I installed these in the rear of my 2000 cherokee jeep, and after i had turned my car back on it sounded almost as if i had never changed the speakers at all. Only buy these if a speaker is blown and you need to replace it.

Pros: looks nice sounds normal cheap price

Cons: doesn't sound better than stock speakers

Good quality for the money..

Upgraded my door speakers from the stock Bose and these sound a lot better. Better bass, better treble and overall sound quality. Easy install as usual, Crutchfield hooks you up with all the needed goodies.

Pros: Good bass, treble and sound quality. Comes with everything you need. EXCELLENT for the price.

Cons: None.

great sound. Definitely gives off the surround feeling with the speakers right behind your head. Everything comes in crisp and you can hear other instruments and better vocals that I was not able to pick up on the stock speakers

Pros: sound quality, price

Cons: constantly adjusting the levels depending on the genre but still no complaints

If you are someone looking for a monster upgrade from factory speakers, then these are for you. Crystal clear sound, thumping bass, and a cake walk installation. I couldn't be happier with these bad boys. Crutchfield did a spot on recommendation, and I would send anyone their way. I saw quite a few reviews saying that these speakers didnt have very good bass. If you arent looking to have your eardrums blown out, then these are just fine. Very good buy. Thank you

Pros: Great sound, Nice bass, Easy installation

Cons: None Yet

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

i didn't expect much out of these speakers and they did not exceed my expectations. Based on the reviews I was anticipating mind blowing clarity and volume not to mention bass. What i received was a basic speaker that satisfies basic needs. my car said this speaker would fit with minor modifications. I was unwilling to cut the rear deck of my car because I want it to remain as stock as possible so I made some temporary spacers with wood. The pioneer speakers that were 4" that I purchased for the front sound a bit better. I should have went with the 4" kickers. No way to tell until you hear so I will deal with it.

Pros: price

Cons: fit

Good Quality but Sound Doesn't Compare

ADO from Powell, WY on 9/16/2013

1995 Toyota Camry
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers seemed like a good value but the sound quality is not as good as it should be for such big speakers at higher volumes. I was comparing it to similar (new) speakers I purchased at the same price, installed on the same receiver. however, for everyday use it seems like a good enduring product.

Pros: Heavy speakers and good heavy packaging. Good quality of sound at normal volumes.

Cons: Speakers take up a large space. The quality of the sound was not as good as comparable speakers I used.

Great Speakers

Great sounding speakers, can handle quite a bit of power and not distort. Have them in front of a four channel amp and I drive them hard. Very happy with the purchase

Pros: Clean sounding, easy install

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed(easy with provided adapter) the TDX52 in the doors of my '03 GMC. Great service, timely shipping from Crutchfield. Very pleased with my purchase---speakers have some base for a 5 1/4 ! Dynamat also helped to insulate and control vibration!

Pros: Good bass sound

Cons: None

RonF from Hilton, NY on 8/18/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Much better sound than the stock Kia speakers. Stock speakers were the lightest, smallest magnet speakers I have ever seen. Big improvement. I'm not sure the stock radio has enough output to really test them.

Pros: Much better sound than stock speakers.

Cons: Installation was a little more involved since the old speakers were riveted in.

Nice upgrade

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Changed out the factory speakers in our Honda Odyssey with these MTX TDX52 in front and the TN502 in the rear. Made a huge difference. Much better mids and highs. Wife is happy.

Pros: Great Value. Sound good.

Cons: I could use more bass response but I am being highly critical. The bass response if the only thing stopping a 5 star rating.

Great Value

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are excellent value, easy to install with the provided brackets by Crutchfield team, simply plug and play, even in my old 1995 Corolla.

Pros: Nice value, sounds sharp.

Cons: Can not handle bass, but works great otherwise, you should have a sub woofer installed for the bass.

Sounds great

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I definitely recommend this product! So worth the money! It's a great upgrade for your factory speakers! Nothin huge like getting intense subwoofers or something, but better overall sound and bass! I totally recommend getting the dynamat for at least your front doors as well! Makes a ton of difference! If you're just looking for a basic kind of upgrade, these are the best for the price!

Product Research

Woofer Cones: The MTX TDX series speakers feature durable and rigid polypropylene woofer cones. Polypropylene is also resistant to the moisture and temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Tweeters: Each speaker features a 1" silk dome tweeter. Silk is lightweight and great for high frequency extension and efficiency. The tweeters pivot slightly within their housings (approximately 20° in any direction), so they can be angled toward the listeners to improve imaging.

Warranty: Although the speaker reviewed and measured (taken from our first shipment) included information indicating a 1 year warranty, MTX recently changed to a 5-Year Prorated Warranty with the following terms:

  • Years 1-2: Products found to be defective in materials or workmanship during the first two years will be, at Mitek's option, repaired or replaced by Mitek at no charge. The warranty period does not renew, but continues on from the original date of purchase.
  • Years 3-5: The purchase price of an item which becomes defective after the first two years and prior to the end of the warranty period will be prorated and credited toward the purchase of a new MTX product. The amount of proration is determined by dividing the original purchase price by the number of months in the warranty period (60), then multiplying the result by the number of months remaining in the warranty period.
