Item # 30537E5000 | MFR # UN37EH5000
This item is no longer available.
There aren't many 37" models to choose from, so it's nice that you have a high-quality option in Samsung's UN37EH5000. The EH5000 series is one of the sweet spots in Samsung's 2012 lineup. It offers outstanding picture quality while leaving out features like 3D and Internet connectivity. It has an LED backlight that combines a bright, crisp picture with stingy power usage. It's a looker, too, with an elegantly thin black bezel framing the screen.
This TV has two HDMI inputs for connecting high-definition gear, like a Blu-ray player, and an HD cable or satellite TV box. If you have movies or photos stored on a thumb drive you can plug it into the TV's USB port for quick, easy viewing.
Tip: For a list of over-the-air digital TV stations you can receive, as well as antenna recommendations for your location, enter your zip code in AntennaWeb's mapping tool.

Nice TV easy set up, wish it had more a/v outputs
Pros: great size,price and picture
Cons: not enough a/v outputs
Purchased for a friend's bedroom. Nice size for room, debated whether to get a 40" with Crutchfield Advisor, happy with the recommended 37". Not quite up to my Sony KDL-EX720 TV, but at a much lower price point. She has had the TV for 6 months with no problems. Connected to a Sony BDP-S590 via AudioQuest Pearl HDMI. Picture is great and sound is OK. Also connected Terk FDTV2A indoor omni amplified antenna (suburb of Chicago) via RG6 coax. TV found 39 over air channels, again picture is great and sound is OK. Only negative would be that both HDMI ports are on the side of the unit, I wish one was in the back. Because of the experience with this TV, I purchased the 32" for my daughter. As usual, fine service from Crutchfield!
Pros: Great picture via HDMI and Coax
Cons: Wish at least one of the HDMI ports was on the rear panel. Typical TV sound.
I purchased a 55" Samsung for my living room 6 months ago and decided that I needed to add this unit to my bedroom. It's exceptionally crisp with a terrific 1080p picture. It's viewable from anywhere in the room which is extremely helpful.
Pros: Great picture. Good value as a scratch and dent item. Easy setup. Dealing with a Crutchfield salesperson.
Cons: None yet.
Bought this TV because needed to fit it into a small space. This is an unusual size I was glad to find. It fit into the same space I previously had a 6 year old 32 in HDTV. Great picture and the price is right. Received it in 2 days from Crutchfield.
Pros: Picture, Size
Samsung has delivered an excellent product in this television. Picture quality of this TV is fantastic. It has excellent color and contrast. We are very pleased with this TV so far. It took us a little while to get used to watching TV in hi-def, but now we really enjoy it.
Pros: Picture quality Price Contrast Easy set-up
Cons: None so far
I'm rating this highly because it did just what I wanted. This TV was for the great room at our beach house. This is a very sunny room and our old LCD TV was washed out by all the light. This LED works great in this situation. Also, I wanted a larger TV but the cabinet would not fit an LCD larger than 32". Since this LED TV has a much smaller border around the screen, I was able to fit a 37" into a space that previously would only fit a 32" LCD.
Pros: Bright screen for a sunny room 3HDMIs where most TVs at this price only have two
Cons: The audio output doesn't use standard A/V -- uses a small plug instead, so I must use an adapter to my A/V cables
I wanted to upgrade my 32" Sony to a 37" but I was very limited in space since it was going into a built in cabinet in my home. I did lots of research and found this to be the best option in a quality brand unit. I purchased an Integra Blu-Ray player in order to make room for the TV since my old player was too tall to allow the TV to fit. Trust me I wanted this thing to work. After receiving the TV and making the necessary modifications to my cabinet I finally had my new Samsung 37" installed. I was sure to follow all the necessary setup procedures and did my auto channel programming. When the programming was complete I had 3 channels to choose from two of which were not in English! What the??? I had 27 channels with the Sony! This Samsung model also sounds terrible! I know that flat panel TV sets have a tough time sounding good but this was ridiculous! I called tech support for both Samsung and Crutchfield and verified that there was nothing more I could do. I then took matters into my own hands and purchased a signal amplifier/splitter. That also did not help whatsoever. I called Crutchfield and they were very helpful in sending me a shipping label. I started to do more research and found a model made by Panasonic that would fit and quickly purchases it. What a difference it made! The quality was much better it sounded great and best of all I now had my channels back! The Panasonic also has built in internet capability forHulu, and Amazon Prime etc.
Pros: Crutchfield took it back for me.
Cons: Poor TV recprion, poor audio. It just stinks!
From the time I made the phone call to order until I received my tv and bracket it ws an excellent experience' everybody was so helpful with the profucts I purchased!

Direct-Lit LED Technology: Direct-Lit LED backlight technology bridges the gap between lower-cost CCFL (fluorescent) LCD TVs and newer edge-lit LED-LCD TVs. Samsung's Direct-Lit LED-LCD televisions feature LEDs positioned all the way across the LCD panel's back plane (instead of along the side). Unlike "Full-Array" backlight LED-LCD televisions that also feature LEDs positioned along the LCD panel's back plane, the Direct-Lit LED technology uses fewer LEDs and do not offer local dimming. Since there are fewer LEDs, the LCD panel's back plane must be moved farther away from the screen to provide adequate light coverage across the LCD panel, making the TV much deeper than an edge-lit LED-LCD television. Direct-Lit LED backlight technology offers a better picture and is more energy efficient than previous CCFL (fluorescent) LCD televisions, though it requires a much larger cabinet design than newer edge-lit LED-LCD TVs.
Clear Motion Rate 120: Clear Motion Rate (CMR) is Samsung's more comprehensive and accurate measure for how well the LED-LCD TV can display fast-moving images. Previously, motion clarity was expressed simply by the refresh rate, measured in Hz. CMR, however, takes into account all three factors that contribute to motion clarity: panel refresh rate (60Hz), image processor speed and backlight technology. CMR is measured by determining the thinnest line a TV can display in a moving image. The thinner the line, the higher the CMR rating, and the clearer the picture you'll enjoy on the screen.
LED Motion Plus: This function removes drag from fast scenes with a lot of movement to provide a clear picture.
Motion Lighting: The TV automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen in response to the brightness of the room. In bright light, the screen brightens. In dim light, the screen dims.
Wide Color Enhancer Plus: Wide Color Enhancer Plus allows you to see picture color the way the director originally intended. Witness the entire RGB spectrum brought to life on your screen to bring you exceptionally vibrant, yet natural-looking images faithful to the director's original intent.
3,500,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio: The LED-LCD TV delivers a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 3,500,000:1; which provides stunning colors and deep black, so your picture's details don't get lost in the shadows.
HDTV Tuner: The TV has built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Digital Cable (QAM) tuners, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals.
1080p Resolution: The LED-LCD television displays all inputs at a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080). The television's HDMI and component video inputs will accept 1080p (24/60Hz), 1080i, 720p, 480p and 480i video signals.
Screen Sizes: You can choose one of the following screen sizes.
Note: Screen Size settings can be stored for each external device you have connected to an input of the TV.
Picture Control: You can make the following adjustments for an optimum picture.
Note: You can adjust and store Picture Settings for each external device connected to the TV.
HDMI Black Level: You can select the black level on the screen to adjust the screen depth when you have a component connected via HDMI to the television. You can select either Normal or Low.
Noise Filtration: The Samsung TV provides digital noise and MPEG noise filtration.
Film Mode: The TV can be set to automatically sense and process film signals from all sources and adjust the picture from optimum quality. Film mode is supported in TV, AV, Component (480i/1080i), and HDMI (480i/1080i).
Game Mode: When connecting the television to a game console, you can enjoy a more realistic gaming experience when selecting Game Mode.
SRS TruSurround HD: SRS TruSurround HD is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through any two-speaker playback system, including the internal television speakers. It is fully compatible with all multichannel formats.
Sound Modes: You can choose from the following Preset Sound Modes:
Equalizer: You can manually adjusts the TV's built-in 5-band EQ (100 Hz, 300 Hz, 1 kHz, 3 kHz, and 10 kHz) for a more customized sound.
Auto Volume: Auto Volume automatically adjusts the volume of the desired channel, lowering the sound output when the modulation signal is high or raising the sound output when the modulation signal is low. This reduces the difference in volume when changing channels. The Auto Volume feature can be set to Normal, Night or Off.
Audio Delay: The Audio Delay function corrects audio/video mismatch, when watching TV or video, and listening to a digital audio output using an external device such as an AV receiver. You can adjust the audio delay from 0ms to 250 ms.
Audio Outputs: The Samsung LED-LCD television provides an analog and digital audio output.
ConnectShare: ConnectShare enables you to view photo and movie files, as well as listen to audio files saved on a USB Mass Storage Class device (MTP: Media Transfer Protocol is not supported) using the television's USB (type-A) port. Files must be formatted in FAT16/32 or NTFS. The TV can recognize up to 1,000 files in each folder.
Firmware/Software Updates: Firmware/software upgrades can be performed by downloading the latest firmware/software updates from Samsung's Support Site to a USB thumbdrive.
5-Way Joy Stick: The television is equipped with a 5-way "joy stick" like button on the bottom right side of the TV that lets you control the TV without the remote control.
Input Source Names: You can assign a pre-programmed name to each of the inputs. When input naming is completed, you will no longer have to remember which component is connected to each input when selecting a source to watch. Source names include VCR, DVD, Cable STB, Satellite STB, PVR STB, AV Receiver, Game, Camcorder, PC, TV, DVI PC, DVI Device, IPTV, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, and Digital Media Adapter.
Close Captions (CC): The Samsung LED-LCD TV provides Analog Closed Captions and Digital Closed Captions. The Digital CC offers customizable text, font, and size.
Note: The Closed Captions feature does work in Component, HDMI, or PC modes.
Program Rating Lock: The Program Rating Lock feature automatically locks out programs that are deemed inappropriate for children. You can block TV program based on their ratings and Movies based on their MPAA rating, so you have more control over what your children watch. The Program Rating Lock function is protected by a 4-digit PIN.
ENERGY STAR Compliant with ECO Settings: The Samsung LED-LCD TV is ENERGY STAR compliant and provides ECO settings to reduce the TV's power consumption and cut-down on energy costs.
On/Off Timer: The three On/Off timers allow you to program the television to turn itself on and off by selecting a specific on time and a specific off time. An On/off timer can be set to repeat only once, everyday, Mon-Fri, Mon-Sat, or Sat-Sun. You can also choose the On Timer's content (TV, USB, or Antenna) and volume. The on and off timers work independently of one another.
Sleep Timer: The sleep timer switches the television off after a specified amount of time. The sleep timer can be set to 30, 60, 90, 120, 150, or 180 minutes.
Auto Protection Time: If the screen remains idle with a still image for a certain period of time (2, 4, 8, 10 hours) defined by the user, the TV's built-in screen saver is activated to prevent the formation of host images on the screen.
Wireless Remote: The supplied remote control is designed to only operate the Samsung LED-LCD television only. You can use the remote control up to a distance of about 23' from TV with a direct line of sight. The remote's buttons are backlit and will light up with a press of a button.
Note: This remote control has Braille points on the Power, Channel, and Volume buttons for the visually impaired.
Pedestal Stand: The TV is shipped with the pedestal stand unattached. The pedestal stand attaches to the television using the supplied hardware. The television weighs 22.2 lbs with the stand.
Wall Mounting: The TV has four threaded inserts on the back for use with an optional wall-mount bracket. The spacing of the mounting holes is VESA 200 (200mm horizontal x 200mm vertical) in accordance with the industry standards set by the Video Electronics Standards Association. The threaded inserts require M6 (6mm) machine screws (not supplied). The television weighs 17.6 lbs without the stand.
Note: When mounting the TV on the stand or a wall (with optional bracket) leave 4" of clearance on each side of the television and 4" above/below the television for adequate ventilation.
Detachable AC Power Cord: The Samsung LED-LCD TV comes with a 5' detachable AC power cord. The power cord sits 0.625" from the back of the television. The power cord is fitted with a right-angle AC plug that sits 0.75" from the wall.
