Crutchfield: Harman Kardon 2013 Headphones
Item # 532BTPHON | MFR # HARKAR-BT
This item is no longer available.
Go hands-free and wireless with your music and phone calls with Harman Kardon's BT headphones. Bluetooth connectivity means you can conduct clear conversations without touching your phone. Clever controls on the earcup let you answer calls, hang up, and adjust the volume as you talk, with no dangling cables to get in your way. You can also enjoy music wirelessly from Bluetooth smarthphones, tablets and audio players. The BT's AAC and aptX® encoding provides the finest streaming sound quality available when using compatible devices. Once your music reaches the headphones, you can be sure it will sound detailed and bold. Harman Kardon's design includes bass tubes that function like tuned bass ports, providing extra low-frequency "oomph" to complement the BT's high-frequency clarity.
The Harman Kardon BT headphones come with an optional miniplug cable for passive listening, even when your battery is drained.
Bluetooth headphones rely on battery power for wireless streaming. And the BT is no exception, with a USB cable included to enable easy charging from any computer for up to 12 hours of listening. But while some Bluetooth headphones leave you high and dry if the battery is drained, the BT comes with an optional cable for passive listening. So even if you can't charge the battery, you can still plug in and keep the music going. This makes the BT ideal for travel, especially those long plane trips where you don't want to be stuck with headphones you can't use.
These headphones are built for comfort and looks. The unique rectangular earcups will turn heads, while the soft memory foam pads provide comfort that lasts. And we were particularly impressed to see the inclusion of an additional headband. The BT comes with a small headband installed. But if it doesn't provide the comfort and security you need, you can swap it out with the included larger headband. With this level of attention to fit and comfort, the BT should look and feel at home on anyone.
The earcup track and volume controls are extremely easy to use without fumbling around trying to figure out which button is which. I must admit, there is something magical about moving about wearing headphones with no cable. If Bluetooth is a priority, the BT is a great choice, particularly if you own an aptX-compatible device.

Excellent quality, cool desing, not to comfortable
Average Customer Review(s):
Excellent quality, cool desing, not to comfortable
Great & continuous sound for a bluetooth headphone. Confortable and clear sound, with low disturb exterior sounds.
Pros: Light, comfortable, great quality materials, great sound, beautiful, fit excellent
Cons: Audio cable too short
Good Sound, well built but not comfortable for me. I have tried several bluetooth headphones over the last few months. Though the Bose sound was OK but they were comfortable. The Sony 10RBT were comfortable and liked controls but had too much for me. The Monster Pro Logic were the best sounding but very uncomfortable. The HKs were well built had good sound, but the cushions did not fit over my ears like the Sony or Bose so was uncomfortable and I returned them.
Pros: Sounded good
Cons: Did not like fit
I was looking for a great sounding wireless head set. After trying two different ones I guess I just cant get what Im looking for from wireless.
The first song I played was "Nothing Lasts Forever" by Maroon 5 and I was hooked! Then I played "Won't Go Home Without You". The snap of the drum to the empty bottle hit, rang crisp and clear. The mids were well-defined and the highs rode on air all the way through. Bass is hard and thumps, but not to where it crashes into anything. Vocals were situated perfectly so as not to be stepped on by the busy sounds around it. Beats by Dre over-emphasizes the bass, which if you like rap, is fine, but do little to give a pure and overall balance to the mix. But these cans do a fantastic job at giving you the nuances of the music for a perfect concert experience. I now have three sets: two CL and one BT--that's what I think of them. The BTs sound great wired or unwired. I will not be without my Har/Kars!
For the price I paid you will not find a better sounding or better built headphone. They are comfortable and come with an additional larger headband. The only thing I don't like is the lack of a wall charger. You have to plug it into a USB port on your device.
Pros: Price, sound, comfort, sleek styling.
Cons: Lack of wall charger
they come apart way to easy spin them over 300 degrees and the ear muffs fall off
Pros: blue ray strong
Cons: forever putting them back together
Great sound and love the BT!
Great for wireless ability and good sound. Excellent for my tablet and cell phone. Quality built.
Pros: Sturdy quality build.
Cons: Not noise cancellation.
I have used everything under the sun. For over the ear, I have used Sony, Sennheiser, and Logitech. For Bluetooth options I have used Motorola, Blue Ant, Bose, Jaybirds, and Jawbone. For a one ear solution, I highly recommend the Bose Series 2. But when you want a fuller audio experience at the computer, listening to music at home, watching TV while the family is sleeping, or on the go I highly recommend these. The Bluetooth option is just a bonus. I was about to get the Bose or Sennheiser, but when these went on sale, I made the jump and I am glad that I did.
Pros: Full music range, especially when you tweak the EQ to get it right where you want it. Option of plug in or Bluetooth. Nice looking and comfortable. Competitively priced, especially when on sale. The carrying case is good for protecting your investment.
Cons: Only charge by USB. Would be better if it came with a charging cradle or a wall charge option included.
Its like going to carnegie hall! The best!
Pros: Exceptional highs ...midrange and bottom.
They are better than the big names out there(bose, beats)
Pros: Top notch sound.
Cons: They could be a little more comfortable.

The BTs have interchangeable parts that let you custom fit the headphones to your head. The ear cups swivel to lay flat for easy storage in the supplied leather case.
Bluetooth Technology: The H/K BT wireless headphones supports Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with A2DP (v1.2), AVRCP (v1.0), HSP (v1.2) and HFP (v1.5) protocols. In addition they employ AAC and aptX coding to give you the best wireless audio performance available. The Bluetooth operating range is approximately 26 feet.
Rechargeable Battery: The headphones are powered by a 3.7-volt rechargeable battery. The battery charges in approximately 2 hours via USB, using the supplied USB charging cable. (Charging from a laptop computer may take longer.) Typical battery life is approximately 12 hours.
Cable: When the battery becomes exhausted, you can still enjoy music playback from your device via the supplied bypass cable. The heavy duty cable plugs into the left ear cup via a 2.5mm sub-miniplug, and is terminated with a durable straight 3.5mm plug.
Built-in Remote/Microphone: The BT headphones have a built-in microphone on the front of the left ear cup for carrying on phone conversations. Also, there is a 3-button control panel on the back of the left ear cup. The controls allow you to raise and lower the volume with the top and bottom buttons, while the center button can control your phone calls or music. The remote control is "Made for iPod, iPhone, and iPad", which means that it is certified to meet Apple performance standards. During music playback and phone calls, the control function is determined by the number of center button presses:
Design: The headphones have a closed back design and slow-retention premium foam ear pads to keep outside noise out and keep your music and phone conversations from leaking out. The ear cups swivel in two directions to maintain the acoustic seal around your ear.
Interchangeable Bows: The H/K BT headphones come assembled on a "small" metal headband bow. If you need or desire a larger fit, you can remove the ear cups and padded from the original bow and attach them onto the supplied "large" metal bow.

I have not tried it on a Samsung Smart TV although I own one bit I doubt it because I do not believe that it has a Bluetooth connection. If your receiver does than you should be able to connect utilizing that. There is an included cord to connect directly to an output but that defeats the purpose of using Bluetooth. I have not had to replace it. It's proprietary but the cable itself is simple. You cam make your own. Do a Google search for "harman kardon bt charging cable techneiq" [ Khurt Oct 23, 2014 ]
No but I have not really looked for one. Looking at the cord I figure they made it so you would have to get on from them. With a schematic of the cord you could probably make one but I have not had the need to look for that either. Not sure a 3rd party would make a specialty item like that as the demand would be low. [ Ralph Oct 23, 2014 ]
I'm sure replacements will be available, but you may need to take it to a certified service center. You can contact their parts department to and see if replacement batteries and ear pads are available directly to consumers. [ Krissy Jan 21, 2014 ] Staff
