Get aftermarket source control through your factory radio

If you're stuck with a factory radio, but you're looking to integrate your iPod®, iPhone®, satellite radio tuner, or USB thumb drives, the Audiovox AUNI-200-USB can connect you to all your sources without having to swap out your radio. This handy hard-wired kit even lets you see vital text on your RDS-compatible stereo, so you'll know what's playing without having to look at your iPod or wait for the satellite radio DJ to announce the song title. Audiovox even includes a remote control for quick access to all your favorite songs, playlists, and channels.

Hard-wired module

The Universal RDS USB module connects to the antenna input on the back of your factory radio. Just wire up the Universal RDS USB module for power and ground, then stow it away in your glove compartment or some other spot where it's out of view but provides easy access. You'll need to choose a dedicated FM station to receive music through your stereo. The module offers one dedicated connection for your iPod, iPhone, or USB drive, plus another connection for the optional SiriusXM SXV300 satelllite radio tuner using the Audiovox AACCSATCBL cable (both sold separately)  — you'll need a subscription to receive satellite radio broadcast, and in some cases a firmware update may also be required for SiriusXM compatibility. The iPod/iPhone connection also offers charging for your device when the vehicle's running.

Special circuitry keeps any radio signals from interfering with digital music from your iPod or USB drive, so no noise will get in the way of your musical enjoyment. You'll hear static-free audio no matter what digital source you're using, and you won't have to worry about radio signals fading in and out over your music.

An additional USB port allows for firmware updates, but does not enable an additional musical source.

RDS text information

If your radio supports RDS (Radio Data System) text display, you'll see relevant song and artist information on your radio's screen, whether your'e playing from your iPod, iPhone, or USB drive. You can also see the folder from your thumb drive or playlist from your iPod. Factory radios vary by vehicle, and some radios feature a "text" button for additional information.

Enjoy your iPhone's music apps

If you're big into Pandora® Internet radio or other music apps, you can enjoy them through the Universal RDS USB kit. Simply fire up Pandora on your device, connect it to the module, and enjoy the audio and text info (if supported by your radio). Other Internet radio apps, such as Livio, also work great through the Universal RDS USB module, allowing you to see relevant details on your radio's display, and with a limited amount of control over the app through the remote, depending on the app.

Convenient remote control

Audiovox's remote control lets you switch between sources with the push of a button, so you can enjoy a satellite radio broadcast of a sporting event, then switch to music on your iPod or thumb drive during a break in the action. You'll be able to call up station presets, change albums or folders, skip playlists, and shuffle songs without touching your phone or radio.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fairly easy to install, luckily I own a repair manual so could look up the wire color code for 12v, switchable 12v, and ground (Crutchfield should supply). Audiovox design should have the antenna wiring and power supply wiring on the same end with interface connections on the other, this would help with installation. Currently, unit has to be installed so that one has access to both ends. And why in the world would Audiovox locate the fuse on the end where you tap into the vehicle's wiring?! If the fuse blows you have to remove the factory radio. Why not integrate it into the unit itself or, at least, on the wire coming out of the unit where it's easily accessible? That said, took me a little over an hour to install (but then I want it to look professionally installed). With the 2002 Discovery, easier to install sitting on dash rather than glove box. Sounds great, IMO, better than FM reception and almost as good as DVD. RDS works well on factory radio displays artist and song. Remote is handy and, with raised buttons, easy to manipulate without having to take your eyes off the road. Happy with unit's sound and features and, with modifications mentioned early, could be an outstanding upgrade. Would recommend it for anybody wanting to upgrade factory radio to Ipod/Iphone, USB/MP3, 3.5mm aux port, or Sirius radio.

Pros: Universal fit, easy to upgrade factory radio, multiple input types, quality sound, remote features are sensible

Cons: Wiring could be located to be more user friendly, re-locate fuse!

I searched our information and even looked on Audiovox's site to see if they had firmware updates that listed iPhone 6S compatibility, but I didn't find anything stating that phone will work with this kit.[ Paul  Nov 16, 2015 ]  Staff
The unit does not have a hard on/off switch. The power is provided via the radio harness in my installation. When the radio is on, the unit is powered, when the radio is off, the unit is off.[ Harry N.  Oct 06, 2015 ]
Hi Dusko.Unfortunately we don't have any information on vehicles designed for sale outside the US. There are often differences between those and the US models. In addition, we don't have any info on installers or vendors in your area. I'd recommend doing a web search to see if there may be a local audio shop you could check with. We wish the best of luck with your upgrades.[ Jeff  Apr 07, 2014 ]  Staff
