It looks odd, but boy does it sound great

The Pro-Ject VTE is ideal for a room where countertop space is at a premium. And it's a conversation piece par excellence. This turntable stands vertically, and can even be wall-mounted — it's creative engineering coupled with the rock-solid quality we've come to expect from this company.

We'll get into how it works in a second, but let me assure you that this turntable — like all Pro-Ject turntables — will bring out the warm, relaxed sound you expect from your prized record collection.

But seriously, how does it work?

We're used to letting gravity keep a phonograph needle in the grooves of a record, but this turntable literally turns that notion on its side. The aluminum tonearm on the VTE uses a clever spring mechanism that's pre-calibrated to track precisely. You won't have to spend any time stringing anti-skating weights or adjusting tracking force — just put on your favorite album and let the music flow. And don't worry — Pro-Ject included a record clamp so your classic vinyl doesn't fall off and roll across the living room floor.

Customer Q&A

Q
It looks like the record clamp covers the album artwork. Does this bother anyone that owns it? Is there a way to work around this? I've seen other vertical turntables (gramovox) that have very small record clamps which makes sense because you want to see the record.
