Perfection for the perfectionist
Great subwoofer. This sub takes a while to break in but when it does it sounds amazing. Make sure to either build a box to spec or buy one made specifically for alpine as there are a few company's that are alpine approved. I originally had this in a standard box from a chain store and hated how it performed. I did some research and ditched the cookie cutter box and spent a month designing and building a box specific for this subwoofer and it has blown me away ever since. It has amazing control is extremely clean and has the ability to be punchy and then the low- set off car alarms/make your ears itch bone shaking rumble kinda bass. I listen to everything and this doesnt have a problem with any genre. I have owned and still own multiple subwoofers (collecting dust now) from high end to the cheapest you can find and have never had one that has the versatility that this alpine offers. I know this isn't the best alpine has to offer or the best in the world but I've spent tens of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours on equipment through out my life because it was never good enough. since purchasing this over a year ago ive had no reason or want to change anything about my setup. I can't stress enough how important having the right box is. Close enough is not good enough. (At least for my ears) until this falls apart it will have a spot in my trunk. Even then it will be replaced by the same model because it's that good.
Pros: Accurate, versatile. If you like punchy it does punchy if you like rumbling feel it in your chest type bass it does that just as well
Cons: Long break in for impatient ppl like myself and box specific
