Overview

Our take on the Olympus M. Zuiko ED 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO

Squeezing an entire scene into one frame can be a frustrating endeavor, and is often downright impossible with the wrong lens. With a 114-degree angle of view at the widest end of its zoom range, the Olympus M. Zuiko 7-14mm f/2.8 Pro lens is up for the challenge of capturing every last detail in one shot. It's ideal for landscapes, street scenes, group photos, and interior or exterior architectural shots, and its short minimum focus distance means you can also use it for captivating close-ups and portraits.

Think big

Squeezing an entire scene into one frame can be a frustrating endeavor, and is often downright impossible with the wrong lens. With a 114-degree angle of view at the widest end of its zoom range, the Olympus M. Zuiko 7-14mm f/2.8 Pro lens is up for the challenge of capturing every last detail in one shot. It's ideal for landscapes, street scenes, group photos, and interior or exterior architectural shots, and its short minimum focus distance means you can also use it for captivating close-ups and portraits.

A constant f/2.8 maximum aperture throughout the zoom range lets you get closer to the action without having to adjust any settings. With such a wide aperture, you can capture any kind of scene, indoors or out, day or night. High-quality optics in combination with the large depth of field characteristic of ultra-wide lenses will give you clear focus from front to back, for breathtakingly detailed images. Thanks to its rugged splash-, dust-, and freeze-proof design, you can take this lens anywhere and not have to worry about the weather taking a turn while you're shooting.

This pro lens is made from metal and is solid. It is a very sharp and there is very little distortion. I have always wanted a 14-28 mm (35mm equivalent) lens especially for indoor shooting with a 2.8 f-stop. I recommend this lens without hesistation.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Searching for imagery with these lenses starts off slow composition-wise and sneaks up with a bang right up to your eyeballs. This is ONE incredible piece of glass. Finding compositions with this is astounding once you find your groove and mood. I highly recommend experimenting with these lenses as it has a very wide field of view considering it has a very bulbous curvature on the front lense element. Depending on where the subject is in front of the lenses you can change the mood easily by shifting the lenses up slightly to create a whole different mood. It's not an inexpensive purchase however it is an investment well worth my time.

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

Excellent lens. Sharp, fast focus, and a professional build. I use it all the time, even wide open and get wonderful results. [ Fran  Jun 19, 2017 ]
This is another quality lens from Olympus. Dust, splash and freeze proof, it's ready for anything. The low end of this wide-angle lens dips into fish-eye territory!. For some shots, this is the only lens that can capture the view. The longer I own this lens, the more reasons I find to use it. Be aware, despite the built-in hood, lens flare can be a problem, so always check your shots before moving on. [ Robert  Sep 30, 2016 ]
I own 2 of the M.Zuiko PRO Lenses and they are outstanding in all respects. I expect nothing less from this 7-14 PRO lense, can't wait to get it. [ JackC  Aug 18, 2016 ]
