Well-finished materials, easy to put together, and beautiful
We really like our TV stand! We don't have a specific furniture style that we were trying to match, but we were attracted by the modern-looking combination of dark wood, glass, and silvery metal. Getting it in the door was a bit challenging, but the packaging was amazing... even the box staples held fast during the whole shipping trip, but opened easily to my hands. Every item had just the right amount of cardboard, styrofoam, or gauzy protective plastic around it, and there was what I'd call minimal trash left to landfill. There are about three places (noted in the instructions) where you need to have two people just because it's too heavy to support one piece while manipulating another; I did most of it by myself. I'm also quite careful, but the couple of times that the directions caution "Do Not Overtighten!" should be heeded -- I came close to hearing some cracking glass or screws stripping out of wood. Just read and follow the directions and don't be stupid. The two pieces of glass that you slip over the vertical posts are painted black on one face, so think ahead so that when it's upright, the paint will be under the glass, not able to be scratched. Also, if you care about the "Bell'o" painted logo on the glass lining up with the gold logo on the wood upright, you'll need to pay attention during that step. The finished piece is very solid... not wobbly at all! It has only a partial back panel, so it's easy to route cable connections between A/V components.
Pros: High-quality, good-looking materials! Does not look as if it shipped from overseas in pieces in a box. Well-packed -- no damage to any pieces, at least on its way to my house. Excellent assembly instructions and illustrations, plus well-labeled components, most with individual label stickers, make it impossible to put it together wrong; the only thing they should probably mention is to place the glass shelves with the black paint oriented on the correct face.
Cons: Fairly heavy -- heavy to bring box indoors, some pieces heavy to lift out of packaging, finished piece heavy to set upright after upside-down assembly. But they can't make nice, real wood, glass, and metal magically not be heavy, so it's OK.
