About the Kicker CompRT 43TCWRT122

Bob Bihlmayer

A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 43TCWRT122 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 12" CompRT subwoofer and a second passive sub behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy. The second sub (called a "passive radiator") reacts to the air pressure produced by the active sub, creating lots more bass without producing any port noise.

Big bass from a CompRT sub

The 12" CompRT sub features a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and its sealed design keeps the bass punchy and accurate, without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals (one pair) are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs (3/4" width), or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 43TCWRT122 enclosure uses one 12" CompRT series subwoofer and one 12" passive radiator.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompRT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Dimensions:

  • Width: 27-3/8"
  • Height: 13-5/8"
  • Depth (base): 6-7/8" (7-5/8" including the subwoofer)
  • Depth (top): 3-1/2" (4-1/4" including the subwoofer)

Yes you can.

How would it sound on the trunk of a Dodge charger?

It all depends on factors of, amp, and wiring. But it sounds good in a Jeep hooked to an alpine so It should be great for your truck

Q
Will this work well with an infinity kappa k4 amp?
mike  Nov 15, 2017
1 answer
A
The Infinity Kappa K4 model is probably not the "ideal" amp choice for the Kicker CompRT 43TCWRT122 sub box. For more help on selecting a suitable amplifier, please contact an Advisor directly by phone (888.955.6000) or online chat. They'll be happy to find the right amp for you! :)

Q
Will this fit in a 2003 Ford 150 supercrew without me having to modify the resr seats?
fifth  Oct 28, 2017
1 answer
A
I don't know about a 2003 I have it in a 2016 F150 four-door behind the rear seats. I did have to do quite a few modifications. I had to remount the rear power window motor. Cut off the sinner seatbelt boat and have it welded on instead. And I had to a cut out quite a bit of the factory liner that was on the back firewall. But they sound awesome and you can't even see them and they take up no floor space. Not sure if that helps any but good luck.

Q
will this fit under the seat of a 2014 silverado crewcab?
john  Sep 18, 2017
1 answer
A
I believe it will, it's fits behind the seats of a 2008 chevy silverado regular cab, so it's pretty small.

Q
What size amplifier would I need to power 3 of these?
alex  Aug 22, 2017
1 answer
A
At 500 watts per woofer At least 1500 watts to push them a little over your max wattage for all speakers is better than under wattage

Q
What exactly does the passive radiator do? I'm looking at either this, the 40TCWRT124 or the 40TCWS102. I'm looking for the best sound, most sound, value trifecta like everyone else I imagine. However, using the old addage of "more inches = more sound" i'm wondering if the passive radiator isn't the way to go. Right now I'm looking to push it with a Kicker CX600.1 RMS amp. Thanks!

Q
What amp pairing would be best for this? I have a CX600.1 already and am just wondering if I should change. I'm looking for a configuration where I can utilize the full 600 watts.

Q
Anyone know if this will fit behind the back seats of a toyota tacoma 2nd gen? i have a 2005 so i think its the same from 2005 to 2012.

I don't have measurements of the space behind the seat of a regular or access cab. Our research department determined there is no room for a subwoofer behind those. The doublecab might fit it, but it will be close. The bottom depth is an inch more on this box than what we measured can easily fit there. The top of the box should be ok. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this box because of that and suggest you call an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for a personal recommendation on a subwoofer system for your pickup. Q
2 ohm or 4 ohm is better?
george  Sep 15, 2016
1 answer
A
Neither are inherently better than the other. You have these choices so you can better match an amp that you already own. For example, if you have not purchased an amp and you are getting one subwoofer, you should get the 2 ohm version and an mono amp as that will help you get the most out of your money. You can call an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for additional help and a personal recommendation. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101
