i love it!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ok, I have had Sirius satellite radio now for a long time, even before Howard Stern came on board. I have it in both my car and home. I used a Starmate receiver for my home even though it is primarily meant as an aftermarket add on for your car. I have an Onkyo receiver that I played the Starmate through. Then the Starmate died. So I decided to spend a few bucks more and get this unit. I simply hooked the SRH2000 up to my Onkyo and WOW. It is amazing. The sound quality is WAY BETTER than with the Starmate. I never knew there would be a difference. Totally worth the money! Great product.

Pros: Sound quality, great looking.

Cons: The only con consists of the buttons. The front of the unit is smooth with the exception of the power button. So for the station selectors, it can be a little tricky. i would not let this deter you from getting the unit. After all, you turn the thing on, set it to a station that suits your mood, and then you are all set. I don't switch stations at home like I do in my car. Its still a great unit.

Great sound!

Sirius receiver SR-H2000

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you have stereo setup similar to mine; preamp, amp, speakersyou can connect the SR2000-H and receive satellite radio. Of course you need an account with SiriusXM and you need an outdoor antenna such as the SXHA1. I like the music and programming from satellite and this does a really good job. All things considered it is not expensive.

Pros: It does just what I need.

Cons: None

Very Nice Tuner

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My primary XM tuner was a mobile XR9 that I use for camping and other outside the house events and it sounds really good, but I wanted something dedicated for my home audio system, somthing I could run through my external D/A converter using the SRH2000's digital coaxial output...I saw this on Crutchfield but it had no reviews, I figured what the heck if Crutchfield sells it I'll try it. I'm very impressed to say the least. I also bought one of those cool little outdoor antennas, looks like a mini-dish...Anyways back to the SRH2000--hook-up and set-up was quite forward and easy as was programming and everything else about the tuner..the sound is so much better than my portable unit especially running it through my D/A...If your into satellite radio (I hate commercials) you have to try the SRH2000, you don't need an external D/A as the tuner offers many hook-up options for great sound..You won't be disappointed.

Pros: Easily fits into the rest of my audio system--Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-200S amp, Krell KAV280CD cd player, DacMagic D/A converter, Monster Cable HTS5100MKII, AQ balanced interconnects, Zu interconnects, Kimber interconnects, Pangea power cables and Monster 2.4S bi-wired speaker cables feeding my Klipsch RF7's and RF12SW sub-woofer...I also have Vibrapods isolators everywhere...My system sounds quite nice with digital satellite radio!!

Cons: None..

Overview: The SR-H2000 Sirius Satellite Radio Tuner is a component-sized Sirius Satellite Radio tuner that fits into your audio rack along with your home receiver and other A/V components. The SR-H2000 is equipped with audiophile-grade components which will insure you will hear all of satellite radio's potential sound quality.

Note: The SR-H2000 does not come with an antenna. You will need to purchase a separate Sirius Home Signal Distribution Kit, such as the 220SHDK1, 220SSDK1, or 220SCDK1.

Sirius Satellite Radio: Sirius Satellite Radio features more than 130 streams of commercial-free music, plus sports, talk, news, comedy, and other programming beamed coast-to-coast. A subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio is required in order to enjoy Sirius programming. Sirius programming is not available in Alaska or Hawaii.

Digital-To-Analog Converter (DAC): The SR-H2000 features high-quality digital-to-analog circuitry to extract maximum detail from the Sirius Radio signal.

Preamp Section: Typical plug and play satellite radio receivers use headphone amplifiers which introduce noise and distortion into the system. This unit's premium high-gain audio preamp section is extremely quiet, low in distortion, and its wide response matches the output of typical CD or DVD players. The audio output level of the SR-H2000 can be adjusted to fine tune the audio level for best performance. The audio level settings affect only the analog line output.

LCD Display: The LCD display screen of the SR-H2000 Sirius Home Tuner provides information about the operation of the unit, such as the currently tuned channel, song or show being played, artist name, time and other information. You can choose from a small font or large font for viewing the display screen from a distance.

Touch Sensitive Controls: The SR-H2000 features touch-sensitive front-panel buttons that are back lit for easy operation.

Wireless Remote Control: The IR wireless remote control supplied with the SR-H2000 is capable of operating most of the features from a remote location within the line of sight of the unit's front-panel IR remote sensor. Each button on the remote control functions in the same way as the button on the SR-H2000, itself.

Search Modes: The Sirius Home Tuner has four ways to search for and select music - Category, Channel, Artist and Song Title.

Channel List: The Channel List mode allows you to search for a different channel while listening to your current channel.

Direct Tuning: Sirius channels can be directly accessed by using the numeric keypad on the SR-H2000's front panel or remote control.

Channel Presets: Channel presets allow you to store up to 30 of your favorite channels as presets for quick access with the press of a single button. The SR-H2000 features 3 preset banks (A, B, C) which can contain up to 10 channel presets each. In addition to accessing your presets directly, you can choose to scroll through allow of the unit's preset stations.

Preset Tune List Mode: While in the Preset Tune Mode, you can view your list of presets showing channel name, artist name, or song title while listening to your current channel.

Jump: The Jump function allows you to quickly tune to a specific channel and then tune back to the original channel by pressing a single button. This function can be programmed to jump to a channel which is accessed frequently and temporarily such as traffic, weather, news, or sports.

Memory Song Seek Alert: This feature allows you to capture and store information about the programming (artist, song, sports team, or traffic city) on the currently tuned channel, up to a total of 30 items. The receiver then continuously searches all the Sirius channels and alerts you when a match to a saved program is being played. When an artist (or artists) are stored in memory, at the time the receiver is initially powered on, you will be alerted when the artist or artists are singing.

Game Alert: Game Alert allows you to store your favorite sports teams in memory. The SR-H2000 will constantly scan the channels and will sound an alert when a sports team you stored in memory is applying a game or when their is a score update for a team, depending upon which option you have chosen for the sports team. The SR-H100 tuner can automatically identify when your favorite team is playing. When a game is found, Game Alert is displayed and the My Game Zone screen is displayed listing the sports games which are currently being played.

Instant Replay: The SR-H2000 Home Sirius Receiver is capable of storing the audio of the channel to which you are listening for later playback, approximately up to 44 minutes depending upon the channel to which you are tuned. As soon as you tune to a channel, the tuner automatically begins storing the audio, enabling you to rewind at any time to replay the audio again.

Parental Control: The SR-H2000 Sirius Receiver has the ability to lock a channel (or channels) you do not want others to access without your permission. Locked channels will not appear when browsing channels. In addition, when anyone tires to access the locked channel using the direct tuning function, an Enter Code screen will be displayed and the channel cannot be accessed until the correct 4-digit code is entered.

Time Based Menu: The Time-Based Features menu allows you to access the Clock, Alarm Program Alert, Auto Shutdown and Sleep Mode menu options.

  • Clock: The Clock menu option allows you to setup the clock shown on the display screen, based on the format desired and the time zone in you reside. The actual time is provided via the Sirius satellite signal, and will automatically update based on the received signal.
  • Alarm: The Alarm function allows you to set the receiver to turn on at a specific time. The last selected channel prior to shutdown will be played when the receiver is powered on.
  • Program Alert: The Program Alert function allows you to program the tuner to switch to a selected channel at a specific time.
  • Auto Shutdown: The Auto Shutdown feature allows you to program the tuner to automatically shut off after a one hour period without any user intervention. After 59 minutes of inactivity, a been stone will sound and a Cancel Auto Shutdown display prompt appears on the screen to allow you to delay the automatic shutdown.
  • Sleep Mode: The Sleep Mode option allows you to program the tuner to shutdown after a selected period of time. You can choose from 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes

Dual Tuner Mode: The SiriusConnect SC-H1 Satellite Radio Tuner (607SCH1, sold separately) is an optional accessory designed to work with the SR-H2000 to enable you to set up a dual zone system to receive different Sirius Satellite Radio programming in different rooms of your home.

Rack Mountable: The SR-H2000 includes two metal brackets and hardware which allow to rack mount the Sirius Satellite Radio Home Receiver.

Video Output: You can display channel information as well as artist and song title information on your TV screen by connecting the SR-H2000 to your TV via the unit's composite video output. An optional composite video cable is required for connecting the unit to your TV.

Digital Audio Output: In addition to the one pair of analog outputs, the SR-H2000 offers one coaxial digital output. The digital output lets you take advantage of the ultra low noise and distortion benefits of pure digital sound, and be able to take advantage of the Digital Signal Processing features of your surround receiver or processor. An optional digital coaxial cable is required.

Antenna: The SR-H2000 features a threaded coaxial RF-type antenna input (female F-Type) for connecting a Sirius Home Signal Distribution Kit, such as 220SCDK1, 220SHDK1, or 220SSDK1, sold separately.

12-Volt Trigger: If you have an AV receiver or preamp with a 12-volt trigger, you can connect a 3.5mm mono mini-plug cable between the receiver/preamp and the Sirius Tuner and switch the tuner from Standby to On or vice versa without having to separately press the power button. As long as the SR-H2000 stays plugged into an active AC outlet, the unit will respond to 12-volt trigger signals.

IR Input: The 3.5mm IR input eliminates the need for an IR flasher.

SSP: 8-pin proprietary port for connecting optional SC-H1 Sirius add-on tuner for dual zone.

RS-232: The rear panel has an RS-232C connection for use with compatible 3rd party whole house audio distribution systems, such as Crestron, for remote room control of tuner and display of tuner data on remote keypads and other control devices. It is not compatible with computers.
