Enjoy the drive with SiriusXM

With SiriusXM's compact SXV300V1 tuner, you can liven up your daily drive with your favorite satellite radio programming. Small enough to fit neatly behind your car's dash, the SXV300V1 plugs into your SiriusXM-Ready™ car stereo without the need for any additional cables or interfaces. This complete package includes the hideaway satellite radio tuner, plus an installation guide and an exterior antenna that attaches with a powerful magnetic base.

This latest and greatest (so far) SiriusXM tuner gives you all the features you're used to, plus some very cool new ones. With the SXV300V1 and a growing list of new SiriusXM-Ready car stereos, you can create a daily programming package that's uniquely yours.

The SXV300V1 will plug into aftermarket in-dash receivers that have a "SiriusXM-Ready" logo. It will also connect to select factory radios with a Vais Technology adapter (not included). You'll also need an XM or SiriusXM subscription.  Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Limited service is available in Alaska.

New features with select car stereos

With select car stereos (see note below), you can access some great new SiriusXM features. Want to take some of the hassle out of your commute? The Traffic & Weather Now feature can access the latest info whenever you want to hear it. If you're a sports fan, SportsFlash™ will notify you when a big play happens during a game involving one of your favorite sports teams. And if you're a music lover, TuneMix™ plays a unique blend of songs chosen from your favorite music channels on the SiriusXM Preset Band. You can even skip songs you don't want to hear.

If you have an older SiriusXM-compatible receiver, you won't get the features above, but you'll still get all the SiriusXM music, entertainment, news, and sports programming you love, plus familiar features like Replay and iTunes® song tagging. With the SXV300V1, you can even set Song/Artist/Game alerts, so you'll always know when your favorite tunes or teams are playing on another channel. And you'll be able to enjoy those new features when you upgrade your receiver. Either way, SiriusXM's vast lineup of music, sports, news, and more will make your daily drive a whole lot more entertaining.

More channels for more choices

Depending on your subscription package, you'll also be able to enjoy SiriusXM's Xtra Channels with the SXV300V1, giving you access to over 20 new music, sports, entertainment, plus SiriusXM Latino, a collection of dedicated Spanish-language channels.

Important Note: Your receiver MUST have the "SiriusXM-Ready" logo — this adapter is not compatible with receivers that have "SAT Radio Ready", "Sirius Ready DC", or "XM Ready" logos. To access Traffic and Weather Now, SportsFlash, and TuneMix, your receiver must be a new model that supports the latest SiriusXM features.

Installation Note: If your car has a FAKRA-style satellite radio antenna connection at the radio location, we offer an adapter that will connect this tuner to your car's factory satellite radio antenna.

I am returning this tuner. There is nothing the matter with the tuner. I'm just not that excited about the programming on Sirius XM.

Pros: Inexpensive access to SiriusXM

Cons: Sirius XM is filled with a lot of fluff programming.

Unit works great. Wish I would have purchased the antenna adapter cable. The website stated I did not need the cable so I took it out. Had to modify the existing connector on the factory wiring to make it plug in, then had to secure it since it was not a snug fit.

After-market unit not-user friendly

Harvey from Woodland Hills, CA on 9/4/2017

In my previous car (2006-20016) the XM radio was built in and very easy to operate. I bought a new vehicle where I had to install the SXV300 after-market Sirius XM tuner. This has not been very satisfactory. First, it runs from the iPod screen, so if I want to use my iPod, the XM has to be in plugged. Next, spinning the wheel to tune to another station is incredibly slow and time consuming-- you can spin the wheel 8 times around and move 2 stations; usually I just use the button the steering wheel and have to push it 10 or 11 times to get to my station-- or 100x if that is what it takes. Stupid! Next-- when I used to get my presets it was one or two strokes at the most, and VERY easy to set. It is a bloody ordeal with this unit! Just to play them, you push a button that gets you to a screen, you scroll down to Presets, push the button; you now have several choices, you scroll down a few clicks to "Artists" as that is the only choice that works--which is not exactly intuitive. Then you have to scroll through the presets to get to the one you want, which can be quite a few. Then, you push the button, and you get the choice "Play or Delete" and you push Play. Finally, you have your station about minute and 10 strokes later. REALLY STUPID. Ok, then to set up presets is incredibly annoying and takes many, many steps. I can't recall how to do it and there is no online manual--only for installation. SUPER STUPID. Terrible product poorly supported. Designed by a primate, no doubt.

Pros: Excellent selection of channels

Cons: Horrible interface to set/access pre-set favorite stations No online users manual, only installation guide Tuner selector inefficient and ineffective Takes up iPod jack in car Cuts out instantly going under freeway overpass

Why wouldn't you?

So far, this seems like a too good to be true deal. Free unit (after rebate) free service (3 months). No prior experience w/ satellite radio, but thus far, great reception, mega variety and quick and easy install. We'll see if I change my opinion after a few months of paying for service, but for now Highly recommended.

Pros: Great deal, easy hookup, variety.

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The team at Crutchfield are great! They are friendly, knowledgeable and provide great information. My biggest concern about using this product on my 1994 Grand Cherokee was getting the cable from the exterior to the interior. There was not direct information available for my vehicle. My plan was to mount this on the roof, in the center, at the rear, adjacent to the rear lift gate. When I examine that area I discovered that there are three grommets for wires and the rear washer hose to enter the cabin from the lift gate. The washer hose grommet was closest to the center, so I popped it out, carefully made a radial slice cut from the perimeter to the hose. The cut opening was expanded, the antenna cable was placed in this new gap, then the opening was closed. The grommet was pushed back into the body hole. The result is the cable is protected by the rubber grommet cushioning and the new opening is also sealed by the compliant rubber. One HUGE benefit of this Sirius antenna is the cable. The cable jacket is tough, slippery and SMALL. All of these are HUGE aids for the installation. If there are any nits that I would pick it is that the manufacturer henks the cable in a block shape, w/ a bend every three inches. Those packaging bends require extra attention during cable routing through the vehicle, to avoid snags, tighter bends and kinks. The manufacturer should package the cable in a circular loop. The manufacturer includes an Isopropyl alcoho

Pros: Great cable, small outside diameter, slippery jacket, tough jacket

Easy to install in the dash behind your stereo. Just locate your antenna on the roof, route your antenna cable through outside weather stripping until you can locate a way into the car/cab, tuck the cable under the door threshold strip towards the dash, find a way up into the dash towards your stereo and plug into the tuner. Use the ties to strap the receiver to a wire bundle and done. Make sure you copy the receiver ID before installation so you can get your rebate.

1991 Volvo 240 Series
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this XM tuner because they finally made it small enough so as to be much more easily mounted. And the cost of this newer model was 1/2 that of the original they used to sell. Their previous unit was too large for my application and the price was more than I cared to pay . So I waited until a smaller version was offered. Finally, but this latest iteration is pretty small, has tie wrap mounting holes made in it's chassis, which makes it a breeze to mount under the passenger side dash of my 91 Volvo 240 sedan. And the price of this unit was easily affordable. The antenna cable is pleny long to mount the antenna anywhere on the car. I opted to mount mine just in the center, just in front of the windshield on the cowl behind the hood. I routed the cable into the gap between hood and cowl, along the base of the large rubber seal used there under the hood of my 240. Worked out very well and was quite easy to install and routing the wire for the antenna was quite easily accomplished. Only suggestion I have is the squarish black plastic antenna should be offered in colors to help match one's paint color. Other than that , no complaints with installation nor performance of this unit. Price has come down enough, and size of this unit small enough as to make it affordable and easily installable for most anyone. If antennas were offered in colors it'd get a 5 star rating from me. So I gave it a four star rating for lack of choice of antenna color

Pros: Installs easily, unit is small enough (about the size of a smart phone) to mount anywhere underdash of any car . Antenna cable long enough for a full size 70's Lincoln Continental . Reception is great.

Cons: Only con is the square magnectically mounted antenna only comes in the color of gloss black. How about at least offering the magnetic antenna molded in gloss red, gloss white, gloss blue ,gloss yellow, and gloss orange so one can have it blend in with one's paint color ?? You know to help 'hide" it . Please Serius XM ?

Product seems to work great so far. Have been using for a couple of weeks now. Installed it on a Kenwood radio I bought a few years back that was SiriusXM ready. Included plenty of cable to run throughout truck to place the satellite receiver on the roof, which was the trickiest part to getting this tuner setup.

Pros: Plugs right in to a SiriusXM ready radio Long cable provided

Cons: Have to figure out how to run the cable from the back of the radio to outside on the roof of the car/truck

Bill from Ellijay, GA on 8/3/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit was a replacement for the same model that I had installed a few years ago. That unit experienced a antenna failure for no apparent reason. These units seem to function well. The first antenna was mounted on the roof of my 96 Suburban via the door opening and up the side of the windshield. This unit's antenna I took the time to drill a hole in the center of the roof from underneath the roof console and ran the cable above the headliner. I hope I do not experience the same issue. I have these units in 3 cars currently and love the ability to get the same station from North Georgia to South Florida. Siriusxm has the best music line-up in the business. Highly recommend the product and the service. These units are available for just about any radio application, I just installed the commander model in my 2016 Sprinter.

Pros: Uninterrupted radio station from coast to coast.

Cons: None thus far.

John from TX on 7/29/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love this tuner - installed in a 2002 National RV Sea Breeze Class A motorhome. I wasn't sure where to install the antenna, but had seen reference to installation INSIDE the motorhome - just below the fiberglass roof. I tried it, and it works great for me, at least in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I will update this review if I experience any problems while we are on the road in the coming months. I paired this with a Pioneer DEH-X8800BTS; it's a great combination. When switching between PRESET Sirius channels, the Pioneer buffers the broadcast, and starts the current song at the beginning! I have 2 other Sirius radios, and this is the only only that can perform this feat. Highly recommended!

Good size

Sam from Lakeland, TN on 7/8/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like the size. Much smaller than the old one that died. The old one was purchased prior to the Sirius/XM merger so it only worked on Sirius which was fine with me BUT that made the new receiver not compatible with my older Kenwood KDC-MP238 so I had to up-grade the head unit also. That was too bad as the old unit still worked well AND it would control my external CD changer that the new unit will not so I lost that. Also the new unit cannot use the antennae used by the old one. This required me remove the coax and route the new one. A pretty major part of this up-grade. The old unit used a separate DIN cable of considerable length which gave you more options on mounting locations. This unit has a fixed permanent short cable limiting mounting to inside the dash behind the head. I had to get creative creating space that the cord would reach from.

Pros: Much smaller than the old one

Cons: Not compatable with the unit it replaced. Dealing with Sirius/XM to move service from old radio to new radio, a real PITA. They could take a REAL lesson from the folks at Crutchfield who are nothing short of excellent.

This is a great accessory to add to any compatible stereo. It's sound great and the reception is very strong! I love the music I get from SiriusXM!!! There is nothing to see, it stays hidden and doesn't take a lot of space.

Pros: Great reception! Love the music I get from SiriusXM! It's not a bulky item and it stays out of the way.

Cons: I had someone install this for me. I'm not a wire install kind of guy. The installer only took an hour.

Amazingly simple installation to replace Sirius tuner installed 10 years ago in my old Alpine head unit. Basically plug and play. 2 fewer pieces and no wires to splice. If replacing old tuner like I did, thanks to Chris at Crutchfield, he made sure I knew to replace antenna, too (different voltage).

Pros: simple plug and play - 2 wires cannot beat that!

Incredibly easy installation. Just plug the multi-pin cable into the back of your head unit, and then the antenna into this module. I was actually able to use the factory 2006 F-150 satellite antenna by removing the plastic connector housing on the factory antenna end, which saved me a ton of time by not having to run the included antenna to the roof. Very happy with this and with SiriusXM in general.

This was a pretty straight forward installation. I was installing a new head unit so this was the perfect time to add the SiriusXM tuner. My car came with SiriusXM so I had to get the OEM antenna adapter to use the factory satellite antenna. This tuner came with an antenna for those who don't have a vehicle with the satellite antenna already installed. I went to SiriusXM's web site and activated the tuner and was listening to awesome music within a few minutes.

I added this tuner to a Pioneer AVH-X2800BS deck in a 2007 Ford F150. The install of this tuner was simple. The hardest part is running the antenna wire from the roof to the back of the unit. Once installed I activated it on line by replacing an old Sirius Sportster radio. It synced flawlessly to the Pioneer unit. So far, no complaints.

Pros: Easy install, pretty much plug-in-play. Once activated the signal was clear and sounds nice on my Pioneer deck.

I bought this tuner to go with my new Kenwood receiver. I couldn't really pass it up with the tuner being free after getting a mail in rebate. The signal is crystal clear. It is one of the clearest xm signals I've ever heard. The antenna is extremely strong. If you're purchasing a radio that is Sirius Xm ready and you'd be interested in satellite radio at some point, you should take advantage of this offer.

Pros: Easy install. Great rebate promotion.

Cons: none so far.

Fine, but I'm not sold on Sirius XM as a company.

Scott B. from Lawrence, KS on 4/12/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This works well. Plug it into the back of your XM Sirius head unit and place the antennae and find a place to run all the antennae to had unit wire. You will end up snaking antennae wire from the roof mounted magnetic antennae (a separate antennae from your stock one) all the way down the A pillar (or wherever) into the interior and under the dash. That's a lot of skinny black wire, probably not a big deal. But you should be aware. Finally, even though I purchased this tuner for XM Sirius, I decided not to subscribe. Satellite radio seems like a great idea. I've used it years ago. But now you have other options, your phone will pretty much do all you need for your music (and talk) needs. XM sirius is a difficult/sketchy company to deal with. I tried to subscribe but after being on an endless phone tree, where they could not help me, I decided to back away. So bought the tuner, and I wanted to use satellite radio. But the company itself gave me pause.

Pros: works. relatively easy installation, plug in and place antennae.

Cons: solution for antennae wire could be better (lots and lots of wire run from antennae to back of head unit). XM Sirius is kind of a cruddy company

Dylan from Newark, NJ on 2/28/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product. The box contained an instruction manual, the antenna, with a very long cable, and the tuner unit. The tuner unit has about a 2 foot cable to connect up to the radio, which means the perfect placement for the unit itself is right under the steering wheel in the dash. The antenna is magnetic, and it's a very strong magnet. I stuck my antenna right above the windshield on the outside, and ran the cable into the car through the rubber moulding around the door. Once I had the antenna plugged in, I plugged the unit into the back of my radio, and then called up SiriusXM to activate my subscription. The Radio ID is written right on the box it came in. It took about 10 minutes on the phone, and then I sent the refresh signal after clicking a link that was sent to me. The radio was activated within a couple minutes, and tuning stations without a problem.

Pros: Small unit size makes it easy to hide away, cable to connect to the radio is the perfect size, easy to activate, no setup required on the tuner itself

Cons: The antenna cable is extremely long, much longer than I needed. It has a special connector at the end of the cable, so you can't cut it down to shorten it up easily

Worked as expected. The only complaint is that the antenna has a small right angle coaxial adapter on it that can be a major pain to run into the cockpit if you have to drill a hole. You need a large hole and then a rubber grommet and some silicone to seal everything back up. If you vehicle has rubber plugs and holes pre-installed for routing cables, you have nothing to worry about.

The tuner was easy to install and works like it should. The install was plug and play. My F150 had XM factory radio, support said I could not use my factory antennae. The factory antennae had a plastic clip on the end that was easy to remove, and it plugged right into the ne tuner. Works like a charm and I didn't have to run any more wires!

Have had a portable and all the wires and clutter for years in my commuter car. Finally bought an xm compatible radio and made those wires disappear. This works really well if you have a receiver that has user friendly controls.

Pros: Everything hidden in the dash. Easy plug and play set up.

Cons: Sirius XM apparently leaves out long time loyal customers from the $70 rebate. The xm call center is hard to understand(Indonesian?) and they read from a script regardless of the situation at hand. Friendly enough, though.

Sound Quality is Lacking

Rob from Phoenix, AZ on 1/3/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased unit because it was free after rebate and also has 3 months of free service. I've subscribed to satellite radio (XM back in the day, SiriusXM since) on and off over the last decade and a half, and this unit is alright all things considered... but the quality of the sound is still disappointing after all these years. They advertise "near CD quality", but the main music channels are tinny and obviously (over)compressed. The "XTra" channels in the 300-400 range seem to be better than the standard channels that have been around forever. Otherwise, the unit does what it's supposed to. Haven't tried the TuneMix feature yet, and the traffic/weather from what I can tell is just a looping low-quality recording for a selected city (out of a list of about 20). Don't care about sports so no interest in SportsFlash. Not really any reason not to pick this unit up with the rebate and the 3 free months if you're also buying a compatible aftermarket stereo, though be advised that the $70 rebate requires you to have some sort of paid service for two months first (so with the 3 months free, 5 months later you'll get it).

Pros: Easy to install, seamless integration with several aftermarket units

Cons: Sound quality, subscription costs

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this tuner Only because of the advertised Free rebate -- which turned out Not to be a free Rebate, but rather a Credit to Another Required Purchase. My review is based on my experience with customer service: Crutchfield's was exceptional; Sirius not so much. It was hard to reach the right department at the Sirius number -- and/or get a clear explanation of the "rebate" terms; the attitude from the Sirius folks was indifferent and less than helpful. The Sirius product/service was not something I intended to activate or use right away, but I thought since it was "free" I would take advantage of the offer. Only after I received the product and read the "fine print" did I realize how misleading was the advertising. Activation required providing my credit card ... I had no intention of getting roped into a service that I would have trouble discontinuing. The Crutchfield rep was very apologetic and helpful -- giving me a return/credit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As with other Sirius tuners we have purchased, this tuner was easy to install to the head unit, in this case a Kenwood KDC-X998, and to the tuner the antennae plugged easily in.

Pros: Tuner easy to install, and it was easy to engage w/SiriusXM for service, to include the 90 day free service.

Cons: Having to attach the antennae head to the outside of the vehicle, and then run the cable into the interior of the vehicle remains the most negative factor of having after market SiriusXM.

Works as advertised good reception. Just a little difficult to get used to and find songs I like. Maybe with a newer headunit that has the newer capabilities I have read about would be 5 star. I give it 4. Kinda makes me want a new headunit now! hmmm which one to get... (wish JVC didn't abandon volume knob!) Kenwood I guess I may order next. Anyways I like the reception just want more features so I suggest you also get a new headunit as mine is a few yrs old (JVC kw61bt) and lacks some of the features.

Pros: sound quality and number of choices

Cons: monthly bill really sucks if you only listen occasionally. Wish I could see list of what was playing rather than station title

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I picked this up to hook up sat radio to my Sony GS610BT head unit. The tuner works great, and I was able to hide everything but the antenna under my cars trim. Plenty of wire so mounting location is up to you, but grab some zip-ties before you install. No messy wires, and nothing drawing attention to my aftermarket stereo. It plugged right in, with no issues. To note: this will NOT work with any stereo that isn't SiriusXM ready. If you're not sure, it'll have the logo on the screen next to other logos like "iPod ready," "Compact Disc," or "BlueTooth." I would also like to note that the "mail-in-rebate" was actually just a free 3 month subscription to SiriusXMs premium package. I actually like this better as it locked in my monthly discount for after the first 3 months, and mail in rebates usually take 6-8 weeks to come back anyway, at least this way I have something to show for it in the first month. I'm not sure what the issue some people are having with activation, mine was already activated somehow, and all I had to do was add the tuner to my existing subscription.

Pros: discreet plenty of wire=>plenty of mounting options

Cons: wire from antenna is really thin and fragile, be careful when tucking it under trim or you may puncture the sheath. beware of the "mail-in rabate" program.

Beware the Rebate Terms!

J Christopher from Mt. Sinai NY on 9/16/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My older JVC unit failed and I ordered a new one. As the old Sirius tuner add on was not compatible with this new tuner, I also order this new SXV300V1. It would be "free" with the rebate offer, which I read over carefully before ordering. A very easy swap-out in my 2001 high mileage Jetta, and the unit performs well as I listened to Sirius during its promo week But the rebate. The terms require the rebate to be submitted (on line or mail) within thirty days of purchase. The terms also state that the subscription must be activated by Jan 30, 2018 with a "Select" or greater plan and remain active for at least 60 days. I use the Jetta mainly in the winter when my Challenger stays off the roads. So I had no plan to activate the subscription until December when the Challenger subscription expires. But despite the terms, the rebate process will not go beyond the first screen unless the radio is activated. I also see another review that says I would not qualify anyway, since it is being swapped on an existing account. Either way, I'm out the money. When I tried to register it, the only option was to sign up for their "All Access" subscription, their top of the line package! Sirius reviews are replete with these type of complaints and I'm adding mine. Reps work off a script to discourage cancellations and constantly try to up-sell the customer. Miss a cancellation date and you're locked in for another period. Beware Crutchfield however rocks--this was

I had a factory Radio with Sirius but upgraded to JVC V220 for touch screen and other features but would lose Sirius. I went 2 months without Sirius but decided to look into the hideaway tuner. I didn't want to spend the $40 to install so I did it myself. Right decision, easy install with direct connect and run antenna to roof (hint use velcro to attach tuner under dash). Worked well...Happy with choice and getting the Sirius back online.

Really love this over the factory Sirius unit. Put in a 2004 Chevy Silverado and the factory XM wire DOES FIT THIS UNIT. Love that you can pause this, rewind this, and that the song starts from the beginning when you tune to a channel unlike the factory unit. The channels are almost instant when you tune to a different channel unlike any other unit that I have had over the last 15 years or so. With the $70 rebate and 3 months free, its like Sirius is paying you to take this unit. Hooked up to a Kenwood unit and sounds amazing.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the easiest way to add Sirius/XM radio to compatible head units I have ever seen! Back in the day when they were different companies the size of the receiver was almost as big as the radio it was attached to. I paired this with my Kenwood DNX890-HD in my 04 F150, it was so simple after removing the dash trim I didn't even need to take the radio out. I have seen complaints about sound quality but its as good or better than HD Radio, now I do have a very nice set up but I think it would still sound great either way. It is very clear that Sirius put their best quality components into this unit, the size allows it to be hidden anywhere and easily attached to anything with 2 zip ties, I strapped mine to a wiring bundle. The simple one wire connection (antenna) is just another example of the genius behind the design and function of this unit. So after you connect it to your radio and mount the unit its time to run the only real wiring involved. Sirius has diagrams of recommended antenna locations for different vehicles, all outside lol, I don't like that idea. Now this is just my personal install, please insure yours works best for you, I mounted mine inside the truck on the center of the dash with a clear view through the windshield. It works great, the only time I lose my signal is when under a gas station canopy, it may still lose the signal in locations like that mounted outside as well but its not something I tested. Clear view of the sky is all you really need. A+

Pros: Simple wiring, Easy to hide, Very generous antenna wire length, Sound quality, Crutchfield's basically free deal!

Cons: None personally, antenna mounting could be a pain depending on location but give the dash a try!

Yay!

This is the first time I've had a Sirius tuner that plugged into a head unit. My previous Sirus experiences utilized the external tuners that stuck on the dash. This tuner installed easily with my Kenwood Excelon DD6902. I was worried about slow tuning between channel changes. That is one reason I veered from satellite radio a few years ago. But I didn't run into that at all, quick channel changes/browsing is indeed the case here. I highly recommend this. Easy to install and I was up and listening within 30 minutes.

Works as expected and gets great reception. Too bad SiriusXM isn't as good company as this device. SiriusXM charges $15 to switch your account from your previous radio to a new radio. The only downside to this device is that it does t have s great way to mount it anywhere. Heat resistant Double sided tape will be your friend. The antenn attaches by itself with no problem.

Pros: Great reception

Unit was installed in a Tahoe ski boat with Kenwoods 315 with XM capability. Gives a great option on the lake when local channels are weak. XM product works great. Their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced and that's no exaggeration. I felt like I was given the least amount of information as fast as possible.

Pros: Absolutely simple plug/play install, small unit is easily hidden

Cons: The XM customer service rep I dealt with was extremely pushy, fast talking, with a difficult to understand language, and wouldn't accept a stern NO. He just kept asking the same question in a different form. Again, boat installed, full year subscription required or at least I was told there's no other option. Also told XM doesn't have multi unit discount. XM has emailed me up to three times in one day, everyday, since install to confirm my email. No boat option in vehicle option box.

Easy to install in 4 runner antenna was a bit much though put in stock location above the hatch. Had to take passenger side apart to run the wire took a few hours

Pros: Sounds better than factory unit did

Cons: takes a bit of time to install in factory location

Rearview mirror mount

rckbkk from Knoxville, TN on 5/17/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I drove around for a few days before deciding where to mount the antenna. I tried it in various locations before deciding to mount it to the backside of the rearview mirror and ran the cord along the header and down the pillar. The mirror has power so there was already a small cover for the existing cords. It's the same track I used to run the bluetooth that I mounted above the rearview mirror. The antenna is completely invisible from the inside of the car and I didn't want it on the outside of the car. I mounted it with a small piece of 3M contact sticky tape that you would use to mount a poster. I could move it without any trouble if I decide the reception isn't working, but so far the reception is as good as any of the other locations that I tried.

Pros: Easy install

Cons: Finding a place to mount the antenna is the hardest decision. Try the back of the rearview mirror, worked for me.

Works great with my Kenwood head unit and it's controls! My wife is happy!

Pros: Great addition to compatible head unit, concealable, and easy to install.

Cons: Laying upside down pulling antenna wire through the firewall.. (not really a con, just not fun.)

If you want to add SiriusXM to a new radio, this couldn't be any easie

DVDMike from Norcross, GA on 5/10/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

With my Kenwood unit, the installation could not have been an easier. It was harder to connect the car's antenna to the Kenwood than this. Only installation difficulty is routing the unit's antenna wire out of the dash so it's invisible. My Kenwood unit's sound quality is not good enough for me to accurately judge how good it sounds. But I've had Sirius in a car since 2004 and none have ever sounded "great" with the compression they use. The only issue that I have with this unit, and it may really be an issue with the Kenwood, is that on the display, most modes and channels display "LIVE" on the second line. Its a wasted line where more information could be displayed. You can see all the information you would ever want by scrolling through the Kenwood's display modes, but who wants to do that whilst driving? Again, this might by just the head unit I purchased and not this unit which is to blame.

Pros: Simple install on a New Kenwood Radio.

Cons: Wasted display area using a Kenwood radio.

Had better reception with OEM antenna in my jeep than this but it is what it is and I need it for the new stereo...

Pros: Makes my aftermarket get the satellite radio

Cons: Had better reception before from stock OEM ...

This tuner works great on my Kenwood stereo, Thought about getting it for a while now wished I had gotten it sooner.

Pros: Better then having the onyx or starmate everything is mostly hidden and out of the way. And the it all goes through the display of my Kenwood.

Cons: none.

SiriusXM SXV300V1

Vincent from Eglin AFB, FL on 5/1/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good quality hardware. Item was received in perfect condition, packaging was small and easy to open. Used a sound system shop for installation and the channels come in great. The rebate allowed me to get the tuner for free at the regular price point, and it brought 3 months of radio time for free which will help me figure out what package I want to stick with. It was free, that's the biggest reason I got it and the $10/mo for advertisement free radio with perfect reception is worth it.

Pros: the $70 rebate for the item made it free, and the 3 months of free Sirius to start is a bonus.

Cons: The mail in rebates take too long to arrive (6-8 weeks) but if you have patience its all part of the game in the business world.

Works great

Easy to install with the Kenwood head unit I purchased. Sounds great! Hard to beat with $40 off from Crutchfield plus a $70 rebate from Sirius with a subscription, it makes the unit basically free.

Pros: Sounds great, awesome variety.

Cons: Can't really think of any.

In parts of rural America finding great radio options is challenging. This siriusxm antenna soled this issue. I now have clear great sounding radio even in remote areas. I have already found more favorite stations than I thought I would.

Pros: Great variety and programming options. Clear and consistent signal.

Cons: Installing the antenna is a bit more challenging but materials from crutchfield allowed me to do it in about an hour.

Meh..... it's not too much improved over the Factory text scroll

Expedition Driver from Denver on 4/1/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There's no significant improvement over the Factory system. The antenna mounted on my Expedition would not adapt to this module. So I had to run an additional antenna just for the Sirius / XM (and another for the GPS in the Kenwood Nav) and still have the Ford Hockey Puck above the windshield. The information is generic and I'm finding that line two scrolls EVERYTHING. I'm not sure if this is an XM issue or on the part of the station. This needs to have a function where you can save a favorite XM song and it'll notify you when it's on.

Pros: Would be great if you don't already have XM

Cons: No adapter to OEM XM antenna. Ending up with three antennas on the roof (the Sirius and Kenwood come off in the car wash) and my Ford is no longer used, but at least it doesn't get ripped off. The Ford antenna is used for HD radio though, so I have to keep all three.

The best way to listen to Sirius XM!

Marty from Sumter, SC on 3/31/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was listening to Sirius XM on a "freebie" Stratus radio plugged into the Aux input of my old radio. This system, integrated into the built-in system of my new Kenwood unit, performs functions not available to a simple radio, and I am now able to scan and seek much faster! I am listening to MORE channels now!

Pros: Integrated, out of sight, built-in

Cons: None

the reason i bought a new head unit

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

this is the reason I upgraded my head unit. Sirius/XM never sounded so good in my truck no more lost signals or radio station bleed over found in most external units. Enjoying my satellite radio all over again unit works flawlessly.

Pros: ease of install hooked right up to me new head unit just ran the new antenna wire and was working in no time. unit is small enough fits in dash hole where there was nothing there behind the radio. should have done this long time ago

Cons: have no complaints happy with unit

SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner

Daniel from Madison, WI on 3/29/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Unit itself is easy to install. Antenna is a pain to install and I wish the instructions were more details and clear. No matter how I run the wire I feel like I've done something bootleg to my car. Getting it connected to my existing Sirius account was complicated, probably because the Sirius customer service people didnt realize I didnt want to open a new account.

Pros: Easy way to at Sirius to a Sirius compatible radio.

Cons: Installing the antenna is a pain.

Mike L from Peoria, IL on 3/20/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Functions as described. Easy to install with my Pioneer AVH-X3800BHS. Was nice to get the external XM Onyx off the dashboard of my already cramped Mustang. New antenna is a little better design than the one that came with my XM Onyx several years ago. It is a little larger and seems to receive a little more consistently. It also has tiny rubber feet on the bottom to avoid scratching paint. I do wonder why SiriusXM, which advertises "digital quality" sound, does not provide the same quality sound as a CD or my iPod via USB?

Pros: Functions as described. Easy to install.

Cons: Sound quality not on par with other "digital" sources.

Clifford from wichita, KS on 3/20/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works as expected, does not take up a lot of room but the cable from the tuner to the radio is very short requiring mounting near the radio within about a foot. My dash is pretty full behind the bezels so my only choice was between the ashtray and the airbag control module. My factory Sirius/XM radio is between the seats. Mounting the SVX300 there which would have allowed me to use the factory antenna rather than have even more wiring behind the dash. I like the tuner itself just fine but if you buy one plan on installing it close to the head unit.

Pros: Small form factor, works well.

Cons: Short cable to the radio.
