6.2" LCD Touchscreen: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 multimedia receiver
features a 6.2" TFT LCD touchscreen widescreen (16:9) monitor. The screen has a
resolution of 800 (H) x 480 (V) x RGB and contrast ratio of 600:1. The LCD
touchscreen serves as a video monitor, system information display, and
touchscreen control panel.
Display Settings: The Lightning Audio multimedia receiver offers a
variety of display adjustments.
- Picture Adjustments: You can adjust the touchscreen display's
brightness, contrast, and color from -10 to +10.
- View Mode: You can change the "view mode" of the
receiver's LCD monitor to suit your video content. You can choose from Full,
Original, Height Fit, or Width Fit.
Hard Key Controls: In addition to the unit's touchscreen display
monitor, the LA-6200 provides 3 push-button controls (Eject/Menu/BT) and a 3-way
rotary dial (volume/mute) along the left edge of the screen.
Security Code: The 6.2" LCD touchscreen is fixed and not detachable.
However, you can setup a 4-digit pass-code to help against theft. Once the unit
has been programmed with a security code, the code must be entered to use the
unit after it has been disconnected from power.
Parking Brake Detection: For safety reasons, you cannot view
a video source on the built-in monitor as long as the vehicle is in motion. In
order to display video, the yellow/blue wire within the supplied harness must be
hardwired into the vehicle's parking brake light circuit, and the vehicle's
parking brake must be engaged.
2-DIN Chassis: The LA-6200 has a 2-DIN chassis (also known
as Double DIN or size DD), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash
opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets, or Euro-mounted
using the supplied mounting sleeve. As always, please consult Crutchfield's
Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.
Built-in Bluetooth: Bluetooth hands-free communication is
built into the Lightning Audio LA-6200, making it easy to integrate a
Bluetooth enabled cellular phone (up to 10). Bluetooth is a two-way wireless
communication system allowing you to make and receive cell phone calls or stream
digital audio from your Bluetooth enabled phone on the LA-6200 multimedia receiver
Pairing: Before using the unit's Bluetooth functions, you
must pair your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone or audio device to the Lightning
Audio LA-6200. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some mobile
devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all
features when used with the LA-6200.
Hands-free Communication: The built-in
Bluetooth hands-free feature allows you to talk on your cell phone through
the LA-6200 without the need of holding the phone in your hand, which helps avoid
any traffic violations by keeping you focused on the road. When a call comes
in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker and the caller's
name or phone number will be displayed. Speak into the included microphone and
the other party will be heard through your vehicle's speakers. You can answer
the call from the head unit's touchscreen. Your music will pause or mute
automatically during a call. You can download your phonebook to the LA-6200, so
you can easily find your contacts from the unit's touchscreen. You can also
enter a phone number using the receiver's on-screen keypad. In addition, you can
search and dial phone numbers by Call History; including incoming, outgoing, and
missed calls. A phone call can be transferred between the LA-6200 and your
Front-Panel & External Microphone: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 offers
both an integrated front-panel microphone and external microphone. Use the
integrated front-panel mic if you don't want the hassle of installing the
external microphone. However, the external microphone provides better
performance and is recommended. The external mic comes with a sun-visor clip and
Audio Streaming: The built-in Bluetooth audio streaming
feature allows you to stream digital audio from your Bluetooth enabled
mobile phone to the LA-6200 and control basic playback of the audio through
the receiver. You can listen to stored music and music apps on your mobile
phone through multimedia receiver. The LA-6200 will also control basic
playback functions of your Bluetooth device's stored music; such as
Play/Pause & Skip Next/Previous. No song/artist information will be
DVD/CD Player: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 has a front-loading
disc-slot to make loading your disc easier, because there is no panel to slide
or fold-down. The multimedia receiver supports playback of DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW,
CD-Audio, and CD-R/RW discs.
Dual USB Ports: The unit features front- and rear-panel USB ports. The
rear-panel USB port includes a 39" USB extension cable. You can connect a USB
mass storage class device; such as your Android smartphone, portable digital
audio player, or USB thumbdrive. Your compatible USB storage device must be
formatted in FAT 8/16/32. USB portable audio devices that can be charged
via USB will be charged when plugged into the DVD receiver's USB port
(5V/500mA), and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.
Front-Panel SD-Card Slot: The LA-6200 is equipped with a front-panel
SD-card slot. The unit supports SD (up to 2GB) and SDHC (up to 32GB) memory
MP3/WMA/JPEG Playback: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 supports
MP3/WMA music files and JPEG still image files recorded onto a disc, USB mass
storage class device, or SD/SDHC memory card.
Playback Modes: In addition to Normal playback, you can
select from Repeat and Random playback modes.
- Repeat: Track Repeat (plays the current track
repeatedly), Folder Repeat (plays all tracks of the current folder
repeatedly), Off (cancels repeat function)
- Random: All Random (plays all tracks at random), Off
(cancels random function)
Parental Lock: The DVD system has a built-in Parental Lock
feature to prevent unauthorized persons from viewing restricted disc content. By
default, the rating system is unlocked. You can choose from 8 different levels
of Parental Lock. Once setup, the parental lock is released only by entering the
user 4-digit pass-code.
Off Eject + Auto Reload: You can eject a disc with the unit
powered off. You cannot insert a disc with the head unit powered off. The DVD/CD
player will automatically reinsert the disc if it's ejected, but not removed for
15 seconds or more.
iPod/iPhone Connectivity: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 supports
connection to either Dock-connector or Lightning-connector Apple iPods and
- 30-Pin Dock Connector iPod/iPhone (Audio/Video): The
included iPod video cable allows you to connect your iPod or iPhone to the
LA-6200 through the head unit's rear-panel USB port and composite video
input. This type of connection supports playback of audio/video content
stored on your Apple device, as well as music and movies streamed to your
iPhone from select apps. If you only require iPod/iPhone audio playback, you
can simply connect your iPod/iPhone to the LA-6200's front-panel USB port
via the USB/Dock connector cable that came with your iPod/iPhone.
- Lightning-Connector iPod/iPhone (Audio only): If you
have the latest iPod/iPhone with the new Lightning-connector, you can simply
use the Lightning-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect
to the head unit's front USB port. You can also use the included iPod video
cable, along with a Lightning-to-Dock connector adapter (472LTN230P,
sold separately) to connect your iPod/iPhone to the multimedia receiver's
rear-panel USB port; however, these Apple devices do not support video
output. The Lightning Audio LA-6200 will be able to playback stored music
and music apps on your compatible Apple device.
iPod/iPhone Control: You can control your connected
iPod/iPhone from the head unit's touchscreen. You can use the LA-6200's
touchscreen to browse your music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Genre,
Composer, or Podcast. You can browse your videos by Movie, Music Videos, TV
Shows, Video Podcasts, Rentals, and Video Playlists. In addition, you can
activate Random & Repeat playback modes. Most iPod/iPhone device's clickwheel or
touchscreen will be locked during connection (Apple devices w/ iOS 6.0+ will
Information Display: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 will
display your iPod/iPhone's music file information from stored music and select
music apps. The head unit will display Elapsed playing time, Artist name,
Song/Album title, and Album Art.
Battery Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides
0.5A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your
vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position. This unit does
not charge the iPad. If your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the
unit will not recognize it.

22W x 4CH Amplifier: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 multimedia receiver employs a 22W x 4Ch RMS amplifier (50W x 4Ch Peak).
5CH/2V RCA Outputs w/ Subwoofer Control: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 is equipped with a
pair of 2V front- and rear-channel RCA outputs, as well as a single 2V mono-sub RCA output for
connection of external amplifiers. You can independently adjust the mono-Sub RCA
output's low-pass crossover (80/120/160Hz) and volume level.
3-Band EQ w/ 4 Presets: The LA-6200 offers 10 preset EQ modes;
choose from Flat, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Soft, Vocal, Classic, Dance, Movie, Hip-Hop,
& User), plus a User EQ mode. The User EQ mode lets you manually
adjust the receiver's 3-band parametric equalizer (bass/mid/treble).

Loudness: This function enhances low and high frequencies to
make the sound clearer lower volumes.
Source Level: The level of each source (Disc/SD/USB, iPod, Tuner AV1,
AV2, & BT) may be independently adjusted to prevent radical leaps in output
volume when switching from one source to another.
Key Beep: The in-dash head unit provides an audible beep to
confirm button operation. This function can be turned On or Off.
AM/FM Tuner: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 features a built-in AM/FM
tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning.
RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast
information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible AM/FM
36 Total Presets: You can store a total of 18 FM stations presets
and 18 AM station presets, manually or automatically.
Preset Scan: The built-in tuner features a Preset Scan function which
allows you to preview your stored preset stations in the selected band.
Local Seek Mode: The unit's tuner also is equipped with a Seek mode
that when used with the Local function, only allows radio stations with a strong
local radio signals to be played.
US/European Tuning: You can set the built-in AM/FM tuner between US
standard and European tuning spacing.
Dual A/V Inputs: The Lightning Audio LA-6200 multimedia
receiver is fitted with two audio/video inputs. The unit features a rear-panel
3.5mm audio/video input for connecting an external game console or portable MP3
player. The head unit also features a composite video/stereo audio RCA input on
the rear-panel for connecting an external A/V source, such as a Blu-ray/DVD
player or mobile ATSC tuner.
Dual Video Outputs: Two RCA composite video-output jacks allow you to
add external monitors such as rear headrest monitors (sold separately). The
video output will display whatever video signal that is being displayed on the
head unit's touchscreen monitor.
Rear View Camera Input: The LA-6200 features a composite video input
and a white/tan wire lead attached to the harness for connection of a
rear view camera (sold separately). When your vehicle's transmission is in
reverse, the multimedia receiver's screen automatically switches to the rear
view camera (the white/tan wire of harness must be connected to the vehicle's
reverse lamp circuit for automatic video switching). Automatic video switching
takes approximately 2.5 seconds. Audio from your music source will continue
playing, while the back-up camera is displayed. You can choose for the monitor
to display a Mirror mode image or a Normal mode image from the rear-view camera.
IR Remote: The LA-6200 comes with a 40-button IR remote control for wireless
operation of the multimedia receiver.
Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features
an OEM steering wheel remote control 3.5mm input that lets you keep your
vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an
steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult
