2015 Toyota Camry
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I bought these to replace the dash speakers in a 2016 Toyota Camry. I started out running them in parallel with RF Prime 6x9 in doors WITHOUT a cap (hi-pass filter) on my PPI i640.5 amp (80wpc @ 2ohm in front channel). I was surprised that the little RF 3.5" could run that much power full-range, but I'm not a head banger and know when an amp is clipping or a tiny 3.5" woofer bottoming....lol. So I added a capacitor. It lost some warmth (lower mid), but still sounded very good. I was also surprised at the quality of the sound, especially the highs. Not being silk, I was expecting a little harshness from the PEI dome, but, to me, it wasn't harsh at all. If anything maybe a bit more pronounced at the higher frequencies as I was picking up slightly more detail on certain things. I wouldn't call the RF P132 warm sounding either. I would say they are 'clear' sounding. I'm about to likely buy another pair and see if I can get them into my Tacoma dash (not recommended, but oh well)!
Pros: Powerhandling, clarity, versatility, slightly lower efficiency works best in dash IMO.
Cons: None I can think of
