Use the Alpine TuneIt App to get your sound just right

Your sound, your way

The Alpine TuneIt App gives you the ability to fine-tune your car's sound. Just download the free app onto your iPhone or Android smartphone and create a profile including your car and sound system information. The app will help you your adjust the receiver's 9-band parametric EQ, frequency filters, Media Xpander, and other sound settings for your specific vehicle, or you can use the settings already created for your car in Alpine's ever-growing vehicle database. Better yet, you can visit Facebook and check out settings created by other users.

If you're into bass, you can use Bass Engine SQ tuning to optimize your car's bass performance, and customize its five bass profiles with the TuneIt App. If you're planning on adding an amp or two to your system, the UTE-52BT features three sets of 2-volt preamp outputs, so you have plenty of options. You can make further adjustments by updating your TuneIt App profile settings.

Everything you need

With the handy front USB port, you can plug in a flash drive that you've loaded up with music, or connect your iPod® or iPhone to listen to music. You can also connect a portable MP3 player or other sound source to the front auxiliary input.

The UTE-52BT works with SiriusXM's SXV300 tuner (sold separately), making it easy to tune into satellite radio's in-depth music, news, and entertainment  programming wherever you drive.

Peter from Eureka, CA on 1/16/2017

    2005 Toyota Tacoma
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this unit because I liked an older model that is installed in my wife's car. I didn't want anything fancy and appreciated the simple interface that wasn't to complicated. Unfortunately, what I have is more complicated and less intuitive. This unit is not as straightforward as hers. There are more buttons, cramping up an already limited faceplate while doing little to improve on a budget stereo. I won't go into all my gripes about what I don't like, as they are too specific to what I would have preferred. I think I could live with a less than optimal user interface if there weren't glitches that affect the performance. Specifically, I have a problem with bluetooth dropping out after using voice commands to send/reply to texts. It's a crapshoot whether the audio I was streaming prior to the text reply will resume. The display will show no unit is connected and I have to cycle through the source inputs to reconnect, which is tedious and distracting. Its bad enough that if I could disable receiving text notifications while driving I would. With all that said, I don't think this is a bad unit. I just think the limitations of BT are something that haven't been overcome yet. I can live with it and will adapt to using it accordingly to minimize frustration, i.e. just ignore notifications while driving.

Pros: Affordable Good sound USB port on faceplate

Cons: Confusing buttons BT connectivity subpar Important buttons are placed to the right of the volume knob, making it harder to interact with the stereo. Why is the bass button so prominent? I think for most people using this unit, they will set their preferences and forget about them. This thing gets prime real estate like you will need to use it often. App for phone is of minimal value.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

nice product I'm always satisfied with Alpine quality and sound. The reason I chose to review this item was to let someone who has never purchased from Crutchfield or Crutchfield outlet know that the products , new or refurbished are always in my experience, first rate. And if ever I have had an issue with something the customer service team is there to help. You just can't beat this company for good products and service. I learned how to build audio systems using the resource material found here even before the days of internet. I've been a customer since 1984 and will continue to be for as long as I have this audio addiction. Thanks Crutchfield keep up the good work.

    Hot *Alpine* Mess

    2004 Toyota 4Runner
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Worked great for six months... then the right pre-amp output quit. Crutchfield was unable to assist other than to provide an address to send the unit to Alpine for repair. Not counting shipping time it can take up to a month and half for a repair so it looks like I'll be driving around with a hole in my dash for the next couple of months! At one time Alpine was considered a high end product, I've since replaced their component speakers (very tinny, metallic tweeters) with Polk and their 4x50 amp with a JL. My opinion; they're simply overpriced junk manufactured cheaply. I'm not an audio freak, just wanted a good brand that made quality equipment. Read: Alpine is going downhill Tim from Ft. Collins, CO on 3/4/2014 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe -- Sounds like Alpine is now into mass producing junk.

This stereo is far easier (simple is best) to use than the Kenwood Excelon we bought for my son. Sounds excellent with stock speakers too. Used the hands-free microphone after running and hiding the cord and it sounds excellent.

    Pros: Simplicity, sound and features.

Cons: Alpine app not so great.

Simple solution for pairing an iphone music library and hands-free phone calls. This Alpine unit works great for playing music from my phone. I was up and running with my playlists, library, and Pandora. I like the "tune-it" app which gives you a multi-band eq, really helps dial in sound specific to the vehicle. Install in my Toyota Tundra was pretty simple. The hardest part was running the microphone for the hands free calling. Love this feature. The display leaves a little to be desired but the price was just right.

I installed this unit on my HD Heritage Softail in a batwing fairing. It is packed with a bunch of very useful features that make this unit sounds extremely good over the vtwin engine noise. I had a little fun using the Alpine Tune It app to refine my audio. I am also using the ktp445a 4x45w mini amp with it. Lots of standard features and plenty of customization to meet your needs

Pros: Lots of included features, customization

Bluetooth connection is very fast, automatic, and without issues. Installation was quick and easy. Great unit to replace stock radios.

Pros: Excellent sound as expected from Alpine product. Fast Bluetooth connectivity. Easy install.

Cons: Low resolution display. But this was expected at this price-point.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Instantly improved the sound quality, and the tuning options with the app are plentiful to say the least! The only reason I gave it four stars was because it was too wide for the dash adapter. I ended up doing some modifications to make it fit, but it was a headache. This is probably more of an issue with the particular adapter for my vehicle, but at any rate it made the install take twice as long as it should have.

Pros: Amazing sound quality and tons of tuning options.

Cons: Didn't fit the dash adapter

    2004 Volvo S60
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I asked my Crutchfield advisor for a simpler to use single DIN receiver. He recommended this. It is terrible. After six months I need to tear it out. Bluetooth does not work, controls are unusable without the manual and the sound is terrible. Worst of all it continually resets itself into demo mode. I hate to complain, but I am so disappointed in this purchase. I wish I'd gone with something else.

Pros: Sadly I cannot think of any.

Cons: Small buttons. Bluetooth drops connection. Bluetooth forgets my phone. Poor sound quality. Resets into demo mode. Won't save my radio presets.

Tom L from Corcoran, MN on 7/3/2016

    2003 Dodge Dakota
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit feels like they built it without anyone actually living with it for a while. I now have and I truly hate it. I bought it specifically for use with Pandora. Sometime it even works. More often not. Phone is a Samsung GS4 so not something off the beaten path. Display is stupid. You can see one piece of information at a time. The title, the artist, etc. or even the time of day. They couldn't figure out how to show more info, or at least show a clock with the other info. Nope. One thing at a time. The buttons I need for Pandora, when it works, are some of the smallest on the unit. The general operations are largely non-intuitive, and I needed to print and keep the manual in the truck in case I need it. Also the volume knob has other functions, like picking a Pandora station, that are selected by pushing the knob. This is a truck and if I hit even a small bump when I am reaching for the volume knob, suddenly I am selecting a different Pandora station and have to find the back button to stop it from changing my station. I wish you could more easily see how these things work before you buy them. Basically, I hate this thing and wish I had never bought it.

    Pros: Cheap

Cons: Unreliable, non-intuitive, small buttons, only one thing displayed on screen at a time, no always visible clock, Pandora works less than half the time.

This is a great stereo. I have bought Alpine units before and they are great stereo. I will always purchase Alpine since they are great units.

Cons: No CD player (who even still uses CD). No extra AUX input. No iPod connection on back for connecting an I Pod.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like this unit. It works well and is easy to understand. It sounds good. My only complaint is that I did not buy a Sub to run with it. I have had Alpine equipment before and this unit, I believe, lives up to the sound quality I was used to with my previous equipment. My last Alpine unit sounded so good it was stolen.

Upgraded from stock which was a heck of a leap forward considering it's a 2004 F250. Wanted Bluetooth, iPhone connectivity, and USB playback. Who really uses CD's anymore, right? Stereo sounds great, fit well. Crutchfield send the console kit, the tools to remove stock radio, and the proper harness for free!! I can't tell you how this receiver sounds without an amp. I added the ktp-445a amp during the install and change speakers out to Alpine 517's. Sounds great, substantial upgrade. I'm happy with the purchase, but considering my start point, it would be hard not to be happy with any upgrade.

Alpine quality has gone wayyyyyy downhill. Years ago the head units felt made of quality but now (maybe it's just this unit) it feels so cheap and plasticy. It doesn't even have a rubber volume knob anymore. It feels more like a Dual brand receiver more than an Alpine.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've always really stuck with two things when buying my car audio equipment. One is Crutchfield and the other is Alpine. I've always liked both and had great experiences with them. This unit I'm sure is wonderful if the App actually worked. Not only is it really the only way you can properly access the systems EQ levels and other MX levels ext. but in the use of the App itself it has real antiquated operation platform. If you make a mistake you have to start all over again. I guess I could just never make a mistake and that would solve that one..... The accessing of the account, which I've now done, I walk through the "Tutorial" and done all the steps with no luck so far. The directions the unit comes with don't explain it well so what I'm stuck with is a poorly tuned unit

Pros: Bluetooth works great. I ran the mic next to my visor in the trim of the door/windsheild pointed at my face so when I scream at my bank they can clearly hear how much they suck. Hook up was a breeze Crutchfield's free wire harness and tool to pull out the unit is the best.

Cons: Accessing/Linking cell phone to "App", which seems it was developed in 1998, was not possible. At least so far

Not quite what I was hoping for

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have avoided Alpine since I bought one for my 2006 Subaru and discovered that even when "dimmed", the blue LED light was so bright as to interfere with my night vision. However, I returned to the brand when I started looking for a new stereo for my 1999 Miata (with Bose). The Miata has a amplifier *and* a powered antenna. Most brands now only provide a single power lead, labeled "Powered accessory". This is on at all times. Alpine still offers two leads: power acc and power ANT. Unfortunately, I made the assumption that the power ANT would only be powered when I was using the tuner function. That assumption is incorrect-it is always on. This behavior has been confirmed by Alpine tech support. Beyond that, the unit performs as expected. The sound is very good, even with my stock speakers. The Bluetooth pairing is easy and effective. The bluetooth calling is pretty poor, but I can't blame alpine for that, it's hard to make a speaker that works in the environment of a convertible. Would I buy it if I knew then what I know now? No. The display is still too bright at night and competing designs manage to take up less space behind the dash (something that would have been valuable in the MX-5). But I don't regret buying it and expect to be happy with it for years to come. Well, once I find the right smoked tint to tone down those blue buttons.

Pros: Good sound, clean packaging, easy to set up, bluetooth pairing with iOS is trivial

Cons: Power ANT lead not suitable for power extending antennas, potential for night vision interference

Overall I give this unit a 4.5. Using the install kit provided by Crutchfield made the install pretty easy. I did have to slightly modify the install kit brackets in order properly secure the unit, but not a big deal if you have a hacksaw and a drill. Unit fits nicely in the Suburban and has greatly improved the sound quality and the connectivity of my smartphone.

Pros: Great sound quality using factory speakers in a 2001 Suburban. Bluetooth, Pandora and ipod control are fairly easy Affordable and capable

Cons: Alpine unit blue lights are too bright (even when I use the manual dim feature) Too bad it can not be controlled with the dash board light dimmer. Sometimes connecting to pandora or ipod control can be a bit cumbersome, but I'm still learning the system.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First of all, the price was great for this unit for what it does. I wanted to upgrade the factory unit and most importantly, add hands free calling. The install was very easy with the included wiring harness, adapter and instructions except for routing the remote microphone cable. In a 2004 Grand Marquis the easiest route to the upper center of the windshield is up the passenger side A-Pillar. There is decent access above the glove compartment when it is open, but there was still a lot of knuckle busting and swearing before I actually got it through. The A-pillar cover is held on with clips and is easy to remove. Tucking the wire under the headliner and installing the clip/microphone to the overhead light console results in great call quality, even with the windows open. The manual is very clear on how to set the time on the unit, but nowhere could be found how to display the time. A call to tech support and the button that is to the left of the radio presets, marked with "-" allows you to toggle the time display on or off. Hello Alpine - add this to the manual... I have limited mechanical ability, but was able to accomplish this install in about an hour. Matching the colors up on the harness and crimping them to the radio took about another 15 minutes. Truly, plug and play. Overall I'm very pleased and will tackle the speakers next. Will not try the TuneIt App until the new speakers are in.

Pros: Ease of installation Excellent sound Easy bluetooth connection for music and handsfree phone calls

Cons: Manual omitted the way to display the time on the unit.

    2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced a ten year-old Alpine CDA-9857 with this unit. I've used Alpine exclusively in my vehicles since the 80's, so when I want to modernize I naturally went Alpine. This UTE-52BT has bee a great disappointment. The sound is below average, and the user interface makes the unit almost intolerable. The buttons are far too small, and during daylight hours, invisible. The switches feel cheap and flimsy, the longer ones flex so much that it is hard to get the switch to actuate. The power off switch is for some unknown reason combined with repeat, pause, and play (?) and no matter which function I want to select, another one seems to happen. The rotary encoder is far too easy to bump when trying to adjust volume, which disables its function as a volume control and makes you hit the setup button 7 times quickly to get back to volume. It says you can hold it in for 2 seconds to achieve the same goal, but I can't say that I've ever gotten that to work. The phone audio quality is just horrible, and I can't seem to convince it to answer a call no matter which button I push. It will hang up on the caller, though. The unit gives the impression that it was designed by someone with no idea that cars bump and shake and who has never actually tried to use a radio in a moving car.

Pros: Looks good Easy to install

Cons: Controls too small, too flimsy, too cluttered, too hard to read, impenetrable nested menus No effective way to cancel rotary encoder actions Requires far too much visual concentration to operate, taking attention away from driving Very poor phone audio quality. Unresponsive phone controls Muddy, stuffy, sound. Very poor spatial stage. Not up to Alpine standards Can't seem to locate song titles on USB stick Poorly written and badly organized user manual, nowhere to see all controls at on

Cons: Adjustment knob feels pretty cheap (plastic) although this is a small complaint.

Have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler with Infinity system that has been a major disappointment since I've owned it. Debated forever on features I wanted and decided on this unit because it has everything I wanted (blue tooth, Pandora, hands free calling) without the fluff of other units. I haven't owned a cd in almost 10 years so the absence of a cd player is a major plus for me. One less thing to go wrong. After a super easy install, my jeep was rocking. I couldn't believe how awesome my stock speakers sounded and my factory sub came to life. I had to read the directions to figure out some of the set up instruction, but have it down now. Fairly easy to navigate the features and such after a little practice. As good as it sounds now, I can't wait to hear it blaring away thru some upgraded speakers. Why? Because there is always something better to be had :)

Good radio, poor quality microphone clip

    Pappazippy from California on 8/10/2015

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I give the radio top rating for quality and performance. I mounted it in a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser. Easy installation overall but the microphone clip is pretty useless. It is completely made of plastic and designed to clip on a sun visor. That aside, in hot weather the clip doesn't hold its springiness and basically doesn't grip the visor after a hot day. The problem is it's designed to be used for hands free calling but the safety issue is negated because the microphone and clip falls off the visor and directly into your view of the road and other cars. It is a safety issue, and a simple redesign using a metal spring instead of plastic would solve the issue of it falling in you face while driving. To keep it out of line of sight, I resorted to hanging it on the "A" pillar trim. While that semi solved the falling off issue, it now picks up wind noise if the window is down any at all. Granted this may be unique to my particular situation, it still needs addressing.

Pros: Very good radio overall and has many really good features for a radio of this price range. I recommend it highly.

Cons: The microphone clip is pretty useless.

I initially loved this unit but since I purchased it from Crutchfield back in March 2015 it has reset to factory defaults at least 6 times. I removed it from the dash and checked all electrical connections to ensure it wasn't losing power. The problem seems to be occur when bluetooth calls are received while streaming music over bluetooth. Once the call ends it resets to factory defaults and comes up in demo mode. It's a pain in the butt to reconfigure the audio settings over-and-over again each time a reset occurs. I checked Alpine's website but there isn't a firmware release that might fix the problem. In the process of searching I see that another Crutchfield customer has also encountered the same problem. See review titled "bluetooth randomly resets whole unit. happens 3-4 tmes" by paul s, dated April 13, 2015. If this problem were addressed it would be a 4-5 star product.

With 4 different inputs (BT, USB stick, iPod, aux in) to play your digital music files, this is a huge upgrade from my old Kenwood CD player. I can play just about anything from my Android phone or any passenger with an iPhone can play his/her music. Viewable in any light which is great, the technology is really nice with the app that Alpine has usable for the head unit. Audio quality of the bluetooth hands free for calling is not very good, so I don't see myself using it much, but all-in-all it's great for the money

Pros: Great price viewable in all light good sound quality technology is cool with the tunIT app

Cons: audio for hands free is not very good bluetooth seems to really want to play files on my phone, even when I have started spotify to play. A little buggy there, but it works

This is the second one of these I have purchased and installed. No problem interfacing with either Android or Apple devices. Hands free phone reception and clarity on part with higher priced units. All of my portable music players have worked perfectly providing me with commercial free music while driving.

Pros: Price, adjustable preset volume level for each input.

Cons: Limited on display lighting options.

This deck screams "discount retail", though it has an amazing equalizer and the tuneit app is really cool. It seems like they traded that for an almost decent display. I'm alright with the 90s style alarm clock font - 90s style baby! I've had Alpines in the past and was very happy with the display, but this one is so insanely bright at night that it's almost dangerously distracting. On my dashboard it sits below the heater controls in front of the floor shift, really low and set back in the dash compared to where it would be in most trucks, yet it's still bright enough to reflect brightly across the windshield at night. I have a friend with glasses who said it would be way too annoying to drive with at night, especially on dark two lane roads with oncoming headlights. There IS a dimmer wire that could be connected, but a lot of cars don't even have an independent dimmer wire in the dash to connect it to. My old Alpines both had the dimmer on the display as an option, and weren't this bright to begin with, so I took the option for granted picking it out. It CAN be seen during the day! The equalizer with subwoofers is really cool, but if you have any type of difficulty driving at night, even remotely, do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

Pros: The equalizer options and tuneit app are really cool if you have subwoofers!

Cons: The display is dangerously bright at night.

Alpine quality sound in an affordable package. Wish the features were a little easier to navigate. Surprised the chassis is as big as it is for just a media head unit.

Cons: Chassis could have been smaller on a media-only unit. Complicated settings navigation.

I've been a fan of Alpine since the 1980's and as always this is another excellent product. It has high quality sound and enough power to rank with the best head units on the market even with the addition of an auxiliary amp. It has enough bells and whistles (i.e., Bluetooth, 3.5mm input jack, SirusXM option, Pandora, etc.) to provide a even the biggest audiophile enthusiast with a smile. Additionally, the unit has 3 pre-amp out which make it easy to add additional power.

Pros: Quality build, High quality sound, High Power wand Low Distortion, easy installation, Bluetoot, SiriusXM option, 3/5mm input jack

Cons: The only con I can think of is, I miss the option to change the headunit's display light color

I have been along time fan of alpine and this receiver is exactly why. Alpine has built a top notch Bluetooth and digital audio receiver. I put this receiver in my sons truck since all of his music comes either a pandora or Amazon music app from his iPhone 6 ( I don't think he even knows what a CD is). It sounds great through his stock 1996 speakers and also his pioneer slim sub. Installation was a breeze thanks to Crutchfield. The alpine menu is easy to set up and navigate. If you are looking for a hands free Bluetooth to talk on the phone this is just ok, you would be better off buying one of those stupid ear pieces to cram in your ear. If you are looking for a digital input music receiver this is the one to get.

Pros: Digital receiver Low pass filter High pass filter Menu

No cd s to fumble around w/ & the bt streaming is flawless even though I'm using an android phone & the deck is designed for i phones.

I bought this after being a Pioneer guy for the last 15 years. My main draw was the 9 band Parametric EQ which offers plenty of control. It also has plenty of other features that let me Taylor the sound output. I would like to see some more work on refinement to the unit however. I can't believe it's 2015 and we are still stuck with calculator like displays. The display doesn't even allow for viewing the time and station, it's one or the other. There's actually room for more to be displayed if the font size was a bit smaller and they used more areas of the display. Overall though I bought this unit more for what it does. I just wish they would put a little more into the polish of the unit.

Pros: Tons of Audio Control --9 Band Parametric EQ --No tacky features ie: flashing backlighting --Tune it App is a great feature --Higher rms power than most

Cons: --Buttons too close to one another and small --Volume Knob not linear: trying to turn the volume down quickly results in it not moving much at all. --Buttons have a cheaply clunky feel when using. --Custom tune disappears after selecting a stock one and then trying to go back to custom(need to connect to tune it app again and STOP CAR in order to get it back-annoying). --Screen technology hasn't changed since 1990 --Limited info on screen. Font size and space could be utilized better.

Build Quality I gave it 2 star because buttons are to close together, I'm old school and I think they should of kept the green lights on all alpine's to with 2-3 colors at least.

Pros: No dimmer what's going on with tech stuff? it don't cost like nothing to put a Dimmer in all radios because most of the radios are really to bright! you should make them as you like your dash lights- that's one thing I upgraded to another radio because of the features this Alpine had been lacking, the sound is great I'll give them that.

Cons: ( bass and sound settings have 2 buttons you have to go through), sent it back had trouble with it not putting out enough single to amp for the Kicker sub DVC very low but not blaming Alpine could be the harness for the car just could not figure it out so everything is coming new to see what's going on with it should had nothing to do from the output of the RCA out of the radio and have harness trouble weird, ??

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

on top of the price this unit is impressive on multiple levels from the ease of installation through the massive list of functions to the outstanding quality of the sound (I installed a small powered sub but it would stand well on its own. it has plenty enough power to fill my suv. i have not yet installed the speaker upgrades and the sound improvement is already astronomical. the user instruction could be a bit more clear though it is fairly intuitive after spending some time with it. the 9band parametric EQ is a godsend for fine tuning the sound although it sounded great before having touched it. the buttons are small and difficult to use while driving. however the inclusion of a steering wheel control adaptor voided this problem. having steering wheel controls I would recommend the adaptor in order to retain those controls. and being all digital I have cleared space not having cd's everywhere.

Pros: loads of features. minimum price. all digital. extremely easy to install. outstanding sound quality. once you learn the functions it is easy to navigate

Cons: without steering wheel controls the buttons are far too small to use while driving. instructions could be better written and more in depth (if you are not tech savvy, you may need a teen)

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Lots of equipment for the price with typical great Alpine quality. I don't use BT so no thoughts there but installs easily, has good sound and fantastic range of features. It focuses on quality sound and not on pretty (gaudy) light displays. Doesn't play CD's but CD's are almost ancient history anyway. Radio has good reception. My system is in an 02 Ford Ranger Regular Cab and it is: 4-Polk DXi571 5X7 coaxial speakers in stock locations, Sound Ordnance B-8PTD Powered Sub: (8" woofer with 125W RMS class D amp), Alpine UTE-52BT Media Player/Receiver Head Unit, Alpine KTP-445A Amp (45W RMS X 4), Dynamat in doors and on back wall of cab. This setup sounds better than great to my 61 year old ears...will never win a competition but I don't get that anyway. The sub especially adds that low end that the Polks struggle with at lower volume listening. Might add a pair of Polk tweeters to the A-pillar in the future just to raise the soundstage from the floor but the 6X9's are very good at mid to high range by themselves.

Pros: Total control of music tonal quality. Subwoofer controls are outstanding. The add-on plug and play amp is a must have addition (KTP445A). Display has two step adjustability. If what you want is a machine that plays flash drive, IPod, Pandora, has Bluetooth, and totally provides control over sound quality this is your machine.

Cons: Buttons are small and too close together...volume knob also is push selector and it's too easy to push instead of rotate. Limited text display which is inexcusable but not a deal breaker. Menu tree is a bit convoluted so it takes some playing with to get used to...this is an Alpine thing.

I really like this player. It replaced an eight year old Alpine that worked great up until recently. Manually accessing and navigating the sub menu hasn't gotten any easier but the Tuneit app is really cool as long as you know that you have to turn on the GPS function in your phone to make it work. Strange requirement I know... But the whole not having to screw with cd's since you have a butt-load of tunes on a flash drive or phone is really cool. It's like listening to a radio station that plays everything you like without the blahbity blah. It's a pretty nice unit for the price if you're not looking for anything fancy.

Pros: Easy to install, and it sounds awesome.

Cons: Navigating the sub menu is a pain and the Tuneit app has that weird GPS requirement that I mentioned before. The app also disconnects a lot since it "senses the vehicle being in motion" while it's sitting still. The other thing I noticed was that the detachable faceplate didn't seem quite as... sturdy as the one on my old deck and it makes me wonder if that's going to be a problem somewhere down the road.

This stereo sounds excellent and the bluetooth phone/audio quality is also great. My only complaint is that I wish there was an option to dim the illumination as it is much brighter than the rest of my dash lighting. I found the settings to be pretty easy to navigate so long as the tune ti app is used for the 9 band eq settings, the eq allows for a lot of adjustment which is not easily seen/adjusted through the stereo display but very easy through my android phone. All in all this unit is a great value at this price point with phenomenal sound.

Pros: Sound quality, bluetooth phone quality, bluetooth music quality, ease of use, price point, free tune it app makes adjusting versatile eq simple

Installed along with an Alpine KTP-445A Power Pack. No sub but sounds good in the Chevy S10 on two after market 4"x6" speakers in the dash and two 6-1/2" speakers in the doors. Very happy with Crutchfield, their shipping was super fast, everything was well packaged for shipment and arrived in perfect condition. Not real happy with Alpine however. Was looking forward to tweaking the head unit's settings via their Tuneit App. Unfortunately it seems that the Tuneit App installed on a Nexus 7 tablet does not work with the Alpine UTE-52BT. One would think that with a company like Alpine this would not be an issue but it is. Seems they are able to make a good HU but their app development is sorely lacking.

Pros: Easy install. Especially appreciate the plug and play convenience of the KTP-445A Power Pack. Face plate has a pleasing, clean appearance.

Cons: It's very easy to mistakenly activate the "enter" function when adjusting the volume. Bad idea to marry the two functions on the same control. Some of the buttons are very tiny making it real easy to fat finger them. HU only has one USB port so if it fails you're out of luck. Would have been much happier had there also been a rear USB port on this model. The biggest disappointment was the inability to use the Tuneit App with the very popular and widely installed base of Nexus 7 tablets, inc

Excellent head unit. Features GALORE! Excellent for people who have fazed out CDs and prefer wireless media or iPod/iPhone control. Great bass, crisp highs, and excellent mids. The ease of use got 4 stars only because there are so many features that it literally takes a couple of days to learn how to navigate the numerous menus, options, and features this thing has available. Installation was a breeze. Everything I needed for installation came free with my purchase and had the unit in my '03 Durango in about an hour. However, I have installed many head units for friends and family so I do have experience. Even for a novice, the master sheet provided by crutchfield makes installation quick and easy being that it is extremely detailed. The hands free option and included microphone keeps me from even having to touch my phone in the car. All music is available as well as contacts, recent calls, missed calls, and hands free dialing by speech. I must say for $140 you can't go wrong. Oh, and the fact it's an Alpine tells you right away it will provide the performance you are looking for to boost that factory stereo. Even if you don't upgrade your door speakers or add a system with subwoofers the difference in quality is night and day. I would recommend this product to anyone in the market looking to upgrade that factory stereo.

Pros: Tons of features, hands free, blue tooth & USB compatible, sleek look, great quality.

Pros: Good sound quality. Nice looking. Plenty of functions Bluetooth TuneIt app

Cons: Could use more information on the display A bit of a learning curve for the functions

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this unit mainly for the Bluetooth and parametric EQ features. My Nokia Lumia 900 is listed in Alpine's guide as compatible. The phone works perfectly with the 6 other Bluetooth speakers/receivers it pairs with. The only time Bluetooth works properly with this Alpine unit is when using the "Zune" app that came with the phone (which I never use). With all other apps, the audio is barely audible (the same level the audio is at when you switch sources and the receiver seems to be processing something before deciding to play at full volume). Rhapsody, Pandora, Audible, Podcasts, web browser....none of them work. Only the Zune player and the telephone work properly. I've had to go back to the external Bluetooth receiver which was used with the old head unit this was suppose to replace. I'd return it if the weather was warmer, but it's cold and I don't want to do another uninstall/reinstall outside. Maybe a future phone will be more compatible. I would not recommend buying this without testing phone compatibility in a store beforehand.

Pros: 9 band parametric EQ adjustable down to 20hz.

Cons: Menus aren't intuitive. With everything set flat, the subwoofer output is extremely weak compared to the main channels. It's as if Alpine reduced it to make room for more "boost" options. The Bluetooth feature is app specific instead of simply taking audio from the phone and playing it through the receiver like most other devices.

At little over $100 for an open box unit, I think I got what people call it a steal. I've been thinking to myself lately why manufacturer's still put Compact Disc or CD-ROM reading capability as they are now obsolete with proliferation of solid state memory and smart phones. Then saw this product; originally thought "too good to be true..." I received in 2 days, and have to say, this unit have now firmly convinced me that the shining round disc will be forever hung up in history and Encyclopedia as historic media that has set the pace since the early 80's. Now the review; everything works flawlessly, though I do wished that the backlighting could be adjusted than just blue; because it does not match my '94 Miata's interior. But that's okay, for what I get out of this thing such as Pandora, BT streaming, handsfree, Serius (capability), AM/FM, USB, AUX, etc. can't complain really. Sounds much louder than the previous JVC Compact Disc head unit that came with the car (I got the car used) but with Kicker Hideaway (another purchase from Crutchfield) behind the passenger seat, it sounds fantastic. It does lack some high end but planning to replace the stock speakers anyway. I think it's a better set up than say Pioneer as they tend to over emphasize the high end which hurts my ears. Last note is Pandora connectivity, this seems to be my favorite right now, and to be honest, more convenient than Sirius/XM; it's okay now with ads but might go subscription.

Pros: Versatility, and look ma, no more CD!! Low cos, feature packet single DIN unit that did not empty my wallet.

Cons: Backlighting is fixed to Blue/White LCD.

Easy install. Sounds great, and really easy to hook up with the KTP 445A power pack. I have no idea what took me so long to do this relatively simple upgrade.

Pros: Looks pretty good. Easy to install. Easy to hook up Alpine power pack.

Cons: It will play Pandora through my phone, however it will not see it when the 'source' is Pandora... it will play Pandora through the BT Audio source. Not a big deal, and... So I either play Pandora using 'BT Audio' or play music from the 16 GB flash drive... they both work just fine. I would advise reading through the instruction manual BEFORE installation. That way when you first start it up you will know how to turn off demo mode. Just sayin'...

I paired it with a Alpine KTP-445A Power Pack (45x4) on my stock dodge dakota (regular cab) speakers and it sounds great. It all fits in the dash very neatly. I would recommend this to someone who wants a digital head unit and doesnt want to pay too much. Its the future people, we can leave our cds at home.

Pros: Tons of options, bass control is a plus if you use a sub, clean sound, plays every kind of music format.

Cons: Get the optional remote, its clunky to use at times when switching files/folders on flash drives. Thats why it got the 4 stars on ease of use.

Huge upgrade over stock radio. Great value

Pros: Great sound quality. To my surprise the stock speakers sound fairly good with this unit (I also run subwoofer). I was going to upgrade speakers too but I may just put it on hold now. I have no problems with BT from my Galaxy phone. I use it for calling, streaming music and map navigation. I like front panel USB and AUX inputs, it makes installation easier (IMHO)

Cons: I was lead to believe that time alignment can be done with Tuneit app. Not true for this headunit. MP3 meta data from USB drive gets truncated at certain number of characters. No support for non-latin UTF fonts. 2V preamp outputs which is not a big deal IMHO.

Was really hoping for a lot more out of this unit. Alpine let me down! Don't get me wrong, the music and podcast sound quality are good, but not great. But the sound quality of a phone call and map directions, sucks! The adjustments for this are lame and might as well not exist for all the good they do. Tried talking to Alpine tech support but they were as helpful as a flat tire. This unit replaced a 20 year old Blaupunkt cassette deck/tuner. I was using a cassette to run my iphone thru the unit. And the sound quality all around was twice the quality of this new Alpine unit. I will be reinstalling the old Blaupunkt and chalking this purchase up to "buyer beware"!!

I installed this unit 2 weeks ago in my 87 Mustang V-8 Hatch. I used the wiring harness adapter and the install kit that came with it and it fit perfect. The faceplate color and texture match the dash well and it has an original look, not bolt on. I am using the original speakers so I can't evaluate the sound yet, but I does everything well. My only gripe is the size of the buttons, and legibility. I admit my eyes are not what they used to be so a younger owner might not have the issues I have. This unit fit and works well in a 2000 Ford SD diesel

Pros: Easy to install and set up. The Crutchfield Tech was knowledgeable and coached me on exactly how to remove the old Ford radio. IT was giving me problems on one side. I ended up turning one of the jaws out on a woodworking squeeze clamp and used it to push the removal tool handles to the point of bending. The clamp held the pressure on the handle so I could jiggle it loose.

Cons: If the unit has a loss of power, it will not retain its configuration so I had to put all the Bluetooth and sound settings back in the unit. TuneIt App also results in loss of Bluetooth setting whe you load a new config--or I'm doing something wrong.

    Almost perfect for me

    unnoticedtrails from Colorado on 8/15/2014

I have a 2007 Mustang, devoid of many of the modern creature comforts of today's cars. I had been listening to music from my Ipod/Iphone through the aux jack. But, the long cord dangling from my armrest was an eye sore. I never liked to answer the phone while driving (still don't) but there are those calls I know are important and must be answered. This deck does an awesome job of allowing me to hit a button I can access easily and clearly answer the phone. It is nice to be able to get in the car and drive away without hooking up my phone. One thing that does not seem to work well is SIRI. Music comes in clear, but she sounds like she is on a really crackily phone call. She has a hard time understanding my commands. I hope to find a reason why. My commands go through about half of the time. I did have to get a second microphone sent to me because the first just quit altogether. Crutchfield was courteous and fast acting. I just had to send the broken one back. UPS was rude however. The stereo was as easy to put in as you would think any installation would be. Normal tools and help from friends (although one has home stereo installation experience) gets it in in an afternoon. Upon mounting the BT microphone, be careful with the cord, and mount it on the visor with the supplied clip. the adhesive loses its stick in the heat. I pulled the trim panel on the A pillar out and tucked the wire under for a clean install. On the visor, the mic is not a glaring to thieves.

Pros: Great for a person who wants Bluetooth capability. Just do not rely on Siri. Calls come in clear and the person on the other end can hear you well. I do not have Pandora, but it is setup for it.

Cons: The mic needs to be placed closer to the driver for best audio reception. Siri does not come in clear and only understands you half of the time. Be careful with the mic cord, too.

The head unit is great. I replaced my stock Mach 460 sound system in my 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra convertible. I needed the head unit to allow me to turn the music up when my top is down. I loose too much sound when my top is down but the factory stereo caps the loudness of the music. The Alpine head unit took the gloves off of the stereo. I was concerned that this install would not work because of the complexities that Ford built into its stock, amplified stereo. But the combo of Alpine and Crutchfield helped solve my problem and made the install go well. Starting with my call to Crutchfield to learn more about what product I needed and how difficult the install would be, I was very skeptical that Crutchfield would have a product that would seamlessly integrate with my stereo given that I was still going to use the factory amps and my after-market powered subwoofer. The adviser steered me to the right product then set me up with the integration harnesses. I was not sure if I could pull off the install. I used their detailed instructions and mad a couple of tech calls on a Sat from Seattle to their call center, which is 3 hours ahead. I expected to get a tech person who was bottom of the barrel, accepting to work for the company on a beautiful Sat in the summer. To my curprise, knowledgable techs answered the phone and my questions easily. I made about 4 calls during the install. That said, I could not be happier with the outcome, all due to Crutchfield.

Pros: Bluetooth Hands free calling Easy install - with the harness & faceplate kit Crutchfield provided Mic has a long cord

Cons: The only con I can think of is maybe the settings controls, but after reading the manual & getting a things setup, that's not an issue.

Overall a pretty good radio. I love the bluetooth. I have an Galaxy S3 and it was super simple to connect it. The sound is better than the stock head unit it replaced.

Pros: No CD mechanism. Able to turn off the onboard amp and use only the pre-outs.

Cons: I had issues getting the head unit to lock in to its mounting sleeve.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As usual this stands up to Alpine quality of my past purchases. This has a lot of options for a head unit under $150. The instruction manual is a must to navigate for the first time, maybe even first few. But using the manual isn't a bad thing. Navigating without a touch screen is difficult on almost every head unit, deal with it and stop whining if you don't like that. No it's not flashy but it's also an inexpensive unit. Bluetooth is OUTSTANDING and connects flawlessly, make sure you adjust the input volume on the head unit so it doesn't distort! The ability to use siri is great, I have not tried yet so I will not comment on ease of use. Make sure the external microphone is included, mine wasn't but as usual Crutchfield has one on the way. I have tinkered with the sound adjustments and they are very good, not like a separate processor and/or equalizer but it's good enough for me and I like to have mine almost perfect. Make sure you turn off demo mode or it will annoy you beyond belief. Tuneit works well but don't get crazy unless you really know about sound staging or you will be confused and hate it very fast. Make sure you have an iPod/iPhone cable to connect or the app will not work. Although Pandora control is included I heart radio can be used without problems. I never use Pandora because of the ads! Don't listen to reviews complaining about using the different features; a car stereo has limited space for buttons and sometimes they must control multiple features!

Pros: Many features for the price

Cons: Bluetooth microphone is only external

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit gets the job done. It is not a strikingly great looking deck, but doesn't look bad. The build quality is good but not great. The sound quality is what you expect from Alpine, very clear. Setup is easy but not necessarily intuitive. I had to read the directions, which isn't a bad thing. It's perfect for anyone that doesn't want the overhead of a CD player, wants the convenience of Bluetooth and the convenience of a front USB. The sound quality is better via USB. I'm using both an iPhone 4S and an iPad Air and they work seamlessly via Bluetooth and USB. I replaced an older premium alpine with this one because it was the best Alpine had to offer without a CD player.

Pros: No Cd Player Sound is above average for this price point value Seamless Bluetooth front USB

Cons: Build quality is average Coolness factor, kind of plain Display is average

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this unit in my Jeep grand cherokee. Display is nice and bright, easily readable on sunny days at the beach. Audio quality is great, love the way the unit looks. My only complaint after getting it is the menu navigation. I frequently play music from a USB flash drive and finding specific songs is a bit of a pain. It doesn't always list the tracks in alphabetical filename order, and with only 1 line of text it's hard to find a song in a folder with 100 other randomly listed songs. Much easier to use the BT function and navigate the songs on my android device. BT audio works great and connects almost instantly. BT call quality could be better, as sometimes the other person reports static. But this is a really solid stereo for the price; very happy with it despite the little annoyances.

Pros: Bluetooth, display brightness, sound quality, price

Cons: Menu navigation, usb audio playback

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The CD is dead, for all intents and purposes. Why there are so few Digital Media Receivers on the market yet is beyond me, but there are comparatively very few. I don't know if this one is the best on the market (though it was the top ranked DMR on the various head unit ratings websites I checked before purchasing), but it is a pretty good head unit. Easy to install...even easier with Crutchfield's exceptionally good instructions. This head unit has everything I want and need for listening to music in the car. So far everything has been a breeze to set up. The instructions that came with the unit are a little lacking, and apparently machine translated to English from some other language, but not all that bad. I like the fact there are several different ways to adjust the settings, such as simple bass/treble.balance/fade, preset EQ (ie: "Rock", "Pop", "Classical", etc), or completely custom 9-band. In addition, you can assign certain settings to certain inputs, so if your phone and Sirius receiver have different audio output ranges, you can custom set each one so you aren't knocked silly when you switch between input methods.

Pros: No CD slot to collect dust and dog hair while not ever being used because no one uses CDs anymore. (Hardly anyway)

    Cons: Nothing yet.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This deck is good for the person that does not need or want a CD player. I have all of my music on my iPhone 5S and can play it just fine. I like the phone interface better than the deck interface for navigating music. The Pandora sync is OK but I do not like using the interface from the deck which trys to take control. It is just to hard to switch to different stations, especially while driving. Lets face it we listen to music while we drive. The color of the deck (blue) does make it hard to drive at night it is a little bright for me. I used ITune from Alpine and it does make setting up your stereo a little easier, but it will not allow you to change the settings while the vehicle is in motion. You can change it on the deck though.

Pros: Great features for the price range

Cons: Difficult interface for music play from phones (if you use the deck)

System rocks. Alpine head unbelievable for the price, Bluetooth will control the stereo to about 10ft outside the truck. Direct link via USB increases sound quality quite a bit. Still researching all the Alpine head can do, there are a lot of menus. Great unit. Crutchfield shipped quick, arrived in perfect shape with all we needed to complete install. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price, this HU can't be beat. Maybe it can, I didn't try out any others. HOWEVER, in the few weeks I've had it installed I've been extremely pleased. Installation was a snap thanks to the supplied harnesses and dash kit. Immediately I could tell a MUCH improved audio quality over the stock Honda HU. Integration with my iPhone was a snap. Bluetooth works flawlessly. Siri has a habit of flaking, but I think that's an iOS issue. My only gripes are the build quality seems slightly flimsy (the faceplate weighs nothing and doesn't exactly snap in with reassuring clickiness), and the iPhone app is less than useless. The lack of a CD player doesn't but me in the least as I haven't played a disc in years. I'm sure for audiophiles the sound quality isn't the best, but for a dad in a base Honda CRV, it's awesome. Very happy with this purchase.

Pros: Easy installation, lots of settings and options, powered USB on faceplate + aux jack, good sound quality, fairly easy to operate.

Cons: Busy face with small buttons, Siri integration is flaky, useless iPhone app.

Very happy with the Bluetooth on this unit as I drive a lot for business and need a clear phone connection. In that aspect it succeeds well. I also listen to SiriusXM for music and the Alpine falls miles short from the factory radio in my Volvo S80. The music used to sound open and clear, with deep, full bass and sparkling highs like the front row of a concert hall, but with the Alpine it sounds cheap, thin and compressed like a cheapo aftermarket unit.

Ordered this unit when my head unit died on my 2005 Dodge Ram. I was interested in a digital media unit since my family doesn't use disc's when we are traveling. I was also deciding between a HD unit or a Sirius XM unit. I did not find a HD unit within my needs, and thought I would buy this unit with the Sirius XM attachment. This was a simple install thanks to the directions and the supports of Crutchfield. I went ahead and soldered the wire and heat shrinked to make sure the connection is secure. The dash comes apart and it was a bit tight adding the Sirius XM module behind the unit, but it fit with a little of finesse. Bluetooth wire hid behind the dash and attached to the driver's side sun visor with no kink or problems.

Pros: No disc slot for dust to collect. No extra cutting to fit. Fits my truck fine. Good Bluetooth sound and connection.

Cons: Alpine app is horrible. Doesn't come with a remote (I don't use anyway, but others in price range have one). Read the manual. On mine, one of the buttons sticks a bit.

This is a awesome stereo. I replaced my stereo in my 96 dodge 2500 cummins diesel. It has 5" exhaust turbo back and the Bluetooth phone call system works GREAT!! I worried it would be too much background noise, it wasn't. The unit works great, the only thing I have a issue with is the clock. I set the clock, then for some reason I cannot get it to display the time. I'm sure there's a way, I just found it yet. Not having a CD player is nice too. I haven't used CDs in years. This is a must have for iPhone users

Pros: No CD, Bluetooth phone calls, Bluetooth music/podcast

    Cons: Can't display the clock/time

This radio is a great value for the money. Looks great, sounds great and integrates nicely with the siriusxm module ( purchased separately ). The only issue I have is with the Bluetooth for phone calls. I am told their is an awful echo by the folks I speak to. Could be related to the placement of the microphone. I just have not had a chance to troubleshoot further.

I have been installing Alpine head units exclusively in vehicles for over 25 years. I have never had a complaint with Alpine. I have the old UTE-42BT's installed in several of my vehicles & I love them. I went to purchase another one & found it'd be superseded by the UTE-52BT. The UTE-52BT is a nightmare; you can't control Pandora through your phone, you have to use the head unit (which sucks compared to an iPhone). The TuneIt app to control it costs $3.99 & is worthless (It's just 5 EQ settings that historically are just controlled through the head unit & a bunch of random peoples EQ settings that you can use [aint nobody got time for that!]). The Bluetooth is a nightmare too, even if you're not in Bluetooth mode, when you make a phone call, it cuts out your music & starts ringing through your speakers obscenely loud.then the person on the other end can't even hear you.& the button on your iPhone to switch back to iPhone source doesn't work. Bluetooth just keeps taking over & the person on the disgruntled person on other end just hangs up. The adjustments are also a nightmare, I've never once had to call up a tech to help set up an Alpine receiver because they've always been so straight forward that even a gangster loc'd out on gin & juice can control them. this one is incredibly complicated & there are all kinds of hidden keys & strange ways of accessing the ridiculous amount of menus. Even the tech thought the process was ridiculous. UTE-52BT=debris

    Pros: Great Alpine sound quality.

Cons: -Can't control Pandora through your iPhone & controlling it through the head unit suck (you'll just end up unplugging your phone, changing Pandora stations & replugging in your phone. -Bluetooth is obscene & cuts out your music no matter what, unless you disable it altogether & play your music through a direct cable link. -The controls are ridiculously overcomplicated (I might add that I'm a bomb technician & fairly intelligent). -The TuneIt app is a crock - rip off.

    Great unit for the price.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It's a simple head unit that makes good use of the phone I paid dearly for. I wanted an interface between my phone and my amplifiers with the ability to equalize and tune for my car. Alpine has done a pretty good job of it. It replaced an IDA-305 (pre-tuneit) which was 2.5 times more expensive and basically does the exact same thing--minus a few tuning features: timing and slopes on the LPF and HPF. Not sure if that is limited by the Alpine tuneit app (which is just "ok") or the head unit. Install was no different than any other head unit. Its not beautiful or fancy, but it does most of what I want for the right cost.

Pros: Cost for features ease of use sound quality uses phone cables for connectivity

Cons: I owned head units with nicer displays in the 90's Can't turn off the built-in amplifier Some of the advanced tuning features available in the Tuneit app are not available for this unit.

Receiver was delivered yesterday and I had it in my truck this morning along with a new pair of Kicker 5 1/4" speakers. The entire install took less than 90 minutes. The sound difference between the extra power of the receiver and the new speakers is absolutely phenomenal! The Alpine was pretty easy to use (I still haven't looked at the owner's manual for anything other than wiring - phone is hooked up to it, used the tune it app to get the sound just right). Overall great product! One thing to mention that I hadn't been able to find is that this has a detachable face also!

    Pros: Good power, clean sound!

    Cons: None yet!

Bought this stereo for my 02 Silverado. It fit perfectly with the supplied install kit. Only took me about an hour. I choose it for its features and price. The bluetooth works great with my android based phone for streaming music. Haven't tried using it for calls. It powers the Alpine 610c installed in the doors and sounds great. I'm really pleased with it so far. I also have the SiriusXM receiver, makes long trips more enjoyable.

Pros: This unit works great. I would recommend it highly.

    Cons: None so far.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The Alpine UTE-52BT features built-in Bluetooth (ver. 2.1+EDR) technology. The head unit's built-in Bluetooth allows you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.5 (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Head Set Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.4 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Alpine UTE-52BT.

SPP (Secure Simple Pairing): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the Alpine UTE-52BT without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. When a registered Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. You can register up to three Bluetooth-enabled devices with the Alpine head unit (only one device can be used at a time).

Hands-Free Communication: The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone (including iPhone & Android). The controls of the UTE-52BT can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone, so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers. During a conversation, you can initiate a transfer of audio between your mobile phone and your car's speakers.

    • Receiving Calls: The Alpine UTE-52BT provides a couple ways to answer your phone calls without picking up your mobile phone. Incoming calls are announced by a caller ring tone through your vehicle's speakers (music will be muted) & a Caller ID message across your Alpine head unit's display.
      • Manual Answer: Manually answer an incoming call by pressing the "Phone" button on your Alpine head unit.
      • Automatic Answer: Set the Alpine head unit to answer the incoming call automatically; when a call is received, it is answered automatically after approximately 5 seconds.
      • Call Waiting: If a second call is received during a current call, you can have the first caller wait momentarily while you take the second call. When you are finished with one call, you can switch to the other.
    • Placing Calls: The Alpine UTE-52BT provides a variety of functions for placing a phone call without using your mobile phone. The Alpine UTE-52BT features full phone book access, call history, voice tag dialing, and redial with compatible phones.
      • Voice Dialing: If you have a voice-dial capable phone, you can dial a phone contact by simply speaking the name of your contact.
      • Phonebook (with ABC search): Up to 1,000 contacts (5 telephone numbers for each name) can be downloaded from your compatible mobile phone. You can select the first 3 call letters (ABC) to search for a desired name in your phonebook.
      • Preset Dialing: You can assign phone numbers that you dial frequently to presets (1-6) for quick recall. You can assign up to six frequently called phone numbers. A total of 18 phone numbers can be stored in the preset memory (6 numbers for each mobile phone paired).
      • Call History: The previously dialed, received, or missed numbers (20 each) can be retrieved and dialed from memory.
Note: The external microphone is tuned and engineered to reduce noise interference and feedback. This allows optimal placement in your car, for the best possible sound quality. You can adjust the microphone's volume level; and even mute the microphone, so your voice will not be heard by the caller. The external microphone measures 0.5625" (diameter) x 1.625" (deep); and features an attached 13' cable terminated by a right-angle male 3.5mm connector.

Audio Streaming (w/ Advanced Music Navigation): The Alpine UTE-52BT can stream music from your Bluetooth A2DP/AVRCP mobile device. Not only can it control & stream your music through Bluetooth, it can process your music using its built-in DSP Sound Expansion to ensure you get the best sound. In addition to basic playback functions (Play/Pause, FF/RW, Skip, Random/Repeat), the UTE-52BT provides a Search List of your stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Genre, etc.. (AVRCP 1.4 phones only). The head unit will also display your stored music's song information; such as Artist name & Song/Album title. The UTE-52BT even supports audio streaming of music apps on your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone with limited control and song/artist information. You will continue to use your Bluetooth enabled smartphone to control advanced music navigation.

Note: When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Bluetooth Sound Quality Adjustments: You can customize the sound of your Bluetooth hands-free experience to fit your own preferences. You can adjust the UTE-52BT's mic gain, phone output, & ring tone volume. If that's not enough, there are 5 sound quality settings to choose from to get the balance just right for you. This flexibility will make your phone calls a pleasurable experience.

    • Volume Adjustments: You can emphasize or weaken the volume level of phone call, the ring tone, and the microphone input to fit your own preference. The Phone Talk Level, Ring Tone, & Mic Gain are all adjustable between -5 to + 5 dB.
    • Sound Types: This unit provides 5 methods to improve the sound quality of your calls. You can choose the type according to your own preference - Type 1 (standard mode), Type 2 (enhances noise reduction), Type 3 (enhances echo-cancellation), Type 4 (enhances both noise reduction & echo cancellation), & Type 5 (weakens both noise reduction & echo-cancellation).

Speaker Output: You can select which car speaker outputs the audio from your Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone/device.

    • All: The audio will be output from all of the speakers in the car
    • F-L: The sound is only output from the front left speaker.

Audio Enhancements: The UTE-52BT offers the following audio adjustments to enhance your in-car listening experience.

    • Media Xpander: Alpine's exclusive Media Xpander is engineered to bring out the musical details lost in compressed media, and it is adjustable per source to get the most out of your digital audio media. The Media Expander makes vocals or instruments sound distinct regardless of the music source. You can customize the Media Xpander to suit your personal taste by adjusting the level (0-8) for Bass, Mids, and Highs. The FM radio, USB, iPod, Pandora, Bluetooth, and Aux will be able to reproduce the music more clearly even in vehicles with a lot of road noise.
    • Bass Engine SQ: Bass Engine SQ tuning is a new feature that changes bass sound characteristics by automatically adjusting different combinations of EQ, Sub Level, and Crossover settings through the choice of five bass profiles (Standard, Punch, Rich, Mid Bass, and Low Bass); only customizable through TuneIt app for Apple iOS and Android devices. You can adjust the effect level (0-6) of the selected profile from the head unit.
    • Source Volume Level: The output level of each source (Tuner, USB, iPod, Bluetooth, Pandora, Aux) is individually adjustable from -14 to + 14 dB.

TuneIt App: TuneIt is an easy-to-use sound-tuning app that also offers Facebook notifications. Download this free app (from iTunes or GooglePlay) onto your Apple iPhone (iOS 7.0+ ) or Android smartphone (2.2+) and create a user profile about your vehicle and sound system. Your iPhone must be connected to the UTE-52BT via the appropriate Alpine iPod connector cable (500KCU445I, sold separately) or the Dock-/Lightning-cable that came with your iPhone. Your Android smartphone must support A2DP/AVRCP/SPP Bluetooth profiles and be paired with the Alpine receiver. Your iPhone or Android smartphone will also need an active Data Plan account with connection to the Internet via 3G, EDGE, or WiFi.

    • Sound Tuning: The TuneIt app turns your iPhone or Android smartphone into a sound tuning interface for the UTE-52BT. Follow the simple TuneIt graphical instructions on your phone to adjust sound settings for your specific vehicle or choose from pre-made settings in the database. Settings that can be adjusted include Parametric EQ, Bass Engine SQ, Crossover, and Media Xpander. As you change settings on your smartphone, you will hear the results, so you can customize the sound to exactly how you want it. You can make and save up to 100 different sound settings in your account, which is helpful if you want various settings to use for specific types of music. After tuning your system, upload your settings to the Alpine Cloud Server to share them with other Alpine fans. You can also check out other user's settings and rate them. The more active you are, the higher your profile status progresses within the app.
    • Facebook Notifications: The TuneIt app also keeps you in touch with your Facebook friends. When you receive a notification, you will get a visual alert on the smartphone and the head unit, plus a sound alert through your car speakers. The visual notification includes the Facebook icon and the sender's name, with the profile picture shown on the phone. You are then able to listen to the notification via TTS (Text-to-Speech) through the head unit and your vehicle's speaker. You can even "Like" the notification from the head unit's front-panel controls. In order to receive Facebook notifications on the head unit, the TuneIt app must be the active app on your smartphone.

Note: Access to TuneIt will depend on the availability of a cellular and/or WiFi network for purposes of allowing your iPhone or smartphone to connect to the Internet. You will also need to turn on the GPS function of your phone.

Beep Guide: This function will give audible feedback with varying tones depending upon the button pressed. The volume of this feature can be set from 0-7.

    Display Features

Detachable Face: The unit's front-panel is detachable to deter theft; a hard storage case is included to protect the faceplate once detached. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can also be purchased for this unit. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Single-Line Display: This unit is equipped with a 1-Line white-backlit LCD, so you can easily view AM/FM stations and ID-3/WMA tag information.

Text Display: The digital media receiver will display the folder name, the file name, and the tag information, while playing a USB device loaded with MP3/WMA music files. This unit can scroll the text information of MP3/WMA files, folder names, and tags. There are two Text Scroll settings.

    • Auto: The information of folder and file names, and the tags are scrolled automatically.
    • Manual: The display is scrolled when a when a track is changed.

Auto Dimmer: This unit is equipped with an illumination lead (orange); when the unit's dimmer mode is set to Auto and the illumination lead is connected to your vehicle's headlight circuit, the display and button illumination will dim to a fixed, preset level whenever the headlights are turned on. If preferred, you may choose the Manual dimmer mode setting, so the display and button illumination is dim at all times.

Stay On Mode: You can set the delay in turning off the head unit's power after the vehicle's ignition is turned off. When you select a source mode, other than Off, the music will be paused after you turn the ignition key off. At the same time, the prompt "Press Preset 6 to Stay On" will scroll once. Press Preset 6 within 15 seconds to continue to listen to your music for the select period of time (off/5/15/30 min). If Preset 6 is not pressed, the unit will power off within 15 seconds. During this period, you can only receive a call by operating your paired smartphone.

Note: There is a possibility that the battery may be drained if already weak during Stay On Mode.

Demo Mode: This unit has a demonstration feature for its display which can be turned On or Off in the menu.

Angle Mounting: For proper playback, Alpine recommends mounting the UTE-52BT no more that 35° above horizontal.

    Remote Control

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit that lets you keep your vehicle's factory radio steering wheel remote controls when used with an optional steering wheel audio control adapter (sold separately). Please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to see if your vehicle is compatible.

Optional Wireless Remote: The Alpine UTE-52BT is wireless remote control ready. Simply add on the Alpine RUE-4202 IR remote (500RUE4202, sold separately) to make it even easier to control the head unit's functions.

This is replacing a 103BT which has been a flawless unit for Bluetooth phone and listening to audio books through the USB port. Looking forward to the advanced BT to stream my online libraries of books and audio, inc podcasts. A side benefit is that these mech-less head units are not as deep which is helpful in the tight spaces of newer dashes.[ Geoffrey  Feb 26, 2017 ]

Great price, no CD, great brand, Bluetooth and iPhone compatible[ Kenneth  Jan 02, 2016 ]
I have always liked Alpine radios, and this unit seems like a good value. I needed to upgrade my 2001 Suburban stock radio, but did not want to put a unit in that was worth more than the vehicle. I like the ability of BT and digital media since I do not carry CD's any more in my car.[ Todd  Dec 29, 2015 ]
I was looking for a CD less digital media focused head unit for an older car that I am restoring. For my needs, I compared this against the Blaupunkt Brisbane and this seemed to have the features I wanted with Bluetooth, Sirius xm compatibility, USB and aux input in the front instead of the rear like other head units. Also, the overall reviews were solid for this unit which also provided guidance when deciding. The price was very reasonable given the features.[ Brandon  Dec 23, 2015 ]

Yes the display looks great during the day and night. Sorry no pic though. Love the unit except for the iPod cable. It doesn't make great connection all the time.[ Toby  Oct 17, 2016 ]
Too bright, let me know if you find a way to turn it down at night, it's blinding and the manual is pretty vague.[ Wes  Oct 17, 2016 ]
The only time I am unable to see the display is if the sun is shining directly on it. My dashboard (where the unit is mounted) is at an angle though so if mounted differently I don't think I'd get the same result. I use mine for BT Audio primarily so I control everything I'm listening to from my phone. I only look at the display when I want to check the time. I believe you can adjust the brightness though if needed.[ Katherine  Oct 17, 2016 ]
Yes you can. I had something similar to this on my bike.[ Steven  Oct 08, 2016 ]

Unfortunately, no. This unit does not have any rear inputs with the exception of the microphone input. I would use the Apple sync cable to the front USB input. Audio quality and control of your device is excellent using the front USB. I got a 6" coiled sync cable to keep things tidy.[ Dave  Jun 08, 2016 ]

Also make sure you have the volume turned up some while answering the phone. Old habits to turn the music down when the phone rings[ Toby  Oct 17, 2016 ]
When I installed this deck in my daughters CRV i didn't get the microphone plug all the way in the receiver and it didn't work. I found the issue and plugged in all the way and got it working but had to refine the placement so that the noise under the dash was not so overbearing. I fabricated a plate from black ABS material to fit on the dash with a hole drilled so the mic fit in snug. I originally didn't have the mic protruding out far enough and it was picking up noise from under/behind the dash that washed out the voice. Once I slid the mic further out into the cabin the caller was able to hear her voice clearly on calls. Hope this was of use.[ Joe  Dec 18, 2015 ]
This really comes down to features set and price. Different receivers have different features. Unfortunately, not all features can be included at this price. I use this radio with an iPhone. The phone will charge from its USB, but the radio will also connect to it, and grab the bluetooth away from my headset. Its a hassle, so I carry an old 120 GB ipod for music. Additionally, the radio in this unit is horrible, If I knew how bad it was I wouldn't have bought it.[ LOU  Jul 07, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: None that we are aware of. You might want to call Alpine to check with them directly. I got the answer from Alpine. They have a RF wireless remote for marine applications that will circumvent the need to 'see' the radio as with infrared controls.[ Keith  Apr 29, 2015 ]

I Don't use voice prompts from seri or GPS, but my phone calls are all super clear on my end and the people that I've asked do say the voice quality and clarity is also good on the receiving end.[ JAMES D  Apr 20, 2015 ]
Yes to the phone calls. I have the cde-153 series alpine deck, with the Same results. Although I have found that it is only on my end of the call thankfully, and map prompts are clear. The voice on Google maps was hard to understand at times but it's had an update and now I have no problem.[ SETH  Apr 18, 2015 ]
Same thing here[ ROBERT  Apr 17, 2015 ]
SOmetimes people tell me they cant hear me through handsfree calling, but the only noise i get is a piercing beep when i set the source to Aux. But i hear that noise with almost any electronic that puts out sound through an aux cable. its like the noise before hooking up a guitar to an amp. Funny thing is that I was not aware the unit was suppose to give u map directions when using Gps.... my unit doesnt say anything i have disconnect the blue tooth[ ISMAEL  Apr 17, 2015 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.[ Krissy  Mar 30, 2015 ]  Staff
Yes it has power output control, and different pre-set power output levels, 3or4[ Angel  Mar 30, 2015 ]
Yes it does but it doesn't work on my setup because I have it integrated to my factory stereo and amplifier. It should work great if you are installing aftermarket components. It is a great unit![ PATRICK  Mar 25, 2015 ]

Thanks guys! I ended up ordering a Sony with BT that will replace a Sony whose menu quirks I am familiar. Hopefully the BT features of the Sony will mesh with my phone. Paul[ Paul in   Jan 03, 2015 ]
I have not used a Motorola phone but I have used an HTC M7 and iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 with no issues.[ MAX  Jan 02, 2015 ]
I am using it with a Nexus 5 and have done so on both Jellybean and Lollipop. The only issue I have had is with it finding Pandora on my Phone every time. Often I have to turn the stereo off and on to get it to reconnect through Pandora. So I couldn't help with your specific phone.[ BENJAMIN  Jan 02, 2015 ]
I don't know if the Bluetooth working with that phone i have an iPhone[ Arnulfo  Jan 02, 2015 ]
Thanks everybody; think I'll try her out.[ Tyler  Dec 21, 2014 ]
When the phone is connected via BT then you will use it (the phone) to change stations/songs. You can also use the deck to skip tracks. To use the receiver in 'pandora mode' it must be plugged into the usb port and you cannot use the phone to control it. Personally I only use this reciever in BT mode.Yes, once the phone is paired with the reciever it only plays through the vehicle speakers.[ GRAHAM  Dec 19, 2014 ]
I do not have an iPhone but these do work with my Galaxy S5. Yes you can change/select songs as it has a built-in pandora feature. You can even launch pandora from the head unit instead of turning it on from your phone. Sound will not play through you phone once connected via bluetooth, so you'll be okay. Only downside I have with this head unit is the buttons are pretty cheap. The track skip buttons don't click after only using it for about 2 weeks. Still works but doesn't feel like you are clicking.[ SHAHIN  Dec 19, 2014 ]
You can control playback with your phone or the receiver. Also, the sound doesn't come out of your phone speaker while it is synced with your phone, which for me, is the whole time I'm in the car. Yeah, controlling with the receiver is much more difficult than using the phone, though I do use the track up/down buttons from time to time. No specific comment on Pandora as I've never used that feature in the car. I use Google Play Music and dig it.[ JEREMIAH L  Dec 19, 2014 ]
Yes. Only over the car speakers. Also, the sound quality is better if you plug it in to the USB vs bluetooth[ JOHN  Dec 19, 2014 ]
Yes it works fine with an ipod[ JODY  Nov 19, 2014 ]
Yes, this head unit will stream directly from an Ipod or an Android device using either Bluetooth or an Aux cable no matter the app that either device is using. I love this unit would highly recommend it[ REYNALDO  Nov 14, 2014 ]
I have used an iPod with usb port-works fine[ LAWRENCE  Nov 14, 2014 ]
Hi Peter, I use this with my iPhone over Bluetooth to stream from the Music app and from the Podcast app. I used the USB cord connection as well before I got the Bluetooth working. It works great, though has a tendency to turn on the Music app by default even if I was listening to Podcasts the last time I was in the car. If you are more interested in music this won't bother you. I had a little trouble with the install, but have only done 2 car stereos myself. Since a friend helped me finish up (Bluetooth phone connection) I have liked this stereo a lot.[ KARA  Nov 13, 2014 ]
The radio reception with this radio sucks. I wouldn't buy another. But it does support Bluetooth and usb audio from your smartphone.[ LOU  Nov 13, 2014 ]
I seem to be only able to get Pandora to stream when using the Bluetooth connection, but not through the radio's Pandora source button. The music works, but I can't give a thumbs up or down using the radio's buttons. However, using the same feature, I am able to easily stream music from my iTunes on my iPhone very easily.[ ERIC  Nov 13, 2014 ]
It's not limited. I use Spotify from my android phone almost exclusively. Everything is controlled through the phone though. With the unit I think there are shortcuts for Pandora so you don't have to mess with your phone while driving.[ PAUL  Nov 13, 2014 ]
It will stream the music that is coming from the device and does not limit it to just Pandora. I have used the BT for several different applications.[ JUSTIN  Nov 13, 2014 ]
I have used this with Google Play Music on my Nexus 5 and can browse through my library.[ BENJAMIN  Jan 02, 2015 ]
This unit only has the pandora app that can be fully controlled through the receiver. When I use my cell phone with bluetooth to play other apps the receiver will only let me skip to the next song. No other functions work. I cannot access my library or other stuff. I have used soundcloud, and my cell phone music player. When i plug in my mp3 player then i have access to files or the library. The only issue i have ran into with the receiver is that when pandora is not connecting (which happens 50% of the time)the receiver will REBOOT or shut off. When i turn it back on all my radio stations, clock, audio settings, bluetooth recognized devices, annoying demo mode is reset... If you plan on using the receiver for pandora i highly do not recommend it. I normally plug in my device with the usb or auxiliary. The receiver did improve sound from my speakers though.[ ISMAEL  Nov 09, 2014 ]
I have an iphone 5 that works fine. As long as the 6 has bluetooth there shouldnt be an issue[ GRAHAM  Oct 24, 2014 ]
No it is not[ JEREMIAH L  Oct 20, 2014 ]
    Yes[ ISAAC J  Oct 20, 2014 ]
I don't know about that, but, if it has the same blutooth as the i5 it should I have the i5 and it works flawless, Im very satisfied with it.[ Angel  Oct 20, 2014 ]
Can you define what you mean by "compatible?" I use it with an IPhone 6 via Bluetooth, and it works fine. Generally though, if two devices both support Bluetooth, they will work together. If you're talking about a different feature, then please specify.[ matthew  Oct 20, 2014 ]
Front face measures 7 1/4 x 2 without plastic pocket. With Pocket it measures 7 1/4 x 3 3/4 at face opening.6" deep on unit but 8" with amp jacks.I was unable to fully recess the unit into sleeve until it clicks and the Installer at Best Buy could not either. He said "This is a common problem with my model Lincoln Town Car" and forcing it to click into place has damaged other peoples wiring on rear of unit. (NON Warranty).I would suggest getting another unit if it doesn't fit, But I would stick with Alpine. Great sounding unit. Good luck[ PAUL  Aug 24, 2014 ]
I have a 2010 Chevy Express and it fits perfect.[ MICHAEL  Aug 23, 2014 ]
I have the HTC One (m7) and did not have any problems syncing up the Bluetooth with my phone. I realize the S5 is a newer phone but I wouldn't expect you would have any issues pairing it up with the Bluetooth on this unit.[ MAX  Aug 28, 2014 ]
Yes it is. Only issue have to connect every time u get in the car not like the 3 where is does it automatically.[ Vanessa  Aug 25, 2014 ]
    Yes[ JEFF  Aug 25, 2014 ]
It works with my Samsung Galaxy 4 just fine. Bluetooth, Pandora, personal media, and any USB I have tried.Sometimes the display is kind of Quirky but i don't fool with it enough.[ PAUL  Aug 24, 2014 ]
Yes ma'am. Its compatible with any blue tooth compatible phone.[ STERLING M  Aug 23, 2014 ]
    I have an iPhone 5, I'm sure it is.[ Angel  Aug 22, 2014 ]
Its compatible with a Note 3 so I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be compatible with an S5. My wife has one and they're quite similar.[ JEREMIAH L  Aug 22, 2014 ]
Yes it is compatible. Have had no issues connecting my S5.[ BRENDEN  Aug 22, 2014 ]
It should work fine with any Bluetooth compatible phone. It works with my galaxy S4.[ Bryan  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No it is not waterproof. You should look under marine app. if you want a waterproof unit.[ Anthony  Aug 02, 2014 ]
    No[ Ron  Aug 01, 2014 ]
I use the Alpine UTE-52BT in my Jeep Wrangler. It works well in that environment, is not susceptible to dust, etc., since there's no disc drive, but according to the manual the unit is not waterproof and is not made for an outdoor/marine environment. I would not want to expose the unit to heavy rain in my Jeep with the top off.[ JOHN  Jul 31, 2014 ]
It is a great stereo for inside my Ford F250, but I would look for a marine radio for your bike. I doubt this would hold up to adverse weather.[ ROBERT  Jul 31, 2014 ]
I put it in my Mirage Boat but so far not very happy keeps skipping on bt when listening to music and then shuts down when I hit waves thinking of returning it.[ MIKE  Jul 31, 2014 ]
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.[ Krissy  Jul 20, 2014 ]  Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: I do recommend re-wiring with the new harness that comes with the UTE52BT. New radios may have new wires or new pins that your older one may not include making it incompatible with the older Alpine harness. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.[ Krissy  Jul 21, 2014 ]  Staff
My phone will pick up automatically, while I am playing Pandora from the phone, But they are the same device. When my wife is in the car, her phone will automatically pick up calls also, when paired to this device. I don't think it will work if I am on the phone and she gets a call on her phone. Hope that addresses your question.[ PAUL  Aug 24, 2014 ]
Does it pair automatically with your phone when you start up? [ Margo Kenney  Jun 30, 2014 ]
I currently have two cell phones connected without any issues[ RYAN  Jun 24, 2014 ]
Not that I know of. I have to disconnect one to connect the other. It does work very well tho and every time I hop in my car the music starts playing where it left off from on my phone.[ PATRICK  Jun 24, 2014 ]
Pretty sure can only use 1 at a time[ JASON  Jun 24, 2014 ]
I've have two different phones paired to the device, but I have never used both simultaneously.[ JEFF  Jun 24, 2014 ]

Does this unit have a fold down or removable faceplate? [ Pete4roadglide  Jul 21, 2014 ]
It will scroll that information as a song plays. Navigating through an iPod/Phone would be torture.[ Ethan  Jun 10, 2014 ]
It will display one or the other but not both at the same time. You can toggle trough what you would like to view.[ Remus  Jun 10, 2014 ]
It will display the artist album and song title but I have to push the display button to switch between each. I have not found the auto scroll yet to display each automatically.[ JASON  Jun 10, 2014 ]
With an i-pod hooked up you can set the unit to display song, artist or album but it will not scroll all.[ Anthony  Jun 10, 2014 ]
Yes if it is programed. I like it alot BUT READ the instruction manuel!![ GLENN  Jun 10, 2014 ]
It does display song, title OR artist when using iPhone, iPod or digital media. I haven't figured out how to get it to scroll through all. It only shows whichever one you choose to see. It does not however show any of these when just listening to the radio I.e. FM or AM.[ ISAAC J  Jun 10, 2014 ]
    No[ JOHN  Jun 10, 2014 ]
Yes on pandora and Ipod info[ WILLIAM A  Jun 10, 2014 ]
