Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Only volume, up/down and numbers keypad work on my INE-957. All the other features are useless. For being a Universal Remote, it sure does work like one.

Pros: volume, up/down and numbers keypad work

Cons: all the other features are useless

the best remote ever

Too universal

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice to have a bunch of buttons, but many don't work with my Alpine stereo system. Seems like they could have made a more specific remote, rather than a universal remote that works only partially with each Alpine system.

Pros:

Cons:

It is compatable with Alpine CDE-HD149BT

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This remote is bulky. It does everything that my smaller Alpine remote does. The only extra thing that I noticed was that I can enter the SiriusXM channel, press enter, and go directly to that channel which is kind of nice. It wants to slide off of my seat which my other one did not. It does come with a small mount for your dash or someplace hard. I may end up doing that to keep it in place.

Pros: Switch SiriusXM stations instantly.

Cons: Bulky, slides off of fabric seats instantly.

not real happy

bought this to remote the alpine ine-s920hd,which states it is compatable with....well guess what, it only works for the radio and dvd video...NOT the navigation! as I don't watch movies on this unit, I wasted my money and should have bought the smaller cheaper remote....

Works WAAAY better than any OEM remote. Much more ergonomically correct. Has lighting for the keys. Controls all functions like it is supposed to. I recommend it to anyone considering.

Great remote but no iPod control - [iDA-X001]

Eric from Connecticut on 6/25/2008

While this remote works very well, and has many features, I was disappointed to find that this remote will not allow for iPod control (other than next/previous track) on my IDA-X001 head unit. At first I thought I was doing something wrong, but a quick call to Alpine tech support confirmed that this functionality is not available, in any remote. I'm going to keep it instead of going with the lesser model, because it allows for direct-entry of numbers, which should help when I get the satellite tuner.

Outstanding remote

Troglodyte from Albuquerque... for now on 5/28/2007

I purchased this remote to control my IVA-D310 and Blackbird with DOK. While many onscreen controls will take precedence, such as searching out a destination for the Blackbird, this remote enables so many different convienence items that I'm not sure how I accomplished the same thing before.

For example, while using the navigation, it is no longer necessary to flip the screens to DVD or Radio to control those items, just a quick press and you're done. Also, having the navigation quick-buttons readily available keeps your eyes on the road. Zoom the Blackbird from 500ft to 300 miles in just a couple seconds instead of having to use the touchscreen. Save time and cleaning the screen (for you obsessive types). Once your fingers memorize the layout and button locations things become incredibly easy. You will absolutely not regret this purchase, even if you're only using it for a receiver instead of several items.

Outstanding

I also purchased this remote to control my IVA-D300 unit, this remote is amazing, it will let you control nearly every alpine headunit, TV tuner and more with style. Any function, you name it this one has it. Also you can light up the buttons with a single press and comes with a holder. For a replacement or not you will be more than satisfied.
