What can you do with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2? Just about anything — surf the web, shoot and upload videos and photos, chat with friends, watch movies, play music, post social media updates and more.
This compact tablet features a sensitive touchscreen that's intuitive and easy to use, so you can have fun right from the start. The display shines with rich, vivid colors and the layout can be customized to suit your tastes.
There are thousands of apps available through the Google Play Store that can make the Galaxy Tab 2 do more of what you want it to. For example, if you like eBooks, you can download the Amazon Kindle app and Google Reader app for access to millions of titles.
The tablet comes pre-loaded with the Samsung Media Hub. This interface lets you instantly access thousands of movies and TV shows — even some exclusive content. Rent or buy your favorite shows and movies with the tap of a finger.
The Samsung Social Hub pulls together your email, IM, contacts, calendar and social media connections into a single interface. In one screen you'll see live updates to Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, as well as new texts and emails.
Want to organize the screen differently? You can easily customize it to suit your needs.
The Galaxy Tab 2 has built-in Wi-Fi, so you can use your home wireless network or public hotspots to access the Internet. The tablet is a Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) certified device. That means it can stream videos, photos, and music to and from compatible devices, such as many TVs, Blu-ray players, and PCs.
And the Tab 2 has built-in Bluetooth. So you can use it with Bluetooth wireless headsets and headphones, portable speakers and other compatible devices.
In the rear panel of the tablet is a 3 megapixel camera with built-in flash. Take snapshots or shoot high-definition 720p video. A front-panel VGA camera lets you use the tablet for video chat. A built-in microphone picks up the sound for your videos and online conversations.
The tablet comes with 8 gigabytes of built-in memory. But if you need more room to store your photos, videos, or music, no problem. A microSD card slot on the side lets you slip in extra cards (available separately) to expand your available storage.
The microSD card slot lets you quickly add additional room for music, video, and photos.
The Galaxy Tab 2 uses a 1.0GHz dual-core processor to ensure that web pages load quickly, and to minimize delays in downloading movies or music. Android's latest "Ice Cream Sandwich" operating system seriously improves performance and smoothness of operation over older versions of the OS.

Average Customer Review(s):
Nice little tablet, easy to use and the screen looks great.
Cons: Battery doesnt last long if its in constant use.
Perfect Tablet for the price!!!
Pros: The price and clarity of the screen and video!! The sound is clear and the keyboard is great
Cons: Sometimes slows down and the camera!!! But for the price, not bad..
Samsung galaxy is just what my GD needed so she can leave my iPad alone. She has already master all controls and now is having fun in the educational apps she loves playing subway surf and taking pictures and listening to her kids music with her ear plug and she also watches her Disney movies on the go. The samsung galaxy was a great choice I bought her a nice silicone penguin case that looks really nice and corners are well protected from accidental drops. She had it about two and a half weeks.
Pros: Battery life is excellent and it's much faster than all other the inotab for kids which is very slow to respond and it can lose your attention.
Cons: I have found nothing to complain about since I bought it for a 2 year old who loves it.
Great product. I love this tablet.
Love the size, the price, excellent tablet for all everyday duties. Fast, accurate on all apps. Great buy for the price.
Pros: Handy, lightweight, fast, all capacity, well an Android!!!
The Samsung Tab 2 is great, but we wish we had been warned that the Tab 3 was going to be launched 2 days after we purchase the Tab 2. Probably;y should have had a better price on the 2.0, or been given the option of paying more for the 3.0. My fault, not Crutchfields, who we think are great, far better than Amazon for e-stuff.
Good product but for the price but is not an Ipad mini, I bought this for my kid, he loves them, but in my opinion if you want a great tablet buy an Ipad (mini or regular), Android sucks. The only good is the price.
Pros: great price, additional features that Ipad mini does not offer
Cons: slow, the touch system is not as sensitive as Apple products
This is a fine tablet that can hold its own when browsing the web, watching movies, or playing games.
Pros: Chrome browser is fast, can control my Samsung TV with this tablet, micro SD slot up to 32gb, affordable.
Cons: Screen can be too small for some.
Excellent value for the money. Having been an iPod Touch/IPhone user, I was concerned about the learning curve for an Android device -- it proved to be no problem as very intuitive. This device does it all! All of the key apps that I use like LinkedIn, Facebook, Netflix, Slacker Radio etc are all available as well as easy set up for email. The screen is the right size for holding in one hand and touching commands with the other. Great for reading or watching a movie on the go!
Pros: Highly functional, easy to hold and use. Great overall value.
Cons: Slightly slow to respond to the touch commands but a great value overall.
As soon as I opened the box I couldn't wait for the tablet to get charged! It has many great apps through Google Play. I love the many homescreens it has and the great looking screen colors. It was an excellent buy!
We received a free Samsung Tab 2 7.0 with a Samsung big screen tv. We were so enamored with it (features, size), we bought another one so we wouldn't have to share!
Pros: Features, size, price
great tablet very fast good picture.
Pros: Small enough for wife to carry in big purse great display
Cons: none for now.
Bought this for a Car Install. Very nice and easy to use features. Responsive interface an d excellent overall product. Price was excellent for the features available. Couple of things I would have liked though, larger internal storage and a matte screen. Reflective glare in direct sunlight can be tough at times, but then again, I'm using this in a car, so for other applications this wouldn't be an issue.
Pros: Price - Features - User Friendly
Cons: Glare in direct sunlight, Minor issue connecting via bluetooth on a Motorala Razr
It's not an IPad......that's for sure.
Cons: Slow to react to finger motions, slow internet, confusing directions, size is either too small or too big....doesn't lend itself to one hand holding....
I love it, but since I'm not an actual geek, I would have like to have had a printed manual with it,, although I do realize there''s one available online.
Pros: Ease of use.
Cons: No written manual
Bought samsung tab2 7" screen 8GB from Crutcfield for nieces and nephews. It is awsome. They transferred all the photos from their phones and downloaded their music. I stood over them and watched as the move at dizzying speeeds from screen to screen with flawless transition. They watched funny stuff from Utube, and one of them was watching live TV on his tab 2 by downloading an App. This Tab2 is ridiculously cool. Minor self inflicted problem. One of the kids did not give it a full charge before before first use. He completely drained the partial charge on the battery that was on the Tab 2 from the factory, and somehow lost the operating system. Gave it a full charge for about 6 hours(too long)and downloaded the operating system from the internet. Viola! ! . We were back in business. Hey, the folks at Crutchfield were excellent. A lady lady (Zoe, I think) took my order. Where other websites and stores were frustrating me with their one per customer policy, I explained to Zoe that I have a lot of nieces and nephews, that I am not a reseller. She did a quick approval with the manager, my order was placed. I got them for an outrageuosly low $179.99 each. Holly molly. She explained that I ordered too late and that it will be delivered the day after christmas. No problem I said, money is tight, the kids would understand. I wanted the free shipping. I followed the UPS tracking # that Zoe emeiled to me. UPS delivered all the Tab 2s the day before Christmas. God is great. Denny
Pros: Too many to mention. Awsome product. sharp picture screen. good carema for the money.
Cons: First charge of battery takes too long, if you are stupid like us and did not read the insructions, and drained the baterry completely.
I thought this would be a great substitute for a smartphone for browsing the internet and using android apps. I found that many android apps available at Google Play Store were not compatible with this tablet. All were compatible with my phones. The wifi reception in my home was very bad. I have two smart phones and a laptop that receive excellent reception, even outside my home. There were areas of the interior of my house where I lost reception. The TV remote application does not work very well. I'll stick with my cable provider's remote. I don't like the process for changing the battery. It is not user replaceable. Samsung advised me when the battery needs replacement it must be sent at my expense to their service center, nearest to me was Texas and they would send it back two day air. It would probably amount to a week without the tablet.
Pros: Very fast browing; Excellent display; Well built unit; Very easy to setup and use.
Cons: Poor wifi reception; Many incompatible android applications; TV remote application is very poor; Battery not user replaceable.
Just bought 3 of these this Christmas. One for myself and 1 each for 2 daughters age 14 and 25. We have been using them very much for remote contols for TV, music servers, Denon 4311, and many other items. The girls really have used theirs quite a bit for facebook and other social media, I just synced my accounts and they all loaded right up. We find the wi-fi more than ample. The few times we did not have wi-fi we simply tetherd it to our android phones. No fuss, great look, and a bit less fragile than my wifes iPad Mini that was at over twice the price. You can brag about the iPad resolution, but that means very little on a touch screen after a few minutes. Just incase you are out there comparing, just keep this in mind, I is for iDiot (my wife did not buy hers, it was a gift) and those that prefer a status symbol over function and value
Pros: Great value, great samsung reliability. Long battery life, USB conectivity for charging, can easily add another 32 gig for around $15 with a mini SD card, try that with your iPad. And as always, it's so easy shopping at Crutchfield
Cons: Haven't found one yet but will gladly let you know down the road if I do.
I was very impressed that once the item was available it was automatically sent to me. I did not like that my item was left on my door step and did not require a signutare . the amount of money i spent on it, it should have left at the ups office for me to pick up.
Cons: left on doorstep of a apartment building and did not require a sigurtare
I highly recommend this tablet, the only problem is I'm not getting a lot of sleep right now having fun with it..LOL..
Pros: GREAT UNIT, & GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH CRUTCHFIELD, I LOVE SAMSUNG, I have a 32" & 55" LCD FLAT PANEL---SWEET---Price was great as well---
Cons: NONE SO FAR, could use USB connector
Very compact product. Works like a charm , downloaded all apps from the android store. Also works as a TV remote and has the ability to project pictures/videos directly on to my TV using DLNA. Awesome. Great battery life also
Pros: DLNA, You tube projection, TV remote, all android
Cons: No data
Have had for a short time but love so far. Did have a problem where everything just froze and had to wait over 15 minutes before I could evevn turn it off. Sometimes my internet connection isn't strong which is very strong with my laptop. I love the portable size, bought a nice cover case. Love the apps and the free downloads. Wish it more space without having to buy extra card.
Pros: Fun, portable size
Cons: can't get java or certain browsers to work..
Portable and versitle with many helpful features. Some app don't function correctly but that's not the tablet's fault...
Pros: lightweight and easy to use
Cons: 7"inch screen size
This tab is the second from Samsung that we own as a family and it is amazing. My son took ownership and has not put it down.
Pros: Great resolution, great apps, and fun to use as well as easy to learn and personalize.
Cons: needs USB to be able to connect and download movies etc...
There were many who said this would be a bad purchase with the Google Nexus 7 being released. The Nexus 7 is a nice tablet and trumps the Tab in screen resolution and processor power. But neither the Nexus 7 nor Amazon's Fire appeals to me, and many others, because they lack a micro-SD storage slot and support for USB host mode (also called USB On The Go). The lack of a storage slot alone is a deal killer for me. And since I use the tablet to control my Canon T1i using a very cool Android app called DSLR Controller, the USB OTG function is important also. Though no match for the Nexus 7 in resolution, the Tab's screen is very nice and the dual core processor is very peppy. HD videos play beautifully with MX Player. I also installed GPS Test from the Google Play Store and the Tab picked up more than a dozen satellites inside my home under a metal roof and got a position fix in seconds. So it should be a fine GPS navigation device with the appropriate software. I could go on about how well it runs other apps I've installed, but the point of this review is mostly to disabuse potential buyers of the notion that this tablet has become completely obsolete because of the Nexus 7. It's still a bargain and for some of us a better choice than the Nexus 7. I love the size, features, and performance. You can safely make a buying decision based on your particular needs. Great service from Crutchfield.
Pros: Nice screen, dual core processor, easy to handle 7" form factor, reasonable price
Cons: Mediocre camera, Wish Samsung would come out with an HDMI cable for this model.
