Decent kit but design flaw with the inline fuse. Can't tighten both screws before securing the housing.

Pros: Decent kit for the price.

Cons: Design flaw with securing inline fuse.

Works great

Cons: Kit doesn't come with the RCA cables

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Following a few attempts to work with the connectors I used my own professional grade connectors and heat shrink, much better. The fuse holder is a strange device at best but I made it work. I have a trunk mounted battery and amplifier so the power run is nice and short. The blue antenna trigger wire is plenty long to reach into the cabin at the head unit. If this kit only included the RCA preamp out cables it would be the perfect installation kit. I would purchase this kit again for future projects.

Pros: Overall the wiring is of good quality and has low resistance when tested with an OHM meter. Plenty of wire is supplied in this kit as well.

Cons: The enclosed spade connectors did not easily fit onto my amplifier. The provided insulation on the connectors was low quality and did not seal tightly following crimping.

Does the job

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The kit works fine to deliver power. Just remember to get RCA wires. The set screws for the fuse (allen head) gave me no troubles, but I have both English and metric allen wrenches (sorry, I don't recall which set I needed).

Pros: Good 8-gauge wire. The set screws for the fuse (allen head) gave me no troubles.

Cons: Odd fuse.

Works but could be better.

This kit well definitely get your system up and running but really needs some upgrades. The hardware supplied is not the greatest so I used my own personal connectors.

Pros: Complete kit in one box, speaker and power wires are good quality, and easy to set up.

Cons: Hardware needs to be upgraded, fuse casing is somewhat confusing, directions not very clear.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchase this for a Alpine MRV-M500 amp. Did not want to spend a fortune on the wiring kit. This one fit my needs. Fair quality, appropriate for the price. Powers the amp just fine.

Pros: Price

Cons: Need to purchase RCA cables separately.

Meh, worked in the end

Bdsn from Anchorage, AK on 3/7/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Had a lot of trouble with this. The instructions were almost gibberish, the connectors they included were junk, the one for the battery was not the right size (thanks crutchfield), so I had to get to an auto parts store after ripping my car apart for the install. It worked in the end, but it took a couple hours more than it should have. Would probably buy this locally next time.

Pros: Worked in the end.

Cons: Instructions, connectors.

Not bad but could be better

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The package contains a couple connectors, the stated wiring, and a nice fuse holder however the fuse is an odd style so I'm worried about finding a replacement if it ever blows. Also, the screws on the fuse holder used hold the fuse in are non-standard allen style. I ended up using a torq style screwdriver to tighten the connections. Other than that, the wire length was sufficient for my son's 2102 Civic 4 door sedan with room to spare.

Pros: Sufficient wire included in the package

Cons: non-standard connections on the fuse, odd shaped fuse that may be hard to find, no tools included in kit to properly fit the odd screws

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I gave this a 4 stars generally because the fuse to me is shotty the way you have to install it. IMO, you don't have a hook fuse on a tube screw tight connector because you can't get your driver in there to screw down the fuse tight and then insert it into the sealed cylinder. So basically I have a semi loose fuse in my fuse holder...not a good idea IMO of course.Anyhow, its a quality kit.

Pros: Good build quality, inexpensive

Cons: Fuse holder needs to be changed or use different fuses.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you are expecting a whole kit - this just goes back to the same old adage, if something is too good to be true . . . What did I expect for the price?, but just remember that the price WILL go up if you use this kit. Mine ended up being just over $80 when done as I spent $35 on some decent RCA leads and then went and got better terminal ends as the ones this kit had were not to my liking as even with a good crimp tool I was not confident that they would keep a solid hold and connection to the cables.

Pros: Just know what you are getting, if you prefer to pick your own RCA leads instead of buying whatever comes in a kit, this is a good option. Mainly because there are not too many that offer this. In the end, I am more satisfied and have better looking and sounding cables going into the amp.

Cons: the terminal ends were cheap and I ended going to a store that installs to get better ones.

Good product for the price, but what's with the fuse?

Steve H from Nashua, NH on 9/7/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've got a 300 watt rms amp and this does the job just fine, once you can figure out the fuse. I've never seen the style fuse used in this product and I have to be honest, I am not sure where I can find another one if it blows. I think I will end up purchasing a different inline fuse eventually. I knew the package didn't include RCA's and wasn't an issue anyways since I am keeping the OEM head unit and tapping into the speaker channel.

Pros: Does the trick. Inexpensive.

Cons: Fuse is odd, can't think of a place to purchase more if it blows.

Just what i needed

Little pricey but good wires. No rca cables but no problem for me as i am using high imputs to my amp.

Pros: Well made

Cons: No rca cables

Don't forget your RCA cables...

Jason from Redmond, WA on 6/29/2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you're going to get this kit make sure you don't forget to pick up RCA cables as well... I ordered this and didn't realize it didn't come with RCA cables. I pulled the interior out of my Subaru before checking the package, then halfway through the install realized that I now have to make a drive into the city to pick up some RCA's ... Pretty frustrating.

Decent Price, Better then Expected

Josh from Cedar Falls, IA on 6/2/2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a decent wiring kit, everything is the right size, they don't label it 8 guage and give you 10... Its got some very nice extras that come along with it. I would recommend this for anyone looking to put in any type of sub or subs that are not above about 400rms, great kit, does the job
