This thing is junk, easy instal espically with all the sheets and support that crutchfield offers (really love this company). So got it all hooked up and then it played at first but failed to be controlled buy any of the controls on the dash or my stearing wheel. So I figured it played and that was better than in my 2007 ridgline (not sure what honda was doing with no aux jack). So considerd keeping it wrong the next day could not get any aduio to play, and the thing kept freezing my ipod... So called support and with there awesomeness they set me a usaSpec brand one that did the same thing and was cheaper.... This one also easy installand about 20 dollars cheaper. Just go with the later and avoid a headache.

Pros: had a long cord that went to the ipod could have used it inthe back seat.

Cons: read the comments...

Works okay

Ron from Baltimore on 9/15/2011

I've had this product for about 3 years on my 08 Civic (no NAV). I really wanted to keep the factory look but be able to control my iPod through my car's stereo. Navigating to specific artists, songs, etc was really important to me and this adapter claimed to be able to do that. I like the ability to browse by Artist, Album, Playlist, Genre. It charges my iPod and the audio quality is very good. On the downside, I'm not really happy with the interface and how they designed the controls. Sometimes it just displays "Loading" for hours on my stereo. Maybe it is due to the amount of songs in my library. Additionally, the controls not intuitive and it can takes a while to get used to the behavior. I would have preferred if I could use my tuning knob to scroll through my library instead of the seek buttons ( >). I might have to hit the seek buttons a hundred times to find the artist I want. I would also prefer if it would allow me to drill down and select the album from that artist. Instead, it will start playing the first album from that artist alphabetically. I just began using my iPhone 4 to store my music and it doesn't charge it so I will be looking for a new adapter.

Engine Noise

Works great but tons of radio noise. Really surprised at this.

P.I.E. iPod® Adapter for Honda

ME from Florida on 8/15/2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works great. Installed this unit in my wife's Honda Pilot. She can operate her I-Pod through the radio, or the I-pod. Simple to use.

Works for iPhone!

2006 Honda Odyssey
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It does NOT have to be in airplane mode to work...just ignore and hit "no" on the iPod (or just leave it). One issue with the iPhone is that you need to be in simple mode in order to really have control over the songs or the least, that is my impression so far. Either way, it charges and plays the music through my wife's Honda Odyssey...will be a dream come true on our next drive to Florida. No more FM modulator. Install was very simple...only issue was routing of the cable which will depend on the vehicle you are putting it into. Was tough to route behind the dash and get to the glove box in the Odyssey. May eventually drill a hole so it can be in the center console storage area for easier access to change songs. Once a playlist/album/artist is selected from the iPod/iPhone, you can still use the normal "skip to next song" control (tune knob on the Odyssey) to get to the next song or back to the beginning of the song you are listening to.

Dont buy for an iphone

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Didn't know the iphone had to be in airplane mode in order for it to work, so what's the point if you lose the phone functions. SO im just using an old ipod instead of returning it. You have to press the FM then XM until you get it to turn on which is annoying. Although i called to return and an "email was sent" with a return number, it never came. I think down the road i will just buy a head unit.

Great Product !!!!

2006 Honda Ridgeline
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

With not wanting to remove the factory radio. An Honda Pulling its music link due to problems. I was happy to find a product that would work with the factory radio an controls. With out cutting into the factory harness. Product was easy to install took about 1/2 hour to install. It allows access to the I-pod playlist, albums, artist. The only knock is having to put radio to am when turning radio off. Have recommended this to many honda owners as a alternative to replacing factory radio.

Just what my Ridgeline needed!

2006 Honda Ridgeline
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works great...SOUNDS great! FM modulator, I don't need no stinkin' FM Modulator! The Ridgelines radio responds really well to this device, I can use the radio buttons to control the ipod and it is wonderful. I have XM and switching between the ipod and XM is no hassle. ****Just remember to push the AM/FM button first before you switch to the ipod function! P.I.E. sort of left out that little tidbit in the instructions.**** I am very happy with this product and would reccomend it to anyone with a factory radio in a it's nice to have a kick booty radio straight from the factory.

Shows Text on your car radio

Ismael from Burke, VA on 9/2/2008

2007 Honda Odyssey
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Pro's: Display song/artist info on the radio display; control iPod from radio controls; very transparent in terms of sound quality; easy to install/setup; add auxiliary input to the radio (to connect, for example, dvd player); charges the iPod; works with almost any iPod. Con's: Slow interface; weird/convoluted iPod navigation Overall this is a good gizmo; it does what it is supposed to do in a good way (not excellent, but good). I had previously bougth an Alpine iPod adapter for the Alpine overhead dvd player in our Honda Odyssey, but the sound quality was terrible to say the least, and you could either listen to the dvd player or the iPod. With the PIE adapter the sound quality is excellent and we can listen to the ipod while the kids in the back are watching a movie (or, if we want to, we can listen to the movie via the AUX audio input). There a couple of things that could be improved, but I would recommend this device.

Shows text and controlled via factory radio

Mark from Alabama on 6/19/2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

PROS: Works through factory radio, shows artist name or song title, still allows use of XM just toggle back and forth to XM and AM/FM, charges iPod, allows control of iPod itself in simple mode and then keeps same song playing when returned to full control mode, offers aux input which can be switched on and off via scan button, can jump through songs by holding tune button counts in 10's vice 1's CONS: My channel button on the steering wheel does not change songs (button works just not with this device), interface is not slow but when changing songs it only displays numbers until the song starts playing, no way to see rest of song title just 1st 15 characters, getting it to sync sometimes an issue will display loading for 5 minutes while songs playing, but no text info-maybe 6th gen issue.
