Our take on the Parrot MINIKIT+ by Crutchfield's Dominic DeVito
The MINIKIT+ Bluetooth car kit offers a great portable solution
Parrot's been leading the way in the Bluetooth world with their portable and car kits. Now, they've improved their popular MINIKIT Slim kit, so it's even easier for you to communicate with the outside world while you're behind the wheel. The MINIKIT+ hands-free kit works in any vehicle, and it can also help around the house if you're cooking or knitting and need both hands while talking on the phone.
Intelligent design means ease of use
The MINIKIT+ keeps it simple a rotary jog-dial, two buttons, and a built-in flat-panel speaker nothing fancy or difficult to understand. The included spring clip and elastic strap allows for convenient visor mounting. The omnidirectional mic uses noise reduction and echo cancellation circuitry so you can have a conversation in your car without raising your voice.
Voice recognition software
The kit connects with your Bluetooth mobile phone automatically a vibration sensor wakes up the MINIKIT+ when you enter your vehicle. The kit uses its own built-in voice-recognition software instead of your phone's, so you don't have to touch your phone while driving. The MINIKIT+ can pair with up to ten compatible phones or devices simultaneously.
Easy phonebook sync and voice recognition
Got a large phonebook? The MINKIT+'s automatic synchronization makes it easy to access your contacts, and it can support up to 2,000 contacts per phone for up to ten phones. The voice-recognition feature lets you find contacts easily, and the kit will announce the names of incoming callers as well as read your contacts list out loud to you. When you're receiving a call, you can simply say "accept" or "refuse" in lieu of pressing a button on the MINKIT+.
Handles two phones at once
Got a couple of chatters on board? The MINIKIT+'s dual mode lets you simultaneously connect two phones and receive incoming calls on either one. Each phone will trigger a different ringtone on the MINIKIT+, and it will automatically direct a call to the second phone if the first phone is in use.
TextFriendly lets you access texts safely
The MINIKIT+ includes a free six-month subscription to TextFriendly, an interactive service that reads your texts and emails to you while you drive, and lets you answer them with your voice all without taking your hands off the wheel. You can drive more safely and avoid hefty penalties in many areas by not texting as you drive. The service costs $6.99 per month once the free trial subscription expires.
Works with music and GPS, too
You can use the Parrot MINIKIT+ to listen to songs stored on your mobile phone or Bluetooth audio device, and it will pause the music if you receive a call. If your phone supports GPS and it can send the navigation instructions via Bluetooth, the navigation instructions can be played through the MINIKIT+. Your phone must support the Bluetooth A2DP profile for either of these features to work.
The compact MINIKIT+ fits in your pocket or bag, and it works with most Bluetooth mobile phones and devices. Charge it up with the included car charger, and you'll get up to 12 hours of talk time, plus 15 days of standby power. The kit enters sleep mode after five minutes of not being paired with a device, and can hold power for up to 6 months in sleep mode on a full battery charge.
Bluetooth note: Bluetooth compatibility of this device may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.
When looking for a solution for my 2005 Tahoe I came across a number of solutions which would require a harness which is not made for my truck. In speaking with tech support thery made this suggestions and I went with it. I am glad I did...Works great and allows me to stay focused while driving.

Multipoint (Dual Mode): You may simultaneously connect two Bluetooth telephones & receive incoming calls on either one easily. When two phones are connected to the Parrot MiniKit+, one of the phones becomes the main phone & the other is the secondary phone. You can receive calls from the main or secondary phone. The Parrot MiniKit+ ringtone varies according to the phone receiving the call. Only the phone book of your main phone may be accessed through the Parrot MiniKit+, and you can only make calls using the main phone. If you receive a call on one of the phones while you are already on a call with the other phone, only the phone receiving the call will ring. This new call can only be picked up from the phone (not the MiniKit+).

Phonebook: The first time you use the Parrot MiniKit+, it synchronizes its phonebook with your Bluetooth enabled smartphone's phonebook. It can support up to 2,000 contacts per smartphone (up to 10) and a total of 20,000 contacts for all paired phones (up to 10). This synchronization will re-launch itself each time your phonebook has been modified.
Note: Only the contacts stored in the phone memory are synchronized. If your contacts are stored in the SIM card memory, transfer them into the phone's memory first. If your smartphone doesn't support automatic synchronization, you can also send contacts manually from your smartphone to the car kit via Bluetooth.
Voice Recognition: All your contacts, after automatic synchronization, are directly provided with a voice tag in the Parrot MiniKit+. Consequently, you don't have to record your own voice tag on each contact to make a call via the voice recognition process.
Note: If the Parrot MiniKit+ doesn't understand the name of one of your contacts or if a voice tag is too long, you can record a new one.
Text-To-Speech: If you wish to find a last name, a first name, or a nickname; you can browse through your directory & listen to Parrot MiniKit+ read the names of all your contacts, then validate with a single click to place the call.
Call Waiting: During a call, you can receive a second call; while putting the first call on hold.
