Our take on the Alpine KCU-471i

Alpine Authorized Online Dealer

Alpine KCU-471i

If your iPod or iPhone has a Lightning connector, this handy 8-inch long cable will connect your Apple device to your compatible Alpine car stereo, so you can leave the cable that came with your iPod in the house. This cable supports audio playback and charging — it will not transfer video to your receiver. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: Sorry, Crutchfield cannot ship Alpine products to Guam or Puerto Rico.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Apple Car Play, you have to only use this cable alone if you want Apple Car Play, (noting not to connect with the HDMI combo or this will not work properly for Apply Car Play). Love it! direct access to my contacts and connection with the microphone, voice activated text and calls is awesome! Apple iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, Google Maps, etc are all accessible with this cord to play directly to your speakers. I love it.

Doesn't work

BrianB from Massachusetts on 5/30/2015

Purchased this for my Alpine IDA-x001 to replace the traditional iPod ubs cord the unit came with. Shipped fast but when plugged it in it says UBS error. Assuming this Alpine part isn't capatible with all Alpine units. Beware

Works exatcly as advertised.

Works exactly as described.

Does not work with head unit

Henry from Delaware on 4/27/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Everything said that it is compatable with my head unit but I receive an iPod error message when I use it. I've tried a couple different iPods so it is this cord not the iPods themselves.

Crutchfield response on 5/11/2015 Our Tech Support team reached out to the customer to see if they could help. It's possible that the cable is defective, in which case we'll send him another. And if it's just not working with his Alpine stereo, he can return the cable for a refund. That's part of our 60-day satisfaction guarantee.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It works perfact with my ipod touch. This shorter tether is much better in my glove box than the stock 3 foot cable that comes with the ipod. I am very pleased, shipping and receiving was very good

Pros: It is more compact in my glove box. Not a bunch of excess cable. Plus I can leave the stock cable at my PC for added convenience.

Cons: No cons it, is perfect

Why did you buy this?

These items should have been offered while my alpine iLX-207 was being purchased. My wife will be using her new Alpine unit with her new iPhone and I want full usability. Take a look at Alpines install manual... That's where I found that I wanted these items as well. [ JOEL P  Jan 06, 2019 ]

shorter version [ Robert  Dec 31, 2015 ]
It's just shorter. It's a good quality cable though. I haven't had any trouble with it. [ KENNETH COONS  Dec 31, 2015 ]
Sorry, no. Apple changed the functions of the pins in the 30 pin Apple dock connector prior to the release of the Lightning connector but after the release of the Alpine X100 so, any newer Apple products that feature the Lightning connector will not be recognized by the X100; even with this adapter. I'm sorry I don't have better news for you there. [ Ryan  Nov 06, 2015 ]  Staff
I am using it to play music on my 154BT it works fine. When you first use it. The system may not recognize it at first. Just unplug it wait a few seconds and plug it back in. It may ask you to configure your phone to the system mine did. After that your on your way. [ kevin  Mar 26, 2015 ]
Does not work with 6 Plus and Alpine ida-x100 Returns USB error Alpine support told me operating system can not be upgraded to solve this problem (such as attaching a USB thumb drive with an update) [ JAMES S  Mar 25, 2015 ]
I play music through this cable every day. It's the same cable that comes with your Apple but shorter. [ Lonny  Mar 25, 2015 ]
We don't show this cable as being compatible. However, you should be able to use the 30-pin connector that came with the receiver and 30-pin to lightning adapter. [ Jeff  Dec 04, 2014 ]  Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Yes, this cable will work with the Alpine UTE-52BT. It will work with any Apple device that uses a lightning connector. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy  Nov 10, 2014 ]  Staff
