Solid Connection

Anonymous from Buffalo, NY on 2/12/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Using with an iSimple factory radio adapter to be able to connect with an iPhone 7. Works as expected but the iPhone 7 won't charge. So, if you are using this with a device and absolutely need to charge while using, and it doesn't, send it back, obviously, or live without the ability to charge the device while in use.

Just the Right Adapter!

Charissa from Bethlehem, PA on 11/7/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent adapter! I tried another retailer for this, but they did not have the reliable quality product I needed, so I contacted Crutchfield and they were able to go above and beyond to help me find the right and reliable adapter. Highly recommend this particular product and Crutchfield.

Pros: High quality. Crutchfield service.

Cons: If you have a protective, hard case, you will need to remove it to use this adapter.

This Saved My Sony Clock Radio

Mort18 from Rome, NY on 6/11/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a Sony Personal Audio Docking System with a 30 pin iPod dock in my bedroom and I use it daily. When I purchased a new iPod with a lightning port, I thought I would either have to live with using my antiquated iPod or get a new audio system. I found this adaptor, purchased it, and problem is solved.

Pros: A problem solver. Well built.

Cons: None

Works like a charm in my Bose SoundDock. As others have noted, you'll likely need to remove your iPhone case to connect this, but worth it. And of course, the Crutchfield shopping experience is always terrific.

Exactly what I needed

SheR from North Carolina on 11/17/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Needed adapter for car audio system. Crutchfield customer service was excellent in helping this technically challenged, frazzled mother find something in a hurry before a road trip so my new iPhone 6 would connect to my car's audio system. This is exactly what I needed, the only draw back is I do have to slip off my phone case as the adapter doesn't fit through the case opening. But I'm so happy to be able to access iTunes again when I'm traveling! I agree with other reviewer I do wish it came in black or gray to match phone, but it is easy to spot in my console.

Pros: Easy fix and I can access iTunes in my car again on my new iPhone 6

Cons: It doesn't fit though my phone case and it doesn't match the phone, very minor cons.

Lightning to 30 pin

Ted S. from Cross Junction, Va on 10/15/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The only thing that could make tis adaptor better is a short wire between the two plugs. The current configuration does not allow me to plug the Lightning connector without removing the Otterbox from my IPad Air and my Lifeproof off of the my IPhone.

Pros: It is convenient to not be forced to carry two cords if you have older Apple products.

Cons: Needs a short cord between the two plugs.

Lightning to 30 Pin Adapter

BT from NJ on 6/20/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

does what it's supposed to do, but a stupid design, typical of Apple. It doesn't fit the iPod squarely, it's off center, so now it sits in my sound dock off centered, and looks stupid. Also, again, typical of Apple, it's white, which looks stupid, again, with a black iPod. But it does work, so I'll give them that. Why so expensive?

Pros: It works.

Cons: Fits silly, off center, and looks dumb.

Useful, not Exciting

MarkD from Charlottesville MA on 6/2/2014

This is a useful little device that no one should have needed. I had purchased a good quality charger and player for my previous cell phone. When the new cell phone arrived, with its now 30-pin plug, the player became obsolete because the pin design had been changed, hence the new phone couldn't use the old charging system. Enter the Apple 30-pin adapter. It works all right, does what it's supposed to do, with only one annoying design defect. When you are through charging the phone or listening to whatever and attempt to disengage the phone from the 30-pin adapter, the adapter invariably comes away with the phone, instead of staying securely mounted on the base. Every time you pick it up, you have to pull it off the phone and re-position it back on the base. A little thing, but very annoying when it happens for the hundredth time, and earning the product only 3 stars.

Pros: It works.

Cons: Pricey, but that's Apple for ya.

Apple® Lightning™ to 30-pin adapter

DickB from Richfield, Mn. on 4/2/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Adapter does what it says it will do.

Pros: .

Cons: It does not plug into a Iphone 5 that has a case on it. I have many friends that own Iphone 5s and they all have cases on them so this adaptor is useless. I ended up buying the the corded version of this from Crutchfield and it works great. I wish your adviser would have talked to me about this before i bought it.

I ordered the 30 pin adapter for my daughter for christmas. She has the new Ipod 5th generation. The adpater allows her to use the Ipod on any radio now. The adapter fits perfect on any device that we own. The quality is great. It is worth the money.

Pros: The fit is great on any device. The sound quality is nice!

Cons: None

I can't say that it works with the touch but it worked just fine with my iPhone 6 and 7. One weird thing to note is that with my iPhone 7 it makes the mute icon pop up but if you restart it, it will function normally. Hope this helps! [ Patrick  Jul 04, 2017 ]
I believe so because it works with the 6S plus that I have. Both iPods have the same charging/data port. [ ROBERT  Jul 04, 2017 ]

I used it for an Ipod Nano so I cant' tell you if it works on iphone6. Sorry. [ DANIEL T  Mar 09, 2015 ]
Yes it does. Some of the bigger phone cases such as otterbox and other waterproof cases will make the connection difficult, but it works great with the phone by itself. [ BRANDON R  Mar 09, 2015 ]
Yes! The only issue you may experience would be the need to remove a cover from your phone, in order for the 30 pin adaptor to seat properly. I need to remove my incipio case when I connect to my iPhone 6. [ GLENN  Mar 09, 2015 ]
