Bought a 2016 Ram 1500 last year with the top 0f the line Alpine system. I had already suffered through the sound of this same 10 speaker system in a 2013 Durango. Realizing that most of the "horribleness" emanated from the dash speakers, and knowing I couldn't possibly suffer through this sound for another 1-3 years, I started looking for dash corner replacements, I was reluctant to "tear up" my dash but Crutchfield's written directions quickly gave me confidence. I still did not have enough confidence to disconnect and replace the center dash speaker (much less clearance to work in), but I popped the grille on it and inserted 2-layers of felt over that speaker because its high efficiency and poor sound let it overpower the corner speakers. The MTX Thunders GREATLY improved the sound especially in the midrange and treble parts of the sound spectrum. One big surprise is that, despite their small size, they also CLARIFIED THE BASS, which other reviewers have not mentioned. Their lower efficiency, hence lower volume, was easily compensated for by using the balance/level controls.
Pros: Great sound improvement over factory dash speakers.
Installation was quite easier than I anticipated (thanks Crutchfield) and these are an exact fit.
Cons: Price (but I don't know if the cheaper speakers would have equivalent sound).
Only available in pairs so even if I had the confidence to replace the dash single center speaker, I would have had to buy a pair.
