Overview: The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM (Model #210) is a
high quality standard zoom lens. Typical uses include travel,
weddings, events, portraits, and family photography. The lens has the
Nikon bayonet mount, and comes with a lens hood, and front and rear caps.
Optics: The lens features a wide glass molded aspherical
lens with Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass to compensate for aberrations and
curvature at the widest angle.
Lens Hood: The lens includes a bayonet-type
detachable lens hood to help
prevent stray light from entering the lens, causing flare, and to protect the
lens from rain, snow, and dust. When not in use, the lens hood can be inverted
and mounted onto the lens backwards for storage. The lens hood adds
approximately 1-7/8" to the overall length when mounted.
Focus Mode Switch: The lens features a two-way switch for
setting the focus mode: AF (auto focus) or M (manual focus).
Sigma DC Lenses: This Sigma DC lens is designed for use with
digital SLRs with APS-C-sized image sensors. The image circle matches the
smaller size of the image sensor of most digital cameras.
HSM: The lens has a hyper-sonic motor (HSM) that provides a
quiet, high-speed auto focusing mechanism.
