Solid Box, Sounds Good, Poor Worksmanship
2012 Ram 3500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I purchased this recently for my 2012 Ram 3500. The box came more quickly than I had anticipated, though I was never got a tracking number. I spoke with the sales adviser here at Crutchfield about my Subs (2 - Alpine SWR-T10) and they stated it wasn't the best fit; as such, I was expecting to have to make some modifications to the box. When I got the box, the holes were offset in the wrong direction and no way I could fit the speakers, I ended up having to re-cut them completely. Took me about an hour to get everything lined up and then used some industrial weatherstripping to seal the subs to the box. (They had included some thin stuff, didn't cut it.) I lined the holes up using their hardware but went ahead and modified the box and glued some nuts on the inside so I could just run some machine bolts down. Makes it easier to take the subs in and out, if needed. The mounting hardware they sent expected me to just drill through the floor in the cab of my truck, kind of a joke I believe. I was able to get a proper L bracket and pull my rear seat bolts and mount right under them, utilizing some locktite as to not shake the seats loose. All in all, was more work than it was worth probably, but after cutting the hole out no way I could return it. It does look nice and clean and sounds amazing, so I will give them that. Also I believe this is a heavy plastic and not the fiberglass that is advertised, though it might just be a plastic over-mold, not sure.
Pros: Sounds Great, Solid Box, Clean and Professional Looking
Cons: Terrible Mounting Options, Poor Worksmanship, Overpriced.
