Item # 500SPS410 | MFR # SPS-410
The sonic specialists at Alpine optimize their SPS-410 4" speakers for great range and impressive tone definition, even at low power levels. You can connect these versatile Type-S Series speakers to your factory stereo for an immediate sonic improvement, or hook them up to a powerful aftermarket stereo or amp for increased performance.
Mineral-fortified polypropylene cones are exceptionally stiff, yet lightweight, which means they can push out accurate upper bass and deliver clear midrange. Resilient rubber surrounds help keep the woofer centered for accurate cone movement, reducing distortion. Silk dome tweeters provide warm high notes that bring out the character of the instruments and vocals. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.

Average Customer Review(s):
Great little speakers made of excellent materials.
The speakers are great as expected, and the Crutchfield vehicle specific installation instructions caused me to spend a total of about 10 minutes on installation. Everything fit as expected and functions as it should. I doubt I will ever purchase anything vehicle audio related from anyone other than Crutchfield.
Pros: Easy installation Right price Great customer service
Cons: Wish I could have fit speakers that would move air, but limited by the wrangler
Great set of speakers, perfect fit and great sound
Pros: Great sound and quality, great price. Easy install
Fits a 2007 BMW X 3 even though the fit guide does not say so. Requires a washer on the 3rd of 3 car mounting bolts as the speaker has 4 mount points. Also requires the car wiring to be cut as no kit is available, though Crutchfield was able to identify the positive and negative leads - which are not obvious on the Bimmer. Sounds good given the door location.
Pros: Sounds good. Easy to install in spite of not coming with an installation kit.
Cons: No installation kit, but still great tech support from Crutchfield.
Awesome sound. Fit perfectly, even though the fitment said it wouldn't ( don't know why that is). Just had to adjust my HPF and I could hear parts I couldn't with my old pioneer's. Love em..
Pros: Easy install, fit like a glove.
Cons: None as of now
Fit my '94 Jeep perfectly. Great sound with awesome treble.
Pros: perfect fit, nice range of sound
Good product easy to install sound good
rated middle of the road....can't really say if bad or good. bought due to name and recommendation for oem replacement. but, they are a rated 4 ohm speaker with a thirst for 45 watts. speakers i took out of the car, oem. are marked 2 ohm, think system is 30-35 watts. was told the improved sensitivity would make up the difference. cannot even hear these unless volume up almost all the way. did end up using the mounting plates for a pair of jbl, with higher sensitivity and a supposed 2 ohm rating. to be fair they are listed as 2-4 ohm, don't see how they can be both but did read where buyers have tested and got a 2 ohm reading, maybe they are really a 3. at any rate, i can hear the jbl speakers, and they do what i wanted the alpines to do, bring in the clearer mids. still have to push them to compete with the rear powered 6x9s, but i get double the sound out of them. would of had to drill to mount without the plates from the alpines, but bottom line, the alpines were the wrong recommendation. crutchfield has the jbl, i got them elsewhere. the alpines will probably go up on ebay, for a loss.
Pros: could not tell.
Cons: poor match for gm oem monsoon. wrong ohm rating and higher wattage results in weak output.
Sounds AWESOME!!!! Replaced the original with these Alpines...what a difference. Clarity is unbelievable for the price. My second set of Alpine speakers on my second Runner.
Pros: Just plain AWESOME!!!
Great clear sound. Great for an oem replacement without running an amp.
Pros: Clear sound.
Cons: Bass is a little low but with a sub on the way there is no problem.
Very crisp highs and great midrange from these speakers. Driven off the front speaker connection of an Alpine ILX-007.
Pros: Will fit in the dash location of a 2006 Scion xB with slight alteration.
Cons: A little bit pricey.
These speakers are exactly what I was looking for. I don't know much about ranges and all that stuff, but I will say I'm hearing insturments I've never heard in music I have had for a long time. I find myself in my pickup just sitting there looking up songs and watching YouTube videos just because the sound quality is so enjoyable. These speakers were hooked up to a Sony MEX-N5100BT deck.
Pros: Clear, crisp, sharp. Install was easier then deciding where to eat dinner. Great look. Website photos are dead on.
Cons: Well, Not really great on bass but would you expect from some 4in. I plan on getting a swoofer soon.
Installed these as replacement dash speakers in and 2003 Porsche Boxster. After cutting down the original mounting bracket these popped right into place. The adapter plug that came free with them made the connection to original wiring literally a "snap". Great speaker that brought real fidelity back into the car!
Pros: Ready adaptability to original speaker installation.
Good product over all they work and very well built small but very powerful!
Pros: Well built Quality sound Good bass Powerful
Cons: Didn't fit exactly in my '92 but I mad em work no drilling just a little taller than expected and a little deeper
Great sounding speaker with great clarity and nice mid range.
Pros: easy to install.
Amazing speaker for it's size. I was locked into a 4" speaker and needed something with reasonable overall performance. This speaker delivers great highs as expected but also good mids and some bass.
Pros: Much beter than expected overall sound and volume from a 4" speaker.
Cons: Would be nice if it came with grills if you need them.
I give them a thumbs up great little speakers
Excellent speakers. The provided platforms made installation easy to do.
Pros: Good sounding small speaker.
Cons: No grill
What I needed was a high quality set of speakers that reproduce classical music at a moderate volume setting. These speakers do very well on most of the range of sound. There is no way these little speakers can reproduce the sound of very low pipe organ sounds, yet they do provide a very elegant sound on most classical music sounds. They were easy to install. Old speakers had only two corner mounting screws, and the new speakers have 4 corners. One corner tab will need to be removed on each speaker so they will fit,
Pros: The speaker wire adapter connection worked very well. Very high quality of sound provided by these speakers.
Cons: I needed to nip off one corner mount on each speaker for this install on a Toyota truck 1986 with speakers under the dash on left and right sides.
Very good quality
Pros: Easy to install , crisp sound
Nice crisp clean sound. Exactly what I would expect from an Alpine product.
Pros: Mounting template right on the packaging. Plenty of screws and baseplates included if you need them.
Cons: No grille covers - but I didn't need them.
BOUGHT THESE TO INSTALL IN THE SIDES OF MY CONCOLE WITH A 200WT. AMP KICKER. AWSOME SOUND ---LOUD--CLEAR. EXCELLENT SPEAKER FOR THE PRICE [ NOT JUNK OR SECOND RATE].
Pros: ALL PROS !!!
Cons: ONLY CON I COULD FIND IS THEY DON'T COME WITH COVERS --- IF YOU WOULD WANT TO INSTALL THEM ON THE OUTSIDE .
Excellent speakers-exactly the sound I was looking for..
Pros: the whole unit
These speakers brought me everything I wanted. I own a FJ Cruiser and initially they did not fit in the speaker holes in the dash. But with a little custom work I got them to fit perfectly and it was well worth the effort. The stock speakers were tiny little tweeter like speakers and replacing them with these was a step in the right direction. I also bought another set that I am going to be installing in the rear openings on my Cruiser. Haven't gotten around to this yet but can't wait to get more sound behind me to match my subs already installed.
Pros: Clear Precise Loud
Got these for my husband for Christmas for his beloved '91 4-Runner. He installed 4 speakers and a JVC stereo in about 2 hours. My product advisor at Crutchfield was excellent. I would have to say my experience with Crutchfield was the best on-line experience I've ever had.
Pros: Quality. Price. Easy installation.
I've always associated Alpine with quality. These little speakers did not disappoint, they sound great for a front set of speakers.
Pros: Good quality, nice highs
Cons: Not an exact fit as stated in the guide.
I bought these to replace Mercedes factory speakers in my daughter's W124 300D. We've owned this car since new and the sound system has always been a big disappointment. I should have bought these a decade ago. These were used to replace the factory 4" rear units as well as the the factory 5" front units. The ears on the speakers had to be trimmed using a small cutoff wheel on a Dremel tool in order to make things fit in dash pockets..... but they work perfectly and look like factory... reused factory grills without an issue. I would buy again without hesitation.
Pros: Very nice quality sound for the money. Tonal range is vastly superior to factory Mercedes speakers at about 1/5 the price. Minor tweaks to the mounting ears so that they would fit into the Mercedes speaker factory mounts. I used these to replace the factory 5" front units as well as the factory 4" rear units and they all sound superior to what Benz supplied from the factory.
Cons: No complaints.... would buy again!
This is the simple solution for us restoration car nuts. Crutchfield recommended these as a direct replacement for all four 4" stock location speakers. Bolt right in, can use stock grills so no mods needed. They sound surprisingly rich, Quite a bargain for me. I'm very satisfied.
Pros: direct replacement for my stock speakers, easy to install, sound great/.
Cons: Bargain price, but now I want to upgrade further.
After having no luck locally finding anyone with speakers that would fit my car or someone to install them I called Crutchfield. They suggested what to buy and how to install them. Guess what, they were a cinch to install and sound great.
Great sounding speaker.very clear
Pros: Clean sound
Fits in 2002 boxster with minir adjustments.
Waaay better than stock speakers.
Pros: Fairly easy install
AUDI OWNERS BEWARE I Bought these to replace the blown factory speakers in my front doors. The factory ones were 41/2 not 4 and there was no way to mount it with what I was given. I had to go to a audio shop to have them installed by gutting the old speaker and putting the new one in it. Other then that great speakers.
Hey, what can I say, these are Alpines! Legendary Alpine clarity with rich deep lows, great mid range, and infinite highs. These SPS 410s are being used as front speakers in a SAAB 9000 Aero Hatchback. The stereo is simple, a Clarion NZ 500 , two 4" Alpines in the front, two 6" Alpines in the back, a 150 watt Fosgate amp powering a 10" Pioneer sub in the hatch. Not overly complicated but sounds tons better than the factory Bose in my CTS, and Lexus systems. Loud and clear all the way up to max.
Music to my ears, not a bunch of squakin' like my wife.
Pros: Loud little buggars.
Cons: Balancing these puppies is tough, like just enough tequila in city girl.
Great for 4" speakers. Not much bass but that is expected with this small of speakers. Recommend if you plan to use a sub with them.
Pros: Nice clear highs
Cons: Not much bass
Great little speakers! Good tone in a small package,
These little units fit perfectly in my factory location. They have great mid range accompanied with crisp clear highs. I will be building on these by adding 8" under the seat to give a full range sound.
Pros: Price. Fit. Quality.
great sounding speakers
Used these to replace my worn out OEM rear speakers, on my 93 Toyota, which utilizes Toyota's own speaker boxes with built in amps in the rear on the extracab truck. These fit perfectly with out any modifications and sound great.
Pros: Easy install
I installed these speakers in our motor home, big improvement from the original speakers.
Pros: Great sound quality from such small speakers
Very nice sound, clear and good range.
Pros: All good
I replaced the factory speakers on my 1999 Porsche 996, both dash and backseat panels, with Alpine SPS-410's. The sound quality was vastly improved and much better than when the vehicle was new. Improvements in the bass was most noticeable but the high ends were clearer and crisper. A great improvement which allowed me to use the original speaker grills.
Pros: Improved bass and high end. Fits in the existing enclosures and allows use of the Porsche speaker grills.
Cons: Minor modifications required to attach the speakers to the grills.
Great sounding speakers. Crutchfield said that they would not fit in my car, but after talking to the helpful reps, they allowed me to purchase the speakers and attempt a custom install. With a little modification, they fit flawlessly.
Pros: - Sound great. - They are Alpines!
Cons: - Lack bass (expected because you should have a sub system with these)
Great speakers for the price. They are very heavy for there size.
Pros: Very clear, handle power pretty well, very loud
Wonderful upgrade to existing back hatch speakers. Crutchfied was incorrect though. It said they would not fit my vehicle, but with a little cutting of the plastic trim panels, these fit right in the factory location.
After searching for speakers to replace my cracked speaker in dashboard of my 88 Toyota truck. I chose Alpine. There were only a couple that would fit in the factory holes in the dash.Quick and easy install and the sound is great. The radio/disk player is Blaupunkt no amp needed.all around great sound
Pros: Would recommend
a great alpine prouduct
Order product. Receive product on time. Receive product with Crutchfield-supplied mating connectors for my vehicle. Install product in less than 25 minutes. Product works as advertised. Product better than OEM speakers. Customer delighted. How boring.....
Pros: Perfect fit and mating connectors; above average sound quality, Crutchfield Service
Cons: Crutchfield a bit pricey, and did I mention boring? THANK YOU CRUTCHFIELD for making it so easy
Great upgrade for my '07 X3!
These speakers are clean and crisp. Very good range for a 4" speaker. Radical improvement from the original speakers.. they sound even better with an increase in the volumn.
Pros: No problems.. good instruction came with the speakers
Cons: No cons
I used these in the stock Rubicon 7 speaker system. Removed the tweeter and woofer from the pods in the dash and sound way better than any 5 1/4 you would stuff in there without an enclosure. These are much nicer sounding and less distorted. The mids are there too. Dont expect bass but they do breakup less than the 5 1/4 with plates mounted in the same location. The stock speakers have bass blockers stock inside the enclosure cut the green and black wires off the stock speaker and solder the new alpines into the bass blocker wires, green is NEG and black is POS. Not to be confused with the plug wires in the dash, they are black red/brown LEFT and Violet/Blue on he Right. I am talking about the wires in the 7 speaker system Pods. Get these for the Wrangler! I got a great deal on these. They are a steal!
We bought these to replace the original rear speakers in my wife's 1984 Porsche 911. The original sound system had never worked well. We put a new Kenwood HD receiver in dash and a set of the Alpine SPS-510s in the door. What a difference. You can actually hear the music even with the top down. For less than $300 we put a great sounding system into her car. Very clear and sharp sound. Since the car is a convertable we didn't want to go overboard with the system since weather and theft are much more of a problem in a drop top. Very satisfied with the product and the service we received from Crutchfield.
I installed these in the rear doors off my Subaru along with the 6-3/4" component system and Alpine deck and they sound great. Everybody knows you can't expect much bass from a 4" speaker but these little dudes keep you rockin' down the highway with good sound and they are very inexpensive!
I bought these speakers to replace the dash speakers on my 2003 Jeep TJ, and all I can say is that these speaker give a great sound despite their small size. Any genre of music sounds very good through them and comes through crisp and clear.

no they are not waterproof you would be better off going with a marine style speaker for motorcycle application. :-) [ ANTHONY RYAN Apr 29, 2014 ]
They are not Marine Grade. I've got a Harley & I'd go with something else if you do ride in downpours... They sound great in my girl's Subaru, though.[ PAUL Apr 26, 2014 ]
Mike, I use these in two different applications. The sound bar of my jeep and in my boat. They are constantly exposed to indirect moisture and perform flawless. I think the motorcycle application would no different from a boat. Thumbs up and enjoy. Crutchfield does an amazing job of sales and service after the sale.[ WILLIAM S Apr 26, 2014 ]
I installed these on my off road toyota, theydont say water proof but I havent had a problem with them and water[ BRANDON Apr 26, 2014 ]
