You can connect these versatile Type-S Series speakers to your factory stereo for an immediate sonic improvement, or hook them up to a powerful aftermarket stereo or amp for increased performance.

Mineral-fortified polypropylene cones are exceptionally stiff, yet lightweight, which means they can push out accurate bass and deliver clear midrange. Resilient rubber surrounds help keep the woofer centered for accurate cone movement, reducing distortion. Silk dome midrange drivers and tweeters bring out all the fullness and detail in your music. Grilles are not included — factory grilles are appropriate for most installations.

Alpine type s 6x9

kevin from fort worth, tx on 11/3/2017

2011 Nissan Xterra

Great sound, very loud when amped. i have an alpine kt445u headunit power pack 4 channel amp 45w rms each channel on these and they are loud much louder than they look. but they still have great fidelity and range. Crutchfield states these wont fit the front doors of a 2005-2015 nissan xterra. They fit fine in mine. Tons of clearance, the speaker basket is huge and deep and could easily hold another speaker between this one and the door. That's how much clearance it has. The only thing i could see them saying wont fit is the tweeter/midrange that stick up. They sit close to the grill in the door panel but more than clear it just fine. I have been an alpine and specifically a type s door speaker fan for years. Now having every size from 5.25" to these 6x9s in various cars, these are the best sounding speakers. If you dont like ear piercing tweeters and accurate frequency reproduction, the soft material of the tweeters gives them a rich lifelike sound unlike some infinity speakers and many with metal tweeters. these 6x9s have a large 1" soft "midrange " (its a tweeter for upper mids and lower high notes) and a 3/8" harder super tweeter so these play fairly bright and have a higher pitch than their 2 way counterparts in the other sizes but still not ear piercing. Its a good balance, get these and you wont be disappointed

Pros: Loud, nice rich sound, accurate frequency production

Cons: not much, the basket is plastic not metal, but these speakers are sturdy and i havent had one with a plastic basket give me any issues

Excellent speaker for Ram trucks.

Charles from Austin,TX. on 5/11/2017

Perfect fit in all four doors of a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The speakers include a 1/4 spacer so additional spacers are not required, as all the blogs like to report. The speakers are great sounding, even with the factory head. Will really shine with a little amp. Loving them. Add a pair of 10's under the back seat and you will be set for life. :)

Pros: Great fit, great sound, super efficient.

Cons: Maybe a little pricey.

2013 MINI Roadster
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These work great as the rear speakers in a Mini Cooper Roadster. The factory deck isn't powerful enough to activate the full prowess, but with 50W per channel flowing through these babies, the sound is wonderful!

Pros: Easy to install. Great build quality. Great range of sound.

Cons: None, really. Just don't expect your factory deck to be able to access the full range of sound. With 50W flowing through each speaker, they sound amazing!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speakers sound nice. I'm running an Alpine 4 channel amp to them. I can hear all the instruments, the highs and mids sound nice.

Pros: Nice, loud clear sound.

Cons: The grilles have to be purchased separately.

Great sound!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I finished out my Alpine BT replacement head unit with these speakers. Why did I wait so long? Some modification of the rear panels was needed but still installed both speakers in less than a hour. Great 3 way speaker.

Pros: Crisp, clean sound with no distortion at high volume.

Amazing !

One year in

TL from Charlotte,NC on 6/12/2015

After a year of having two of these in the front doors in my 4Runner, plus two Alpine tweeters in the dash, two Polk three ways in the back doors all powered by a Kenwood head and amp, with a 10" sub and two more Alpines in the tailgate powered by an Alpine amp, I can say that I have achieved my goal of feeling like I on tenth row center at a live Phish show.

Pros: Clarity and value.

Cons: None

Best bump for your hard earned lump !

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the second time purchasing a set of the 6x9's Alpine Type-S speakers. Till this day I still believe for the money you are getting the best value in clarity of MIDs and highs followed by nice tight responsive bass if you wish from even just from your 60 watt head unit alone. They may even sound a little better if cleaned up by a small 4 channel amp, but that will be your own personal ears preference and taste if you even feel you needed it. I personally am fine with out a amp for my loud satisfactory needs while in traffic blowing off stress.

Pros: Best bang for your buck in quality and sound !

Cons: Not needed depending on your head unit, but .. a small 4 channel amp may take these to their full potential if you feel the need.

great product

Awesome 6x9's

Austin from Arizona on 1/27/2014

I purchased these speakers about 6 months ago and immediately ripped my door pannels off and replaced the stock speakers with these. Only 2 things come to mind with these speakers: crisp and clear. Not to mention they help with my digital design 12" subs in bringing the ear bleeding. I plan on buying more in the future!

Put them in my dad's 96 Caprice wagon and they sound great. Had to replace the worn out factory ones and I'll always trust alpine.

Good speakers at a fair price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Pretty decent speaker for the money. If it was any more expensive I would give it 4 stars. The low end could be a bit better - but it is not bad. I installed these in the doors of a FJ Cruiser driving them off of an Alpine W927HD head unit.

nate d from san antonio, TX on 9/4/2012

great speakers!! they sound crisp and clean and the bass is great! Highly recommend

Pros: great sound

real nice

matt k. from kansas city on 5/29/2012

i have them in my 91 cutlass in the rear deck hooked into my amp and they rock like you wouldn,t believe i highly recomend these speakers to any one

these sound REAL good

matt k from cape cod MA on 2/25/2012

ive had these for a little while and once they break in these speakers do punch pretty hard in terms of tighter accurate bass. The best part is the mids and highs. a good eq will help make the bass boomier if thats what you want but the overall sonic range of these is pretty damn good. i use an alpine head unit without an amp, and they sound real good, they are bottom mounted on the rear deck in a 79 camaro which makes the bass response waaaay better than what it would be if i didnt use the trunk as an enclosure (these were in a volvo mid door panel mounted). your gonna need a sub with these if you want bigger bass and with an amp driving them they do get LOUD but no distortion ever. SO FAR no problems other than the kinda cheesy factory connecters they come with. ive hammered these pretty good but you need to let them "break in" for a bit before you play em loud.

Pros: mid and highs sound real good, durable, well made.

Cons: factory connectors may come off under heavy bass, solder em on no biggie price is kinda steep, they do need a little "break in time"

It looks like the Alpine speakers will be too tall to fit under your factory speaker grilles. If you are willing to modify the door panel/speaker grille - then you can probably get them to fit. [ Jeff  Apr 21, 2014 ]  Staff
It looks like there are issues with both the depth available in the door, and the distance available under the factory grill for the tweeter. For full details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Jeff  Mar 24, 2014 ]  Staff
