Great for your iPod® and iPhone®
Just plug your phone or player into the convenient front-panel USB input, and you can use the CDE-136BT's controls to dive into your music library. The person riding shotgun will love Passenger Control Mode, which lets them play DJ while you focus on driving. And let's not forget about what made Alpine famous in the first place — great sound quality. You can adjust your sound to taste with one of the ten equalizer presets or by using the 3-band parametric EQ.

Music streaming
No iPhone? That's OK — if your phone or another device supports Bluetooth music streaming, you can beam your tunes and control playback with the CDE-136BT. You won't get full control this way, but you can perform some basic functions like track up and track down.

Advanced Bluetooth features
Have you ever tried to talk to someone, but been unable to understand them because their in-car Bluetooth just didn't cut it? Your callers will hear you loud and clear with the CDE-136BT fielding your calls. First, you can mount the included microphone in a good spot in front of you so it'll have no problem picking up your voice. Next, the receiver lets you adjust the mic's gain to best match your speaking voice. You can also tweak the phone output and ring volume, so you won't go diving for the volume knob every time someone calls. And, last of all, this Alpine downloads up to a thousand names from your phonebook, and allows you to search by alphabet to find the number you want.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

I used to have a JVC car stereo until my friends recommended Alpine & I haven't looked back since. I recently bought an Alpine to upgrade from my previous Alpine. I absolutely love this stereo & I love Alpine. Keep up the doog work Alpine.

Pros: It has great features such as bluetooth, IPod plug-in, & nice display

Cons: The USB port doesn't play songs from the USB

Great deck for the money. It was easy to install and everything went together nicely. Works seamlessly with iPhone and makes it a breeze to listen to your favorite music or podcasts!

Pros: Easy to understand and setup. The mic that connects to the deck is awesome for speaking hands free through the stereo! Comes in clear and no one complains about not hearing me either! Great device, highly recommend!

Cons: Be aware of where you want to add the mic beforehand. I had to take everything back out and drill through the plastic deck adapter kit to make it easy to place in my vehicle. My own fault but I should have paid attention. Just a heads up!

    Works as advertised

    Phil from Valparaiso,In on 2/11/2013

Installed easily in a 2012 Patriot. Sound quality is great. Easy to change inputs with the dial. Bluetooth is fantatstic, especially for handsfree calling. When a call comes in the receiver automatically switches to phone mode and displays CID\calling name if programmed in your IPhone, very nice feature. You select how to answer the call or send it to vm.

Pros: Easy install. Compatibilty with IPhone4 for music and handsfree calling via bluetooth

Cons: Radio reception could be better.

    works with iPhone 5

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed this in my 96 Ford Explorer XLT. Getting the harness hooked up correctly was a pain (master sheet said blue wire w/ white didn't need to be actually did!). The receiver works great with my updated iPhone 5 and charges properly when hooked up to bluetooth. I think it looks somewhat "no thrills" but the quality is nice and the bluetooth works great and is crystal clear with my iPhone 5. I added some Polk 5x7's and it sounds good...but not great. I think this may be because I have to use the harness with the gain adjustments (might need to tweak it) and the speakers I choose. For the price, I think its a good deal and my other Alpine receiver in my other car is still going strong after 10 years. Hopefully this one will last as long!

Pros: works GREAT and charges with my iPhone 5 bluetooth mic works great and is clear

Cons: -plain looking -no color choice for buttons...only blue illumination

    Great product! Crutchfield is awesome!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had bought a KDC-BT752HD for my wife for X-mas.........Installed it, worked great!........but......the built in mic for the 'Parrot' hands free was picking up all the road noise from her sports car (95 Toyota Celica GT). So I had to uninstall it and send it back.... Crutchfield was great!....I called and told then of my problem, and had the CDE-136-BT recommended to me because of the external mic. so I ordered it and they sent me a e-mail return shipping tag and sent out my new order before I sent the return back. It was easy, I sent the return back the same day, no problem. If I buy any car stereo, I will buy from Crutchfield!......Oh, BTW, I could not figure out how to use some of the i called again, and Mark walked me through the details....The Alpine factory manual has alot to be desired....

Pros: Great package for the price, the hands free works great!.........I can hear clearly what my wife is saying while she is driving down the freeway.

Cons: Alpines manual for use is poor...............I had to call Crutchfield to learn how too use certain features..........A issue that they should not have to deal with, but Crutchfield (Mark) did anyway, so now I love this stereo!

    Blue Tooth issues

Alpine used to rock from Woodstock, Va on 1/9/2013

I bought this to replace the stock deck for the Pandora and BlueTooth. Out of the box it looked great, paired right up and worked the first time. Then I restarted the car and it took 20 minutes to get the BT to connect again. Talking with Alpine support all I needed to do was a factory reset. I am currently doing this at least once a week and there is a promise of a firmware patch coming (been waiting 3months) When the deck works it is one of the coolest things out there. The catch is often I spend at least the first 15 minutes of any drive fighting with it to get it connected. I have 5 cars and 3 Alpines this is the first time I have ever had issues with one. To say disappointed in Alpine and this deck would be a true understatement

Pros: When it works it is a very cool

Cons: About the time I get everything just the way I want it, I have to reset it as the BT stops connecting. Along with it Alpine support keeps promising a fix but has not delivered. I would put it on an auction site and get another deck, but worried about bad feedback as it seems broken.

This little head unit is packed with features, and sounds great. It does everything I need to do and then some. It was super easy to install and Alpine gear is rock solid and lasts forever. The RMS output isn't huge, but the power pack option integrates so easily that it isn't a big deal if you really want to run more watts to your speakers.

Pros: Easy to integrate, sound great, works with the iPhone perfectly. Easy to set up and adjust settings. My wife loves how easy it is to change the time on the clock!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Sound quality is top notch on CD or IPOD mode. Blue tooth and Pandora are nice if you don't have any other music choices but the quality does suffer. (as to be expected) The blue tooth hands free for the car is great! I wasn't expecting much but it's as good as a blue tooth adapter I have ever heard. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

Pros: Decent value, the unit is fairly self explanatory. The one big button is nice. it has many features depending on what mode the user is in.

Cons: This unit does dim, but I would prefer additional dimmer settings.

    Freaking Awesome!

This receiver is awesome, The sound quality is amazing. worth every dollar with a discount with the dash kit is amazing. I have this hooked up to an Alpine MRP-300 pushing two Alpine Spr-50C and they sound incredible.

Pros: Sound quality is great, Everything works amazing. simple hook up, three sets of RCA preouts, Aux, USB, Bluetooth

Cons: Bluetooth is a little sketchy using my HTC Evo 4g Design, It hooks up fine but there is a little background noise only on Bluetooth, not sure if it is from the phone or receiver. Pandora for Android would would be super freaking amazing at this price but it only supports some Apple products :( I knew that before I purchased so not really a con.

Got this radio for my daughters car.Spent 4hours installing and tuning it. for the money this is a sick machine! the sound going to the 6x9s in the rear and 6 1/2 in the front is clean and strong and that's without an external amp. As for the usb flash drive it is a little hard to navigate the search features at first, like i said i bought it for my daughter so i only spent a little time with it. If it was in my car i would know everything about it by now.I got the alpine because i had one in my bronco and i pumped the juice out of that deck and it never failed .you cant go wrong with alpine

Pros: great sound...even greater if you expand

There is only one car stereo to buy Thats Alpine! I have been buying Alpine units for 20 years. There is NO better sounding car stereo. I have this hooked up in my 95 Town Car to an Alpine 4 channel 50x4 amp with Infinity 693.11i 6x9s in the rear and infinity refrence 5x7s in the front, I have a 12 in Alpine Sub in the trunk driven by a Rockford Fosgate RF2002 Bridged at 300watts. The sound is Crystal Clear and the bass in deep and loud. I jsut dont get the complaints about the bluetooth or the buttons are too small You will not find a better sounding Car stereo than Alpine. Those are nice extras But I buy Alpine for the sound quality!

    Pros: Another Awesome ALPINE unit!!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit works OK. But it drops the BlueTooth connection from my iPhone4 every few days. I just have to go to my Bluetooth setting on my iPhone, disconnect, then reconnect. Also, sometimes I have to pull and then reinsert the USB cable to make it talk to Pandora. i.e. the handshaking going on it is not stable. But when it works, it works very well. Sound quality is good. Handsfree phone connection works well (assuming it has not dropped the Bluetooth yet.) Operationally this unit is OK, but it not the simplest thing to operate while driving. Makes you wonder who designs this stuff. But overall, I would recommend it, but it is not by any means, perfect. When is Apple coming out with car electronics? Remember Steve Jobs used to say "It just works." Rest in peace, Steve.

    Pros: Sound quality looks

    Cons: finicky Bluetooth connections

I have this Alpine in my 98' GMC 1500, looks cool, sound is amazing and I was able to navigate through all the features without even reading the manual. Wish it had a stationary mode that I could scroll through the music on my I-phone and not have to do so on the stereo itself but all in all a well built stereo, I will definately buy Alpine again!

Pros: Easy to navigate the features on this stereo, very good sound

Cons: Not able to scroll through music on I-pod or I-phone while it is connected to the stereo, have to use the stereo controls which is not near as fast

    Love it

Works exactly as described. I absolutely love it. While using blue tooth it will even integrate with the iPhone GPS app waze. It will cut into your music to give you instructions then continue on playing your favorite songs.

Pros: Everything easy setup, easy to use, great functionality, perfect. It's exactly what I wanted.

    Cons: Nothing

    Alpine Stereo ok, Bluetooth STINKS

Kalyson from sacramento, ca on 6/8/2012

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The stereo receiver itself is pretty good. But the Bluetooth is really, really cheaply made and is unusable. We had the stereo installers rip it out. We have a Ford F150 2012 XLT and we would have been better off just leaving the factory stereo in, adding a line out converter, and hooking it up to the amp. The Bluetooth that came with the Ford was EXCELLENT. It was a real disappointment to find this one was so bad. We even tried switching the mic out but that did not make any difference.

    Pros: Ok sound quality

    Cons: Horrible Bluetooth

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Pretty good unit and really woke up my current situation. Bought my vehicle with an aftermarket stereo and replaced the speakers as they were blown but still couldn't dial in the sound and "stage" it correctly. Figuring that the problem was the head unit, I purchased the CDE136BT and wow, what a difference. Even though Blazers get a bad rap about being acousticly challenged, this unit really gave me a lot of sound without the need for an amp on the 4 corner speakers (standard front/back left/right). Planning on picking up another and installing it in my girlfriends car really soon.

Pros: Bluetooth streaming for audio! ...and it works with an Android phone! This is the reason why I chose this unit as I didnt need to purchase another item to have BT in the car. It also allows me to take calls but I don't like doing that while driving.

Cons: Not really a con because I do get BT audio streaming but the Pandora feature does not work with my phone (Android). I don't think its a con because I can still use the Pandora app on my phone and stream it using the BT audio feature of the head unit. The Android version of the unit is also a bit more expensive but you can still achieve the same basic functionality with this unit vs the one made for Android phones. Again, not a con but something to think about if on a budget.

    Awesome - excellent choice!

Excellent item - easy to install and worked perfectly immediately! The sound is clean and sharp, the bluetooth calls sound great on both ends and the Pandora is seamless. A perfect fit and a great buy! Crutchfield made the process of choosing, ordering, shipping and installing very easy and quick - I'm very pleased!

Pros: Easy to navigate and use - added a bass tube very easily - this system is everything that Alpine is about!

Cons: Sometime the bluetooth from iPhone doesn't connect - can't tell if it's the receiver or the phone.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've had this unit installed about a month now and it looks and works great. Sound quality is much much better than what I had. I had a stock tape player so maybe any deck would have made a difference. One thing I did like about this unit was all because of CRUTCHFIELD. I've never installed any stereo before this and CRUTCHFIELD made it easy. I had it installed about 2 hours total. Only problem I have so far is that you can't scroll through songs in FLASH DRIVE,,,instead you can only fast forward one song at a time. It's annoying when I have about 200 songs and to listen to let's say track 149,,,forget it. You'll have to press fast forward 149 times instead of pressing those numbers. Other things is my external mike is not working yet. I have to take it all apart to see if my plugs came out from the deck during installation. I'll update more once I check that out.

Pros: Sound quality without an amp! Easy to use!

Cons: No remote. USB MODE you can't fast forward fast enough.

    Very nice.

My prior receiver was a Blaupunkt with CD, blue tooth and usb/ipod purchased from Crutchfield. It lasted approx. 4 years before dying. That is what I get for buying a brand with questionable reliability. The quality and power of the Alpine amp makes it sound more powerful then the equally rated power of the Blaupunkt.

Pros: Very easy sync of my Android phone USB works great with my 8GB thumb drive Seamless connection to my existing Infinity component speakers and JL stealthbox and amp.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

When I was in school, I installed car audio and Alpine has always been a go-to brand for high quality products. However, like the Sirens of mythology, Pioneer lured me to their side with the AppRadio and promises of iPhone integration. In concept, the AppRadio sounds fantastic but it is a failboat that dissapoints at every turn. After two weeks of frustration, I made my move back to Alpine. The humble CDE-136BT drags the AppRadio through the mud in every regard. iPhone integration work flawlessly, Bluetooth connections are prompt, and the hands free calling is fantastic. Apart from a few nit picky complaints (see Cons), this radio is perfect.

Pros: Easy Setup, No-Hitch iPhone integration, Quick Bluetooth Connectivity, Crystal Clear hands free calling with a lot of user adjustability.

Cons: No adjustable LED Dimmer (At night, the faceplate is really bright, even with the dimming option turned on), No Option to turn Text Scrolling Completely off.

I got this to replace an older alpine that started having issues with CD's skipping and CD load issues. I have a 67 impala convertible that I modified to accept a single din. I needed a stereo head with a USB and or bluetooth to remedy the issues with a 1967 suspension and a CD player. This unit fit the bill. It was easy to install, the wiring to my trunk mounted amp was one for one, all around a great product.

Pros: USB port for Ipod, bluetooth, long wire for bluetooth mic

Excellent Radio for the price. I own a Porsche Boxster Convertible and this radio is simply a great deal. I was pleasantly surprised by the blue tooth. The Blue tooth feature is easy to work with and picks up my voice extremely well even with the top down (installed the mic just below the radio on the CD Holder). Like wise the sound is amazing even with the stock speakers that I have. The menu's are easy to navigate and the functionality as a whole are top notch. I was able to easily use the ipod function with my Iphone and navigate by playlist, artist, etc. through the receiver. Installation was a breeze as the instructions are very clear. The only con that I can think of is that I have to navigate ipod controls through receiver instead of Iphone. This is a minor flaw that does not take away from the radio at all. All in all a great value, clear sound, and easy learning curve for this radio!!!!

Pros: Bluetooth - works very well especially for a convertible. Excellent sound quality Menu items are very easy to navigate through Easy installation

Cons: ipod controls through receiver instead of Iphone.

This is a great receiver! A++ Easy to use and works with our DRIOD X android phone. No drop Bluetooth stays connected!! For Pandora to work with android you'll have to go though the ( Bluetooth streaming ) and not the Pandora that's built in the alpine. It also comes with a MIC to put anywhere in the car for people hear you clearly with Bluetooth calling. To make things clear this Alpine has it's own Pandora app that connects to a iPhone so you can control Pandora though the Alpine skip songs like songs and so on... But you can use Pandora on your android Phones as well with Bluetooth streaming If you want to skip a song you'll have to do from your phone then on the alpine itself. Not a big deal if you ask me. For phone audio side it's very clear just like talking on the phone at home. You can also add up to 3 phones on this receiver too. Kinda nice if your hubby or wife uses the car or kids for hands free calling to keep there hands on the wheel.

Pros: To answers a call it's as easy as hold down the phone button for 2 sec :) and voila! simple. When someone calls you their name comes across the Alpine to let you know who's calling without looking at your phone. You can even look though your phone book to call someone from the Alpine too.

    Cons: None

Overall a great stereo for the price. Sounds great! Love the Bluetooth and call features. Easy to install, I'm still learning all the functions and settings on it, just got it a few days ago and so far so good.

Pros: Sounds great, looks great, lots of options, good price

Cons: Only negatives I have about it is I wish it had a USB in the rear and would show text for the tuner, but I guess that is just being picky.
