Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this kit to go along with the CA1153 install on my '93 Mustang which has Reverse Polarity (5 wire) door locks. The instructions that come with the kit are basically just diagrams for the different types of lock systems it supports. The instructions for the XpressKit 451M that Crutchfield also carries are more clear, where it has diagrams as well as info for where each wire should be connected. The wire colors are the same between the two so that helped me alot in installation. Once everything was wired up the locks work perfectly with the remote so overall I'm happy

Pros:

Cons: Instructions could be a little more detailed for a first time installer

Features

Overview: The Code Alarm DLRKP door lock module will allow you to interface with all typical factory electric door lock circuits using 5-wire switching (polarity reversal) and 3-wire switching (both positive-switched and negative-switched). When properly configured for your vehicle, it will control the door lock circuit. The DLRKP can also be used to control aftermarket door lock actuators like the DA-1 (item number 220DA1, sold separately) and DA-2 (item number 220DA2, sold separately).

Mounting Location: The control module is typically mounted under the dashboard, in a central location where you can access the door lock wires. In addition, the included 3-pin interconnect harness will be routed and plugged into the mating connector of the controlling Code Alarm keyless entry module or car alarm.

Systems Requiring an Actuator: Some vehicles (typically Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, Volvo, Saab and Subaru) use a central locking system that utilize a mechanical lever in the driver's door which manually moves an electric switch by the key outside or the lever inside, causing all other doors to lock or unlock, depending upon the direction the key is turned or the lever is moved. In these applications, a door lock actuator, such as the Code Alarm DA-1 (item number 220DA1, sold separately), is required. The DA-1 will replicate the action of the outside key or inside lever.
