SiriusXM's compact SXV200V1 tuner lets you receive satellite radio programming in your car without the need for any additional cables or interfaces. With a compatible car stereo, you can pause, rewind, and replay up to an hour of live broadcasts, plus see alerts when your favorite song, artist, or team is playing on another channel. And with your iPod® connected, you can "tag" songs for purchasing later in the iTunes® store.
Depending on your subscription package, you'll also be able to enjoy SiriusXM's Xtra Channels with the SXV200V1, giving you access to over 20 new music, sports, entertainment, and dedicated Spanish-language channels. The package includes the hideaway satellite radio tuner, plus an antenna that attaches to your vehicle with its powerful magnetic base.
The SXV200V1 works with in-dash receivers with a "SiriusXM ready" logo. This tuner will not work with your car's factory satellite radio antenna, so you'll have to install the included antenna. You'll also need an XM or SiriusXM subscription. Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Limited service is available in Alaska.
Note: Your receiver must have the "SiriusXM ready" logo — this adapter is not compatible with receivers that have "SAT Radio Ready", "Sirius Ready DC", or "XM Ready" logos.

Easy to install
Great product, easy to install.
Pros: Easy to install.
Easy installation and I was up and running in no time.
Pros: Sweet and simple
Simple install. Basically plug in, pay for the subscription, (first 3 months free by the way), and off you go to the awesome channels of Sirius XM!
Pros: Compact and easy to install.
Works great with my Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS. It actually has better reception that I had my last car that had it in from the factory
Pros: Works great. It was easy to move my existing account to this. Did it online.
Cons: Only con is that it took me a while to figure out where to mount it and how to run the cabling. After I got that figured out it only took about 25 minutes to get it run
Great product. Easy to install in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler. Truly a plug and play operation. Make sure when you are mounting the antenna, to place it on the driver or passenger side roll cage. Have not had any reception issues at that location.
Pros: Easy Install
Cons: Finding ideal antenna location
So far so good at 2 weeks. Plenty of wire length to mount anywhere on the vehicle. I placed my antenna on the dash of my Jeep Unlimited. Works well until I go under a bridge then it goes out for a second.
Pros: Easy to install
This is a plug and play deal. Route the antenna wire, then plug in and go.
Pros: Easy intallation
I was worried it would be hard to install. Not so! The antenna was what had me worried and the wire was a little stiff but no real issues. Crystal clear sound!
Pros: Great price, east to install.
Cons: Anetnna wire was a little stiff to work with but not bad.
Great product! It's extremely easy to install, and doesn't take up much room at all. The product attached to the back of the deck and extended the antenna connection to behind the glovebox (clost to my existing xm tuner). I was able utile the "shark fin" antenna with minimal modification. Works just as great as the manufacturer's.
Pros: Has additional feature than your stock xm/radio. Allows you to rewind. You can keep and utilize your existing antenna.
Cons: The cord that attaches the radio could be a little longer (In case you want to store the device behind the glovebox).
Small and simple. Plugs right into my radio head and gives seamless access to xm radio stations.
Pros: simple plug and play application for my system.
Small unit easy to place. Instantly hooked up to my JVC KD-AR959BS head unit also bought at Crutchfield. Excellent reception, clear sound, and as I said, it is small and easy to mount anywhere out of the way. With the right head unit it really delivers the features of Sirius XM. The JVC KD-AR959BS is a perfect fit for this unit.
Pros: Small, easy to install.
Works well - no issues - seamless with kenwood head unit. Initialized quickly. As advertised.
Pros: Seamless integration with head unit and works well
Replaced factory installed XM on my 2008 Dodge Ram... easy to install and run the antenna to the head unit.
Pros: Compact, easy to install and enable.
Cons: Antenna wire a little stiff... be careful with kinking as you run it to head unit.
Tunes for every mood!
Pros: Simple install
Cons: Paying to listen to the radio - but - hearing whatever strikes your fancy
Got this to go with my new kenwood head unit and it was extremely simple to install. Need to adjust the antenna adjustment a bit on my truck but everything works really well and now I can continue to listen to my favorite channels with better quality sound.
Pros: No separate unit to hang on the windshield and no fm transmitter! Direct plug and play
Cons: Finding space for the little box looked to be difficult at first but we figured a way to hide it out of the way.
I thought i was getting a sirius tuner but when hooked up it was xm reciever will have for 6 months then proboly cancel my subsciption be to expensive to get sirius
Great add on for a new radio
Pros: Works great
Cons: Could plug in the back of the radio at a better angle
Easy install Sirius made the conversion simple and threw in 3 months service which as inserted into our account along with a reduced rate for the following 3 months. I think they are anxious to keep existing customers and an occasional phone call will get you a reduced rate in line with their various promotions.
Pros: Easy install Great radio with no ads
They don't tell you, you haft to buy 3 months to get 3 months free and they want your credit card info with auto renew
I was worried about this installation, as I wanted to install the antenna in the extreme rear of my Saturn Vue, then run the cable to the dash. I chose to create, by filing, a channel in the pinch weld, then thoroughly wrapped the cable and reinstalled the weather stripping for the hatch. Hiding the cable was simple and, once connected, everything worked great. After a couple of false starts trying to activate the service on the web, I called SiriusXM and activation was simple. My issue with the web was that I had a existing SiriusXM account so if you're starting from scratch you should have no issue. Works great with my Kenwood head unit and has really upped my listening enjoyment. I've had the dash apart many times so part of my ease of installation was owing to this fact.
Pros: Great SiriusXM programming.
easy to install
Wanted the option to have SiriusXM radio. This one went in easily and included a rebate for the radio and 3 months of free service. Pretty cool.
Pros: Good price (free initially) and had 3 months free service to get that going. Went in easily.
Cons: A little bit of a pain to route the wire to the external antennae.
Easy to install. No problems.
Pros: Easy install
This is a great product that I was able to use oem antenna with!
Worked great with aftermarket pioneer avic5000 nex! There is plenty of antenna wiring to go from roof of my Altima to the radio. Plug and play install is awesome. Satellite signal is great! Definitely recommend this product.
Pros: Compact size, easy to install, works flawlessly
Works fine but I wish XM would make it so that you can use the factory antenna.
Easy install and works great
Pros: Easy install and works great
Works great. LOVE the rewind feature (can't rewind unless you are on the channel with my Alpine; I understand some head units allow you to rewind channels you just tuned in). Tunes fast, receives well and includes more channels than the Sirius or XM systems (this is the THIRD incompatible system, which I believe uses the XM satellites but includes more channels than the older XM system). Had problems with losing reception due to a loose antenna connection; I bent the outer ring inside the tuner and the antenna fit tight ... no reception issues since then (nine months as of this writing).
Pros: Great reception, easy to install
Cons: None other than the loose antenna (fixed with a slight crimp on the unit) Downgraded one star since it should not have needed that.
Super easy to install, works Great, the quality of sound is like night and day. I purchased through Crutchfield, I wish I could have activated through Crutchfield..... Sirius customer service is lacking... Crutchfield, 5 Stars easy....
Pros: Easy install, everything is hidden, antenna is small. Sounds great. Working with Crutchfield!!
Cons: Dealing with Sirius,,,,,, :-(
Pros: Better reception than that stock stereo had
I live in a small town with no tall buildings or obstructions and this tuner keeps losing signal. I am using my trucks Shark Fin Anttena. Never had a problem with stock tuner and Shark Fin Anttena. Installed in 2011 Silverado with new Kenwood DDX372BT head unit. Evrything was professionaly installed
Pros: Sounds Great.
Cons: Loses Signal all the time.
Easy install and works great!
Pros: Magnetic base makes for easy install.
Cons: Tricky running the wires if you're not a car installer.
This product is great. If you combine this with a ready stereo it gives you seriusxm while giving you a clean dash. It is easy to install small and light.
Pros: Small, easily put in
Works as advertised. Easy to install, great customer support.
was easy to install works great
Very easy install. Works great.
Pros: Excellent sound!
Had the dash-mounted Sirius, but installed this when I upgraded my Wife's stereo. Works great. Just be aware, that if you're changing from a dash mount like I did, the old antennae won't work. You'll have to run the new one. Having the old one to follow made this easy though. No connection problems. It even works sitting in the garage.
Pros: Easy install sound great
Works great, easy install that would've been easier if I bought it with my new Sony MEX-5000BT. The complaints in previous reviews are misunderstandings of how the 3 months free works. I went to the website after getting a signal on XM Ch1, selected 'Activate Radio', popup had Big Sirius logo, Big XM logo, and a small link at the bottom 'SiriusXM', clicked that, entered my radio ID, and the offer was very clear. Entered my billing info, first payment due in 3 months. Those who have cancelled Sirius know that right after cancelling service your mailbox and email will fill up with 5 months for $20 offers. The RWD/FWD features are not supported with my radio, a little disappointing, but the All-Access package includes internet service and the in-vehicle tuner has many more channels than my OEM XM radio did. Good value, easy install, crystal clear satellite radio with no commercials. If they advertised it as $50 Down w/3 $20 payments for 6 months of every major sporting event, every genre of commercial-free music, all the major news networks, syndicated talk shows, and the King and Queen of All Media, Howard and Oprah, all available anytime you're in your car, in front of your computer, or within reach of your smartphone you'd already have it, not reading reviews about it.
Pros: Integration with my Sony radio, works thru the phone app, never a need to connect any wires to the front. More channels than I can get through during my 45 minute commute.
Cons: None, just wish I'd bought a better headunit with a larger display. SiriusXM is the best radio on the radio.
Truly plug and play! No secrets. I ran the antenna to the dashboard and it works perfectly.
Pros: It works
Looses connection to satellite to often.
Cons: Losses reception.
It's an XM/Sirius tuner. Changed my subscription a bit. The give you plenty of cable to install the antenna. The magnet is very strong to hold it on.
Awesome product. Easy to install. Just works. Plug it in and go.
Works well easy to install and very easy to hookup
Pros: Very easy way to have Sirius XM
This product works well I haven't had any problems and it was easier to install but could have been better with a wire harness
Pros: It works well
Cons: Installation could be easier with a direct wiring
Nice add on for the Pioneer Avic 8000nex. You get album art and are able to rewind music. Plus I got 3 free months of service.
Pros: Price. Easy install. 3 free months
It's great to have the option to listen to satellite radio.
Far better than prior versions - no more constant hot battery lead, no more bulk and challenge to place behind the dash. This is super easy to install and was just as easy to update with Sirius XM too. Two thumbs up.
Pros: Small, easy to install, good price
Cons: Ability to use old antenna would be nice but is not critical.
This is essential to keeping your sirius if your changing from factory to something else...but I was told that I HAD to use the antenna with this kit. At least for my vehicle I did NOT have to do that. I could use the factory cable (watched a youtube video) and not have to use the antenna that came with this. This was big for me, because I wanted LESS wires to deal with...not more. So I was able to tie into the factory wire and it works great!!
Pros: Reasonably priced.
Cons: Cord that goes from the head unit could be a little longer.
I love having my satlelite controls on my radio instead of having a separate tuner for XM.neat and less dash clutter.
This is the must have for any car. I have to have my XM.
Pros: Must have.
Cons: Angela a little challenging to run....but you just gotta do it.
Very easy to install and works well for my application.
Product worked well.
Pros: Easily hocked up , good instructions
Very simple to intall and very large variety of genres of music
Very easy to install and looks clean like factory. Also the antenna is low profile and doesn't stand out.
Totally satisfied with this unit. Sound, features, easy to use. The unit fit perfectly and was relatively easy to install. Using the "Vehicle Specific" kit, supplied install manual, and wire harness, I had the unit on and working in a few hours. If it sounds this good with factory speakers I cant wait until I can upgrade to better speakers. The navigation and satellite radio... GREAT. The Crutchfield team was awesome. From helping me choose the system to fit my budget and what I wanted.Their tech support is second to none if not better. They knew the product and were familure with my vehicle
Works Great with Radio, not easy to put in but worth it
Pros: Great product
Cons: difficult to install
Works great. Was easy to install, with clear instructions.
Pros: Complete unit, just plug and play .
What can I say. Does exactly as it says.. Siriusxm ready? You're good to go.
Pros: Plug and play
Cons: None whatsoever
I installed this behind a new Kenwood head unit that my son got me for my birthday. It took about an hour for the entire package and the results were fantastic. I went on a hunting abs camping trip where we had no radio or cell service and the SiriusXM worked with out flaw. I love it.
Pros: Works when you don't have radio stations. Lots of choices of music or radio styles.
Cons: 20 bucks a month for service. Lots of extra wire even for my tahoe.
A snap to install and easy antenna routing. The 3 month free subscription that comes with the tuner is the best package that XM offers. It gives you a chance to see what channels you like so you can pick the right package for you.....
Pros: Easy install and antenna is small, about the size of a matchbook..
Easy to install and set up. Running ant wire was a pain in my car.
Pros: Easy to install except ant wire.
Cons: The box said 3 free months, but when I called, Sirius would only give me 2 months free. False advertising!Crutchfield response on 10/27/2014 We are working with SiriusXM to get this corrected for the customer. He should receive three months of free programming, not two.
I connected the SiriusXM SXV200V1 tuner to my Kenwood DPX500BT unit. Installation was a snap. I already had an XM antenna installed from a previous XM radio so I did not need to run the wire again. I called SiriusXM to activate this new tuner and received 3 months of free service. Tuner works as advertised. Highly recommended.
Pros: Arrived 1 day ahead of scheduled delivery date. Easy installation.
It works like it's supposed to! What else can I say? 5 stars!
Pros: It works like it's supposed to!
Extremely easy to install and quick to set up. Highly recommended
Pros: Easy plug and play
Cons: Activation with XM was a little slow
The receiver is good. Nice and compact does it's job well. The antenna cable is crap. I carefully installed it (I thought) and by the time I was done the housing had been cut in multiple locations and kinking is bad as well. Bought an aftermarket antenna and cable which was installed without damage.
Pros: Receiver is great/
Cons: Antenna cable is horrible.
great xm radio for xm ready radio!
Its easy to install and works perfectly with my radio. Great product at a great price!
Pros: Easy to install and works perfectly.
Pros: super easy to install
Cons: I wish someone would make an adapter so the existing ant. on the car could be used
Great addition to my stereo. Glad I got it.
Pros: Lets me control the xm directly through my stere and get rid of the extra device I had in my car
THis is a great add-on to my new JVC V200BT. Simple installation. The instructions tell you that you have to use the antenna that comes with the Tuner and can't use the factory car antenna. Hogwash! In my case and I'm not saying in all cases, all I had to do was to remove the plastic connector housing for the factory antenna and then plugged it into the tuner. Works Great. The connector was a perfect match, just the plastic that was used to hold it in place on the old radio was in the way
Simple plug and play into my Kenwood headunit, wiring and the antenna mount were easy. I have a 2014 Ram 2500 and went through the third brake light. Looks factory! Love it.
Pros: Simple to add on
plug and pllay
Pros: plug it in and it works perfectly
Cons: The antenna should be able to hook up to the factory installed ones instead of having to install a new one.
Pros: just like its built in, nice display on head unit
Cons: Bulky when installing the head unit, have to run another antenna instead of using the factory XM antenna
Nice unit, easy to install the tuner, getting the antenna wiring to the roof of the vehicle with out the wiring showing was more of a challenge. Clear sharp music and great selection of programing available.
Pros: Easy to connect to unit, I started with a Jenson and upgraded to a Kenwood and both were a breeze to connect to, just plug in one plug and all connections to the unit are made including power. Lead was long enough to give you plenty of options to mount the unit without too much to find space for the wiring & designed to just be wire tied to any convent support of bundle of wires back out of the way of the receiver. Good engineering. You get to listen to the programing at once with reduced func
Cons: Antenna has to be mounted outside the vehicle away from all other antennas on the roof. Plenty of lead is provided for this but the end into the unit makes it hard to get through some of the smaller areas and through the firewall under the dash. It would be nice to be able to take it off or have a small plug like cameras to route with. Also the link provided to sign up for service is the wrong link and I had to contact Sirius to get the correct link. Sirius seamed used to this.
Installed in a 1986 Volvo 244 went very easy and hook up to the Sony Radio provided no difficult. Antenna placement different that those recommended to take advantage of rain trove near front windshield on the drivers side. Made the phone call to transfer an account to new radio and was done in a couple of hours.
Pros: Install easy to complete on a Volvo
Cons: My system will now need better speakers but that will come later.
Easy to install, great reception
This was pretty much a plug and play install. I put the antenna on the dash seem to work just fine.
Pros: Plugged right into the back of my head unit no wiring needed.
Works exactly as the factory units in my other vehicles!
Pros: easy to install works perfectly
Frankly, I'm bummed that I even had to buy the unit when replacing the factory double-din on my 2006 F150 since SAT was part of the factory package. I really didn't want to have to pull out the factory antenna and wiring. Fortunately after cracking and removing the square housing from the female adapter with a pair of pliers, it plugged right into this unit and worked like a charm. in the F150 I just fixed this new unit to the top of the factory SAT box with a dab of super-glue and have been enjoying SAT radio on my new Kenwood deck ever since.
Pros: worked with factory antenna on 2006 F150
Cons: .... none that are serious. I suppose it would be nice if sirius would beam data and I could get online with this thing.
This is so worth it. I actually thought the installation would be more difficult but it was simple. Mind you I have zero technical know how and I did it. It took all of maybe 20 minutes for me to install and I was enjoying howard again! In love with the fact I no longer have to listen to endless commercials.
Pros: Easy install.
Very easy to install and work great!
Easy to install and sound quality is great.
Pros: Number of channels to select from and consistent high quality sound.
Cons: Once the free 90 day trial is up selecting and negotiating a pricing plan might be a challenge.
Works good with the radio but had a hard time getting it activated. Was transferred to three different people before I got one the could activate this particular model and apply the 3 months free perk. Not Crutchfield's fault for that.
Very simple to install and comes with everything needed. Very Straightforward.
Pros: nothing missing..
Very nice to have. Saves alot of time
Pros: Very helpful. Saved alot of time trying to do wiring
Easy to install with the guidance from Crutchfield technical support. The Kenwood stereo hook up married straight to the wiring of the Sirius XM SXV200V1 and was easily concealed and out of sight. The selection of channels is endless and very entertaining.
Pros: Plays the music clear and concise. Stereo sound is excellent. The news channels are very complete for any type of listener.
Cons: Unable to get a listing of channels so I have to listen to all before I can decide what to listen to and program in the radio.
Only thing in town if one wants XM. Would be nice if more features were offered as in the factory radios.
Pros: Works as promised
Cons: Lack of options
Sirius is awesome! I get so many stations and don't have to worry about losing reception when I'm driving in rural areas!!
Good Piece... integrates xm and headunit like one unit. Small and easy to stash behind the dash.
Pros: small and easy to hide
Cons: have to buy ... extra cost xm should provide with paid service
Nice little addition. Plug and play. Takes up little room behind radio
Pros: Simple to connect. Works good from radio
A nice replacement for my Onyx.
Works with my new JVC system
Pros: Easy to connect
The SIRIUS signal worked right away and it is easy to attach.
Pros: Easy to install if you are putting in a new radio.
Cons: Too much wire and stuff to fit behind the radio. You need a lot of room back there. Also, the box or listing doesn't mention the fact that you have to find a way to install the antenna box on the exterior of your car.
The radio was easy to install and activate. I am really glad I spent the extra money on SiriusXM tuner addon when i replaced the OEM radio in my Chrysler.
If you want Sirius, you gotta spend the bucks
Pros: Works just fine
Cons: With unlimited data on your phone, you may want to go with Spotify or IRadio/Beats, etc
This tuner works quite well and I am satisfied with the performance. I also like that it was very compact and therefore easy to install. The only concern was that my existing satellite antenna cable did not fit very snugly and so I had to rig it up to stay in place. Other than that, great tuner, easy install.
Pros: Compact, easy fit, good performance
Cons: None reall.
This tuner is about the simplest addition to my radio system. I installed the antenna at the rear of my Jeep Patriot and ran the wire along the interior floor parallel to the main harness. The only issue I had was the size of the plug compared to the wire makes it extremely difficult to run it through a grommet. Luckily I had another larger wire going in the same grommet afterwards. This is unique to how I ran the wire myself. If you choose a different location you may or may not have a similar problem.
Pros: Easy and straight forward
Cons: Plug size compared to wire difficult in tight spots
Easy plug and play installation for use with my Alpine X008u headunit. I was able to use the factory antenna off the back of the stock radio in my 2014 Jetta TDI. I definitely recommend this product. I used an XM receiver on my older Pioneer AVIC-X930bt, and that box made by Pioneer was big and bulky. This one is small and easy to find a place to put it behind the radio.
Pros: Sounds great. Small. Uses factory Sirius/XM antenna in my car.
Easy plug and play and great reception!!! I even have mine under my dash so you cant see any wires or the antenna
Pros: Easy install, great signal
Great Product. Was very quick and easy to install. I have been an XM subscriber for a long time using a plug and play. This unit is out of sight and works great with my Kenwood system.
Works well. Haven't had any problems.
Pros: Work easily.
The SiriusXM SXV200V1 Tuner was the perfect addition to our new Kenwood stereo and fit together seamlessly without wires, or mounts hanging off the dash. Installation was simple following Crutchfield instructions. Works wonderfully!
Pros: Fits invisibly behind dash without patch cords, etc. Great SiriusXM reception and programming.
Cons: SiriusXM subscription is pricey and higher than when I previously subscribed but programming is also much broader. No issues with the SiriusXM SXV200V1 Tuner.
Verry easy to install. Just plug it in and set up the antenna and you have sirius.
Pros: Easy to install Great sound
Works great! Nice to have SiriusXM again. Installation was easy. Connect unit to radio and antenna and you are ready to go.
Added SiriusXM to my 2000 Porsche Boxster as part of the installation of a Kenwood DDX471HD. I love having the music and news along for the ride.
Pros: Ease of installation
What can I say, it's a satellite receiver. A breeze to install, just plugs into my receiver, and in my case, even the factory satellite antenna plug fit, although a little loose, so there was no need for the included magnetic mount.
Pros: Easy to install.
I had the stock unit in my chevy for the xm which I was very happy with. When I decided I wanted to replace the factory unit with an aftermarket upgrade, I was a bit nervous. This unit is very good and performs as well as the original. The only problem you will run into is with XM customer service. I could not understand the first one and when I cancelled the old subscription and opened the new one, they seemed a bit confused.
Pros: good unit, small and tidy.
Cons: noe at this time
Purchased this item as Open Box , saved about $10.00 . Overall this thing workers as well ( if not better ) then my factory unit. Pleased with my purchase.
Pros: Works great !
Its a great radio, crystal clear reception and great sound!
Pros: Easy set up and easy to find stations
You'll never find a simpler way to hook up to SiriusXM. Just plug it in to the radio0, attach the controller and mount the antenna and Bobs' Your Uncle!
Pros: Simple, good price.
Cons: SiriusXM subscription--they aren't giving these away...at all!
bought this from crutchfield for my kenwood ddx-790 . hookup was one plug into back of head unit and the antena to the little black box of the sirius xm . works great i love it . it is a must have for me .
Pros: ez hook up .
Cons: none from crutchfield .
Very easy to connect, call, subcribe and you have coast to coast music. I was even able to plug in my factory antanne.
Pros: ease of use, small size makes it easy to stash in the dash somewhere.
Cons: None noted
Easy to install and easy to setup
Worked right out of the Box. Found there IS a differnec between Sirius and XM. My wife's car has Sirius. This is an XM receiver. Difference is in programs that come standard. With this unit to get the rebate, you sign up for ALL the channels for 6 months to get 3 months free ( total of 9 months ), after that, I plan just to get the music package, so to me it doesn't matter which Extra;s are included with Sirius and which are included with XM
Pros: Great add on .. small easy to connect and use.
The cord is really, really long on the antenna but beware that if you cut it to shorten it that it is not an easy cable to reconnect. It's basically a RCA cable with a core wire inside a plastic sleeve with aluminum foil around it and surrounded by a bunch of really thin, really wispy, wires (more like "fibers") that are really thin, hard to strip without cutting, and consequently difficult to solder. The core is fairly stiff (although thin) and easier to solder. I wish I never cut it as it was a real pain to solder it together again. As for Sirius/XM -- well, it's okay but the sound quality is worse than internet radio if you have a good 4G signal.
works flawlessly with avic 7000nex
This was a snap to install.
Pros: Everything just fit
Cons: Can't buy a con from this one.
I highly recommend this product! It's VERY easy to install and I have had no issues with it at all.
Pros: Love the CD like clarity. It was VERY easy to install ad it only has two connections. Recommended!
Not difficult to hook up
Pros: Easy to set up
Cons: Hard to install
Installed into my 2012 Ram 1500, used a satellite antenna adapter to use the factor installed antenna. Works perfect with the Pioneer 4000-nex
Great to have SiriusXM in my 2002 GMC Envoy. This unit works as advertised. One caution...be sure to tune to channel "001" not "1" like the instructions say when you activate your radio. If all the channels do not show up, then tune the radio to "001", go to your SiriusXM Online Account for this radio, and send a Refresh Signal to the radio. All your channels should show up.
Plug and play. Not many ways things can go wrong
Great XM Tuner, easy to install, clear reception, sounds great.
Pros: I bought this during the 3 month free service promotion, so that was an automatic Pro. The reception is great, the installation was quick, & easy. There are so many channels that play great commercial free tunes. Something for everyone.
Cons: None that I can think of.
couldnt be happier hate spending the monthly but everything costs money so ill pay for the service as it makes life better driving to work or on road trips!
Pros: good selection your in control
Cons: monthly subscription costs
Great service and I like the product
Great reception, easy to set up. I wish the cord was longer so I could run it to the back of my car instead of the front.
Seems to work pretty well. Price was reasonable.
Pros: Easy Installation. Directions are very good,
Cons: Don't know if it's not a good antenna, or maybe it's the terrain, but loses the signal intermittently. I do have a proper installation.
Does what it's supposed to
Pros: It works
Plug-n-Play satellite tunes for your auto!
Pros: Easy to install. New antenna design.
Cons: The audio volume is lower and quality is less for satellite reception.
Good music without having to worry about switching channels while traveling
Pros: easy to install
Love this product. Really simple to install, just plug in a few wires and run the antenna and that's it.
Pros: Love the tagging for artists and songs, and game alerts.
I purchased the Kenwood KDC 8597 stereo and matched them up with two pairs of the KFCX683C speakers for the front and rear locations on my F-250 Super Duty as recommended by the Crutchfield staff. I also purchased the receiver system for the Sirius XM radio. The sound is excellent! I install it myself, it took about 3 hour total but it was an easy install, thanks to the instructions provided. I would recommend Crutchfield to everyone looking to upgrade their factory radio, the products are great and their prices are right on!
Pros: Easy install, excellent sound!
Great product easy to install and "hide" behind the dash
Pros: Complete package Small easy to install
ordered with Kenwood DNX891HD. Basically a plug-n-play install. Replaced OEM Nav/Radio that had XM Satellite. The car's OEM antennas / XM tuner seemed less prone to drop outs due to obstructions. I drive / live in suburban area where trees are most common tall structures are trees. I wish a converter was included to use original OEM antennas
Pros: compatible wit unit, ease of install
Cons: Antenna / unit seems more prone to signal drops.
I purchased this tuner with a new Pioneer receiver and after approximately 3 months it became stuck on Channel 1 and wouldn't accept a refresh signal. After jumping through all kinds of hoops (over an hour) with SiriusXM customer service and them sending refresh signal after refresh signal, they agreed to send me another tuner. Now, a little over 3 months later I have the same issue, which again could not be rectified during a half hour phone call to customer service. They are now sending me a different type of tuner (Onyx), which I do not want.
Pros: Small and easy to install.
Cons: Not reliable for the long term.
Once again another very easy install. I like this because I do not always want to hear talking on my radio, I want music. I get so many choices of stations to listen too.The antenna is not even noticeable on the outside of my truck.
Pros: plenty of antenna wire.
Such a great item to have while I am riding my Harley down long roads
Can play, stop, fast forward songs and can be used in locations due to its size.
I will get right to it. Very easy to install. Very easy to use. Very good deal. So easy a Caveman can do it.
Pros: Easy install. Small and compact.
I love it
Unit functions as advertised. Antenna too sensitive. Under trees or around buildings and signal is lost. Unit does not seem to buffer the signal to play thru intermittent signal losses.
Pros: Plays as it should when the signal is strong.
Cons: antenna way too sensitive to blockage. I have other automobiles with XM factory installed, no issues.
I needed a new radio in my Ford 2002 Ranger and decided on a Kenwood DPX500BT. I have Sirius in my Ford 2011 Fusion and looked forward to having it in the Ranger too.
Pros: Simple to install and register.
Cons: I didn't know the antenna was to be mounted on the outside of vehicle with a magnet. Would have preferred inside on windshield like factory installed in Fusion.
so far so good ,put this on my motorcycle and seems to work good once i found a antenna location.
Pros: easy to hook up to a aftermarket receiver that is siriusxm ready
Cons: none so far only had it a couple of weeks.
Easy install and great to have satellite in my pre-satellite era car. Works exactly like my other factory satellite equipped cars. Installing the antenna on my rear deck in the car was easy and stealthy. Reception is great with the antenna inside the car.
Pros: Easy install and great reception.
easy to install and works well with alpine radio
Pros: easy to install and works well with alpine radio
I love this product.
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: The only difficulty was routing the antenna from inside the vehicle to outside.
easy to install when replacing the head unit. this is the second Sirius tuner that I have and installed. this new model is working great and takes up very little space. all the track titles and channel names are displayed on my kenwood head unit. great sound quality.
Pros: small easy to hide, easy install, fair price, quick shipping from Crutchfield
Cons: none that I have found yet in 30 days
This is the best way to add Sirius XM to your auto. I paired it with a Kenwood DDX471HD receiver and it's a perfect fit.
Pros: easy to install, out of sight with no wires showing. Looks like a factory install.
plugged right in and i was up and running fast
Works great. Very compact. Much easier than hooking up and external radio, wiring and such. Antenna is small. Using in my Jeep TJ. Great product.
Pros: Small, out of site. Great reception.
It was easy to install and any problems I had Tec support was quick to help me in any of the many products I've purchased
Pros: Easy installation
Cons: Just wish I knew that I needed it when I ordered my head unit that supposedly said "satellite ready"
Ordered this unit when my head unit died on my 2005 Dodge Ram. I was interested in a digital media unit since my family doesn't use disc's when we are traveling. I was also deciding between a HD unit or a Sirius XM unit. I did not find a HD unit within my needs, and thought I would buy this unit with the Sirius XM attachment. This was a simple install thanks to the directions and the supports of Crutchfield. I went ahead and soldered the wire and heat shrinked to make sure the connection is secure. The dash comes apart and it was a bit tight adding the Sirius XM module behind the unit, but it fit with a little of finesse. Bluetooth wire hid behind the dash and attached to the driver's side sun visor with no kink or problems.
Pros: More stations added through my head unit control. Sirius XM unit hidden behind the stereo. Great for road trips.
Cons: Subscription required for Sirius XM. I wouldn't recommend for a short commute.
The best thing about this tuner is the ability to pause live radio. Other than that, I don't like that I can't use the antenna the stock stereo was using. Had to hook it up to the included little antenna and mount it on my dash. Its not really noticeable, by it still annoys me. The other problem I have is the volume. I have to turn up some bass settings and turn up the volume when I switch to satellite from any other source. I don't understand why the source is so weak. Unfortunately there is not any other options besides a separate stand alone unit, which would defeat the purpose of me buying a SXM ready Pioneer.
Pros: Pause live radio
Cons: Antenna and volume
This is a good unit, and it work's very well with my head unit, and the installation was simple and easy.
Warning: This is an XM tuner. I had Sirius radio on my previous stereo for the past 14 years. I had this SiriusXM tuner installed today. When I called Sirius to move the service to this new tuner they told me that this is an XM tuner not a Sirius tuner. The problem with that is, you do not have access to the same set of channels unless you pay $35 more a year. When I complained to the SiriusXM reps they told me to remove this tuner and install a "Sirius" tuner to avoid paying the extra fees to keep my current channels. The problem is that none of these tuners indicate that they are an "XM" or a "Sirius" tuner. The only way to tell is my the radio ID. This is a warning to all current Sirius subscribers. If you want to keep channels like Howard Stern, you will have to pay an extra $35 a year to do so.
Pros: Easy to install Works well
Cons: This is an XM tuner... not Sirius
Easy to install and counting the antenna connection, only two wires to worry about (the antenna connection and the receiver connector).
Pros: Easy installation and very small footprint.
Cons: If you are retrofitting to an existing XM antenna and it has the old style FAKRA connector, the tuner module has a recessed new style coax connector. If you want to use your existing antenna, you'll need to purchase an adapter.
The tuner was very easy to hook up. It's pretty much idiot proof. As soon as I plugged it into my Jensen radio all the features came up on the screen and it was very easy to operate. The only bad part of the entire installation was when I called to get it activated SiriusXM told me there was not a 3 month free listening program that was written in the detailed when I bought the tuner. I had to give the product 3 stars because someone dropped the ball and I'm the one who had to pay for it.
Pros: Very easy installation and easy to understand instructions.
Cons: When I bought the tuner it was supposed to come with 3 month free activation, but it did not. I had to pay to listen instead of being able to see what package I wanted. I did not get the free 3 month activation. If I wanted to listen I had to pay immediately.Crutchfield response on 3/26/2014 The promotion required that in order to get the 3 months of free service, you first have to sign up for a minimum of 6 months of paid service. Since this was a promo from SiriusXM, unfortunately, there's nothing we can do to change that. SiriusXM subscribers can always change programming packages when the current subscription expires.
The other reviews don't lie. This is a simple plug and play operation. I pulled out my Pioneer X9500BHS (also bought from Crutchfield) and plugged the Sirius cable in. Then I just ran the antenna to my dash (didn't want to deal with outside routing) and put it back together after testing that it worked. Simple activation of my account and it was up and running. Even on the dash I get 2/3 or 3/3 bars all the time. Under an hour for installation and that's taking time.
Pros: - Dead simple install - Great reception even on dash - Relatively low price
Cons: - None so far.
quick and easy install
After 11 months of use, it started losing signal and dropping connection. Could get it back with refresh, but if I shut off the vehicle, I lost everything again. Local installer tested and said it was the head unit. Replaced head unit and the same thing happened again. I called Crutchfield and they referred me to Sirius/XM who told me that there is a known technical issue with this module. They will be replacing it for me this week. Make sure if you buy one, that you speak to SIRIUS/XM before you do in order to avoid buying a new head unit. I now have a spare pioneer deck to put in my son's car!
Pros: Worked great
Cons: Stopped working
This unit is so easy to install.... Works as advertised and so far, we all like it.
Pros: ease of installation.
Cons: None so far.
Great item, plug and play
Pros: Plugged right into my Jensen Sirius radio ready unit!
Bought the earlier version of this years ago for my Sirius experience. Had to run 5 different cables to get it working. Real hassle. The new updates tuner was 3 wires, the antenna and the plug for the back of the radio. It is much smaller than it's predecessor and fit right behind the radio. Still great quality and still great service in a smaller package. Would recommend to anyone!
Pros: Smaller, less wires than previous Sirius tuners, easy to use and easy to install.
I love my new radio and sat radio it's all I even listen too
Pros: Having the ability to hear where ever I go and not having to worry about channels being within range
Cons: Bridges it cuts out for a second
The SIRIUS adapter was one feature on my new Sony radio that went easily and worked the first time. Following a tip I found online I was able to use the existing SIRIUS antenna and dispense with running yet another wire.
Pros: Works the first time.
Plugged in the back of an awesome Kenwood deck. Install is easy, dealing with the several folks at sirius was the problem. Use the online activation. I like to deal with people so I made the mistake of calling and talking to them. Never talk to them! They weren't knowledgeable about their products, packages or anything that had to do with sirius. Its like they grabbed people of the street and told them to figure it out as they go.
Pros: I like all the channels and since I off road in some desolate places my jeep is the one with tunes!
Cons: The staff at Sirius.
Its alright , the company SIRIUSly needs to re-evaluate its plan pricing, there are many other radio types for less with better features
Pros: Has some of the newer music and many other stations... Old school, hip hop, sports, comedy
Cons: Keeps playing the same song over and over, I lose signal ALOT and the radio goes out, it's $15 per month when pandora is much better
Great item. Easy to install, but leave antenna on inside in dash (hint from Crutchfield) on the install. Get great reception, added another plus to a already terrific new radio
Pros: Easy to install, works great
Plugged into my Pioneer AVH-X3600 and ran the antenna. Took less than 5 minutes to do everything. I left my antenna on the front dash and I get good signal so having it on the outside is not necessary. Works great, I highly recommend.
Pros: Easy install, small antenna
Can't believe how small and how easy this was to install. Just plug it in and it works. Run the antenna and you're done. Nothing to it!
Pros: Super small and super easy to install.
I've had an external satellite receiver connected through my aux port for a few years now. It was time to upgrade my in-dash radio receiver and saw this product that allowed internal satellite radio control from the main unit. I wanted the ease of tuning to be all on one interface, with no additional power supplies etc, as well as all the functionality my external satellite tuner provided. This unit fit the bill. Installation was a breeze, and the head unit I bought is compliant so it works out nicely. Also, it all fits under the dash so there is nothing for potential thieves to see.
Pros: Ease of installation, no extra hardware sitting on the dash to be stolen, no extra DC power plugs required, no tuning two different devices to the correct settings.
Cons: None really.
love having the controls on the touch screen. using on a kenwood ddx 770
Pros: works like its supposed to. easy to install.
Works as advertised. Easy to install. I didn't use the supplied antenna. I used my factory installed xm radio antenna by disconnecting it from the factory tuner and removing the plastic clip.
I could listen for about a minute but then would keep getting a "check Antenna" display. The connection Where the antenna plugs into the SXV tuner is very loose. I put tape around this to keep it tight and it seems to work continuously now.
Cons: Loose antenna fitting could be improved.
Nice compact unit. Once I figured out how to get it under the rubber windshield edge the rest was a piece of cake.
Pros: Compact, fits nicely just about anywhere under the dash. Easy to secure tight connections.
Cons: Not really a con, but the antenna lead was very long and had to be coiled then zip tied to the underside of the dash.
Easy install and integration
Pros: Easy plug and play
Cons: Monthly fees too high
This works as advertised. It locks to the satellite quickly and there is enough wire to comfortably run through my Altima with about two feet left over. The antenna is positioned above the rear window with about 3" of metal from the antenna to the window. While the receiver locks on quick, I can never get to four bar reception. No matter what direction the car is facing, in the clear or not, the best I can receive is 3 bars. And today with the snow flying, reception dropped out completely. Maybe the receiver/antenna is too sensitive and drops the signal easily or the antenna is too small. My previous car, a Ford Edge with stock Sirius, never lost the satellite signal over the two years I had it.
Pros: Small, Easy to install
Cons: Reception is questionable.
Simple install, the only difficult part is figuring out where to put your antenna. I was lazy and put it in the middle of my dash under the windshield. It works fine, but when I'm in between buildings it sometimes cuts out, I'm not sure if i put the antenna on my roof it would make a difference. because when i was installing the antenna i tested the antenna by placing it inside my cab in the middle of the cab (2004 Silverado extended cab) and it worked fine. So i don't know if it will make a difference inside or out.
Pros: easy install
This XM unit is very small and I had no trouble finding a place to mount it. The connection to my radio was plug and play. This unit comes with a magnet mount antenna but I found a youtube video that showed me how to use the stock GM antenna and it was easy. Just remove the outer part of the yellow plug and it plugged right into this unit! EASY! I wasn't sure about putting the magnet mount antenna on my car if I already had an XM antenna. The unit connects directly to my Jensen VM9226BT and plays just fine.
Pros: Easy install, small unit. plug and play with my stereo. Comes with magnet mount antenna. Great if you don't have one
Cons: Comes with magnet mount antenna, CON only if you have an XM antenna already. I didn't use the one that came with this kit.
This unit added what to me was a win win with the head unit I choose this satellite tuner has all the info need at all points.
This was a snap to install with my Kenwood DPX500BT in my 2008 Ford F150 Super Crew, especially after watching a Crutchfield how-to video for mounting the antenna and routing it through the brake light at the top rear of the cab. I had a factory-installed Sirius radio in the truck, and the Crutchfield tech told me the existing antenna probably wouldn't work on the new unit. It turns out I probably could have used the existing antenna if I had just removed the plastic (modular) sheath from around the plug, but I figure now I have a back-up antenna should I ever need it.
Pros: Easy to install, and very small, so it was easy to zip-tie behind the dash.
Cons: None, really, although the Crutchfield tech I talked to was overly cautious about using the existing antenna. I'd rather they give me cautious advice, than wrong advice!
I have installed 2 of these tuners, one in an '05 Mustang and the other in an '04 Volvo C70, both attached to Kenwood DDX470 head units. The size and method of connection is vastly improved over the way these tuners used to be set up. Whereas the old tuners took a lot of thought and maneuvering to fit into a car, the new SiriusXM tuner box is so small it can fit almost anywhere behind the dash. The ability to activate via the internet is much simpler as well. Unfortunately, this is not an option for older head units.
Pros: Small size for easy mounting; simplified connectivity; streamlined activation.
Cons: None so far.
This Sirius unit is a great product. With ease of installation with single cable hook up with my Siriusxm ready pioneer head unit was quick and easy! Small and compact to place right in the dash with the head unit.
Pros: No power and ground wires to run. Just a single cable to hook up was easy todo and compact size was easy to conceal in the dash.
Cons: Wish it had Digital sound instead of analog.
Pros: Works much better than the antenna I put in my previous car, back in 2004-ish Sound quality really improved since then
Cons: If you don't want wires all over the place it's going to take some tinkering. I ended up getting mine professionally installed.
Super easy to install no problems and it connected to my antenna for the stock sirius I had in my 08 f150
Pros: Super easy took no more than 10 mins
Cons: None what so ever
Easy install better than separate radio,
Pros: very easy to install
Cons: I hate dealing with Sirius/XM !!!!!!! They are a pain! I bought head unit with H.D., and Pandora in hopes of dumping XM.
PNP Works great...
Pros: Like uninterruputed music this is it
Easy install, works great.
This tuner matched my Kenwood receiver head seamlessly with my vehicle. Installation was easy. The product was very high quality. The cords had more than enough length to run anywhere in the vehicle.
Pros: Quality Price Ease of Use
Cons: Free 3 month XM only lasted 3 weeks before it shut off. Promptly renewed my subscription, and no problem
WORKS AWESOME WITH MY PIONEER AVH-X3500 BLUETOOTH STEREO (CAR) WITH BACKUP CAMERA. VERY EASY TO POWER UP OR SWITCH MODES. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I JUST HAVE SO MANY OPTIONS WITH ITUNES RADIO, PANDORA B LUETOOTH, AND HD RADIO THAT I MAY JUST USE FOR THE NEWS , SPORTS, AND COMEDHY ASPECTS OF WHAT SIRIUS HAS TO OFFER.
Pros: ALL POSITIVE VERY EASY TO USE WITH THE PIONEER AMP AND TUNER
Cons: NONE, JUST NOT FREE. I CAN SEE WHY MANY PEOPLE ARE JUST GOING WITH PANDORA AND SLACKER AS THEY ARE FREE AND WORK JUST AS WELL.
Awesome product, does exactly what it's intended to do. Plugged right into the back of my head unit, mounted the antenna on the dash and sent a signal and had my SiriusXM running in no time.
Pros: Easy to attach and setup.
Good little piece of hardware.
Pros: Easy to install
Nice Product, easier to Install than what I thought!!
Pros: Ease of Installation
Works as expected. Compact size and easy to install.
Pros: Doesn't require separate power source, it receives power from the head unit.
Cons: None that I can see.
This Sirius attachment works exactly as I hoped it would. It was a breeze to install. Picks up channels reliably, and is actually better sounding and more responsive than factory satellite tuners I've used in the past. I put the antenna on my dashboard, so far it picks up everywhere except in the garage, as expected. The antenna is very easy to relocate in the future as it's just a magnet.
Pros: Works great, cheap. Tiny, easy to find a space for it, and it was very easy plug and play installation.
This module made hooking Sirius up easy and no wires hanging out front like old set up....
Installed this with a Alpine INE-S920hd HU- works perfect
Pros: Works as it should
Your response to the fact that the tuner which came with order did not work was excellent, A CREDIT TO YOUR SERVICE, The replacement tuner arrived in 2 days, was connected right away and wok'd like a champ.
Pros: so easy to install
Super easy to install it just plugs in.Sirius tuner mounts to harness or a dash bracket with wire ties, no holes to drill and screws to put in. Think out the antenna location and wire routing ahead of time and you will get an install that looks like it came from the factory that way.
Pros: worksbas advertised
Worked for a few days, issue with SiriusXM regarding a new radio ID
Simple install, worked immediately.
Pros: No Problems. Simple.
I needed this for my new receiver. It was easy to install and works perfectly.
Install was easy, as was activation. Had a old standalone unit that I never used, so now I'll actually use my subscription!
So easy, fits like a charm. Receives very well. Wires fit under windshield seal, down under all weather strips and under dash.
Pros: We'll made, wire long enough to go where you want.
Simple to install. I really like the compact size which makes placement easy
Pros: Small package Easy installation
as with all the tuners I have purchased over the years it does what it is intended to do and installs easily.
Pros: ease of installation
Cons: awkward angled connector. But this in minor it saves space behind the head unit.
Easy to install, sounds a bit better than my old FM direct adapter.
Pros: 60 minute rewind on all channels saved in the presets.
Cons: 90 degree connector at receiver end creates strain. Not compatible with a la carte service.
This is a great tuner. Hardly any wires and extremely easy to install.
Pros: Quick install. Works great
Its a great unit!! Love SIRIUS!!!!!
Pros: Everything Sirius
Great add on to a nice head unit
Pros: Less channel surfing
Works great. The pause and rewide are a big plus.
Cons: None so far.
Great way to add SIRIUS XM.
Pros: Easy to setup and install
This is an awesome device. Just exactly what I wanted. An "out-of-sight" SM tuner that works with my radio. Takes a little forethought to place the antennae, but that is with ANY after market XM antennae. Its really easy though.
Pros: "Out-of-Sight" installation (to be done when radio is installed). Simple instructions and easy installation. It is actually less expensive than the visible after market units sold in stores.
Cons: Not a one!
Works seemlessly with the Alpine head unit i purchased.
Pros: Ease of installation and sound qualtity
Cons: Only runs on the XM band. I had a Sirius accoount and had to upgrade to premium to keep some of the channels i enjoyed.
Easy installation and performs excellent. If installing new radio make sure you plan ahead. Took my dash apart several times to access back of radio for BT doggle, A/V inputs then lastly to connect SiriusXM tuner:-)
Pros: GREAT CRUTCHFIELD PRICE!!
Easy to use and install. Sat radio at it's finest.
Pros: Easy to install, once installed it's over and done, head unit does the rest.
Cons: My only issue is the fact that not all channels are available on the unit, you need to download an app for your smart phone then tune to the channel you want, it uses your data, for my location the cell signal is not always available that is why I got the sat radio. I would like to see sirus fix this.
What can you say this thing does the job. it sounds great and I had it mounted on the dash instead of the roof. I had some trouble with competition from my FM antennae, but relocating the antennae helped.
Pros: no extra radio face in my car
Cons: none really
Item is a great addition to my stereo and easy installation just took time to run antenna to stereo
Pros: easy install
Cons: have to pay for service.
This is a great addition to a Sirius ready in-dash radio! It integrates with the radio and provides any/all the display that a dedicated satellite radio does. Installation was a snap.
Pros: Integrates flawlessly with the Sirius ready radio
Easy to install great instructions
Pros: It's all good
So easy to install, and works very well. I was lazy and just stuck the antenna on my dash, up against the windshield. I did hide the antenna wire along the edge of the dash, against the windshield. Great addition to my new Pioneer HU!
Pros: Ease of installation
A must have with any XM ready newer radio
Pros: Easy Install just takes a few minutes
A great add on for my new Pioneer head unit! was glad to get xm back with this very easy to install
Wanted to get back to having XM radio in my truck again, but I didn't want to have a portable unit - they seem to bounce around or stick out too much. Bought this when I replaced my factory radio with a Kenwood unit and I'm glad I did. No more worrying about static on those long road trips!
Once I got the antenna cable routed the rest was simple. Basic Plug N Play
Cons: Had to call Customer Service to get the Radio added to my existing account. Tried the web site approach, limited options.
I had to purchase this SiriusXM tuner after purchasing a new Kenwood Excelon KDC-X797 car stereo. At first I didn't realize (pay attention) to the fact that my old Sirius Tuner was not compatible with new deck due to plug change (new one is smaller). The marketing and customer support kept saying it's no longer Sirius, it is the new SiriusXM tuner and programming may be different. So I was then worried about my favorite channels going away. Well, I still have all my channels (Alt Nation, Shade45, among others) and worried for nothing. Connected this tuner to new deck and worked like a charm. Also got a nice 3 month trial subscription, but I already had an account so converted it to my paid account once I was satisfied with the unit.
Pros: Compact, easy to install
Cons: Can't think of any, other than worried about programming (which turns out I worried for nothing).
Unit works flawlessly. Enjoying crystal clear sat radio on the road. Unit is running on Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS.
Pros: Control through head unit. Simple install.
I connected this tuner to my Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS and product worked flawlessly. The hardest part of this whole project was snaking the Antenna through the firewall to the front. Very easy to install.
Pros: Make adding satellite to an SirriusXM head unit childs play
Not much to say. It works as it should.
Installed the SirriusXM tuner behind my Pioneer head unit by zip tying it to the bracket in the dash. Used the original SirriusXM antenna that came with my 2011 Dodge Ram, so no routing another cable through out the vehicle.
Pros: Made bringing satellite radio installation easy with no problems at all.
It does it's job with my head unit. That's all I could expect.
Pros: Long wire to antenna, took it all the way from dash to year of full size SUV, up to the roof.
Product was good, Sirius customer service was horrible. Argued about the three month free subscription, I still do not have it. Then it took me four days for them to understand what unit I had and to get the receiveer working. They must have sent 10 signals to get it working and then out of the blue it worked. Horrible
Pros: Good Product
Cons: Sirius Customer services is horrible
I only bought this because my original stereo system had it and they said that I couldn't use the original stuff with the Pioneer system which I didn't like. So I took off a star for that reason. Installed in my 2010 Mazda MX-5 Miata
Pros: Easy to install
Very simple plug and play. I installed this into a 2008 Hummer H3 Alpha. I did not want to use the magnetic antenna, after a search I was able to find a male K Fakra connector to male SMB connector, (this plugs into a connector behind the glove box) utilizing the factory antenna..
Pros: Easy install plug and play
If I could have used the shark fin antenna that came on my 4Runner, I would have given this unit five stars. I penalized it two stars since I couldn't use that and had to route the antenna wire to the rear of the vehicle.
Pros: Works great
Cons: Can't use my existing shark fin antenna.
Nice tuner, easy to install. I installed it on my boat.
Pros: Easy to install
Easy install with Kenwood Excelon KDC-X397. Nothing to it. Would have been nice to have some zip ties included as they're pretty cheap and are required in the instructions.
Pros: Works like a charm.
Cons: There was no picture for routing the antenna for a wagon but Crutchfield helpdesk helped with that. And the aforementioned zip tie thing.
Nice unit, works very well. Installation is a complete nobrainer! Sounds great too! My only complaint is that there's no adapter at Crutchfield for using the factory Sirius antenna with this tuner. I did find three at 2 different websites (Which I won't name in this review). So I ordered the cheapest one, problem solved! This sure made my installation quick, compared to having to run a new antenna cable under the headliner to use the little magnet mount antenna that comes with the unit. I'd easily give this one five stars if this seller would start stocking the necessary adapter.
Pros: Easy installation and fantastic programming variety.
Cons: No available FAKRA to SMB adapter at Crutchfield, for using factory installed Sirius antenna.
I had this installed with my Kenwood head unit and could not be happier. Only thing one sees is the tiny little antenna mounted on the roof of the car. The overseas operators can be a little frustrating if your not used to the accent.
Pros: Incredible simplicity.
I purchased this in conjunction with a Kenwood DNX570HD Navigation Receiver, installed in a 2004 Pontiac Vibe. The installation went great. It was pretty basic actually. The most difficult part was routing and installing the antenna. The unit came with 3 month of SiriusXM All Access. The activation went flawless. I was on the phone less than 5 minutes and active in less than 10!
Pros: Compact Design Fits Anywhere Under the Dash Seamless Compatibility with Kenwood Head Unit Easy Activation
Cons: Antenna Wire Routing
Great Addition to Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997 Receiver
Everybody I know agreed that having a satellite radio is good.
Pros: You won't lose your favorite station while youdrive out of state. Easy installation, and seamless setup.
Cons: Not all the station sound good. At least in my case, there are stations that sound crystal clear, while others don't. In fact, my fm hd radio manages to receive second channels fm hd stations that sound a lot better than the Sirius. Why? I don't know. Is not Sirius suppose to be highest qualit radio signal you can get, since is digital and close to cd quality? I'm a little disappointed.
I have owned different satellite radios using XM and Sirius satellites. The radios using the sirius satellites work much better in Virginia. This tuner uses the XM satellite.I loose signal much more often than with the sirius tuner in the same vehicle.
Pros: Great sound when in open flat areas.
Cons: Poor reception from Virginia and north
Interfaced with my new system just as advertised
Cons: I did not like having to pay for a new subscription when all I did was buy a new radio for the same car.
Extremely easy to install! Plug and play for sure!
I own 8 personal vehicles. I have 6 that I drive regularly, and one that is the Daily Driver. I recently upgraded to a BlueTooth compatible Alpine in the DD which I drive every day for work. I also have a SuperDuty that I drive for long trips and towing 5-7 times a year, and just bought an Alpine BT for that truck. I don't see the point of paying ~$$$ a year each for a subscription to XM. particularly for the SD which is only driven perhaps 25 days a year. . XM Customer Service is the worst of ANY company I've ever dealt with, so I'm contentious about value-received for amount paid. . So I'd like to be able to transfer the receiver from the DD to the SuperDuty when needed for the occasional use of the "big truck". The other cars are seldom driven far enough to miss having XM. I have ipod which usually is enough, and a docking station XM receiver for those if I want XM for a trip. It would be really nice if the receiver had its own detachable plug, and replacement cables were available so one could install multiple cables and antennas routed to the glove box or other convent location, and the receiver could be easily transferred from car to car without having to remove the head unit from the dash. In the SuperDuty, the retrofit installation kit for a DIN mount is a MAJOR pain to deal with once its snapped into position. Because of the hassle involved in quickly/easily transferring this receiver between the 2 trucks, I haven't yet purchased one.
Pros: Easy install.
Cons: Horrible customer service with XM. Can't be easily transferred from car to car without removing head unit.
Easy to connect. It was compatible with my OEM installed antenna, so no unsightly wires on the exterior.
Pros: It works. What else is there to say.
Cons: Should be free since a subscription is required. It will cost you $15 to transfer an existing subscription.
When I told the Crutchfield team what I wanted they mentioned this as an add on to the sony radio
Pros: Hook up was EASY!
Cons: None yet
It's hard to improve on a factory Bose system in a Caddy, except when the original system is pre-XM/mp3. the XM tuner mated with a kenwood head unit brings the caddy up to date with the ability to tune into satellite radio
Pros: ease of installation
I bought this unit for my wife and her 'soccer Mom cruiser'. The SiriusXM is matched with the Kenwood DDX-470 head, Clarion XC1410 amp and four Kenwood speakers. I'm glad the antenna wire is long; I like to keep my wiring clean and hidden as much as possible. I was able to place the magnetic mount centered on the rear of the roof of my wife's 2005 Malibu, run the wire done through the window drip channels, through the trunk, under the door sills with the factory wiring, behind the dash and still have enough slack to route the wire safely and unseen. Connecting the unit to the head was as simple as it can get. No problems with reception or quality of sound or components.
Pros: Long antenna wire, easy installation.
super easy to install just plug it in to the receiver and run your antenna and your done no more having to wire it to power and ground it just one connection super easy and a small foot print
Pros: small foot print super easy install
Easy to install (the antenna was the most work out of entire effort). Just worked. Interesting that in downtown areas with tall building get constant satellite fade. Not sure if roof mounting is not ideal or what?!
Pros: Works and Sirius has another subscriber
Cons: Satellite fade sometimes and monthly cost. :(
easy install works great
Pros: easy install, easy operation with kenwood head unit, inexpensive
Cons: lots of wire, antenna location
I bought this tuner with a Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS in February. In SiriusXM mode, the deck would sporadically display "check tuner" and no audio could be heard. No navigation could be made through the satellite radio mode on the deck. You just had to switch to an alternate input until you turned the car off for an extended length of time, and prayed it came back. It usually did, but sometimes 24+ hrs later. I checked and re-checked all the connections. Found on some forums that some aftermarket steering wheel buttons caused problems. I am not using any of those. Decided that I would try uncoiling the excess antenna wire and rerouting them away from any other wire looming under the dash. It's three days later, and the problem has yet to return.
Pros: Small footprint Durable Connectors seem stout
Cons: connector for head unit is a 90-degree boot style. Well, the wire side of the boot faces the sky, so the wire has to bend 180 degrees in a confined area. Tuner worked ~60% of the time. Head unit displayed "Check Tuner" and would not work at all at least once a day.
Does the job it is intended for. It was easily integrated to my Kenwood receiver.
Pros: easy integration good reception ( with dome mounted to roof)
As part of an overall car stereo aftermarket retrofit package, I bought this unit to replace a dashboard dock unit I had FOR YEARS. I incorporated the tuner into my car with a new Kenwood DPX 500 BT, and a new ASWC-1 SW controller. All these components were selected using Crutchfield's car stereo component matching guide online. As expected, it installed simply, was recognized immediately, and tuned right in! It is a small enough unit to fit very comfortably in the dash void behind the stereo. I love not having the tuner hidden from sight. All in all , if you want crystal clear commercial free music radio programming, this is the way to go.
Pros: So many stations, one could go numb trying to find everything you love. Compact, easy to install, ready to use, and powerful enough. Hardly any dropouts so far.
Cons: OK, lets get serious, Sirius; if you REALLY want to provide outstanding customer support, then do NOT route my call to a developing nation. Yes, we all need work, and we all need to be fed, but when you are a communications company (which indeed you are; cry-kee! It's radio!), it should be a priority that each of your employees, whether overseas or right here in the good ol' USA know how to clearly communicate without dialect or accent if they are speaking English. Had problems on the phone...
Works great, it took only minutes to install. It makes your install very clean
Replaced my stock CD receiver in my 1995 GMC Safari with a Kenwood KDC-X997 SiriusXM ready receiver I had bought through Crutchfield, and was looking for a SiriusXM tuner when I received an email from Crutchfield that this tuner was on sale. Purchased it and have no regrets. The tuner came with everything except two zip ties to attach the tuner body anywhere one would like. Clear and brief instructions that one really does not need because there are only two jacks where the two included wires match up. Simple connection to the rear of the KDC-X997 with the included wire of ample length, followed by another simple plug-in of the antenna wire, and I was instantly listening to SiriusXM with the included 3 month trial subscription. Hardest part was snaking the antenna wire to where I wanted but with the length of antenna wire included, I could have routed it to the far end of my truck. The magnetic antenna grabs metal firmly. The tuner even came with clips for holding the antenna wire if one chooses to attach the antenna on a sloped part of one's vehicle. The reception is pretty good so far. I have noticed it does get blocked if under a heavy canopy of trees, or when in the city, but it gets better reception than the stock SiriusXM radio in my 2008 Subaru Legacy. Overall, for the price I paid and the ease of installation, it is wonderful. Road trips, parking lot parties and tailgating are just that much better with this hooked up.
Pros: Almost everything included for installation, wires of sufficient length, small form factor, ease of installation, price point
Cons: Reception gets blocked by heavy tree foliage or buildings (I think that may be universal for sat radios); annoying that zip ties were not included (It would not be too costly to include a few in the kit?)
Very easy install...took longer to take the panels off on my Jeep to install the antenna than to actually wire this up. Very painless and worked as soon as I finished with rest of stereo install to give me bright clear satellite sound.
Pros: easy install, sounds better than any factory installed Sirius tuner I have had.
Super easy install..Better reception than I thought I would get with antena placement on dash. I would recomend this tuner to anyone.
Pros: Easy installation..Great support from Critchfield..
Replaces a Roady unit with FM modulation. Outstanding reception, no more changing FM channels to receive signal as I travel.
Pros: No more changing FM channels to receive signal as I travel. Unit out of site, tunes through radio.
Super easy install!!
Pros: Magnetic mount antennae
Cons: Outside mounting
I bought this as an add-on to my new Pioneer receiver. I will NEVER use Sirius XM online chat for customer service again as long as I am breathing..... because of typos it took me 15 minutes before the agent would recognize me as my account owner, after initiating the chat from my secure account logon. Pretty much the most exasperating thing I have done in years, the angrier I got, the more typos I made! After finally getting that straightened out, they charged me an additional $15 to deactivate my old receiver and activate the new one. Later I realized that i hadn't been given the 3 free months promised on the Crutchfield purchase. Made a phone call this time, fairly satisfactory results and 3 months premium service. The tuner works fine!! Great price. Excruciating torturous chat support. Would have given it 5 stars if I didn't want to commit suicide or homicide (couldn't make up my mind) after dealing with Sirius online chat customer service.
Pros: Good hardware, easy install. Nice 3 free months when you get it.
Cons: Sirius has the worst online chat customer service in my 50 plus years on this planet.
Works as expected simple install
Pros: works great
Cons: Getting wire into truck - Not a CON of the product
Great add-on! Easy installation!
Pros: Ease of installation
Cons: SIRIUS personnel tried to scam me out of the 3-month free trial. Their computers were down that day and I had to go through someone that wasn't very enthusiastic about helping me... They told me they would give me one (1) month free all-access, but I stood my ground and they finally, after 15 minutes of back-and-forth with a "manager", approved it.
Installation was a snap, and reception is good.
Pros: Good reception
Cons: Sound is lower on satellite than on standard radio channels, Also Sirius XM charged me $15 to transfer my service. I've been a customer over 7 years!!!!!!
Nice compact unit. Easy connection with XMSirius ready receiver. Mounted antenna inside car, on dash at the base of the windshield. Got good reception, no drops so far.
Pros: Easy to install. Compact.
Cons: XMSirius charges $15 to change subscripton over to new tuner. Doesn't apply if you're a new subscriber.
easy to install. I don't really like the new smaller antenna though
Cons: smaller antenna seems to lose signal often
Works great and was easy to install. Although the antenna instructions are a little vague there are plenty of insightful YouTube videos on the web that a very helpful.
Pros: Small easy adapter to install.
Cons: Instructions vague.
Great product! I hooked it up to my Kenwood receiver with ease and had my XM radio working in no time.
Easy to install with the provided instructions. It gets rid of anything worth stealing since everything is behind the dash. Very important when driving in your open top Jeep.
Pros: Hidden, Easy install
Easy to install, works as advertised. Price is ridiculous for what it is. You can purchase a dedicated receiver for less, but if you wish to integrate this is your best option.
Pros: Works, easy to install.
No issues at all. Good radio sound and easy install. The direction were spot on.
Pros: Price, Sound, Install
works great and small enough to locate out of sight.
I am very impressed with the caliber of service I received when I called in with the question about making my Sirius work with my new Kenwood head unit. They knew exactly what I needed and gave me all of the info I would need to install. Received the tuner the next day, and the install was a snap.
Pros: Great customer service. Tuner was exactly what was sold to me over the phone. Easy installation.
Pros: Easy install compact easy to hide
I am so please with Crutchfield, there customer service and there quality of there products that I could have never done better buying my equipment from anyone else. Crutchfield, Sirius/XM, Kenwood you are all the best. 10 times the quality the factory installed. Thanks.
Pros: Everything about the product is a PRO
Cons: Haven't seen one yet and I've been a customer for over 30 years.
Simple installation in a newer radio. I found it a piece of cake to do and it works great! I have been running this system for a month now and have had no problems.
Pros: I found it a simple installation with a newer Sony radio.
Cons: Be sure to check with Crutchfield advisor as to what kind of radio model you have before purchasing. You must have a newer radio.
Don't believe the negative hype on this unit. It is every bit the equal of a pre-installed unit in a new car. If anything, the antenna has been improved; it doesn't drop out, even in an underground garage or while driving under an underpass. It is easily controlled through the head unit, and was a breeze to install. If I could give it 6 stars, I would. It also comes with a free 3-month subscription to the Sirius-XM premier passage. Great purchase.
Installed in 2006 F150 along with new Sony head unit. Routed antenna wire through dash to drivers side door, under rocker panel trim, up to headliner and out through rear brake light. Note, if you don't use the internet side of SiriusXM don't get the free 3 month activation, call them and ask to activate under the premier plan for 11.95 a month, gives you nearly everything except internet access to XM. Pay a year at a time and get a free month.
Pros: Easy install
Great price, could not be easier to install, love the content on SeriusXM. Can't go wrong with this.
Pros: Easy to install, great sound, great price.
Cons: Just have to remember to cancel the subscription when boating season is done. Not a big deal.
very easy to install ,a must for a add on to my Jensen .the factory radio went bad.i install it under the console and used the factory antenna.its out of site and works great
Pros: very small, easy to install
Cons: cost of xm radio
The tuner seems to b working fine...although it seems that the signal does not connect as well as my old one..I get a lot more disconnects so many in fact I'm going to check my connections in the glove box to make sure that it is where it should b..but easy to install...
Pros: best music to listen to in the world and very clean
Cons: lose signal
Easy to add on to my Kenwood head unit. I'm spoiled so I can't go anywhere without my XM!
Pros: Easy to install. Seamless integration with the Kenwood head unit
Very easy to install and works great! Fast shipping, received it in two days.
Pros: Easy install. Easy to use. Great value with three months free all access package!
Cons: Signal cuts out when driving through cities with large buildings and when driving through the country with lots of trees along the sides of the road. This isn't a fault of the product, this has to do with the satellite but still annoying nonetheless.
What can you say. Easy install with perfect/seamless interface with the radio
Pros: very easy install
a must have if you need xmsirius
Simple install on Kenwood head unit. Very good reception. Service is kinda expensive though.
Pros: Ease of install
Cons: Price of subscription
I just hooked this up to the Alpine CDE-HD149BT head unit in my 2004 Ford Ranger Super Cab. It was plug and play as easy as it gets. The tuner is meant to be mounted using cable ties. This unit is small so that was not a problem. The antenna gets ran outside and mounts to your roof magnetically. The reception has been excellent. This was on sale at Crutchfield so I feel it was an outstanding value for the cost.
Pros: Great reception, plug and play compatible with many newer name brand head units.
The product plugged right in. Simple instructions and simply user friendly
Pros: Very easy to hook up and use
Worked great, easy to install
Pros: Lots of music to choose from.
Cons: Cuts in and out if not a clear signal
Works great. Is much faster than the SC-C1 tuner when switching between channels and starting up. I am a Sirius Lifetime subscriber since 2004 and I had no problem transferring my account over to this new receiver. Others have mentioned that being a problem, but I had a problem free experience.
Pros: Additional features (might be related to head unit as well), lots of presets, seems to have better reception
Cons: May have account transfer issues, check repeatedly with SiriusXM before buying.
Easy to install, easy to use.
Pros: No hassle install.
The sirusxm tuner was everything I thought it would be and so much more. The ease of use and details it gives plus grouping by genre is awesome. I am glad I got this from Crutchfield, easy ordering, delivered faster than expected and got it for a better price than buying from big box retailers.
Pros: Ease of use. Selection of music, sports and all stations. Anyone thinking of getting this needs to have it.
Cons: Only 6 presets on my jvc indash tv. I wish they had different bands like am/fm stations to add more but more a radio flaw than siriusxm.
Works OK but needs to plug into factory antenna more securely.
I had to replace my old SXM unit that was the size of a book. This unit mounts anywhere and does everything my old unit did and seems to get better reception than the old one ever did. Great size for stashing in a dash
Pros: Super compact size and no power and ground wires to run like the old ones
Cons: haven't found any
First, Sirius subscribers beware, this unit will not work! It is XM Only! I even called both Crutchfield and Sirius customer service to check first. The SiriusXM SXV200V1 Satellite Radio Tuner will NOT work for Sirius only subscribers. You need to use the Siriusconnect SC-C1 Universal Vehicle Tuner Along with corresponding interface to match your head unit. This unit will work if you switch your Sirius subcription to an XM or SiriusXM subscription, which I am not willing to do with my lifetime subscription. This should be more prominent in the description. Also, I was told that Sirius is switching to the XM satellites because they are stronger. Yet for the week I had this installed the signal went out constantly even with unobructed and clear blue skies. Crutchfield was very good about my return/refund of this product.
Cons: Doesn't work with Sirius only subscriptions.
great deal, great unit!!!
For years, i've been using xm with an external receiver, so i've had to use aux cables, fm transmitters, even cassette adapters. Finally, i saw this , and as i was shopping to upgrade my car head unit at the same time, i got one that would work with this device. I have to say, it is sweet to have the xm basically built in, the only drawback is that the unit i bought (a kenwood unit, bt500 something or other) only has one line of display, so i can display, channel, artist name, ttitle/program info, but not all, like i was able to with the various xm radios over the years. However, i Listen to mostly talk channels, so this is a minor nuisance rather than a serious drawback. Overall, I love the unit, and i love that it is a direct connection to the head unit, as it gives noticibly higher quality of sound.
Pros: Easy to install. Elegant alternative to having a separate xm receiver.
Cons: Fewer lines of display than dedicated xm receiver.
The equipment itself is nice, easy to install and use. The radio stations available through XM/Sirius aren't as appealing to me.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: As a christian, the station selection is minimal. Also the news stations are a lot of talk... :(
Great product. Simple to install. Small & lightweight!
Pros: simple installation
I purchase to use with JVC KW-ADV65BT little effort to install. Works great although I could have used the existing satellite antenna with this unit but my 2005 GMC Sierra SLT had XM. I would not have been able to receive all data content on the display screen. I placed the antenna in the middle of the dash below the mirror. Simple and easy to use and the compact black box makes for easy placement without taking up enormous amount of space.
Pros: Ease of install. Compact. Ease of use. Connects to any SiriusXM ready unit.
Easy to install and work great. Just need to find the best location for the antenna.
Pros: Easy to install and link up.
Extremely easy hook-up! Works flawlessly.
Awesome improvement from the other Sirius tuners that needed an adapter with its own power source. Buy a receiver that is SiriusXM ready and requires this tuner. Super slim, light, and installation is cake! Highly recommend!!
Pros: No middle-man SiriusXM adapter that needs its own power source! Slim enough to fit practically anywhere. Setup is a cinch. Works with your current SiriusXM antenna without having to rewire---at least it did mine.
very easy to make a hook up and get your satellite music up and going!! no time at all
Pros: easy to set up, pretty much plug and play
Cons: transfereing this unit to be used from original satellite receiver, siruis is a pain to deal with
As a long time Sirius listener, finally decided to replace the dock and play with this unit. The small size and straight forward design made it a snap to install. Sounds great.
Pros: Sounds good, easy to install.
easy to install works great.directions are easy to follow.
Pros: easy instalion. great instructions
Works exactly like it says it does. Just make sure you purchase a compatible stereo.
I bought this tuner to replace an old one that wasn't compatible with my new stereo in my Harley Davidson Electraglide Standard. It was truly a "plug and play"!!! The made it so easy, literally one cable hook up plus the antenna. I give this product and SiriusXM 5 Stars, only because there wasn't 6!!! P.S. EXCELLENT customer service also!!!
Pros: The unit is very lightweight and almost fits in the palm of your hand and receives excellent!
Cons: There are none!!!
Sweet unit that's out of sight and adds Sirius to the head unit. Just like having factory built in unit
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Connection is a little loose.
Wanted Sirius XM, Got Sirius XM
Pros: Very simple DIY install
Easy to install and activate plus with rebate almost free, not counting subscription.
Pros: Easy to install, nice to listen to.
Cons: Subscription price too $$$ but what can you do. Also no more lifetime deals.
Piggybacks onto my Sony MEX-BT4100P and works perfectly.
Pros: No more xm "box" hanging off my glovebox!
They really improved this tuner from the original! Much smaller and way too easy to install! Really can't go wrong!
Pros: Great compact unit
This was the easiest part of the entire install. Just route the antenna and plug it in. That's it! The head unit controls all of the functions and you have access to the great music and programs. My radio even works inside my garage! I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to add XM to their vehicle. Plus the rebate makes it more affordable.
Pros: Easy install!
The SXV200V1 Tuner works fine. The antenna works fine and the wire attached to it was thin enough so that it was easy to snake through the car.
Pros: Good, competent product.
Cons: The wire attached to the antenna could have been a lot longer. I own a van and was unable to run the antenna wire from the top rear of the roof back to the front of the van.
It works perfect with my Sony head unit. Good clean signal, solid performance.
Pros: Works perfect
Works just like a factory installed version.
This tuner is the way to go! Super easy to connect!
Pros: Easy installation
The unit works great. Installation was a snap. Just plugged it in to my Sirius XM readio radio and called to have it activation.
Pros: Works Great Simple Installation
Needed to replace an ancient XM add on unit. Went with a new head unit and this tuner. Works great and XM rebate paid for the product.
Pros: Cost and availability
Cons: None so far.
It arrived quickly and exactly as advertised. Great reception, easy install.
Pros: Easy to install, easy to use
Good reception. Not too difficult to install.
Easy install, nough said.
Pros: Easy install, excellent reception.
No issues. Installed by Geek Squad. Integrates easily with aftermarket replacement.
Pros: Works great.
Reception- very good. Integration- acceptable. Specifics of performance- you'd think in an age when Pandora and others- even Tune In Radio, can provide a richer end-user experience, that SXM would have been able to figure out how to integrate more metadata such as cover art. But no, other than channel logos... so the final experience pushes me toward other technologies. We'll see how long a satellite subscription remains worth-while.
Pros: Performs well
Cons: Not enough Metadata
Product is great! Very easy to install. Radio is much better with xm!
The radio looks great in my 2004 Cadillac escalade...although I had to place a couple of orders to get my desired wants met...to get my OEM controls to stay operative.. everything still turned out fine..
Pros: The Kenwood ddx419 makes my escalade ext looks more sophisticated...
Cons: It would be nice to hide it away when I'm away from the truck
This little unit is awesome!! Just plugs into the back of the radio. I panicked a little when the instructions said that the magnetic antenna pod must mount on the roof or decklid. I really didn't want an add-on that looks like an add-on. Called Crutchfield and was told that the antenna could be mounted inside the vehicle on the dash, as long as there was a clear line of sight through the windshield. They also indicated that it could even be mounted under the dash as long as no metal interfered with the line of sight through the windshield. No metal obstruction. I had to remove the upper piece of the dash above the radio (A/C and heat vents) to install the radio anyway, so I looked for a spot to mount the antenna. There was a round hole in the metal dash frame for an entry level single center speaker that was unused in my car. I fabricated a simple flat metal bracket that sits across the speaker hole, and is screwed to the dash at each end. Fed the antenna pod from behind the radio and stuck it on the bracket. It has a strong magnet and a low profile, so it stays put and the dash cover popped back on. Can't even tell it's there, and it receives all SiriusXM stations.
After years of messing around with all those cables and stand alone recievers something that works and works well is a welcome change and all through the car radio . About time for something this simple.
Pros: easy install and works.
Cons: None so far.
Worked fine, just as expected. Interfaces with the AVH-X3500BHS perfectly.
This is the most misleading product I have seen in many years. To allow this confusion on a website like Crutchfield is embarassing. I purchased from Crutchfield the SXM after I searched through intentially misleading "SAT Ready", "SiriusXM Ready", and down by the barcode in small letters; "XM Network". After I installed it inside my dash I went to "swap" radios at Sirius and this device is only XM. You need to STOP the intential confusion between all the "ready" advertisements. Either provide the service or not. If it will not work with Sirius remove the name or place the words "Sirius XM" will NOT work with Sirius. Stop using Sat Ready and crap like that if it only works with XM. For any of you lawyers out there, great opportunity for a class action lawsuit for the whole Automotive OEM suppliers market. They are intentially misleading to sell products to unsuspecting customers and we the people, end up with allot of crap that only does half of what was advertised. This is what is wrong with America today, fraudulent advertising is not only accepted, it is promoted. You should be ashamed, for putting up with this crap.
Pros: works only on XM eventhough the Sony Radio and the SXV both report boldly "Siruius XM" and I filled out all the Crutchfield website what fits for your Radio. I said Sirus got XM now I have to change out my dash, again. I have cancelled my long relationship and subscription to Sirius because of this advertising ploy. That is the pro I no longer subscribe to Sirius Radio and I will no longer purchase from Crutchfield, I trusted you to the the Pros and help make my selection simple.
Cons: Fraud in advertisement, I am very displeased. I am no longer "Sirius XM ready"
Very Easy to install; just plugs directly into the back of my Pioneer head unit. I read many videos about installing the antenna on the roof, but I decided to mount on my dash next to the door pillar, and it works great. If you get under a building or a covered area, the feed will stop, but it would do that on the roof too.
Great addition to the 01 Odyssey for a great price. Nothing beats satellite radio on a long trip. Installed with Dual X2DMA400 stereo. Installtion of the antennea was very simple, and the XM tuner installation was relatively straight forward, with the only complicating factor being finding a suitable location for the XM tuner unit & wiring behind the stereo so that it wouldn't interfere with the opening/closing of the cup-holder tray under the stereo.
Pros: Price, Installation, Great music
Doesn't get any easier than this! Plug into radio, connect antenna, mount somewhere! I used my old XM antenna from my old XM To Go radio. That unit had to be plugged in, required 12 volts, etc. This is hidden and embedded, and works great. XM connected me at the "welcome back" rate for 6 months.
Pros: Simple, works as advertised!
Cons: None at all.
Excellent product and very easy to install. i would recommend to friends.
when they say "do not mount receiver on dash" they mean it. Mount on roof and it works better than factory SAT ant. installs.
Pros: Great reception
Cons: XM and Sirius still invoice separately
Super easy to install and works as expected. I have been a long time XM subscriber and wanted another unit for my wife's car. You can still use this unit for XM (i.e. you aren't required to switch over to the dual service) so I picked one up. I would have given it 5 stars but XMRADIO charged me to transfer the unit (i.e. switch out this radio ID with another on my account) which I thought was crazy...so I took a star off!!
Pros: Easy install
Cons: XMRADIO is fee happy...guess it was coming but hate to see it.
Installed only Tundra with alpine head unit simple install. My truck can with xm so I soldered a new connector on the harness and used the stock xm antenna.
Pros: Easy install
Cons: Cold use a rf adapter for the antenna
WORKS AS DESCRIBED SATISFIED.
Pros: EASY TO USE
this cant get any easier to install. just plug and play
Pros: simple install
Easily integrated with the Sony MEX-BT3000P radio that I bought. Worked right out of the box. When my $50 rebate arrives then the real value of this product will have jumped from a 4 star to a 5 star product.
This unit installed very easy to my Kenwood 9990HD stereo. Works very well good upgrade from my SP5 external unit.
Pros: Lets you do every option pause, rewind etc, very easy to hook up, small so it can be hidden very well behind deck.
Cons: None for me.
