Figuring to myself. "You don't know what you are doing. This is going to be hard as hell." Honestly. The hardest part about the whole setting up of these speakers was taking the door off. I did have to drill some new holes for the screws to go into, but that was easy. The wire brackets the speakers came with hooked right into my '92 Ranger. The speakers sound so much better then my stock speakers. I am half deft but the speakers still sound great! Next is a sub woofer!

Pros: Easy to put in. Great sound.

Cons: Hard to put in if your truck is a pig sty like my was lol.

Great highs

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted to replace the stock speakers in my new to me 06 Ford Expedition. I signed into and pulled up my vehicle on their "what fits my vehicle" system ( Crutchfield makes it so easy). I had some experience with Rockford Fosgate in the past so I read all the reviews on these speakers and liked what I saw. These speakers were so easy to install with the Master Sheet ,Wiring harness and location adapters Crutchfield provided for free. These speakers sound awesome in my Expedition , I listen to multiple genres of music ( old school Rap and R&B , Rock , Country , New Wave , Classic Rock ) everything sounds great. The clarity of these speakers blew my mind.

Pros: Clarity

very nice, clear and crisp upper highs

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the factory speakers in bottom of the doors of my 350 z along with tweeters in the top section. I have Fosgate 6" mid range in the back and a 10" powered sub all pushed by a Clarion 80 watt head unit. The sound is AWSOME ! These speakers make the perfect "filler " for the gap between mid-range and tweeters. Vocals are clear and crisp. VERY HAPPY !.

Pros: great upper mid range sound

Cons: not a good choice for a primary speaker ....not meant to be :-)

I Agree

Evangelist from Albuquerque on 4/3/2010

I agree with the most recent reviews. These speakers were not designed for bass response. Rockford Fosgate has plenty other items for that. I purchased these for a small Mitsubishi Mirage i had purchased. The original owner of the car put Infinity Kappa speakers in the doors and no after market stereo or amp. Needless to say the Kappas perished. So i decided to replace with these speakers and they did what i expected them to do.

Nice Speakers

cbyrnside from Augusta, GA on 3/30/2010

These speakers sound fine. No, they don't put out much bass, but that isn't what they are designed to do. If these are going to be the largest, or only set of speakers in your car then you aren't going to have much bass anyway. I actually bought these speakers a while back to use in another car, but nobody had the correct mounting brackets in stock so I bought a set of 6.5 inch Infinity's that didn't need a bracket, and these sat on a shelf brand new in the box for a while. I finally put them in my current daily driver to replace OEM speakers in the doors that had completely decomposed after 12 GA summers. I installed these and a set of Alpine 6X9's, driven by a Pioneer head unit that I put in a couple of years ago. The stereo in the car sounds great, I really couldn't be happier. These aren't audiophile grade speakers, but they are better than any factory speakers I have heard, including the Infinity speakers in my wife's Caravan, or my LHS. Paired with a decent head unit and good rear speakers, you will have a stereo that sounds great with a variety of music.

anyone who bought these speakers for the bass is off the mark. if you want bass buy a sub not component speakers. replace the factory speakers with these and add a nice 12" sub or a couple 10s and you will have the bass you want.

Great value (2005 Ram 1500 Reg Cab Rumblebee)

Tony from Fayetteville, NC on 4/8/2009

2005 Dodge Ram 1500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fit was a bit a a problem and the master sheet left out the fact that the rear cab liner needed to be removed to facilitate removal and installation. DONT buy theese speakers for the bass. Theese worked great for the regular cab Ram 1500 for the lack of high's in the rear of the cab by the OEM speakers leaving a empty spot in the sound stage. The prime's filled in the empty spot with birght highs and rich mid's that were missing from the existing OEM's. Great replacement speaker for this application. Mounting the speakers was tricky as you have to drill new holes for the mount and only 3 of the mounts can be used as the speaker is not large enough to fill in the hole of the cut-out of the cab. I found myself drilling on an angle on both sides when I got to the 3rd hole because of a lack of proper fit, and about a 1/8" gap will be on the rear side of the speaker once it's mounted. As stated before, these speakers did NOT produce any bass for the rear of the cab at all and if your looking for that then dont buy theese speakers.

Not worth the time!

If these are typical of this family line, don't bother. Crutchfield has a great return policy, you will use it!

No Range... Sending them Back...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers to go with a new stereo that i bought for my car. Notice my title "No Range". I installed one of the speakers in my car and then tried it out. they had zero base and are all treble. The truth is that the factory speakers in my basic 2000 Ford Focus are better sounding then these Rockford Fosgates. I am sending them back for a refund, in which Crutchfield has been helpful so far.
