My previous JL just had spring posts which accepted bare wire.

Pros: Sound for the price. Classic, quality, brand. Looks nice.

Cons: Sub wiring requires female spade connectors.

Quality sub for the price point

Excellent sound quality, hooked up to kenwood amp powered by factory system. Components up front and 3 ways in the back...matched perfectly with the single sub.

Pros: Sounds great and easy to install, much better then the JL Audio I previously had that went out after 1yr.

Cons: None that I've noticed

excellent sound. Excellent price. Perfect for the set up I purchased

Pros: Excellent price, very good quality

Cons: Only issue I had was that it didn't fit in the stock bracket for the sub I was replacing the way it should have. A few holes drilled and some foam tape on the backside of the bracket and all set

Great product

Couldn't believe how much sound this small sub put out. Very impressed.

Pros: Minimal box size needed. Big sound with only a 250 RMS kicker amp.

Cons: None.

Great sound

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The crutchfield team recommended this sub to match my amp and type of music and they nailed it. The sub sounds awesome with a 300.1 kicker amp and it's not even turned up half way. Great product and fast shipping from crutchfield.

Pros: Sound, power handling

Cons: None

Kicker Comp 10"

Gil from Lincoln,Ca. on 1/18/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

BOOM. I searched and watched videos until the old me woke up and bass was found. I matched this 10 to a 300.1 kicker amp and sealed a box approximately 1.0qf of air space. I honestly think I am only running half of this amp right now and ac/dc sounds worthy to show all of the firends. This acura rsx is rocking. My hair is moving and I have the sub setting at -3.

Subwoofer Features
Enclosure Compatibility

Subwoofer Features

Ribbed Surround: The optimized ribbed polyurethane helps eliminate flex and distortion.

Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The durable Spiralead tinsel leads are woven into the woofer's spider, for added strength and reliability.

Steel Basket with Vented Pole Piece: The steel basket's vented pole piece and Kicker's Quad Venting slots contribute to the woofers' efficient cooling and durability.

Speaker Terminals: Each speaker terminal has two 0.25" push-on terminals (crimp-on quick slides included).

Enclosure Compatibility

Enclosure Versatility: The Kicker Comp subwoofer is versatile, performing well in vented or sealed enclosures, and in free-air applications.

Sealed Enclosures: A sealed enclosure design offers the smoothest response, with increased energy at the lowest frequencies (between 20 to 30 Hz).

  • Minimum enclosure volume: 1.0 ft³
  • Maximum enclosure volume: 2.4 ft³

Ported Enclosures: A ported (vented) enclosure design is typically more efficient than a sealed enclosure.

  • Minimum enclosure volume: 1.25 ft³ with a 1.5" x 10.5" slot port opening that is 14.5" deep
  • Maximum enclosure volume: 1.75 ft³ with a 1.5" x 10.5" slot port opening that is 13.25" deep

Infinite Baffle Mounting: The Kicker Comp subwoofers are also designed to be used as free-air drivers. The infinite baffle mounting method effectively utilizes the trunk of a sedan as the enclosure.
