It'll handle vibrations, temperature fluctuations, and humidity with ease, and the front panel's protective covering keeps out the dust and grime you encounter when taking on dirty jobs. And if you're a trucker who takes your stereo out of the rig when you're off the job, the receiver's built-in memory will keep all your presets and other settings for 30 days.

And if you're a trucker who takes your stereo out of the rig when you're off the job, the receiver's built-in memory will keep all your presets and other settings for 30 days.

The receiver's AM and FM tuner lets you check out your favorite radio stations, while the Weather Band tuner keeps you up to date on changing weather conditions in your area. If you're on the road a lot, the Radio Broadcast Data Service (RBDS) alerts you to traffic conditions in select areas. If you've got a portable player, you can plug it into the minijack input right on the front panel.

The backlit LCD display is easy to read in all lighting conditions, and you can add an optional remote control if you'd like.

This digital media receiver will not play CDs. If you want to play CDs in your vehicle, we offer a wide selection of CD receivers.

Wow! Best Receiver I Have Owned

Craig from Calhoun, KY on 6/25/2013

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Jensen Heavy Duty JHD1120B was installed in a Case IH farm tractor which had been pre-wired for Jensen receivers. This is one of the units available as OEM but none came with this tractor. It was as close to plug and play as a radio could possibly be. The front speakers are the only ones used. The right speaker did not work after installation. The problem was easily solved by pushing the "Reset" button.

Pros: Absolutely the best receiver I have ever owned. Long distance AM stations are strong with good quality sound. I am not referring to the big powerful clear channel stations at night. FM stations that are unusable in other vehicles are clear with outstanding quality stereo sound. The WB (Weather Band) stations are unbelievably good. Well worth the cost for someone wanting a high quality radio receiver, especially for distant stations.

Cons: The installation and operators manual was printed in extremely small fonts, a complete waste of paper. No excuse for that! I printed the manuals so I would have something readable for installation and operation instructions.

Purchased for a CAT excavator where it is installed vertically (face up) in the factory slot in the door-side electrical panel. In that location it is subject to dust and moisture. I needed rugged, rain resistant unit that did not have a CD slot which would admit dirt.

Pros: Simple - I really like the separate buttons for most functions. It is as easy to use (intuitive) as a factory car radio. While having one knob doing multiple functions may be "cool," it is not cool to have to pull out the owner's manuel to make the darn thing work. When you operate multiple vehicles and pieces of equipment, "keeping it simple stupid" (KISS) makes a lot of sense!

Cons: It is a relatively expensive unit. A headphone jack would be really nice! I use noise canceling headphones on when operating the excavator and having the jack on the radio, would save a lot of wiring.

Quality Radio that is easy to use. However the FM or AM sound quality rivals that of most AM radios. It is tough I have some in John Deere tractors. Still trying to fuigure out how to dial the display, the manual is vague on somethings.

Installed this awesome radio in a Kubuta M9540 a/c cab tractor and couldnt be happier! The orange display is even a perfect match to the tractors dash illumination! When you pick up this radio it is immediately apparent that it is a better built unit than the average consumer receiver. the display is large and easy to read. The buttons and knob are just the perfect size and easy to read. When you push the buttons and turn the knob it is obvious that this is well built deck. Before purchasing this radio i had installed a low end jvc cd receiver. It lasted a measely 6 months in the harsh environment of farming/tractor use. This jensen heavy duty model is a HUGE improvement in quality and craftsmanship over the jvc. Not that the jvc was a cheap piece of junk by anymeans, but it was not built for offroad use like this beast is! If you are looking for a radio for any vehicle that will receive use other than paved driving on a normal basis, this Jensen is the only way to go! And if you simply desire a well built radio with easy to read displays and "old school" buttons this is your best bet. By the way the sound quality was as good as the jvc, and the menu/navigation is much easier to read! My 72 year old father was overcome with joy to find that he could actually see the display and operate the radio with ease! He unfortunately had a high level of difficulty with the "mickey mouse" features of the more modern style jvc. This thing even has a aux input for a mp3/ipod player!

Pros: Rock solid build and craftsmanship! Easy to read display, easy to navigate menus, push buttons have a feeling of quality, not like the tiny cheap ones on most of todays aftermarket radios.

Cons: No preamp output on this model, but the cd player model does have one, this isnt an issue unless you want to add a external amp, the internal amp is poweful enough for full range speakers.

This radio is a perfect fit for the driver that drives a different truck everyday. The radio presets and the clock retaining its info is why I chose this unit. The rugged design and resistance to shock and dust were just a bonus. Not having to reset the clock every day was worth the extra money.... If your one of those drivers that need to build a roadbox with a radio and cb, you can't go wrong with this unit..... I have not needed it yet but, I'm sure the weather band is going to come in handy at some point.

Pros: non-volitile memory, rugged design, ease of installation, sound quality

Cons: cost is a bit pricey

Darn good radio. A major step up from factory. The weather band has already come in handy. Living in Oklahoma in the spring has its weather problems. The weather band makes getting updates easy while on the road.

Pros: Good sound, nice set up. Weather Band +++

Cons: Instructions from Jensen in fine print. Hard to read for old eyes.

Just what I was looking for

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed it in my camper so we can listen to AM/FM and then weather when we need to when going out fishing. Sound is excellent with the original (Cheap) camper 4 speakers. Haven't had it out to test reception on the Washington coast yet. My only gripe is thta the pin diagrams were not accurate, The Jensen one had the + and - in the wrong slots, and the one from Crutchfield was not even close. So I had to scratch my head for a bit on connecting the wires, and I still am not really sure if the RF-LF-RR-LR are right.

    Heavy Duty? Time will tell...

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Pros: (1) Easy installation with the bracket and wiring harnesses that Crutchfield provided! (Thanks, Crutchie!). (2) Conformal coating on the circuit boards inside should make this a durable device for a Jeep Wrangler installation. (3) Weather Band right there! (4) No CD slot to let rain in! (5) Rubber cover on the AUX jack keeps the rain out! Con: No dimmer wire! I have to go through a couple of layers of menu to dim the radio display at night. (My pro for this particular con is that I seldom drive this car at night. Even when I do, I've got it dim enough for night use, and the LCD is so legible it really doesn't need illumination in the day.)

Heavy Duty: The Jensen Heavy Duty JHD1120 is an AM/FM/RBDS/WB in-dash receiver. Jensen Heavy Duty series head units are specifically designed, built, and tested to withstand even the harshest road and work conditions, such as humidity, electrostatic discharge, vibrations, and temperature fluctuations. Its entire front panel is an impervious membrane protected to prevent dirt, grime from accessing control panel through pushbutton gaps. The head unit's conformal coated PCB board and heavy-duty design specification provides maximum durability under all conditions. The following tests are performed on Jensen's Heavy Duty in-dash receivers.
