Could be a dangerous instruction

Evan M. from Bolingbrook, IL on 7/14/2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The first issue that I have is the instructions that stated the last thing to do was to install the fuse; however without the fuse installed the two fuse mounting terminals could slide together creating an unfused connection to the end of the wire. If it then touched ground there would be a big problem. The last step should always be connecting the negative terminal of the battery and the only step before that should be the connection of the power wire to the positive side of the battery and the step before that should be installing the fuse! The cable was JUST long enough to install the amp to the underside of the rear deck of my Camry. Why not make it a few feet longer (especially at 70 bucks). That said it seems like good quality stuff and works well.
[Editor's Note: The instructions that currently come with the Power Station state in the last step: "Reconnect the negative battery terminal and enjoy!" We apologize if your instructions stated otherwise.]

Everything But...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this kit along with all new speakers and amp to go in my 1967 Firebird. The directions were clear, and instalation was strait forward. The power cable, ground cable, fuse, and connecters were all there and worked fine. The only thing that I was disappointed in was patch cables. One of them would cut out unless i held it in place, and didn't seem to fit tight enough. I ended up buying a new patch cable of the same brand just better quality, and it works great.

Great wiring kit, includes everything you need. Cables are more than long enough. I had twice as much wire as I needed to intall this under the seat of my '03 Civic Coupe. Only complaint is the butt connector for the remote turn on wire. I have a general dislike for these things. I wish the kit would come with a Posi-lock connector. They are much more durable and hold the wires more sercurely.
