Time-saving connections for your car
We carry cell phone kit harnesses that allow plug-in connection of Parrot's Bluetooth car kits in a wide variety of vehicles.
Parrot's MKi9100 Bluetooth car kit combines easy hands-free operation of your compatible phone or device — such as the iPhone®, or newest Android™ smartphone — with control over many portable music sources, including the iPod®. You'll see information about incoming calls displayed on its screen, and you'll be able to carry on conversations directly through your car stereo. This kit works with nearly all Bluetooth cell phones on the market and it's compatible with most car stereo systems.
The kit contains three components: a mute box that installs beneath the dashboard, a remote control keypad, and an OLED display panel. The mute box connects to your stereo system through a wiring kit harness and to the display panel with a single wire. The MKi9100 connects to your Bluetooth phone automatically once you start your car, and it can handle up to five Bluetooth devices at once.
With many phones, the voice-recognition software remembers up to 150 names from your address book for dialing, so you can dial by speaking. Using built-in text-to-speech technology, the MKi9100 can announce the names of your contacts, so you can browse through your phonebook or check out who's calling without taking your eyes off the road.
The MKi9100's high-contrast screen displays phone numbers, caller names, and music information. The MKi9100 mutes your car stereo when a call comes in, ensuring clear sound over your car's speakers. Two built-in microphones reduce noise and interference so you can hear the conversation clearly. You can talk in a normal tone — no need to shout, even in heavy traffic. The compact display panel detaches from its mounting base, so you can keep the kit out of the hands of thieves.
The MKi9100 will guide you through dialing, accessing your phonebook, voicemail, and other phone functions while you concentrate on driving. You can use the keypad's scroll-knob to control the volume and browse menus, or to rewind, fast-forward, or jump to another song.
The kit also features several connections for your portable music devices. The USB input works with newer iPods or other MP3 players. Simply connect your player and leave it in the glove compartment — you can control all the action from the keypad. You can even use your voice to control the music on your iPhone via the MKi9100's microphone. You'll also find an auxiliary input to connect audio from other music sources.
You can use the MKi9100 to control the musical output of your factory stereo system. The MKi9100's built-in amplifier helps reproduce all your music and conversations with added clarity and fidelity. If you're running an amplified or aftermarket system, you can bypass this feature to enjoy the juiced-up sound you've already got.
Note: Compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.
Note: Crutchfield carries cell phone kit harnesses that allow easy, plug-in connection of Parrot's Bluetooth car kits in a wide variety of vehicle factory systems. You can also use these harnesses in conjunction with many aftermarket systems in compatible vehicles, as long as the factory stereo connections are available.

Works great. Just what we needed for hands free calling. Get the harness for easy install.
This would be great if I didn't have to keep resetting it to register my phone. Kind of obnoxious driving with how the remote attaches to the steering wheel. (I had to put it in the center to stop pushing buttons when having to make a turn.) The band wasn't long enough for this, so I used a rubber band. It looks kind of tacky, but at least That problem's fixed.
Pros: It's really nice when it actually works!
Cons: Doesn't always read my phone, doesn't always play sound from my phone as it should. The controller gets in the way of driving. When making turns, you'll push buttons without meaning to.
great for Subaru with automatic climate controls built into head unit.
I love Bluetooth in the car, but who had it '98? No one! This makes it easy to get great sound in any vehicle. I am able to keep my factory system, which is quite good, and add additional sources as well as hands free through my iPhone.
Pros: Sounds absolutely fantastic. Also lets me keep my CD, Tape, AM-FM totally available. Compact, fits easily by the glove compartment, and behind dash.
Cons: Install instructions are a bit thin....
A few years ago (mid 2000s), Parrot focused on these devices. Now they don't-they mostly build drones (check out their website). And it shows. There hasn't been any new hands-free product from this company in years. As for this product, The blue box (brain) feels cheap, is loaded with software glitches (like constantly running in night mode, the remote barely functions other than to change volume, people always complain about background noise), and the hardware doenst last (mine stopped working in just over a year). Before you spend hundreds on this (with harness and install, close to $400) do yourself a favor and get a visor mounted Bluetooth speaker and mount your phone to your dash with a vent mount. You'll be much better off in both quality and cost, and probably driving safety (driving with a malfunctioning device is distracting).
Pros: looks nice
Cons: everything else
software issues throughout, broke after 16 months
Pros: good concept
Cons: This is my second one in the same car. The first lasted 6 years (mki9000). The second one had issues from the start. Eg, the remote control function didn't work well when trying to place or end calls. It also always seemed to be on "night" mode, which made viewing the screen very challenging with any amount of ambient light. It stopped working today, altogether. Very disappointing. Only consider this company's product if you can't change your stock radio.
Gave this 1 star because 0 was not an option. Easy installation with Crutchfield's install kit and instructions. This is a waste of money, works ok at first cheaply made microphone makes you sound your underwater, the remote broke within 2 months, can't read the screen on sunny days, requires round watch batteries and microphone mounts are fragile other than that it's great.
Pros: Easy install thanks to Crutchfield's directions and unplug and plug wire kit.
Cons: Absolute junk I recommend not wasting your money there are better options available especially for the money.
This is a great bletooth setup for hands free mobil phone operation. Once all the plug in wire harness was on the radio and the Parrot hooked up it was a snap to use.
Pros: Hands free, small and conseal away.
Cons: Trying to hide the wires, wish it had the controls built into the steering I bump the switch all the time turning.
Great product, and easy to install using the vehicle adapters from Crutchfield. We've had it drop a connection once over a month of use, but that could've been a fluke, so we're generally pretty satisfied.
Pros: easy install decent UI decent sound
Cons: sometimes ambiguous pairing status when there are multiple phones in the car need to find a tidy place to hide the mic & display wires, but that's inherent in any aftermarket system
I love this product. It is great for the car and adds safety to making calls. I wish the voice recognition was a little better.
Pros: Sound is clear, not problems with the microphones. The phone book synced right up with my android phone
Cons: Voice recognition limited
Fit perfectly, quality manufacture, directions were rubbish but you shouldn't really attempt install if you need detailed instruction so not all that important - YouTube vids give better instruction for prepping the car. Double sided tape a poor mounting solution on textured surfaces in my car but that's easily enough remedied. Parrot doing everything they claim so I'm a happy customer.
Pros: Well thought out, fabricated & all parts included.
Cons: Blue color of CPU box is tacky
The MKi9000 has proven to be better than advertised. I installed this myself in a 2007 Honda Accord. It was more fun to install this myself. The install directions from Parrot are limited, Crutchfield sent a install guide specific to my vehicle which made the process much easier. Call quality and Bluetooth acoustics are very good .
Pros: Flexible set up and use options The sound through the Parrot is surprisingly good - Better than the factory radio
Cons: The remote installed on the steering wheel can be a little quirky. It leads To accidental recall of Your last call. The voice command is a little hard to understand.
very nice item. There is no dash kit for my american style Subaru Legacy 2005. I was looking for a way to add bluetooth to my car and be able to play my iphone through my speakers. this little guy took me (very inexperienced) about 1.5 hrs to install and it works and sounds great! works with pandora, music app... anything with bluetooth. the input cord was long enough to reach the inside of my console from behind my receiver! very happy with this item.
Pros: easy to use, bluetooth calling, very fast connection to phone each time i enter car
Cons: sometimes i hit the control switches when im turning on short notice, changing the song or dropping the call.
The Parrot MKi9100 is everything it was stated to be. Once power up, it paired with my iPhone5 immediately. Controls are easy to operate and move thru menus are easy too. System works as advertised.
Pros: Easy install, easy operation once paired to iPhone5.
I bought the Parrot MKi9100 for my wife's 2008 Honda Odyssey. It is hands down the best Bluetooth device we've used. Installation wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. Once the dash was apart it was plug and play with the wiring harness (also ordered through Crutchfield). The only issue I ran into was limited documentation that came with the device. This replaced a Motorola Roadster Handsfree that never really worked that well with all the background noise in a minivan. The MKi9100, works flawlessly. It easily synched with my wife's phone and the dual microphone picks up our voices regardless of how much noise the kids are making in the back. The people we have called said the call was was clear and they could not tell we were in the car. Same with incoming voice quality. The one con is when it reads a name from the phone book, the volume is low and it is sometimes hard to understand. This might be a setting on phone, I'm not sure. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this product.
Pros: Call clarity. Easy to use. Can control and charge an iPod.
Cons: Limited documentation from Parrot.
I have wanted to put a Bluetooth system in my 2005 Subaru outback for 5 years and have generally been frustrate with my options. To put an entirely new stereo in was so expensive it hardly seemed worth it. But then the folks at Crutchfield told me about this and I can't be happier! The soy d is excellent and since most of my music resides on my iPhone it has opened up my library so I can listen in the car. The phone calls are clear and the person on the other end can hear me well. I recommend mounting the microphone on the steering column.
Pros: Easy install Great sound
This system does exactly what I need - provides great Bluetooth functionality. I have always installed aftermarket stereos in my vehicles and while all have provided great audio, some of the Bluetooth functionality has been marginal. I finally decided to try a dedicated unit and ordered an open-box Parrot MKi9100 from Crutchfield along with the recommended harness for my Ford Escape. My wife can actually hear me now when talking on my cell phone! Some of my previous head-units have had built-in Parrot Bluetooth, but whatever noise-canceling voodoo they do with the dual-microphones on this unit is far superior to the Clarion and Kenwood units I used previously in this vehicle. The iPod/USB capability works well too.
Pros: Excellent Bluetooth performance Good audio from iPod / MP3 USB (for a 20W/ch RMS amp) Intuitive user interface - controls logical and easy to use The "open-box" item was indistinguishable from a new boxed product except for some Crutchfield tape on the box. Item was pristine and functions flawlessly.
Cons: None so far.
This was disappointing. We had to return it because it couldn't be installed. This, after we talked to someone at Crutchfield who assured us we could get it installed in my son's Honda.
I decided to purchase the Parrot MKi9100 for our Mazda 6 from Crutchfield because of the great help I got on the phone before I purchased. When I called to ask some questions about DIY installation the reps on the phone were very knowledgeable and gave not even a hint of pressure to buy from Crutchfield. They steered me in the direction of quick connect who provided a custom cable that allowed direct plug and play to my factory Bose system, couldn't have been easier! I'm very pleased with the result. The parrot gives seamless Bluetooth connectivity of my iPhone enabling use of phone and music without wires..........awesome
I'm very pleased. Looked a bit overwhelming when I first looked at, but its easy once you lay it all out. Connected to the stock stereo in a 2004 Ford F350. I installed it 3 weeks ago, and it's worked flawlessly.
Pros: Easy installation
Cons: Would be nice if it was as loud as the stereo
Not ready for prime time. The concept is good, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. I have one of these for my wife's Acura MDX and another for my Dodge Ram pickup. The MDX unit failed while still under warranty, but Parrot wouldn't honor the warranty- fortunately, Crutchfield came through on that one. Software on the original units needs updating, but you have to take the car apart to update the box. The replacement unit has updated software, but doesn't work any better. Doesn't recognize the word 'home" unless you shout it several times- very poor voice recognition. Batteries wear out quickly (less than a year) and although we don't remove the removable screen, it still has worn so that if you hit a bump it pops out of the cradle, causing a reboot. I wouldn't recommend this product.
Pros: Technically works as promised.
Cons: Only works well upon installation. wears out quickly, extremely frustrating to use on a daily basis- will probably cause more accidents than it prevents.
Just installed this and am VERY surprised by how good it works. The install was easier then expected, with the T harness from Crutchfield. I had to call Crutchfield with a couple questions about extra wires, but with their advice the install went smoothly. The Parrot quickly sinc'd with my LG phone via bluetooth and my ipod when I plugged it in. The sound is actually a little better then the stock radio because the Parrot has a small amp in it. Overall, I'd say buy this product! It's in my wife's car now. If after a month I'm still this impressed, I'll buy another for my Honda.
This product is a joke. I installed this in my 2004 Dodge RAM using the adapter recommended by Crutchfield. The sole purpose was for iPhone integration. I wanted to use the hands free, phone charger, and have the ability to easily choose different songs to play. Pros: - It's blue. Cons: - The unit will lose sync with the phone and fail to control it. Have to pull over and turn the truck off to reboot the MKI. - Often, music from the phone stops playing on the MKI. Pull over, reboot. - Bluetooth music is very quiet, have to plug it into the port on the phone to listen to music. - Scrolling through song titles by letter fails and skips many letters. Updating the firmware helped, but still happens. - Knob falls off controller if you bump it and during use. - Rubber "band" that attaches it to steering sheel wore out after three months - Display is hard to see, even though I have tinted windows (dim mode can't even be read at night) - Bluetooth speakerphone is unusable. I have to hold it in front of my mouth for the other person to hear me. The other person also hears an echo of their own voice. I expected MUCH better for the price I paid for this and the adapter. This makes two crutchfield recommended purchases in a row that are ABSOLUTE JUNK.
If your looking to integrate a bluetooth unit with your factory OR aftermarket deck - this parrot MKI9100 unit is amazing. The volume is clear, the sound cancelling is on par with the best of anything I have ever used. The built in sound recognition also works as well as anything I have ever tried - AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. My callers hear me clearly even at 100+ (KM/H) with windy/rainy conditions. Negatives? Make sure you purchase the crutchfield adapter - although you don't HAVE to - the wiring is complex without it! PS... the boot time is just a little longer than my Deck - but it pairs instantly with my phone - making it ready almost immediately. I definately recommend this unit!
Product works great. Has better microphone reception than the factory installed Uconnect . Very happy with the product. It was installed in a 2004 Taurus. I was very disappointed in the tech support for installing since the amp was in the trunk for the speaker connections. I was given clear instruction on the in or out for the speaker mute. Had to have a local Parrot dealer install at get expense. You need a tee- connection and wire supply kit for the Taurus series and examples and running the wires to the trunk. But the product works great.
The product does everything it describes and works well. Voice recognition calling is great so you never have to take your eyes off the road. The microphone is great, people have always had difficulty hearing me talk through a phone, but with this microphone there are never any issues. I give them 4 vs. 5 because because the remote does not look to be the most robust. The unit is quick and easy to install, I had it connected and functional inside of twenty minutes. I also purchased the wiring harness from Crutchfield so that I did not have to splice wires etc., that made it very easy and much cleaner IMO; well worth the additional money. If you aren't skilled at wiring definitely purchase through Crutchfield since they provide support with their product, vs. other retailers or something similar. The pricing is nearly the same and the state of mind knowing the service is there for assistance in installation and returns etc. if necessary are well worth the small price difference. It did take me an hour or two to install the box and wires cleanly behind my dash, but I am very particular and wanted everything to be clean and not hanging or visible. Use a dashboard remove toolkit to prevent damaging dash and the expedite this step. The other product I considered was the Dice product. The Parrot product was less expensive and had better reviews and functionality, I am very pleased with my decision.
this system is not even in my car yet and the controller is falling apart. the dial push button is continuosly falling off and the cebter button below this has come off once as well. this is a cheap unit and will not last long. very disappointing.
The Parrot MKi9100 did everything that I needed and then more. I ordered the T-harness from Crutchfield that matched the radio in my car ... looking at the diagrams puzzeled me. After talking to John in Crutchfield Customer Support he said that everything is "plug and play" and that the plugs are made so that you cannot plug into the wrong jack . I found that the harness is made just like John said and I found is "idiot-proof" where you cannot accidentally plug into a wrong jack ... very easy. All the rest of the loose wires is not needed and is just tucked away (I zip-tied mine) ... if the Crutchfield T-Harness is used. Suggestion: In the Crutchfield instructions, please state that if the Crutchfield T-harness is used, no other connections or wire splicing is needed ... just plug all the connectors in ... the connectors are made so that the connectors cannot be plugged in wrong. I plan on buying more of these and other items from Crutchfield! Thank you John ... you made my day!
I purchased this for my 2008 Honda Pilot. I bought the Honda-compatible adapter harness, and installation was pretty much plug-and-play once I removed the radio. Total installation took me about an hour. The system itself does exactly what it says. Syncing my phone (Blackberry 9630) was fast & easy. Audio plays through the line-in, iPod, and USB jacks just as you would expect. Choosing songs and artists is a ittle clunky, but it's not bad. The phone functionality works great -- everything mutes when a call comes through or when you want to place a call, and it un-mutes when you are done. It's all seamless and intuitive. Audio quality is good, and it met my expectations on all fronts. My only gripe isn't the Parrot MKI9100's fault, but it is a legitimate gripe. My Pilot has a factory subwoofer that is powered by the head unit. The wire running to the subwoofer does not pass through the Parrot's blue box like the other speakers. As a result, when a call comes in, the speakers mute but the subwoofer keeps thumping away. The same thing is true for listening to music from an iPod, USB, or aux input -- the speakers play what's coming from the Parrot, but the subwoofer thumps away to the Radio, XM, or CD from the head unit. The easy fix is to turn off the radio while using the Parrot, but it is still a minor annoyance. I am happy with the Parrot, and I would recommend it to others. The gripe I mentioned above is the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars.
I had grown tired of charging my bluetooth headsets and searched around before finally deciding on this particular parrot model. i already have an ipod adapter in my car so I don't use the one supplied with the model but as far as the bluetooth call performance is concerned I couldn't be happier! I will say though that I was disappointed the quick connect harness for my vehicle was not available through crutchfield. I googled around for a quick connect (no splicing involved) harness for my 2008 G35x and found one at a reasonable price. Start to finish it took me 20 minutes to remove the radio, put this in, replace the radio and have my phone paired. It couldn't have been easier!! My only wish is that the unit would be able to display the call on the car's radio screen instead of the parrot LCD, but that's a big request understandably. The Crutchfield price was WAY cheaper than other comparable places. Over the years i've ordered several radios, speakers and other accessories from Crutchfield and I will continue to keep coming back!!
Parrot has earned their reputation for a reason- this unit works very well, is easy to install and simple to understand. I have been trying to get a workable bluetooth solution for my iPhone that will allow me to stream audio via bluetooth. I had an older Parrot receiver which worked exactly as promised, but was completely dysfunctinal as a car stereo. The Clarion and Kenwood in-dash receivers I tried had flaws of their own, which made them difficult to use without taking your eyes off the road- obviously not the best solution. The stand-alone Parrot kit fits the bill perfectly. Plug-and-play for my car with the optional wiring harness (highly recommended) and extremely simple to install. the hardest part is figuring out where to mount the screen and control. Plug it in and it works like a champ. PROS: Easy install, great sound, many easy adjustments like mic gain and menu volume make it easy to tailor to your own specifications. CONS: System is a full-blown computer, so it takes a minute or so to boot up when you start the car. Streaming Pandora over bluetooth sometimes switches off between songs- presumably the dead air makes the unit believe there is no more signal- not a big deal, and likely iPhone related rather than Parrot.
I went to Crutchfield Customer assistance to ensure that I ordered the right parts for the install . They were extremely helpful to ensure that I was able to get it right the first time. Ordered the unit and a patch cable for my vehicle and when it came in I was able to install it all myself, Plug and Play. I ran into one problem with the remote in that I hadn't paired the remote to the unit. The instructions do not show that is a required step. I called Crutchfield Tech Support and we had it going in about 10 min. The tech said that they had the more in depth instructions on their site for download. I placed the remote on my steering wheel and the display next to the radio and all works great. The voice dial is so simple, wasn't necessary to activate as directions said. Can adjust volume from the remote, could use some more for when I play my music from my phone. Microphone is very sensitive. a friend had to ask me to stop yelling. Clearity is good. This has been a very positive purchase and would buy more of the Parrot products if needed. Thanks to the folks at Crutchfield for an enjoyable purchase, very professional.
Well, I bought the first one and had it installed and could not get it respond to the remote and it would not pair. CF was great and sent another one right out. Second one, same install, no luck - same problems. CF spent time on the phone with the installer so I'm confident that they knew what they were doing. Before the third one was sent out, CF made sure it worked in their test car. Next one, BINGO! If I had bought this from any of the Grey Market guy's, I would have been holding a hunk of plastic. Instead I received patience and limitless support. Thank you CF. The unit works very well, the voice rec. is spot on. I didn't even have to set up the voice tagging per the instructions. I have a BB Curve with voice dialing activated and it understands everything. The display is very readable, plus it goes to sleep when not in use. It's hooked up to an Alpine X-100. The volume is controlled by the Parrot itself and sometimes it could use a bit more. I was pleasantly surprised that the X-100 in addition to muting the radio when a call comes in also pauses iPod playback as well. When a call comes in the name is announced you give the remote a little click to pick up (caller id info is displayed) and a click to end. The remote lets you scroll through your phone book by letter (it reads the letter of the alphabet as you scroll ), call logs etc.. all by just listening & clicking. You never have to take your eyes off the road. It is great! I guess my first two weren't just lemons.

Greetings Andrew, The Mk9100 kit arrived and was plug and play. I was uncertain of some of the connections and the Crutchfield tech line helped me sort it out. Works great to date.. [ STEVEN M Apr 16, 2016 ]

I started with mk9100 used the custom harness. Like falling asleep easy easy easy. [ Vincent Apr 14, 2016 ]
I did exactly the same thing upgrading to the mk9100 from the ck3100. If you order the wire harness adapter its was a simple drop in replacement. Big improvements over the ck3100 with my iPhone 6s syncing everything, audio books, music and phone of course. With the built in amp the phone volume is much clearer 2004 ford super duty. any Bluetooth phone will connect, but some of them may not be compatible with the voice dial feature. The 9200 is basically the same but a larger color screen. [ LISA Aug 03, 2015 ]
Hello Keith, I have only used my parrot with an iPhone. It works beautifully with that. I know it was designed with the Apple i products in mind, but It should be compatible with any blue tooth enabled phone however, I can only speak to the iPhone. [ PETER P Jul 31, 2015 ]

All I can tell you is Crutchfield has a third party vendor that provides custom cable adapters for you car to the parrot system. I would think an advisor would be able to tell you more. I have a premium sound system with amplifier and the parrot works just fine with my system. I love it. [ LISA May 12, 2014 ]
Incompatible, not likely to be incompatible. I would though recommend having it professionally installed or find someone very knowledgeable with electronics. I still haven't been able to get mine functioning in a 97 F-150 with premium sound (amp). The issue I am experiencing is if the Parrot is hooked up pre amp the Parrot and the radio cancel themselves out and no sound is played when the Parrot is engaged. I think this should be solveable with the use of a relay but I have yet to wire One in. If I place the Parrot in line after the amp then I fail to get sound from the radio at all (parrot engaged or not). However, the parrot works perfectly in the after amp config using only its internal 20 watt amp. Overall the device works wonderfully. I can make and receive calls and listen to streaming media from my cell phone. One piece I wish it did do and I haven't called support regarding is passing through the song titles from apps such as Pandora. [ STEVEN May 11, 2014 ]
