A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 40TCWRT122 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 12" CompRT subwoofer behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy.

Kicker 40TCWRT122 12" sub enclosure

This thin enclosure can fit behind seats or in areas where space is tight.

Big bass from a CompRT sub

The 12" CompRT sub features a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and its sealed design keeps the bass punchy and accurate, without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.

This 12" kicker supplies plenty of bass for tight spaces. I have a 500 w JL Audio amp pushing it and it sounds great

Pros: Small space, great sound, easy install

Cons: None

If you are looking for a good fit for a truck its great sub. Quality is there no matter what any one says here if you set your gain correctly on amp and boost and put your crossover at 80hz thing slams and sounds amazing. i have it hooked to a mono alpine 500w rms although after setting gain correctly amp is only pushing about 250watt undistorted with peaks at 600watts so might upgrade amp later on to get full potential out of sub but perfect for what i want

Pros: loud when amp is set properly

Cons: non

Sounds awesome fits perfectly in my single cab truck deep bass great for the price and very simple to hook up.

Pros: Sounds great small size easy to use

Cons: Shape of box is a little weird if your trying to fit in a space with a seat In front of the box

Great Sound!

Speaker was purchased for my son's Jeep Wrangler and it fit perfect behind the back seat. Sounds great and hits hard!

Pros: A lot of sound out of a small box.

Cons: Small corner of the carpet was detaching from the box. little bit of glue and it was an easy fix.

Ok, but not exciting

I put this in my Jeep Wrangler. It's definitely small so it doesn't take up much space. Unfortunately, the frequency response isn't that great. Don't expect anything very low. For most music, it's average, but don't expect to push it very far. I'd compare it to 'premium' OEM stereo's, but nothing beyond that.

Kicker 12 RT

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put this in my new ram quad cab behind the back seat. I put a kicker 500 watt amp to for power! It hits hard for a shallow sub sounds great crisp loud and deep. I used to compete in Car Audio in my high school day Kicker was one of my faves. I ran 6 JL audio 12s in the bed of a F150 with the cab cut out so I know what deep bass and good sound is. I'm very happy with my choice its small and compact. I was truly amazed how good it sounds and how hard it hits for its smaller size.. MY friend just put in the new kenwood top of the line shallow 12 in his Chev off a 500 watt Rockferd amp and it don't even come close in sound or in bass and it cost 75$ more than the Kicker.

Pros: great sound hard hitting small package

Cons: non

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have yet to install this exact box and sub into my truck but I'm kicker for life. I have had a pair of comp vrs for over 8 years and they slam just as hard as the first day purchased. I'm waiting until I have the money to buy my pioneer GPS head unit so I can install the rest at the same time.

Pros: Great sound and quality materials. Reasonably priced for the quality of sound and bass produced.

Very nice sub

Can't handle any power

Kane from Milford de on 3/1/2014

I have a 500 watt amp and it has torn this sub apart twice with a break in period of of more then two weeks. It can't handle near the 800 rms it says it can i suggest a 400 watt amp max if you do get this but your better off getting something else.

Pros: Sounds clear while it works

Cons: So easy to blow. Can't handle any power it says it can

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this sub since it was the cheapest Slim fit that had more than 300W RMS ratings. This is my third sub on this amp, and i will never have to change it again. I am using an Alpine 500W RMS @2ohm amp and the bass overpowered to highs with stock speakers. I can't wipe the smile off my face.

Pros: Compact, powerful

Cons: none

Pounding Bass

Tony from Pacoima, Ca on 7/13/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I already had an amp from a previous system in my GMC Yukon and needed something with better space efficiency. This speaker proved to be more than what I anticipated. I just placed it securely in my rear cargo area and hooked it up and I was immediately impressed by it's sound. The mirrors rattle and everything shakes. But it is not overwhelming. Very powerful bass and clean. Highly recommend.

Pros: Everything. box is great.

Cons: None at this time.

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual (standard 3/4" width) banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 40TCWRT122 enclosure uses one 12" CompRT subwoofer, wired to present a 2Ω load.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompRT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

It should fit fairly nice. I had it in a Crew Cab 2007 Tundra and only lost one notch on the seat. Hope that helps. It's a nice sounding sub. [ Michael  Mar 19, 2016 ]
I had a chevy 1500 work truck and I stood the sub up and it for behind the middle seat but if you put it sideways like its suppose to go the woffer will hit the back of the seat [ JOHN  Mar 19, 2016 ]
I believe so. [ Anthony  Feb 09, 2016 ]
It will fit with some modification. Two metal tabs on the aft bulkhead and a bolt on the floor that I believe is for the jack will have to be removed. With those removed, it will fit in the center between the pressure equalizers and it has plenty of clearance from the seats. Mine is 2500HD and I don't know if the standard 2500 is different. [ JEREMY  Feb 09, 2016 ]
I wondered the same thing about my 2013 gmc 3/4T crew cab... I ultimately decided that it PROBABLY wouldn't fit behind the seat... Might have been because it fit under the seat so perfectly. [ Spencer  Feb 09, 2016 ]
Yes it should [ CHELSEA  Jul 09, 2015 ]
THis box sounds great under my back seat of my Toyota Tundra. Running on a 600w kicker amp. I would believe you will enjoy it in your Honda. If you're looking for extreme loud bass then it might not be your best option. If you want a medium good sounding bass this will work. I would recommend two 12s regular size for extreme bass. Or I would assume two of these on a 1600 watt amp would be nice and a bit loud. [ Sean  Jul 09, 2015 ]
Yes, i have this box in a 03 honda civic and it gives me just the right amount of bass to blend in with my aftermarket speaker. ( pair of Hertz Energy 6.5 components and Hertz Energy 6x9, powered by an alpine pdx 4 channel) doesn't give up a lot of trunk space [ DAMIEN N  Jul 09, 2015 ]
Don't know. It didn't work for a 2003 Ford F150 so we returned it. [ Johnson Massage  Jul 09, 2015 ]
hi Alex; I can`t answer this question because I install this on a expedition, because the size. just I can tell you the bass from this kicker is very very good. I also got on town and country 02( the same box) kicker 250 rms between the third row and the rack and you can feel the bass. good luck [ JOSE  Mar 15, 2015 ]
Hi there, not sure if this will help but this were a perfect fit for the space behind my 2012 ram megacab, also with elec rear sliding window, btw very impressed with this subs [ SAMUEL  Mar 10, 2015 ]
Hi Alex This was returned as it did not fit in the 2003 Ford F150 due to fitting problems. Sorry can't be of more help - good luck. [ Johnson Massage  Mar 09, 2015 ]
I put the 12 under the back seat of a f150 supercrew and it was just a little too big. The 10 inch fit completely under the seat---this is on the f150 supercrew. [ John  Jul 09, 2015 ]
