You love listening to epic, soul-shaking tunes in your ride, but your factory speakers make every song sound like a 60's garage band. Replace those worn-out speakers with some Kicker DS Series models, and get the performance and reliability you deserve.

Fantastic on top of two Rockford P3s

NanoDrive from New Prague, MN on 6/29/2013

I purchased these a couple weeks before throwing two 12s in my 4dr, 2003 Grand Am. I have the 6 speaker system, all originally Delco stock. I'm using a cheap Pioneer DEH-5500, and no amp, and they sound amazing. With my HPF set to 125hz or 160hz, depending on the genre, and the subs catching everything lower, these things are clear as can be. I did notice that the stock 6x9s actually produced more bass than these, but they don't compare to these Kickers in sound quality. Doesn't really affect me since I have the subs. A great buy if you have little desire to pull bass out of them.

Pros: -Super clean mids and highs when used with a high pass filter -Look great -Really durable -Easy install

Cons: -Less bass than my stock systems 6x9s -A little more casing around the magnet would be nice

Sound amazing.

Sound amazing without an amp, even better with one.

Pros: Amazingly clear and crisp. Worth every penny.

Cons: Huge magnets, had to hammer in wheel wells. They Take a lot of power from deck and dim the display. So use an amp :)

Adam P from Southgate, KY on 7/16/2012

Wow these speakers are amazing. The first thing i noticed was how heavy these things are. The magnet was nearly three times bigger than the pioneers i had originally installed and sound about ten times better. They are wired straight to my Kenwood deck @ 22 watts rms and still have killer bass and magnificent highs. The mids are just where they should be as well. So if your not planning to amp your speakers, get these. You wont regret it!

Pros: Build quality you can literally feel. Fantastic bass, mids and highs. Terrific value!

Cons: The tweeters stick up pretty far, so i ended up having to mod my rear deck cover but no big deal. It actually looks even nicer now.

needs amp to sound good

2001 Toyota Camry
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

i installed these kickers into the rear deck of my 2001 camry with a 22w rms JVC head unit. they sound pretty good. the only catch to them is that if you turn them up past 80% volume you will experience distortion because they need 70w rms in order to run properly at high levels. unless you are planning on amping them (like i am going to do sometime in the near future) or you're just not gonna turn them up loud, i would NOT recommend them. they are still a good product, however, they just need an amp. and i did confirm all these facts with crutchfield tech support.

Pros: good sound, decent amount of bass. pretty affordable

Cons: in order to turn them up to high volumes, you're gonna NEED an amp to supply more power

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put the 6x9 s. In the rear of my 96" Olds witch by the way I built at K.C. They should have put these speakers in here from the assembly process. They rock, only Crutchfield could deliever this kind of sound, thank you.

Pros: Awsome sound.

Cons: Instructions are wrong you have to install them from the bottom and they do fit with a hole.

Fantastic Speakers

Praetorian57 from Harrisburg, PA on 1/28/2012

I love these speakers! I have 4 of them In my 05 Dodge Magnum R/T and they pound. The rest of my setup is 2 3.5" Kicker KS in the front, and 2 Kicker 12" Comps all run by a Kicker 750 watt amp. People hear me from a 1/2 mile away! KICKER LIVIN LOUD!

Pros: Crystal clear, good bass

Cons: none

Outstanding recommendation

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Chad, my Crutchfield adviser, recommended these for the back deck of my 97 Camry. I was on a budget, and needed the best I could get. Chad was right - these are perfect to match the Kicker 11DS652 speakers in front. I am really wowed by the clarity and the bass output. Thanks Chad.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are the best speakers I have ever heard they are truly amazing. I was going to pick up a sub and amp but really don't need to these 6X9's thump like crazy. I highly recomend putting these in any thing you drive. I have a civic with a full aftermarket system and these 6X9's in my jeep sound just as good and are just "replacement" speakers for the stock units

Great Sound!

Paramedic from Concord, CA on 3/13/2011

I don't have these exact speakers. I got the last line before they redid them only difference is they are discontinued and only has 50 watt output but otherwise the same speaker. My Saab has cut outs for 6x9 in rear deck took out the cheap 4in pioneer speakers in rear that u could see through cone that how cheap they were. Anyway, very, very easy self installation and wow! What a sound difference! High notes are a thousand times clearer bass isn't distorted at loud volumes they are awesome and have great bass to them. Pepboys carries kickers if u want to hear them in action. Great speakers at a great price. Bought more to replace all my speakers with kickers!

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker DS-series speakers feature durable polypropylene woofer cones for power and control. Polypropylene woofers are also resistant to moisture and high temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Ribbed Polyester Foam Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.

1/2" PEI Balanced-dome Tweeters: The 1/2" PEI balanced-dome tweeters provide a smooth high frequency response with quick, detailed and spatially-correct imaging. PEI is an acronym for polyetherimide. The tweeters have strong neodymium magnets for higher power handling.
