The RUX-KNOB remote level controller works with Alpine's mono subwoofer amplifiers so you can manage your bass level from the front of your vehicle. The RUX-KNOB adjusts your amp's level from its set maximum volume all the way down to virtually "off." Since it adjusts level and not "bass boost," you'll maintain the same bass tone as you turn the volume up and down. You can control multiple amplifiers with a single remote by adding a standard phone cable splitter (not included).
Note: Sorry, Crutchfield cannot ship Alpine products to Guam or Puerto Rico.

Cool additional feature to add if your system doesn't already have it.
Knob works fine, Although in my situation I always leave it on max.
The Rux-Knob made it easier to control the bass level at an arms reach. Useful especially when you listen to different genres and others require more bass than others, depending on your preference but you have that control. Very issue to install and need to use the phone cable that it comes with.
I listen to many different styles of music from different sources and it would have been frustrating without the ability to fine tune the bass levels as the music changed. I was able to mount in a compartment to keep the look clean. It made my sub a great addition to my system.
Pros: Small enough to locate discreetly. Easy to use.
Very cool product! It works great and is fun to be able to adjust the level especially at low volumes.
Pros: Compact, easy to set up and use.
Being able to control your subwoofer with the turn of a knob is a must, and soo very nice! The ease of access this product provides is ooo so very nice! Once you get your subs adjusted on your amp where you want them, then you can use the bass knob to turn off the subs or turn them up mid way or all the way.
Pros: Super easy to use. Easy to install. Plenty of cable to install anywhere in vehicle.
Cons: Cant think of any at all!
Great product to adjust bass on Alpine PDR-V75 amp. Some music requires more bass than others so this little guy is nice to have at your finger tips. I installed it in the ash tray of my F-150 which is a very convenient place for me.
Pros: Works great! Nice small size - could put it just about anywhere.
Cons: This product should already be included with expensive Alpine amps. Should have a white dot on the knob to know where adjustment is currently set at.
kewlest little knob that allows you to change up the amount of bass in an instant. well worth running the extra wire and easy access location.
Pros: one and done turn at your fingertips. great when changing music genre without alot of hooplah.
Cons: the threaded post below the knob should be a hair longer allowing easier custom mounting through automotive trim panels.
I purchased the Alpine MRV-M500 and didn't order this with it. I ordered it later due to the fact that some songs had too much bass and some nowhere near enough. If you have or are ordering an Alpine sub amp, you must purchase this.
Pros: Great for adjusting bass as needed from the "cockpit"
Cons: Alpine should include this with the amplifier.
A pretty convenient little device. Makes adjust the bass level a breeze, as other people have complained it wouldn't hurt for it to have a little indicating dot on the knob but certainly not a big deal. The adjustment wasn't quite as fine as I was hoping, it goes from nearly no bass to a lot of bass with very little turning, so it takes a couple extra seconds to perfectly dial in the bass level. Overall a great product, and works as advertised.
Pros: Easy to install, easy to use, works goos
Cons: No indicating dot on knob, takes a few seconds to dial in the perfect bass level when making fine adjustments.
A must have with the Alpine PDX-M6
Pros: Adjust gain from 0 to Max
Perfect for adjusting bass level on different songs.
Pros: Easy install
Cons: Shaft too short if trying to mount in dash or console.
A must have! Installation is a breeze. You can adjust the bass on the fly!
Pros: Adjust bass from 0-15 with ease.
This knob is perfect. I use it with my PDR-V75 which the 5th channel is hoooked up to the 8" Kicker 40CWD82. This setup is in my 2013 Dodge Dart and I have it right below the center console. The length on this is perfect to reach the amp in the trunk and then some. Also with having to take off a cover for that amp everytime you want to adjust gains and crossovers it makes is much easier having the knob.
Pros: - A must need for an amplifier that is difficult to get to the controls. Instantly if the bass is hitting to hard or not hard enough you can adjust right on the fly.
Cons: - Only con is that there should be some sort of reference white dot on the knob so you know where it is set. This can easily be fixed with some white paint, I even put on white glow in the dark paint over top of a white dot so it could show at night.
This little baby is a real help when you're trying to tune that sub output from the pilot or co-pilot position.
Pros: Easy to install and use.
Cons: Should come with the amps.
Really cool control the volume of your bass amp nothing else.
Pros: Zero volume up to full volume.
This is a must if you have big bass
I Love this and others just like it for control over the bass volume from drivers seat. Others wish the knob had an indicator. Simple put the knob to (0) And with a small paint brush--make a dot with white paint ; Hope that helps
Pros: Awesome Control of bass output from the seat of my 2007 Acura TL Type-S
This bass knob works well can mount just about everywhere and the biggest thumbs up is that if ur like me and running two subwoofer amps from alpine u can control them both with just this one knob very convenient!
Great Product. Easy to Install.
Great product. Exactly as expected.
Used this with a alpine mrx m55. Works very well. Came with more than enough cable and looks great. Great product and fast shipping. Thanks crutchfield
Pros: Worked as described
Great! Just like a volume knob for the bass. If you don't have one of these, the bass can actually ruin a song. This lets you remedy that.
I got this Alpine RUX-KNOB to make it easier to adjust the bass on my amplier. This product works great and is easy to install. Come with plenty of wire to hide it below cars interior. Definitely recommend.
Pros: Mount it anywhere. Easy turn dial. Small and doesn't take space at all.
works awesome, looks great , and its small
Pros: small size, works awesome
Cons: doesn't have indicator to let you quickly see where its set
Just had a major car audio upgrade. Went from factory to an Alpine system. I found myself struggling trying to get the system dialed in. Using an iPod as a primary source can have an affect on sound quality. Some tunes may need a bit more bass, and some may need less. The Rux knob solved the issue. Utilizing the Rux knob with a MRV-M500, I installed it by the center arm rest. So now making any needed adjustments are right at my fingertips. What a huge difference. I love my new Alpine system, the only downside is that I'm putting more miles on my car and going through more gas as a result of cruising around and jamming. Worth it.
Pros: Easy installation
Cons: Wish it was included with the Amp
Works like it should. Adjusts your gain level on an alpine amp to the maximum gain you have set. Could have some sort of indication of where you're at in terms of knob position, tactile click would be nice.
Pros: Adjust amp gain Plugs right in
Cons: No telling what level the knob is at
Controls the bass on my alpine amplifier. Crutchfield has the best price I could find.
Pros: Do exactly what it says.
Super easy install and now an occasional Lady Gaga song doesn't have overpowering bass compared to my 70 rock music, just a quick turn tones the sub up or down for the perfect subwoofer bass.
Pros: Easy to connect. Inexpensive, works great
Works exactly as it should. Very convenient.
Works great! I'm able to control the amount of bass to my subwoofer from the driver's seat. That's important because different sources of music require different amounts of bass.
Pros: Simple and easy to use. Inexpensive.
Using this with Alpine MRV-500. It works just fine controlling my 12' sub. Good price. No complaints.
It's a must have to control your amp.
Good product very good quality but wouldnt expect anything else from alpine.
It works great, there is just a small problem where only like the first quarter of a turn actually changes the bass and there is no real way to tell where your at on it. Other than that it works for what it's intended for and a great investment.
Pros: I can turn the bass down so I don't get pulled over or if I just want less bass(typically not the problem I'm a basshead).
Cons: Only a quarter turn really does anything.
works very well
Pros: it controls the bass well
Cons: its difficult to find the bass you want on the knob not sensitive enough
Helps with that extra needed bass for those songs that lack that you know can be there. or to control the 3rd sub. easy install.
Combined this with the MRV M500 Alpine amp. It's a must. Simple to wire. Literally Plug it In and place the knob somewhere accessible by the drivers side or head unit area. Great to adjust the bass levels. I can turn it down with the kids in the truck and crank it up on my own. I like a variety of music so you can easily adjust the bass accordingly on the go.
Pros: Easy Install, Gives flexibility to any compatible system.
This does a great job of controlling my sub level remotely. Works like it should.
Pros: Works like it should, makes it easy to fine tune bass on the fly
Cons: Wish it had more resistance when turning knob
The knob is a great addition to the MRX-V60, If you have a radio with sub channel control, turn your volume up a little and use the Knob to dial it down. This Knob is an adjustment tool, Not a magic wand. If you are looking for more bass than you have now, don't expect to get if from a resistor. Buy more power and bigger subs. Crutchfield has a great selection. This Knob is great for bass levels that vary from song to song.
Pros: Looks good, Small
I purchased this knob for the Alpine MRV-M500 that I already owned, and like the title says I was not impressed at all. I am not writing a long review on this one because there is not much to say, but you could pretty much stop the knob rotation at about 2/3 and it would be just as effective. It does work, on the lower end of the scale but unless you intend to crank your gain up that's about all your going to get from it. I set my amp gains and head unit with an oscilloscope to prevent clipping all around, when Crutchfield support told me turn my gains up to get more range from the knob, I decided to leave it at that. I have been a customer for almost 18 years, and this may be a tainted review, that I doubt will ever be seen, but this product does not live up the Alpine standard that my other Alpine products have set. The "advice" I was given was definitely not what I would have expected from a company that has never steered me wrong in the past. Turning up the gain on an amp that has been properly set, is NEVER the answer to any question EVER.
Pros: Long cable-Heavyweight design
Cons: Poor frequency response-Limited functionalityCrutchfield response on July 3, 2013 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Got this free on special. Thanks Crutchfield. That being said, its worth the retail price being able to tailor the bass for each style of music. I like a lot of different styles and now I can fine tune on the fly.
Pros: Compact, effective
Cons: Kind of vague control
Good stuff - Its nice to be able to control line-level input of the sub. Not so good stuff: There is no sense of indexing. There is no marking on the knob or dial so there is no way to tell where on the scale the level is set. The maximum loudness adjustment is based on the gain set on the sub. Once the knob is turned to where the gain is maxed, there will be no additional gain as the knob still has farther to travel. This means there is no way to tell with the turn of the knob where max actually is. Essentially, this is a very cheaply made accessory.
The bass knob is amazing! Different songs produce different types of bass and its nice to be able to control that in a split second.
Works like it should. Too bad it was not included with amp
Pros: Controls sub properly
Cons: Should come with the alpine amps!
It's a knob. turns the bass up or down. works.
Pros: turns the bass up and down
Cons: sometimes not enough gain. :)
This is a no-brainer to purchase. I have this hooked up to the Alpine MRV-M500 and I could not imagine my system without it. Simple to get the right amount of bass to each and every sone. Don't know why someone would not get this.
Pros: Easy, total control
This sub control works very well. Makes controlling the bass volume quick instead of having to press many buttons on my navigation unit to just control the sub volume which is an unnecessary driving distraction.
Pros: Great Unit
Great bass knob I love it .
Bass knob works exactly as it needs to. Installed on an Alpine PDX-V9. Only thing I wish is that someone would start making nicer looking knobs. It seems that all the manufacturers make the same looking ones with not to much thought into the "looks" of them. I have installed plenty of them and not much change in the years. Maybe an LED to display the Alpine logo would be great.
Pros: Simple to install. Does its job.
Cons: basic looking
I love it!
Knob works as described. Have it connected to MRX-V70 5-channel amp. It's an excellent control to have because I have the amp connected to my factory head unit and it doesn't have subwoofer control. The installer was even able to install it in an empty slot on my dash. It looks like it came from the factory like that.
Pros: Able to control bass when amp is connected to a factory head unit
Works just as I wanted with the amplifier. It's great to have a simple, instant control of your bass
Pros: simplicity at its best
Very nice option to adjust amount of base on the fly. Works well with my Alpine MRX-M50.
Pros: Locate where you want.
Cons: Wish it had a stock face mount to allow the knob installation to protrude thru my dash, instead of side mount. Just a thought.
Great convenient product for factory radios without subwoofer controls.

Sometimes I like a little more or less base depending on the music that is playing or even if I have a headache at the time or whatever the case may be! My older head unit doesn't have this extensive of a capability so the RUX-KNOB was a perfect recommendation by Chuck! [ Daniel Jan 25, 2017 ]

I thought the (amp I ordered yesterday) Alpine MRV-M500 came with this knob, but after researching more I discovered it did not. I ordered this today upon this discovery, as I really enjoy having this control at my fingertips. [ Travis Sep 05, 2016 ]
adjust bass for different types of music [ Hans Aug 10, 2016 ]
I was not too happy with this one, very limited range. In theory it should be a way to set the gain and raise or lower it to match your desired output. In real life using it with a mono amp for my subwoofer the last 2 thirds of the rotation did nothing. The only way I could see it function like expected would be to set your amps gain much higher then I ever would. Maybe I expected too much, maybe it offered too little, just seems a subpar offering from Alpine. [ Rob Aug 10, 2016 ]

Seems very convenient to be able to adjust the bass level without needing to have direct access to my amp, especially considering I listen to a wide variety of music, where one bass level for one genre might be too overpowering for another genre [ Chaz Feb 03, 2016 ]

The RUX-KNOB is only compatible with Alpine PDX, MRV, and MRX Series subwoofer amplifiers. We do have some remotes that work with select JL Audio amps and you can find them on our website here: http://www.crutchfield.com/g_237550/Amplifier-Processor-Remotes.html (just select JL Audio under "Brand" using the filters to the left of the page) If you have any other questions, feel free to speak with an expert Advisor via the "Contact Us" link at the top of our site. I have had mine for quite awhile now and it is still really sturdy and responsive, the design of the knob does not look like it would be able to "Free Spin". [ Matt Mar 31, 2016 ]
I had it since June of 2014 and haven't had any issues [ Jamal Mar 31, 2016 ]
I have not had any issues with this knob at all. I only use it when I entering a neighborhood or other areas where I want to limit my sub. [ Chris Mar 31, 2016 ]
A spinning knob may be simply a loose set screw. I haven't had that problem. My experience is that this adjustment makes only small changes to the sound. Not as useful as I expected. [ Lloyd Mar 31, 2016 ]
J, ive had mine well over a year while constantly constantly adjusting it with no issues whatsoever. I dont know how i would have survived without it. Im planning on buying another Alpine amp, i hope i can run a splitter to control them simultaneously. Art [ Arthur Mar 30, 2016 ]
I've had the product for about a year and a half now, and use it several times a week to make small adjustments to the bass in my truck. It is still precise and accurate after a good amount of use. [ Jaden Mar 30, 2016 ]
Am coming up on two years and haven't had a bit of trouble. Bought it because my wife can't tolerate base notes because of a dental implant. I can turn the base off and on depending if she is in the car with me. So the knob has had a lot of use and still working as new. Am well pleased with it. [ JOHN R Mar 30, 2016 ]
You need to access the subwoofer volume control on the head unit and turn it up about 3/4 to max. This will give the RUX-KNOB a larger operating range. I have installed several and had to do this each time. Good luck! [ BARRY Jan 05, 2015 ]
I have the same setup and I didn't experience this problem. Where do you have the gain set on the amp itself? Maybe that's your problem just tweak with the settings on the amp. [ JOHN K Jan 05, 2015 ]
The RUX-KNOB only acts like amp gain and can only go as high as the amp is set. The knob only realy turns down the amp. I suggest turning the amp gain up a little higher after installing knob. [ PAUL Jan 05, 2015 ]
