Alpine Processor Controller

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Alpine PXAH800 Processor is an amazing hookup! I installed this in a 2013 Nissan Altima, with a JL W6 sub, Alpine PDX V9 amp and Infinity Kappa Speakers. Very rich sound, with the pxa controller I can have immediate access to all sound settings to transform the car into a power house without losing my factory stereo. The only Hiccup I ran into was that the PXA software wouldn't run on a 64 bit PC , I wasn't told this before hand and it took several twitter posts to get a response from Alpine, but there is now an update so that a 64 bit PC will work! The amp is rated at 100x4 and 500x1. When the amp arrived its birth sheet showed a wattage of 133x4 and 566x1. I'm very pleased with Alpine Products and crutchfields tech support. I originally got 2 focal 10s and upon hearing the JL, I decided to stick with it and Crutchfield was very good about taking the focal a back. I would defiantly buy from crutchfield again. Next item on list is a new car battery to fix the headlights from dimming.

Pros: Easy install, can be mounted anywhere or placed in glovebox allowing you to maintain factory look

Cons: Software with PXAH800

No it only works with pax-h800 processor. [ STEPFONZA K  Jul 21, 2016 ]
Yes you can make all adjustments from the controller. There is supposed to be a software update available, but I haven't updated mines yet, I'm using vista, I vary seldom hookup to my laptop so it's not an issue. As for as imprint functions I just used it once to establish a baseline for the sound signature of my vehicle, I used that to create my own tuning parameters that I stored in the 6 presets. [ STEPFONZA K  May 01, 2016 ]
Thanks Guys......pls tell is it possible to play the 5.1 songs through alpine using media player or cant?if any other set up means pls guide me..... [ Malar  Apr 24, 2014 ]
you must understand that the h800 does not decode a source signal. the "multimedia player" must provide a signal decoded into 5.1 channels to the h800 the pxa-h800 takes these decoded signals from a multimedia player (like my ina-w900bt), does its processing magic ( configuration, equalization, crossovers, timing, and signal strength of each) and forwards each of the 5.1 processed decoded channels to a discrete amplifier channel. The amplified channel is sent to the speakers. you cannot send an encoded bitstream to the h800 and expect the h800 to decode the bitstream into discrete signals for each channel. please download the owners manual for the unit in pdf format from the crutchfield website for study. it takes a few times of review to understand what the instructions are trying to say, but you will find that it can answer all of your questions in detail. I found it easiest to print out the manual for review and notation. [ Claude  Apr 23, 2014 ]
Hi Malar. Yes, the PXA-0H800 will play "true" 5.1 if you have the right equipment. Yes, it will play your 5.1 music in 5.1. This is the Alpine's biggest advantage over other DSPs. However, I do not know if it will play from a hard disk unless your hard disk is integrated into your media player. But, I am 100 percent sure you can transfer your music from a hard disk and onto a USB drive or iPod. About the optical? I'm not sure. My build is all RCAs, but they are there for a reason! Contact Alpine tech support and they can confirm. [ MARQUES  Apr 23, 2014 ]
Absolutely, I have this same setup in my altima, mainly because I wanted superb sound without losing my stock stereo. There are multiple options for this setup and hookup. I'm actually considering removing my stereo now and adding an iPad for my dash setup running sound out the headphone jack to the alpine pxa h800 [ DOYLE  Apr 23, 2014 ]
