A lot of reserve time.

Living in the Lightening Capitol of the World I reciently came across this Power supply and It is running my PC and all it's accessories. I am using an average of 150 watts draw. That cauculates to a long run time when the electric goes out. For the price the other choices don't come close. The box doesn't talk about Surge protection and Gurarantees if my products get damaged. The booklet does express surge protection and Limited Guarantees. The is no connection program to your PC. The unit warns when 10 minutes of Battery are remaining. Simple and versatile. I can remove the items plugged in and have power during storms for a Fan, light etc...<BR>This is so nice you might want two!

Overview: The Xantrex PowerSource 400 is a durable power inverter that comes with five outlets and can run multiple devices for up to eight hours when your electric goes out.

Continuous Output Wattage: This product is limited to 320 watts total when supplying backup power from its batteries. This limit applies to the total of all the items plugged into the inverter. The output wattage is not sufficient to run the following items.

  • Items producing heat such as toasters, microwaves, heaters, pellet stove igniters.
  • Motor loads with high startup power surge requirements such as sump pumps, circular saws, larger power tools, and refrigerators.

Installation: The PowerSource 400 should be used or stored in a temperature-controlled indoor area away from direct sunlight, moisture or conductive contaminants. Always allow a minimums of 3 inches of space around the unit for optimal ventilation.

Note: The PowerSource 400 must be plugged directly into a wall outlet and not into a surge protector or power strip.

Initial Use or Storage: The PowerSource 400 must be charged immediately before storage or use. This will protect the battery inside from damage and will ensure extended usage run time.

Fault LED: This light illuminates red when the PowerSource 400 has an operation fault.

Power Button: This button turns the PowerSource 400 on and off when pressed for at least 2 seconds.

  • Unit On: Turning the unit on activates the LED screen and the five AC outlets. When the unit is on, the unit can charge itself, provide AC power when connected to utility power, and provide backup power.
  • Unit Off: Turning the unit off removes power from the five AC outlets, even when the AC Power Cord is connected to utility power.

AC Power/Battery LCD: This light illuminates green when utility power is available and flashes amber when the unit is running off its internal battery to provide backup power.

LED Screen: This screen indicates the charging status and power draw from the PowerSource 400 or battery capacity. The screen will also show error codes to aid in troubleshooting.

Select Button: This button displays the PowerSource 400 battery level or output power.

Charged/Charging LED: This light illuminates green when the unit is fully recharged and flashes while the unit is recharging.

Blue LED: This light illuminates the rear AC outlets when a power outage occurs.

15 A Circuit Breaker: The breaker helps protect the unit's AC outlets and your equipment from overload conditions.

Five 120V AC Outlets: These outlets can be used for powering office equipment and household appliances that draw a maximum total of 400 watts. All the outlets are surge protected and back up by the PowerSource 400 internal battery.
