Wow. For a 6x9 this things are bangin'. Amazing these put out that much bass. Recommend you push the limit of the RMS rating. These are power hungry if you want them to put out max bass. I have them running on a 50 watt rms amp with the bass boost turned on and all settings flat. With that they hit plenty hard. No sub needed

Pros: Great bass for the size.

Cons: Mid range a tad missing.

Got these for my 03 Mazdaspeed protege, note that the Mazdaspeed protege does not have 6x9s from the factory but the mounting brackets are there not the wiring though you will need to run wire to the back to have sound. Scary hugh magnets, good heavy magnets. Extremly well built, sounds amazing. What can I say Kickers are great.

Pros: Great bass, decent highs and loves to be kranked up. Will not break up under pressure. Large magnets

Cons: Mids are lacking a little bit but not enough to cause problems, large magnets.

Great Sound

Terrific bass response from the Kicker KS69. I was measuring levels down to 50Hz. I am using the Kenwood Excelon KDC-X597 as a head unit and the built in amp has plenty of power for my 99 Civic. I have these paired with the Kicker 40CSS654 in the front and couldn't be happier. The install was a little tricky simply because of the design of the car but otherwise thrilled with the purchase.

Pros: Fantastic mids and lows. Lots of power and handles broad range of frequencies.

Cons: Little tricky installing in 1999 Honda Civic

These speakers fit in perfectly, and have an amazing sound. They'll let you know how loose your door cards really are, and you may even consider not even needing an additional subwoofer for the trunk

Pros: Easy installation, great price, huge driver

Cons: None as of yet. Had 'em since last december.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are great speakers! I bought them for my Honda Civic and they fit great, no alterations needed, and the sound even better! The Kicker speakers have great lows and highs while the mid range is very similar to the factory speakers that I had previously (it is hard to mess up the mid range even on factory sets). But they were a great upgrade to my earlier pair. They are 100%worth the money and I would purchase more speakers from Kicker! 5 Stars! I have had these for about a month now and they still perform great with the pioneer stereo that I bought from these guys and they have a great high volume ability. All my friends believe that I purchased a sub in my car when it's my 6x9 Kicker speakers.

Pros: Highs, Lows, Price, Loudness, Ease of installation, Just about everything

Cons: Mids aren't anything too different but still good

Great speakers, friends thought i had a sub!

wow these guys are great, i have them paired with an aftermarket sony receiver which gives out only 17w RMS and these things sound like i have a huge sub in the trunk! after a lot of tweaking of the settings in my receiver, they were perfect. my 16 year old friend was shocked that they were just 6x9s, and the mids and highs are great. i even put them on top of a layer of dynamat xtreme and my rear deck is still vibrating! my rear view mirror will go crazy if a certain frequency hits. i have a '96 honda civic sedan

Pros: handles lows great, very powerful speakers

Cons: none that i know of yet

Used in rear deck of my 1969 camaro. I did not know what would be the best speaker to use. Allen was very helpful and recomended I use the Ks69. I ran these directly off a pioneer head unit, I did not want to use any amps. Once I hooked them up and adjusted the radio, they sound pretty good. Overall I am happy.

Pros: Direct fit in 1969 camaro. Sound good.

Cons: Hardware was missing from box, but they sent it right away.

These speakers perform exactly as I expected. I listen to lots of pipe organ, symphony, and jazz music. It's nice to hear the low bass notes now!

Pros: Excellent sound. Crisp highs, reinforced lows.

Cons: These speakers don't really fit as well as indicated on the website. Only 2 of the 4 mounting holes line up, and they protrude about 1/2 "" too much off the rear deck to use the factory grills (as instructed). I think I can modify the grills to fit without damaging them.

Great base!

These speaker were easy to install (though the mounting holes did not line up perfectly in my 96 Mazda Protege) and provided great bass. I think they'd be better with more power (I'm not using an amp) but I'm really pleased for the price.

Pros: Great bass.

Cons: None, really...

I have had these speakers in my Civic for over a year now . I have installed aftermarket audio in 5 of my vehicles over the years . The only speakers that impressed me more was the Boston Acoustics components I put in my old Mustang . I would make two suggestions for those looking to purchase these 1) Aftermarket HU these things crave power . 2) Although an aftermarket HU is good you should really hook these up to an amp to get the most from them . I would definetly buy these again and HIGHLY reccomend them

Pros: Outstanding value

Cons: none

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I previously was running Rockford Fosgate Punch P-652 components in the front doors of my Xterra with an Alpine amp pushing 45 rms, and the bass response was nonexistent, mids were poor, and highs were fantastic. Sound quality was very good but i wanted something that was a little bit more well rounded. I was hesitant to switch to a coaxial speaker though, but friends always said great things about Kicker products and since the front doors fit 6x9's i figured it was worth a shot. Wow. I can't even describe how much better these sound than the Fosgate components that cost twice as much. These wont win any SQ competitions, but highs, mids and lows are all clearly defined and I just can't imagine getting more sound for the money. Also, these have the best bass response i have ever heard come out of a coaxial speaker. If you have a 6x9 opening in your car, i would give these a shot. Prepare to come away impressed.

Pros: Bass response, a lot of bang for the buck

Cons: Highs aren't as crisp as previous components, but that was to be expected.

These are a great upgrade to any oem system. The woofer cones put out so much bass, when I added a small 8 inch sub the difference was very minute in bass response. All of my friends are impressed with the sond they produce. Also durable, I've put them to the test many times and I get very little distortion before it gets uncomfortable to be in the car. Tweeters add crisp high notes.

Pros: Everything. Looks, Sounds, performance and durability

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these Kicker 6x9s to replace the factory speakers in the rear deck of my 2006 Honda Accord. So far I am happy, mid bass is tighter with overall more vocal and instrument clarity. Nice upgrade, about what I expected, not overly impressed but that is probably more due to the fact that these could benefit from more clean power from an amp than what the factory deck is providing.

Pros: Nice large tweeter, efficient enough to replace oem speakers running straight from factory receiver.

Cons: Probably need an amp to really get the most out of these. Also, these speakers are too high and the factory grills had to be modified with lots of plastic trimming so they could be reused.

Best Bang for your Bucks Upgrade

Rafael from Laurel, MD on 6/3/2012

These speakers are the easiest and cheaper way to improve your sound system. My installation was for a Honda Accord Coupe 2003 to 2007. They sound way better than the factory speakers providing clear lows and highs. But, there are two things that you should be aware of before installing them. First, the factory speaker cover has to be trimmed to fit with the new speakers. Nothing hard to accomplish if you have a small rotary tool with a cutting disc. Second, only two of the four mounting screws line up with the new speakers. Luckily, these screws are cross patterned so your speakers will be mounted solid and will not rattle.

Pros: Sound Clarity and Construction

Cons: None

1997 Civic LX Sedan Rear Speaker Replacement

Jim from Houston, TX on 4/30/2012

Replaced the paper cone factory 6x9s located in the rear deck with these. Also upgraded the fronts at the same time with some shallow-mount Infinitys. HU is an aftermarket Sony (CDX-GT740UI) that I installed a couple of years ago (which improved the sound coming from the factory speakers). The sound quality of these speakers is very good (esp for the price) even just running off the HU - I can turn up the volume louder than I could with the original speakers. The "stuffiness" of the original speakers is gone. An external amp would make these things really sing (true for any aftermarket speaker upgrade to provide clean power and avoid amp clipping), but that's a purchase for a later date. For now, I am happy with these. The installation was easy - the screw holes lined up with the original ones in my deck and the speaker wiring harness adapter from Crutchfield made the wiring a snap (literally). I did add some foam along the edge of the speaker between the mating surface and the metal deck and also along the outer edges of the plastic deck covering to prevent some rattles (which seems to be working). Once an amp is in place, vibration damping material will be needed, most likely (the metal deck skin is awfully thin....), but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. For now - very happy!

Pros: sound quality, runs well off an aftermarket HU power, easily installed (in my car)

Cons: none yet

Just Awesome

2004 Buick LeSabre
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this set of speakers in the rear deck of my 04' Buick LeSabre to replace the factory paper cones. The installation was fairly straight forward, though the rear deck cover was a pain to remove. The speakers fit the factory insert perfectly but the magnets hang down a bit too low to clear the trunk lid tension bars... Spacers are needed to achieve this. I could not be more pleased with the results for the money - these speakers sound awesome! I actually have the bass on my head unit turned down to level 2 (out of 6) because any higher is just too much bass for most music. I listen to everything from classical to pop to rock and all sound fabulous over the Kickers. These speakers are powered by the factory head unit, which is nothing special (GM / Delco brand). The Crutchfield tech told me that my factory unit would not provide enough power and most likely distort, though I have not found that to be the case. Buy these speakers (or anything from Kicker, for that matter). You will not be disappointed.

Pros: Awesome bass! Crystal clear sound. Didn't break the budget.

Cons: Highs could be a bit crisper but honestly a non issue for the price.

Amazing speakers for the dollar!

Damien from San Antonio, TX on 3/25/2012

I bought these to replace the worn OE rear speakers on my 99 Civic hatch. I liked how they sounded on the store demo and the price was within my budget. The quality is very good and they fit right in with no modifications. When I turned on the radio I could tell a difference right away. The sound was much more crisp with better high notes. The bass is also there and it doesnt distort the mids or highs. If you dont want a subwoofer but dont want to miss out on bass I would recommend these. Of course they wont rattle your mirrors but they have such good sound quality you wont believe theyre this affordable. Aftermarket speakers usually dont play bass notes since they are meant to be paired with a woofer but these play low notes! I have factory speakers in the front and I cant even tell theyre there anymore. Sometimes I mess with the fader to see if my fronts are even working! 4 years later I have them in a 97 Accord and they still sound great. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a cheap but good upgrade. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN AFTERMARKET RADIO WITH THESE. The factory radio will not pump enough power to hear the sound quality these can produce.

Pros: Perfect fit great highs great mids great lows for an aftermarket speaker Lasted me 4 years and still going

Cons: None so far. Keep in mind they are higher than factory speakers. The factory speaker grille on my 97 Accord doesnt seal completely, im only using the 2 side screws but it still works fine. On the 99 Civic the top grill didnt interfere.

The speakers were installed into the rear deck of my 1999 Honda Accord. Installation was pretty easy. Two of the four screwholes aligned with the holes in the Honda. The other two screws were drilled into the speaker from the trunk side of the deck using self tapping screws. The sound is clean and a huge improvement over the worn out factory speakers.

I bought these speakers spur-of-the-moment, and couldn't be happier. The bass they give isn't distorted and the mids are very clear. I have them installed in the rear deck of my car, right next to my new Kenwood 3-way 4"speakers. Together these speakers work perfect, covering all ranges. P.S. My headunit gives these speakers a nice amount of power (about 50w rms) so keep that in mind when buying these. I can't wait to get an amp and use them to their true potential!

Pros: Bass Design Clarity Price

Cons: Little bit hard to fit correctly. Crutchfield sent the wrong adapter (got it to work).

Keiff.T. from Erie,PA on 11/27/2011

Installed these as a factory replacement in my 92 beretta. Unamped they where nice and chrisp but lacked lower mid and low freqs. Once amped these speakers perform vary well. Knowing these are not bass oriented drivers, the lack of extreme lows is understandable, and expected. If your looking for a tight, good high to lower mid range 6x9, these are the ticket.

Pros: Awesome mid to high range, Tight response even at high volume levels

Cons: Didn't come with a subwoofer

After a year and a half of subpar sound in my 99 civic i finally decided to upgrade my speakers. I had never done it before and had no idea what i was looking for... that is until a friend directed me to crutchfield. They made its so easy to find what would work in my car and i came across these. After readin the reviews i decided they would be worth the price... and after a week ive realized how much of an understatement that was! They sound absolutely INCREDIBLE. Clear as can be with some pretty decent bass. Theyre so loud i cant even hear my front speakers! Even my friend, who has been installing this stuff in cars for years, said these sound better than his. Thank you crutchfield!

Grand Cherokee Infinity Replacement

Ron L. from Chesterfield, VA on 10/6/2011

1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

After a bit of research, I chose these Kickers to replace the partially blown factory 6x9s in the front doors of my 99 Grand Cherokee with the Infinity Gold system. The specs show these to have about the lowest frequency response of most 6x9 full range speakers, and since the factory system used this door location as low freq. woofers, I thought that it was a good choice. Unfortunately, I get the exact same distortion that I was getting out of my partially blown factory 6x9s with only moderate bass and moderate volume. I'm thinking that I would have been better off buying the cheap quality paper cone replacements from the dealer. They worked fine for years. Very disappointed.

Great Sounding Speakers!

BrianT from Macon, GA on 9/3/2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Car - 2007 Honda Accord Coupe Pros: These speakers sound great, especially with the KS600 in the door and an amp pushing them! The sound is rich and very clear, 100 times better than factory. Cons: The only problem is fitting these in, the holes in the speaker do not exactly line up with the holes in the rear deck on an 07 Accord. Also, the factory grille cover will not snap down over the speakers if you mount them from the top(unless, you do some trimming to the grille). The solution was to get a drill open the holes in the speaker up a bit and mount them from underneath, a real pain, but well worth the improvement over the factory speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These 6x9s ROCK. I outift my 2005 Honda Accord with KS6.2's in the front doors and these KS69's in the rear deck above the trunk. I left head unit stock, to simplify my upgrades. The combination of an all-Kicker speaker setup is simply incredible. My factory speakers were muddled and washed out, with no reasonable definition. I knew every crescendo, thump, and hi-hat hit in my tunes, having listened to them for years, and these speakers brought all of those sounds right back to life. These Kicker speakers catch ALL the details, and push out sound like there's no end to it! If you want sound clarity/accuracy, detail, warmth or richness, and power, look no further. Simply comparing the magnet sizes (and overall weight) of the Kicker speakers with the stock [cheap] speakers is enough to know that you're going to be in for some seriously great music! I highly recommend these high-quality and excellent-sounding speakers for any application. Have no fear, your system WILL sound awesome.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just installed these in a 1997 Honda Accord. Royal pain to install; the holes do not line up well and are not slotted to allow for any tweaking of the position. Fixed with a Dremel and a lot of fine tuning, but the mount points are pretty standard and these don't line up well at all. As for the performance, nice clean sound but less bass than I expected. They are very tight and sound good, but I opted for these hoping for a little more low-end punch. I am still tweaking the settings, but some of the bass response may be due to a new head unit and a learning curve. They are very well balanced, but are not really big bass producers. I would buy these again, just be aware they may require some power tool intervention to mount.
