Alpine KCU-461iV iPod® Cable

David L from new bedford, MA on 1/30/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice add to my head unit. Works great. Only complaint I have with the cable is the length of the cable. I wish it was just longer. By the time you plug it up in the back of the radio, it seems to have no more chord left. Other than that, it's a great add on.

Pros: Works great

Cons: Cords to short

Only works with select alpine radios

rogree from San Diego, CA on 10/28/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Cord would work if my radio was more updated. Be very specific in knowing what cord you need. This cord is needed to be returned for the correct cord, but the correct one would work like a champ

Pros: Does what it is supposed to do

Cons: Cable is very short , you need an additional adapter for newer model iPhone and iPod

great wish the cord is longer

EdwardT from Washington DC on 8/29/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just as described. Works with my new Alpine S920HD. The only drawback I can say is the cord could be a little longer.

Cons: Wish the cord is longer for backseat passengers.

Works like advertised

Rick M from Beckley WV on 8/27/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The cable works exactly as advertised an it is easy to hook up to the head unit. The only complaint I have is the dock connector is too large to fit with several different iPhone cases.

Pros: Easy to install.

Cons: The dock connector is too large to be plugged in with several different iPhone cases.

Great Cable

Atomic13MJB from Boston. MA on 8/23/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works as advertised. Seats nicely in my iPhone and doesn't come out unless I want it to do so.

Works the way that it should.

AyyJayy from Jacksonville, NC on 7/29/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The cable does what it's supposed to do. It gets the video and audio signal from the Apple device to the head unit. The only problem is that the new iOS version isn't supported on the head unit that I have (IVE-W535HD), but that's a separate issue. Just make sure that your Apple device is compatible before purchasing this cable.

Pros: Allows video to be streamed from iPod/iPhone to head unit.

Cons: Weird design. Two wires need to be plugged in separately.

Great cable for apple products

FC from Columbia, SC on 7/8/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Solid cable. Built well to last. Works as advertised. I have it connected to a IVE-W535HD and my ipod. No loss in sound.

Pros: It feels and looks well built. Looks like it will last even after connecting and disconnecting daily. Charges equipment.

Cons: None.

Works great!

JeffR from Maryland on 4/28/2013

Cable works as described with the ICS-X7HD. I am able to view videos from my 160 GB iPod classic as well as all the usual music, album art, etc.

Pros: Quality cable and connectors

Cons: None

Ipod for Alpine

ScotC from Las Vegas, NV on 4/9/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you're going to add the Alpine, Ipod is definitely on your mind. This is a solid cable that I ran from my W535HD head unit to my glove box. Plenty of cable that lets you take your Ipod out of the glove box and unplug it without straining. Nice solid connection that you have to squeeze to release, so there is never an issue with the cable working loose while you're not paying attention. Cable allows perfect functionality with your Ipod, including playlists, search functions, tagging and album art. Even charges the Ipod while not in use so you can leave the sucker in your car forever if you want. Is there anything more you need?

Pros: Perfect functionality with Alpine. Enough length to work with.

Cons: None

Great cable!

Brian C from Temecula,CA on 4/7/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This cable is perfect! I use it with my Alpine In Dash IVE 535 dvd player/iphone head unit. I use my ipod with this cable and it works great allowing me to control my songs through the Head Unit.

Pros: Great value

Cons: none

iPod video for your Alpine!

DW from Houston, TX on 11/29/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

There isn't much to this, so there really isn't a reason to give it less than 5 stars since it does what it should. Simple enough to plug in and start controlling your iPod (or iPhone) and listen to music or watch video.

Q & A

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

I still have an Ipod classic 80 gb. Didn't want it to go to waste. Now that I upgraded my radio, I got an Alpine INE-960. Just wanted to use my ipod still. The Alpine KCU-461iv cable also charges the ipod, that's a no brainer.[ David  Jan 04, 2016 ]

1 question already asked

The KCU-461iV consists of 11" iPod A/V cable, and a 5' A/V minijack extension cable[ DALE  Aug 21, 2014 ]
I have an Audi S4 and am able to reach the back seat with the extension cables provided. Guessing I think it's about 4-5 feet. If you require more length then it will be a simple trip to the local computer store to buy a longer extension cable for the usb and stereo 1/8" jack.[ MICHAEL J  Aug 19, 2014 ]
However the extension is only for the 3.5 mm jack. I had to buy a usb extension also. It all depends on your setup.[ NATHANIEL L  Aug 19, 2014 ]
The cable is 1 foot. The extension is 3 foot.[ NATHANIEL L  Aug 19, 2014 ]
The extension that goes in the back of the radio is about 5 feet and the part with the 30 pin onbit is 12 inches. Plenty of length to reach a center console or glove box[ RUDOLPH  Aug 19, 2014 ]
