Rockford Fosgate showcases their fanatical commitment to sonic excellence in the Punch Series of speakers, amps, and subs. If you like to listen to potent, powerful music — and feel it too — Punch components will give you impressive sound that'll stand out in a crowd.
Engineers at Rockford Fosgate designed the P1S4-15 15" subwoofer to dish out the kind of powerful low end you crave in your ride. Its responsive paper cone is reinforced with the same Kevlar® fibers used in bulletproof vests so you get the best of both worlds — warm bass that's exceptionally hard-hitting. Rockford Fosgate uses a new technique to attach the oversized rubber surround to the cone that increases available cone area up to 25%, so this sub can push more air for even bigger bass.
The P1S4-15 sub features an extended pole piece and bumped backplate that leaves more room for heavy excursion, so it'll hit deeper lows without "bottoming out." This sub works equally well in a sealed or ported enclosure, so you can choose the kind of bass you want for your system.
To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 200 and 375 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

I'm giving this 5 stars for a reason. I debated for weeks on a good sub to get for my car, I hesitaded between this one and a other Rockford. Let me just say this, if our confused on a sub to buy....oh my freaking gosh BUY THIS one!!!!!! It was absolutley worth the money. My god this sub is outstanding. I don't know what else to say.
Pros: Great Price Easy to install Sounds deep and very high-end Great quality All around just an absolutley amazing product
Cons: Why doesn't this by sub Rockford have more recognition?
Built a rock solid 2 cubic foot sealed enclosure for one of these P1. Very accurate sound, not muddy. (strong motor with a light moving mass) I like the 15's over any other size because they dip low on the freq. When certain bass lines hit in a song, you cant ignore the presence when a 15 plays it. Other sizes sound nice but im very glad I finally stepped up to the 15.
When I originally bought this sub I used it in the manufacturer's recommended ported enclosure that I built myself. Despite it being the first sub box I ever made, it sounded amazing. There were some noticeable flaws with my box (mainly air leaks around the port) but the sub shined right on through. I would also highly recommend using double flared ports for this sub because it moves a LOT of air.
Pros: Great value. Rockford Fosgate quality. Low power handling (can work with many amps). Great sound quality.
Cons: Low power handling (can be overdriven easily if you are not careful with amp selection and gain settings). Decorative trim is a hard plastic which could possibly create mechanical noise if it isn't fastened down properly, would have loved to see a tough rubber.
Bass is very deep
Pros: Big deep bass
Cons: 15" takes up space but worth it
Great speaker. I'm gonna put it in my 92 dodge dually and see what it does in there. RN its hooked up to old school system. Does great.
Pros: Hits hard, makes great low sound
Cons: At one time it was tweeting cause something inside was acting up but fixed it
Have them hooked up to an old school bd1000a and they definitely get the air moving. Upgraded from an r2 12" and the difference is insane (as expected). Definitely would recommend these to anyone
Pros: Having 2 giant 15's staring at you when you open the trunk is awesome. They sound good on the rock and dub step that I listen to, and can definitely get low.
Cons: Only complaint I would have is they hang over the top and bottom of my prefab box, but that's probably the box
Great product happy as alway with Rockfords quality
Pros: Great sound

Overview: The Rockford Fosgate Punch P1S4-15 is a 15-inch subwoofer with a single 4Ω voice coil. The sub features a StampCast steel frame, quick-release compression terminals, a Kevlar fiber reinforced paper cone, and NBR surround (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber). An anodized aluminum voice coil former and spider venting help keep the subwoofer cool.
Steel Basket: The P1S4-15 subwoofer features a StampCast steel basket for added rigidity.
Compression Terminals: The P1S4-15 features spring post terminals which accommodate speaker wire up to 10 gauge.
CEA-2031 Compliant: Power handling on the P1S4-15 subwoofer conforms to CEA-2031 industry standards. This means the subwoofer has the capacity to handle power under continuous demand, not instantaneous power handling, that over time, can damage voice coils.
FlexFit Basket: The Flex Fit frame utilizes slots (where possible) instead of single screw sized holes; allowing slight adjustment of the speaker when mounted.
Trim Ring: To improve the cosmetic look, a decorative trim ring is included that mounts over the flange of the woofer. When using the PVC trim ring the woofer is first mounted with four screws, then the ring is placed on top of the woofer, aligning the final four holes of the woofer with ring. The other four screws are used for these holes to mount the ring and woofer to the enclosure. The trim ring increases the mounting height of the woofer to 7/8 of an inch.
Sealed Box: Rockford recommends a sealed enclosure with an optimum internal volume of 1.58 cubic feet (from 1.3 to 3.5 cubic feet is acceptable). Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music.
Ported Box: Rockford recommends a ported enclosure with an internal volume of 2.66 cubic feet using one 4" diameter x 8" long port; this yields a tuning frequency of 34.4 Hz. Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output (below 34 Hz).

I used one before to make a ported sub for my Nissan Altima and it was amazing. Soon I will be upgrading to a suv and I wanted to create a new box with 2 subs so I bought another. Hopefully everything will go great and sound even better! [ Matthew Apr 04, 2016 ]

I had mine in my truck for around 3 weeks only running 300 watts to it and it didn't break in from that and the reason it wasn't in there longer is because the thing blew. [ Ian May 30, 2016 ]
