Nice for the Price
This amp replaced a Focal that died a year after its 1 year warranty expired. The Alpine is 1/4 the price, a little smaller, easier to install - and ....drumroll....I really think my system sounds better using it than the Focal Amp. (Maybe I had a bad Focal Amp- I will never know - and Focal never answered my email inquiring about my options on their just off warranty amp). I prefer the harness that plugs into the Alpine amp, rather than screwing in each individual wire (it does take a little soldiering to prep it - but once done it is nice and idiot proof). I have a Wrangler with entry level Focal speakers (that's why I originally went with the Focal compact amp) 40 RMS in front and 60 RMS in the rear (near perfect match for this amp's power). They sound awesome using the Alpine amp - a big improvement over the Focal - and I do not know why. I read another review about limited room to mount an amp in a Wrangler - which is correct. Compact amps (Focal/Alpine/Rockford Fosgate) will fit easily on the wall to the left of the clutch pedal - and all your speaker wire from the sound bar comes out at spot anyway. And although I am upset that my expensive Focal amp died so quickly and that Focal did not answer my email about it, Focal speakers (even these entry level ones) are the best speakers I have ever put into my cars - and I have done this a lot).
Pros: Price, simplicity and design
Cons: Soldiering all your wires to it's plug in harness takes a little time (but once done, it is so much easier to install, uninstall and use).
